Posted on May 17, 2018 at 00:50In AN4838 it states on page 7/16:The STM32F7 Series andSTM32H7 Series do not support hardware coherency. the S field is equivalent to non-cacheable memory.Aside from the typo, I find this information to be confusing.  Does this mean that in F/H7 series devices that the S bit determines the cache behavior and is inter changeable with the C bit?  Or is it ignored?  Or is the S field and the S bit two different things? Please clarify?

Posted on March 28, 2018 at 19:27When generating code using LL libraries for an STM32L011F4Ux MCU, I found that enabling DMA for USART2 RX and TX and selecting DMA channels 2 and 3 makes the Cube create non working code.I checked the RM for this MCU and at chapter 10.4.7 'DMA channel selection register (DMA_CSELR)' I saw that channels 2 and 3 are not the right ones for USART2.Anyway, the Cube lets you select the right channels (i.e. 4 and 5) and, with those, everything seems OK.Can you please check?Thanks,Andrea#stm32-cube #dma #stm32l011

Posted on May 17, 2018 at 08:41Hello . I am bit confused about STM32 HAL drivers packages and their versions.  i want to know the differences between KEIL software package Vs Cubemx fw version In keil it shows as 2.11 shown in below pic and the latest one available in cubemx software is 1.21 . my question is which one is newest ? if 1.21 , why it is not their in keil pack installer ?suppose if i want to create a project using keil but want to use 1.21 STM32 Cube fw drivers . how can i do that ?i know one option is launch cube mx software and mention ide as KEIL but i dont want use cubemx software. I just want to create a project using keil but use drivers given by 1.21. Thanks

Posted on September 02, 2016 at 15:52 Hey all! I am trying to see if I can eliminate the serial port version of MIDI and switch over to using USB MIDI controllers/keyboards instead. Searching on this forum (and Google as well), I see many attempts at creating this, mostly poorly documented and or proprietary (i.e. - MIOS), and other open source code that doesn't seem to survive the transition from GCC to KEIL, and the rest of what is available is written for SPL only. Is there an example of a USB MIDI ''Class-Compliant'' code that can be used on the USB-OTG port of STM32 Nucleo boards? Can an existing piece of code (like the USB Flash Drive FatFS 3rd-party examples in the v1.4.0 firmware) be modified to connect to USB ''Class-Compliant'' devices such as controllers or keyboards? Does it seem like a feasible task, or is it just too much work to get this to work on HAL? Does anybody have suggestions or ideas or comments about this subject? Thanks!! Christopher #usb-mid

Posted on May 12, 2018 at 05:47Hello - wrt the maximum total size of a BLE advertisement or scan response of 31 bytes:The BlueNRG-MS v7.2c Peripheral can generate either at max expected length. But when I run the BlueNRG-MS v7.2c Central, if the total length of either packet is > 18 bytes, then the corresponding ADV_IND or SCAN_RSP event is never received as a EVT_LE_ADVERTISING_REPORT event. The Central device of the embedded BLE stack of the 3 other vendor platforms I have evaluated can all receive up to the maximum total length of either the advertisement or scan response in addition to the BLE stacks on the iOS and Android devices. Is this observation caused by an error in my implementation of the ST BlueNRG Central, or is it a known and documented limitation? It is suspicious that the BlueNRG-MS Peripheral can produce either at the max length of 31 bytes, but the Central is limited to 18 bytes total. Even more suspicious is that the observed limit of 18 is less than a full length

Posted on May 02, 2018 at 19:09Hi all,I use a dsPIC33 MCU, but I am very familiar with the STM32 as well, so I used the ST25R Dicovery source code as an example.   The design is a PIC MCU and the ST25R3911B, (with our antenna circuitry following ST design suggestions).  I have the SPI port communication working well, and I can read/write to the ST25R registers from the MCU. 1. I currently call the initialization at power up (rfalAnalogConfigInitialize() and rfalInitialize()), with gets completed without errors.2. I now need to know what is the sequence of commands needed to talk to a tag.  We can talk to the tag (read/write) from the ST25R Dicovery PC GUI without problems, but I am not sure which commands need to be sent to achieve that in the embedded code, because I don't know the exact sequence of commands needed.  Here's what I do when I want to discover a tag placed on the antenna: a. I call iso15693Initialize() ... no error. (trying to imitate the '

