Posted on October 02, 2017 at 11:07Hello!I use cube usb library for usb_otg_fs mode wit STM32L467. I would like to use DM and DP pins also as GPIO INPUT PULL UP when usb is not used.After usb connection closed, I do the following:1) I use functions USBD_Stop and USBD_DeInit2) Disable usb_otg_fs clock2) Initialize DM and DP pins as GPIO INPUT PULL UPBut after these operations I cannot see high logic level on these pins. Maybe I didn't clear all necessary registers in usb_otg_fs? How should I properly deinitialize usb interface for using DM and DP pins as gpio?Thank you#stm32l4-usb #usb

Posted on October 02, 2017 at 14:52When code is copied to RAM (for example the code for rewriting internal flash)  how the RAM is allocated? Is it allocated statically or just uses any free space remaining below the stack? I cannot find this in the documentation.

Posted on October 04, 2017 at 07:37Hello All,Is it possible that STM32L072 can be programmed/debugged through USB?  It would be nice if somebody could share reference to the possible ways the micro-controller can be programmed/debugged.Best Regards,Sarang#stm32l072

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 14:16Greetings community,I am developing an IR learning hardware that can transmit its learned IR codes as well. For the transmitter part, I will be using the IR_OUT pin (PA13).For the receiver part, from AN4834, I understand that a General Purpose Timer needs to be configured in PWM input to capture incoming demodulated IR data. The STM32L4 has 3 x GP Timers, namely TIM15, TIM16 and TIM2, As TIM 15 and TIM 16 are used for the modulation of the transmitted Infrared signal, that leaves me only with TIM2 to be used for my specific purpose.That brings it to my question; which pin should I connect the demodulated infrared signal at STM32L4 so I can use TIM2 as PWM input to capture the data stream.Best Regards,Mete#general-purpose-timers #tim2 #tim #ir #pwm #ir_out #tim16 #stm32l4 #infrared

Posted on September 28, 2017 at 09:20Dear Community,I went through most of the application notes, the datasheet and the reference manual but since I am a hardware guy, I want to make sure that I understand things correctly before I start the design. I am consent with basic yes/no confirmations from people with experience.1. I can program a bare metal MCU using the 10-pin JTAG connector alone.2. I can use the IAR EWARM + Segger J-Link Pro combination for debug and flash programming.3. I can set all JTAG pins (PA13, PA14, PA15, PB3 and PB4) to their alternate functions.4. Each time the MCU is reset, even if JTAG was previously disabled by the application program, all JTAG pins are set back to JTAG functionality and JTAG is enabled.I just want to make sure that, I can use JTAG and only JTAG for flash programming of the MCU and my application program can use all the pins used by JTAG as GPIOs. And more thing, this might sound dumb but none of the alternate functions are actually

Posted on April 11, 2017 at 16:03 Hi, I'm facing an issue with a new project I'm working on, I just received a custom board based on a STM32F746VGT6 MCU, the MCU wasn't able to run my base program, (generated via MXCube), so I started changing parameters to find the source, and it led me to this : when I bring the clock speed down my program run without problems. But when I run with frequencies above ~120MHz, then the program stop working. For now my program just toggle 2 GPIOs : one in the systick handler and the other in a timer interrupt. At first I thought it could be a problem between openocd and the board, but even without the debugger the program wont run above 140MHz. I'm using a 8MHz crystal oscillator as clock source, below is the source code of the SystemClock_Config() function from my program. When I bring RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLN below ~ 240 my program runs. But when I go up in frequencies my program goes in Hardfault at random places. void SystemClock_Config

Posted on September 28, 2017 at 17:58Hi all,I'm trying to send an HTTP message through Ethernet interface using a WIFI external device. For this, I use HAL_UART functions as shown:HAL_UART_Transmit(huart, messageTX,lengthOfmessage, timeoutTX);UART has the following configuration:static void MX_USART1_UART_Init(void){huart1.Instance = USART1; huart1.Init.BaudRate = 115200; huart1.Init.WordLength = UART_WORDLENGTH_8B; huart1.Init.StopBits = UART_STOPBITS_1; huart1.Init.Parity = UART_PARITY_NONE; huart1.Init.Mode = UART_MODE_TX_RX; huart1.Init.HwFlowCtl = UART_HWCONTROL_NONE; huart1.Init.OverSampling = UART_OVERSAMPLING_16; huart1.Init.OneBitSampling = UART_ONE_BIT_SAMPLE_DISABLE; huart1.AdvancedInit.AdvFeatureInit = UART_ADVFEATURE_NO_INIT; if (HAL_UART_Init(&huart1) != HAL_OK) { _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); }}My tests results was (monitoring with Wireshark software):1) Set the parameters as follows:- messageTX = 'GET /registro/index.php/?solicitud=Hello HTTP/1.1\ \r\n Host:1

