Hello!This function was defined and used instead of memset to reset mbedtls's sha256 context. Is there a good reason behind this choice?https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeH7/blob/master/Middlewares/Third_Party/mbedTLS/library/templates/hash_stm32.c  /* Implementation that should never be optimized out by the compiler */ void hash_zeroize( void *v, size_t n ) { volatile unsigned char *p = (unsigned char *)v; while (n--) { *p++ = 0; } }

I have TouchGFX UI running on STM32H7. Only with one screen there is an issue, fonts gets distorted.   What could be the reason for this?

I have a multi-language graphics project which requires the use of characters beyond the standard ASCII set.  I have not found a working method to convert C++ wstring to TouchGFX::Unicode.  I have attempted the following: Unicode::strncpy(txtTitleBuffer, headerText.c_str(), buf_size1);  //No matching funtions...Unicode::strncpy(txtTitleBuffer, headerText, buf_size1);             //No matching funtions... Unicode::snprintf(txtTitleBuffer, buf_size1, "%s", headerText.c_str());       //Compiles without error but only shows 1st character.Unicode::snprintf(txtPasswordTitleBuffer, buf_size1, "%s", headerText);  //Compiles without error but only shows ??? which is the default undefined font character. If possible I would like to stay with the standard C++ type for the strings and convert as it is about to be displayed as manipulating TouchGFX::Unicode is a bit clunky.

I purchased the STM32WB5MM-DK and it has an application running. When I update CUBE-MX with the patch for STM23WB5MM , there are is no examples that match the application. The training talks about the example projects but they did not come with the update. Where can I find the source project for the Dev Boards application?  I work in MKS toolset

Hi,I am trying to send encrypted data between a C# application and STM32 in AES GCM mode.Currently, I am only doing encryption of a known test vector.Key and IV are both all zeros.AAD length is 0.My testvector is: 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 42 49Using the code below, I get the same ciphertext in both applications:03 88 DA CE 60 B7 A3 92 F3 28 C2 B9 71 B2 BC 31 But the tag never matches.I suspect there is something wrong in the final stage, where the tag is calculated.void AesTest() { uint8 iv[12]; uint8 plainText[] = { 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x42, 0x49 }; uint8 header[0]; uint8 cipherText[sizeof(plainText)]; uint8 authTag[16]; memset(iv, 0, sizeof(iv)); uart_printf("ENCRYPT\r\n"); if (!AesEncryptGcm(iv, header, sizeof(header), plainText, sizeof(plainText), cipherText, authTag)) return; } bool AesEncryptGcm(const uint8 *iv, const uint8 *header, uint8 headerLen, const uint8 *plainText, uint16

Hi,Could you please share the phase response of the Reshape Filter? The reference manual only provides the magnitude response, as shown belowRegards.

Hello,according to this document https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an5337-guidelines-for-estimating-stm32h7-mcus-lifetime-stmicroelectronics.pdfthe expected lifetime of a STM32H7 mcu depends on the parameters Tj (junction temperature), VOS0, VOS1, VOS2, VCore and operation ratio.How can we determine VOS0, VOS1, VOS2 and VCore for the STM32H7S78-DK board? Thanks in advance,rk_iot

Hi,I am using AutoDevKit to develop an application on the SPC563M-DISP. I have a AEK-MCU-SPC5LNK debugger and want to program and debug my software on it. As I know this version only support OpenOCD, but the problem is that I am unable to find the ".cfg" file in the OpenOCD folder, inside the AutoDevKit software.1. Where Can I find the ".cfg" file for the SPC563?2. Can I debug and Program the SPC563 using AEK-MCU-SPC5LNK and OpenOCD?3. Can the AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU (that uses UDE) program and debug SPC563M-SIP?I currently have the 'SPC5LNK ' and want to use that for developming my app on SPC56, but If that is not possible I can get the SPC5LNKU (UDE version) also, but wants to make sure that I will work.

Doing a short search, I did not find a board that conveniently fits my criteria for some future projects.These criteria are the following :  -  small form factor (not bigger than a Rasperry Pico, preferably smaller (Seed XIAO);  -  MCU preferably ranging from C0, F0...F3, F40x, L0 or L1; (not an exclusive list)  -  reasonable commercial availability in Europe;I intend to use these board as a kind of sensor extension for Linux SBCs, with the Raspberry Pi Zero (II) as favourite. Thus the Pi Zero / Pi Pico format as upper size limit.I can't specify more IO details yet, but the average peripherals of above mentioned MCU variants suffices for most purposes. But at least 8 or more IO lines should be available. Peak performance and low-power capabilities are not a criterium either.If someone here knows such a board, I would welcome any suggestion.Thanks !

Hello, I've been using the Nucleo-U385RG-Q for my project and all features work fine, but when I switch the code to a STM32U385VGT6Q, there is a problem when attempting to write to FLASH. My Write function starts with: if (HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&flashErase, &error) != HAL_OK) { break; } and it precisely crashes at: FLASH_WaitForLastOperation in error = ((*reg_sr) & FLASH_FLAG_SR_ERRORS); with error code 128 (0x80). Searching for the error leads me to believe that the CPU is attempting to write protected/secure state areas but the Option Bytes says otherwise.I use Nima-LTD-I-CUBE-EE library.

