Posted on November 09, 2017 at 02:11I downloaded the latest SPC5Studio version 5.5.  If I check for updates, it looks for http://spc5.drive.cloudforge.com/projects/spc5releases/spc5studio/updates5 which does not exist.  The root branches for SPC5Studio have source for 5.3.2, which leaves me thinking that this way of updating is deprecated?  Help>>>Check for Updates... gives error.  Anyone available for a retainer, week's worth of work from home to hold my hand a little, please contact me.

Posted on October 17, 2017 at 22:27Hello,I am trying to estimate power consumption on the stm32h7. The use case i am interested in is sampling 6 channels using ADC3 and transferring the sampled data to memory using BDMA, all this while D1 and D2 domains are in stop mode and only D3 is working. The thing is that i am not able to configure the D1&D2 to stop modes. If i set the power mode to RUN, then D1 has only two options - DRUN/CRUN and DRUN/CSLEEP, in which case D2 only has DRUN. If i set the power mode to STOP, then D1 has DSTOP/DSTANDBY, D2 has DSTOP/DSTANDBY and D3 only has DSTOP.The power consumption in the first case looks too high to me - 17mA. And off course in the second case D3 is in DSTOP, so it is not what i want.I am doing something wrong with the configurations, or is it because STM32CubeMX Version 4.22.1 does not support this work mode in power consumption calculator?Thanks,Evgeny#stme32-cube #stm32h7 #low-power-stop-mode #power-consumption #cube-mx-power

Posted on November 08, 2017 at 22:40 Hi,I am looking for the BSDL for the following controller  (STM32F100V8T7B), I got one I am not sure whether it's correct or not. Any help would be greatly appreciatedThanks,Will

Posted on November 09, 2017 at 10:11 Thank you for your patronage. I'm using STM32F3348-Discoverywhich has FPU and EWARM. I made calculations like the picture below. I'd like to check if floating point arithmetic is calculated correctly. So,I added z to EWARM live watch. Butz indicated an error.In case of integer operation, it is correctly displayed.How can I do it? Best Regards, Ken Inoue

Posted on November 09, 2017 at 08:15I want to use EMIOS and PWM for SPC56EC74. When debugging the code for Channel 0, I can see that channel 9 is being initialized instead.Looking into the xpc56ec.h file, EMIOS section, the UCDIS Disable Channel Register is being described starting at (Base+0x000F), whereas in the datasheet it is said to be at (Base+0x000C).Is the xpc56ec.h header not compatible with SPC56EC74?The code: pwm_lld_init ();  pwm_lld_start (&PWMD1, &pwm_config_pwmcfg); pwm_lld_enable_channel (&PWMD1, 0, PWM_PERCENTAGE_TO_WIDTH(&PWMD1,5000));The header in question is taken from the following plugin:com.st.spc5.components.platform.spc56ecxx_rla_1.0.0.201707271939\component\lib\include\xpc56ec.hRegardsTim#emios #spc56xx

Posted on November 08, 2017 at 21:05In the STM32F030X8 datasheet the PortB pin 15 alternate function AF0 is both SPI1_MOSI and SPI2_MOSI(see table 13 on page 35 of en.DM00088500.pdf). The pin 15 is just an example - there are more of such.How can this be resolved? Is there some other register that specifies the SPI module to connect to the pin?#gpio-alternate-function-ambiguity

Posted on November 08, 2017 at 13:41I selected the 32F769IDISCOVERY board in CubeMX.Why is UART7 in CubeMX disabled?The pins in the conflicts list are not mapped or active.For my app I need the Arduino Pin D3 which is UART7_RX.I studied the schematics and do not find any conflict with other devices.When I force to use PF6 for RX7 and PF7 for TX7 the UART7can be activated in CubeMX.But my app does not receive a character in the callback function (IT is used).Thank you.

Posted on October 06, 2017 at 17:58While compiling a project with syscalls.c generated by cube mx, there is a block like this:  #ifdef _SYS_TIME_H_  struct timezone {    int tz_minuteswest; /* minutes west of Greenwich */    int tz_dsttime; /* type of dst correction */  };#endifand the file includes <time.h> at top. Since _SYS_TIME_H_ is defined in time.h, syscall.c redefines the timezone struct causing a compiler error. My guess is that it is supposed to be #ifndef _SYS_TIME_H_ ? I'm circumventing the error by adding  a preceding '#undef _SYS_TIME_H_' to syscalls.c in a /* USER CODE BEGIN */ section.