Posted on September 29, 2017 at 00:23I used STM32CubeMX to generate code for a STM32L051R8xx microcomputer.  All I/O ports initialize correctly except PH1.  If I delete the PH1 initialization code, the program executes correctly.  With the PH1 code the microcomputer resets when it attempts to initialize PH1 as  a push-pull output.  This error occurs for code that uses either HAL or LL code.  Is there a bug in the silicon or very low level firmware?Jim R.

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 19:17Hello,I am writing a test program on my board (xpc56xx evb motherboard) and I want to receive on my terminal throught the UART numbers and text strings.When I get the data on my serial terminal (RealTerm) I  receive properly the strings ('Test program start')  but  not the variables' value   (pcval1,pcval2,pcval3). Posted on April 02, 2015 at 06:35I am trying to use the CR95HF to read mifare classic tags. I am trying to send the authentication with key a command. I have been monitoring the communications between the CR95HF and the card using a proxmark. I am certain I am sending the authentication command correctly as I can see the response Token RB. However the CR95HF is returning a timeout (ie it seems as if there is a short time out running and it is timing out before the response is received).I notice on page 19 of the CR95HF datasheet it says ''Note that REQA, WUPA,Select20 and Select70commands use a fixed intervalof 86/90 μs between a requestand its reply. Other commandsuse a variable interval withfixed granularity.'' I'm wondering if I need to adjust the frame wait time? If so are there any recommendations for what I set the PP and MM bits to? Otherwise does anyone have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong?

Posted on April 12, 2017 at 17:43 Hi, I'm using STM32L476RE in a custom board without HSE. I ported Discovery (76VG) Blink Project (following Clive1's DFU system bootloader) and successfully tested on my board in both Keil and TureStudio. It’s only a 4KB .DFU file to load by DfuseDemo. Now, in my real Truestudio project generated by CubeMx, the .dfu file is 68KB and DFU showing following error ''Matching is not good'' (attached). Am I doing something wrong in configuration? I can’t use Keil here as code size exceeds limit. Datasheet says, System memory 28KB aliased on 0x00000000-0x000FFFF and SRAM1 96KB and Flash 1MB (Attached Image). I request your guidance to solve this issue. In the final version of my custom board, I'll only have USB (or SD) to load program. In Keil, I've changed my startup_stm32l476xx.s file Reboot_Loader PROC EXPORT Reboot_Loader LDR R0, =0x40021060 ;// RCC_APB2ENR Address 0x40021000 (Base)+60 (offset) LDR R1, =0x00000001 ;// ENABLE SYSCFG CLOCK

Posted on February 10, 2017 at 18:44 Hi, I am new to this forum so bearwith me. We are attempting to store user data in flash on STM32L432 for things such as calibration values for different sensors or CAN ID's so that these values don't need to be hard coded. This would ideally be done through UART. The issue I have is that my write to flash hangs onthe following line if I place the Flash_write() in a lower part of main(): if(HAL_FLASHEx_Erase(&EraseInitStruct, &PAGEError) != HAL_OK) ??? The only difference from where it is successfully being written to flash (function call near top of main() ) and when it fails (function call near bottom of main() ) is a bunch of initialization functions (ADC, DMA, GPIO, I2C, Timers, etc.). Is there something that is happening in-between that time that I am not accounting for that may hang on HAL_Flash_ex_Erase()? The following steps are shown to highlight what has been done to successfully write to flash: Modified Link