Hi everyone,We’re currently developing an OBD reader using an STM32G473, which includes three FDCAN controllers. Each FDCAN interface is connected to a TCAN3413 transceiver.As part of our testing setup, we built an ECU simulator using an Arduino with an MCP2515 controller and a TJA1050 transceiver, and this simulator works perfectly.However, we’re facing a major issue when trying to send CAN requests from our STM32-based board to this ECU simulator. We’re not able to make the FDCAN controller operate in Classical CAN 2.0 mode and send messages correctly.We verified this by checking both the RX and CAN lines of the transceiver with an oscilloscope. The TX signal from the STM32 does not show the expected data pattern.That said, the transceiver itself is working correctly, when we send data from the Arduino node, the RX pin on the transceiver shows a clean, valid CAN signal. The issue seems to be that the STM32’s FDCAN controller doesn’t properly interpret or transmit standard CAN 2.0 fra

Hi everyone, I'm a student who was assigned to make an ESP32 NodeMCU WiFi CP2102communicate with the magnificent STM32h755zqi board via usart, simply I wanted to start by writing a simplesentence on the terminal (I know how to use putty) to actually realize that I'm using it correctly usartcommunication.also reading on the forum and from the schematics, usart3 is recommended to do these things asyou can use virtual COM.I attach my file directly, there is certainly something wrong since I am a beginner, for nowon putty it prints indecipherable Chinese characters, I state that I am reading at the same baud rateand all the various configurations that I have entered.During the course I was told to use the M4 core but I was told to write a part of code on M7 to startonly the M4 (in the boot sequence) but I don't know what that meant at all so I wrote the code directly on M7,if anyone can help me in this aspect too, I'd appreciate it.PS: I also accept any other link that I can view for a tut

Hi,I am using a NUCLEO-G071RB development board. I accidentally erased the original bootloader while flashing a custom one. Is it possible to reflash or restore the built-in bootloader on the NUCLEO-G071RB development board? If so, where can I obtain the original bootloader file? Thanks,Aiswarya

Hello I am trying to complete my first IOT system deployment on STAIOT Craft using a STEVAL WINBX1 as the target. I have set up the project, created a dataset and model and am following the workflow to set up an E2E system using ST Azure. I get all the way through the workflow and it looks like its going to be successful but at the last step it errors (as below) and so i cannot use the dataset nor inference tabs on the subsequent page.Setting inference mode... Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/app/workspace/ai_configuration.json'I have tried to do this using different SD cards, on Edge, on Chrome, making sure pop ups, redirects and downloads are all set in the browser.Can you please help guide me through?

For the STM32H743IIKx micro, CubeMX 6.15.0 unnecessarily creates a configuration for the R1 pin when creating an LTDC peripheral when using the RGB666 Display Type.This should not be configured. The required R* pins for this Display Type are R2-R7, as per G2-G7 and B2-B7.This did not occur in previous CubeMX versions, including 6.14.1.This bug means that it is not possible to upgrade to this version of CubeMX with an existing project that already uses the pin(s) required for LTDC_R1.

Dear ST Community,I hope you are doing great.I am having a trouble to run the GUI of ST25R3916 discovery board on my machine, I have windows 10 operating system, I tried to reinstall the included drivers (with the GUI), but the GUI is not able to recognize that the reader is connected to my PC. In the device manager when I connect the board I am getting the following drivers in my list:Universal Serial Bus Devices --> ST-link debugPorts (COM and LPT) --> STMicroelectronics STLink Virtual COM PortAlso I have used dfu-util to check if my system can identify the DFU, but It can not. I tried different PCs, but all have windows 10 OS. I am getting the same problem in all of them.I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

Hi, I need to change the licensed MAC address for my SPC software.It was previously registered with my Ethernet MAC address, but now I’d like to use my Wi-Fi MAC address instead. Could you please let me know how to update or reissue the license for this change? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, apologies if I have missed the answer to this question in previous posts. I understand that according to the datasheet, the maximum input voltage of FT_xx (and even TT) pins is 3.9V even when VDD, VDDA, VDDRF, and VDDSMPS = 0V. From my understanding, this is possible because of the logic level shifters that have been implemented in the design of the chip. These logic level shifters are powered by the VCORE domain according to the datasheet. Based on the datasheet, if the microcontroller chip is put into SHUTDOWN mode, the VCORE domain is powered off. Does this mean that the maximum input voltage on the FT_xx pins become 0V? Thank you for clarifying this!