Posted on November 07, 2017 at 23:41 Hello, I am trying to run a custom example of USART6 transmitter from the STM32F4 Discovery (so using an STM32F407VGT) and I am having problems since I only see garbage characters like '' through the PC serial console (Putty or screen). The source code I am testing is the following one: #include <stm32f4xx.h> volatile uint8_t flag; void EXTI0_IRQHandler(void) { //USART_SendData(USART6, 0xaa); if(EXTI_GetITStatus(EXTI_Line0) != RESET) { // keep the ISR as short as possible // set the flag and go out USART_SendData(USART6, 0x41); EXTI_ClearITPendingBit(EXTI_Line0); } } int main(void) { // GPIO, NVIC and EXTI declarations GPIO_InitTypeDef gpio_t; USART_InitTypeDef usart_t; //USART_ClockInitTypeDef usart_clk_t; NVIC_InitTypeDef nvic_t; EXTI_InitTypeDef exti_t; RCC_DeInit(); // Enable resonator frequency RCC_HSEConfig(RCC_HSE_ON); while (!RCC_WaitForHSEStartUp()) ; //RCC_PLLCmd(DISABLE); //RCC_PLLConfig(uint32_t RCC_P

Posted on November 08, 2017 at 14:28Hello Everyone,I have a question about STM32F303VCT6 MCU's Hardware Comparator Unit.I want to use 6 of the comparators as window comparator. I have no problem with this installation. But I also want to use this 3 groups of window comparators as cycle-by-cycle current limiter. So, I think I need to connect all the comparators Internal Outputs to my Timer's (TIM1 with 6 channel complementary output) OCREFCLR input. But I can't. Because, hardware just allows to set COMP1-2-3's outputs to set as 'Timer 1 Output Compare Referance Clear'. I don't have 'Timer 1 Output Compare Referance Clear' selection with COMP4-5-6.I need any suggestions. Please help me Thanks a lot.Cemre.#comparator #analog-electronics #ocrefclr #stm32f303 #timers #stm32

Posted on July 18, 2017 at 16:21Hi, I'm working with STM32F745VE I have problem with ADC trigger and UART DMA normal mode.1. I try trigger adc1 by timer2 update event, but it work only with timer8 update2. static void UART_DMATransmitCplt(DMA_HandleTypeDef *hdma) doesn't call HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback(huart) in/* DMA Normal mode*/ if((hdma->Instance->CR & DMA_SxCR_CIRC) == 0U){}

Posted on March 29, 2017 at 14:26As i understand the programming manual section about bonding on BlueNrg-MS devices, encryption keys are stored in the security database in order to resolve addresses, and encrypt future data connections.This all seems to work as expected, but it is unclear to me how to manage the security database over time, when a number of devices is expected to pair to the device during its lifetimeHow many different bonding devices can the security database handle, and what is expected to happen when the database is filled up ? I am aware of the aci_gap_clear_security_database api, but as this clears all paired devices I would like to avoid calling thisunless needed.\Anders

Posted on November 08, 2017 at 10:50Hi I have a question about using a timer to count pulses form a encoder (only one pin) I don't care about the direction.I'm trying to use Timer 3, but I'm not sure how to set it up in CubeMx.I start it with: HAL_TIM_Base_Start( mpEncoderTim );And read with: count = mpEncoderTim->Instance->CNT;Hope anyone of you, have done this before, so you can give me a hint thanks in advance and best regardspanduro..#stm32f7-timer

Posted on November 08, 2017 at 09:15On STM32F777 I have configured TIM2 as encoder counter with a period of 8192  (i.e. the CNT will wrap at 8192, see ARR register).Everything works as expected until I reset the CNT by setting TIM2->CNT=0. In this case the first time CNT doesn't wrap to the expected period value of 8192, it will wrap at (8192 - CNTvalueAtReset): if CNT is 1192 and I reset it, the first time CNT will wrap at 7000 instead than 8192.After this first time everything works as expected.Is there some register I can set when resetting the counter to avoid this behaviour? #stm32-encoder