Posted on September 23, 2017 at 13:19Hello! I try to program stm32f103c8t6 TIM1 in output compare mode (connecting it to  PA8 pin).But PA8 doesn`t have any signal.In  Keil`s debugger the timer running. &sharpinclude <stm32f10x.h>void main(void){RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_IOPAEN; RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_IOPBEN; RCC->APB2ENR |= RCC_APB2ENR_TIM1EN ; GPIOB ->CRH = GPIO_CRH_CNF13_1 | GPIO_CRH_MODE13; GPIOA->CRH = GPIO_CRH_CNF8_1 | GPIO_CRH_MODE8; TIM1->CCMR1 = TIM_CCMR1_OC1PE|TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_0 |TIM_CCMR1_OC1M_1 ; TIM1->CCER=TIM_CCER_CC1E; TIM1->ARR = 0x0FFF; TIM1->PSC = 0x000A; TIM1->CCR3 = 0x0000; TIM1->CR1 |= TIM_CR1_CEN|TIM_CR1_ARPE; while(1) { } } P.S.  Width TIM2 this code running well.Thank for answer!#stm32f103-tim1

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 19:51Hi,I am trying to implement RS485 communication using STM32F030C8. I am using GPIO pin to control my external transreceiver(to change from transmission to reception) by controlling the driver pin of the transreceiver IC. I am able to transmit data(characters) to my PC serial terminal. But I am unable to receive any character from the serial terminal. I am able to do so using the RS232 protocol, but not in RS485. I checked with my debugger and it shows the program waiting for the RXNE flag to be set, that is, waiting for the data to be received in RDR register. What is it that my data is not being received in the RDR register while I implement for RS485?Can anyone explain me the correct way to implement a RS485 communication using Standard Peripheral Library. (Any additional information if required can be provided.)Thanks alot.#stm32 #rs485 #receiver #usart

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 14:18From RN0107:The ST-LINK server is an application to share the debug interface of a single ST-LINK boardamong several host applications, typically a debugging tool and a monitoring tool. Where can ST-Link Server mentioned in RN0107 be found? Is there an accompanying documentation to facilitate development of modification of the clients connecting to it?Thanks,Jan Waclawek

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 11:17Dear all,What are the wakeup pins of the STM32F413VGT? CubeMX and the reference manual says three (PA0/PC0/PC1) but the generated code won't accept PC0 and PC1. And when I write directly into the PWR_CSR register for the two pins, PA0 stops waking up the MCU out of standby. I'm a little bit confused, have I missed an imported part?Kind regards,Age

Posted on September 25, 2017 at 22:12Hi - I'm trying to configure my STM32F429 Discovery board to send digital audio data to a http://store.digilentinc.com/pmod-i2s-stereo-audio-output/.  Section 28.4.4 (pg 911) of the http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/reference_manual/3d/6d/5a/66/b4/99/40/d4/DM00031020.pdf/files/DM00031020.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00031020.pdf says:To achieve high-quality audio performance, the I2SxCLK clock source can be either the PLLI2S output (through R division factor) or an external clock (mapped to I2S_CKIN pin).I can't find any other mention (let alone an explanation) of what this 'R division factor' is.  Does anyone know what this means?-Terence#stm32f4 #i2s

Posted on September 25, 2017 at 08:52I'm actually I want to implement some such as a flag function into my code.But I'm struggling with implementation in c.What is the fairly common way to implement a flag function?int trigger =0;main() {   while(1) {   switch (num)   case0   case1 : trigger = 0   ..   case6 : trigger = 1         if (trigger==1)   printf('trigger-on');   else   printf('trigger-off');      }}As you can see the problem of above is  that if case 6 is activated, then we can see lots of 'trigger-on' printed messages.But I want this just to do one time with trigger or flag.. What is the fairly common way to implement a flag function?

Posted on September 27, 2017 at 10:00Hi.I'm trying to implement such as watch dog program, and I know STM32 supports 2 kind of function.the name of IWDG and WWDG. But I just needed such as simple watch dog(under 40KHZ), so I just planned with IWDG.but I heard that the IWDG's purpose is system reset. but I just want to check whether something signal toggled or not in the given time. what if it does not toggled in the given time then just want PA0 is active high, not want to reset. but If I use IWDG, then I think my system will be have a system reset . But I don't it. So.So If I want to heck this function, what am I supposed to do ?