Hello,I have developed a custom board using the STM32MP157DAC1. The pin layout is nearly identical to the STM32MP157-DK2 for all pins with the same name.I am trying to flash an SD card image using STM32CubeProgrammer, but I'm facing two critical issues.1. USB Device Not RecognizedMy primary issue is that the USB connection is not recognized by my PC at all when I try to connect in DFU mode. I cannot get any response from the device over USB.I have attached a schematic of my USB circuit. Please note that I initially had an error where the DP and DM lines were crossed, but this has since been corrected on the board. Despite the fix, the USB port remains unresponsive.2. UART Flashing Fails with Timeout ErrorAs a workaround, I attempted to flash the image via UART. The process starts, and the first stage bootloader (tf-a- ... .stm32) appears to download successfully. However, the process then fails with multiple timeout errors when trying to get the next phase.Here is the log from STM32Cub

I just downloaded the prerelease (3.something) of the official VS Code extension and created a new project.  By and large, I like it.  It's especially nice that there is an "empty project" option for those that don't want to use HAL or LL functions.  But I was surprised that this does *not* provide the standard CMSIS header files (stm32l4xx.h and so on, for my project on a Nucleo L476).  In fact, searching my entire hard disk, the CMSIS headers were never installed with the extension.  Was there another software bundle I should have downloaded?  I don't see anything in the list.Besides the basic headers, it would be great if there were also a check-box to say if you want to use the DSP library (or other CMSIS libraries), then automatically configure the cmake project accordingly.  But for sure the basic header files should be included.  I mean, I guess you can argue that "empty" means "empty" ;) but in that case, why provide the startup assembly

Hi all, apologies if I am missing where this has been explained.  It seems a relatively common question, but I have not found a definitive answer.A legalistic reading of the datasheet says that there is no difference whether the pin is configured as digital I/O or analog input; FT_a still allows 5V (assuming the usual case of min(supplies) = 3.3V).On the other hand, various commenters here and elsewhere (but not ST employees) have insisted that when a pin is configured as analog input, the 5V tolerance no longer applies; i.e. no difference between TT_a and FT_a as far as input voltage tolerance is concerned.  See e.g. this thread:https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/maximum-allowed-voltage-on-stm32h755xih3-adc-pin/td-p/669693The problem is that this assertion seems to have no support in the actual datasheet.  Or if it does, I haven't been able to find it.  (I would appreciate someone quoting me "chapter and verse" in that case!)Would someone please clear

Greetings,I am very new to ST MCU development, but not new to embedded development. I've developed professionally on Microchip, Qorvo,,and Renesys for the last 20 years.  I am working on bringing up the kit in title. I was successful in generating compiled code for the ElectronicSpeedControl_ESC-G4 project in ST Motor Workbench 6.4. I am working with the latest tools from your website. I did use the stand alone Motor Profiler tool (v5.4) to run a profile on a drone motor successfully, but I quickly realized that it generated XML files for profiles. I figured out that the new version of MP was embedded in WB and produced JSON files. So I proceeded down that path. I could connect the kit to the newest version of MP, but it said I need a "Profiler" version of FW on my kit. I had downloaded the compiled non-Profiler version. This is where it went off the rails. When created a brand new project with the kit and a 24V motor selected from the default group of motors and I check

I am using a pcb4188_vd66g1 camera module with a Raspberry Pi 5.The system has been freshly set up with Raspberry Pi OS 64-bit, and I followed the official setup guide step by step.After completing the setup:The camera is detected correctly when running rpi-hello --list-cameras. However, when I run rpi-hello, no image is displayed (black screen), and an error message appears (see attached screenshot). Modified versions of the command do not work either The camera is also recognized at startup (dmesg as well), as confirmed by the output of v4l2-ctl --list-devices. I have also read through several forum threads on this topic and have already tried many of the suggested troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists.Could you please help me identify what might be causing the problem and how to resolve it? Additionally, I noticed the following behavior:During setup, I only ran sudo apt update but did not perform a full upgrade.After running a full system update/upgrade later, some Ras

Hi all,I'm using an STM32U5G7VJT6Q on a custom design PCB. From the application, I jump to the USART (UART1) system bootloader. I then try to connect to the bootloader via STM32CubeProgrammerCLI. Dear,For a given HDPL, how many 256-bit AHKs (Application Hardware Keys) can be stored in the option byte keys?And how many of those are:only usable by SAES?usable by software?The reference manual states the following:5.2 FLASH main features:"Up to 1 Kbyte of protected non-volatile option byte keys, readable either by software orusable as a secret AES key through SAES peripheral (as AHK keys)"It is unclear whether this is for just one HDPL, or whether this is a grand total comprising all three HDPLs that support option byte key storage (HDPL0, HDPL1, HDPL2).Suppose it is for just one HDPL, then this would be able to store 32 (= 1 K byte * (8 bit / byte) / 256 bit) 256-bit AHKs. This seems to be a reasonable assumption since if it were for all three HDPLs, this number would have to be divisible by 3, which it is not (32/3 = ~10.667).5.9.18 FLASH option byte key control register (FLASH_OBKCR):"OBKSIZE[1:0]: Option byte key sizeApplication must use this bitfield to specify