Posted on November 07, 2017 at 19:01This looks like a bug to me;  STM32Cube_FW_F4 V1.17.0 contains CMSIS-DSP libraries for Cortex-M7 - I haven't yet tried using them, but I'm pretty sure the CPU in the F4-series is a Cortex-M4F. Is this not a bug?Dana#stm32cube_fw_f4 #cmsis-dsp

Posted on April 08, 2017 at 00:00I am trying to implement UART in DMA mode to transmit a simple string every time a push button is pressed.So I have used CubeMX to generate the code and I have configured UART2 TX DMA in normal (not circular) mode and also no FIFO and no burst.Whenever I run the code in debugging mode, I see the first time I attemp to send the string, it works ok and sends the string, but inside the DMA IRQ handler, it calls TxHalfCpltCallback and not TxCpltCallback and also UART gState will remain in BUSY mode so I can't use it to transmit no more string.My Question is why it calls TxHalfCpltCallback and not TxCpltCallback? and how should I handle it (because HAL reference says it waits for sending the second half of buffer! what?)And also, would sending the next half of data relase the gState of UART?#uart #dma

Posted on October 19, 2017 at 23:09I am reading multiple ADC channels on an STM32F0 using DMA.  I am reading the data into an array.  The data does not appear in the array in the order of ADC channel number.  It is my understanding that the F0 does not permit reordering the sequence of ADC channels.  What sequence do the 16 channels follow?#adc-poll #adc-reads #dma-adc #multichannel-adc #adc

Posted on October 29, 2017 at 14:00Interrupt not displayed in interrupt log in EWARM. I made a program to toggle the LED every 0.5 seconds by TIM 1 overflow interrupt, using  STM32F3348Dicovery and STM32Nucleo-F401RE. The picture below is part of the program and the interrupt log. An interrupt is displayed in the STM32Nucleo-F401RE interrupt log. But Nothing appears in the STM32F3348-Discovery interrupt log.Why?

Posted on October 29, 2017 at 13:17I am using STM32 Nucleo-F 401 RE and EWARM. I made a program to toggle the LED every 0.5 seconds by an interrupt due to overflow of the TIM1 counter. The picture below is the program and interrupt log. What does overflow in the interrupt log mean?

Posted on November 07, 2017 at 04:50I'd like to make and upload the firmware file into STM32F103C8 board by using UART.Especially, STM32F103C8 board have boot mode switch and uart connect.How to make firmware *.bin file to upload to STM32F103C8 by using MDK?

Posted on June 20, 2017 at 12:27Hello,I am a new for STM32.I bought Nucreo-L053R8 board, and installed latest Systemworkbench and STLink USB driver stsw-link009 on my PC. My OS is windows 8.1. I made a very short program and it could be compiled.When I connect Nucreo board to my PC, I can see it as 'USB BUS DEVICE-STM32 STLink'.Then I did run on Systemworkbench, then a window is opend and said 'OpenOCD Problem Occured, Reason: Wrong device detedted'.After few second, USB is disconnected and I can see it as unknown device.When I made the project, I select the device as L053.Console shows like following.-----------------------------------------Wrong device detected Open On-Chip Debugger 0.10.0-dev-00278-ga53935e-dirty (2017-05-09-09:25) Licensed under GNU GPL v2 For bug reports, read https://community.st.com/external-link.jspa?url=http%3A%2F%2Fopenocd.org%2Fdoc%2Fdoxygen%2Fbugs.html srst_only separate srst_nogate srst_open_drain connect_assert_srst Info : The selected transport too

Posted on November 05, 2017 at 12:04 I am trying to configure MPU in STM32F103RB using ARM Information Center. It says there that ' The base address must be aligned to the size of the region. For example, a 64KB region must be aligned on a multiple of 64KB, for example, at 0x00010000 or 0x00020000 .' Here's a link to that page, http://infocenter.arm.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.arm.doc.dui0552a/Cihjddef.html. What does this mean? I want to select a region of 64 bytes starting from 0x20000000. How can I do this? #stm32-nucleo #memory-protection #stm32f103rb