Posted on May 14, 2018 at 19:23I am using cheap Chinese board with STM8103F3 chip.I want to use PC4,PC5,PC6 and PC7 pins as inputs connected do keys. With PC5-PC7 there is no problem. I configured them as pull-up input with interrupt, but PC4 is different. If I set interrupt for this pin, my program hungs.I unset interrupt and read GPIOC->IDR = 0xe8, which means that PC4 IDR bit is always 0.I read also CLK->CCOR =0x00 and TIM1->CR1 =0x00 so TIM1 and output clock is disabled. But earlier I use ADC1 with analog input 3 (port D2; ADC1->CSR|=0x03;)I don't use analog input 2 which is alternate function for PC4.I checked voltage on the pin = 3,29V (so pull-up works). So how to force PC4 to work like other PC5-PC7 pins with working ADC1 on another channel?

Posted on May 07, 2018 at 14:08With STM32F765 and MDK-ARM compiler ( O3 and compile for SPEED I was able to achieve 108Mhz on output pin, performing while loop ( just main() and all interrupt disabled ) .Now with STM32H743 with same compiler and same source maximum frequency is 16.7MHz , with PLL configured to have 400MHz clock ( tested on RCC_MCO2 output pin )Anyone know why ?Thanks

Posted on November 29, 2017 at 14:53 Good day everyone, I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm looking at this incorrectly, but It seems to be a bug. Posted on May 16, 2018 at 16:49Hello!I am trying to integrate STemWin graphic library into my project for STM32F7 discovery board, and cannot compile/link it correctly. After writing (copying) a simple hello world example and including all necessary files and paths- i get following errors:<path-to-toolchain>/arm-none-eabi/bin/ld: error: <path-to-cubePackage>/Middlewares/ST/STemWin/Lib/libSTemWin540_CM7_GCC_ARGB.a(FComic24B_ASCII.o) uses VFP register arguments, <build-path>/firmware.elf does notReferiing to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/9753749/arm-compilation-error-vfp-registered-used-by-executable-not-object-file it has something to do with compilation / linking flags and floating point unit. Since the library comes in prebuilt binary form, how can I know which compilation/linking flags to add to my program?Where should I look, to figure out how STemWin library (part of stm32cubeF7 package) is compiled?I am not using an OS, just stm32cube (HAL drivers / BSP). Posted on April 30, 2018 at 14:43 Simple demo application on the Nucleo-L476RG generated in CubeMX with HAL version 1. Nothing but USB Host and a few GPIOs for LEDs enabled. Posted on May 09, 2018 at 04:18I created a very basic LED toggle project for my nucleo-103rb board using CubeMX that targeted Makefile. I opened the software, selected the chip, set PA5 as GPIO Output and clicked generate code. I did not change any options. [well I did choose to only inlcude used libraries]. After generating the code, I edited the makefile to remove the well known, duplicate source files. I also added the path to my tool chain (gcc-arm-none-eabi-7-2017-q4-major from GNU Arm Embedded). I added 3 lines in the while(1) loop:int i; for (i = 1; i <= 262143; i++){}; HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_5);Overall, these are very minimal changes to the project generated from CubeMX. I connected to my nucleo-103rb board with openocd/gdb and loaded the elf file. The led indeed starts blinking, but then my debug session goes dead! Disconnecting the power and reconnecting to my PC does not restore my ability to connect to the debugger. To return debugger access, I have to load

Posted on May 09, 2018 at 15:46When I create a project in CubeMX 4.25.0 with the STM32F412G-DISCO board, the arduino pin assignments are all wrong.I have attached a partial screenshot of the CubeMX project showing the incorrect assignment and a screenshot of the user manual's pin assignment. Is this likely to be corrected in a future update?I don't think this is likely to cause problems as enabling the USART6 peripheral, for example, can't be set to D0 and D1 (PD14 & PD15) in CubeMX but it does cause a bit of confusion when trying to assign peripherals.Kind regardsAdam Hamilton

Posted on June 23, 2017 at 00:43Hello,I am having more or less the same kind of problems than the one in this post <LINK NO LONGER ACTIVE> I am trying a very simple program: a read IO block directly connected to a IO Write block. I started with Matlab R2015b, and after getting lots of errors I installed Matlab R2017a and now I am getting a different kind of errors, in particular this one: Attempt to call a non-function value: SLibModelInitFcnNameMore details:uVision 5.23STM32CubeMx 4.21STM32-MAT/TARGET 4.4.1IOC file generated using the STM32F334 Nucleo discovery board setup, this is also the board that I have.¿Is this really a problem related to my Matlab's version?¿Does a workaround exist?I find this whole setup process very absurd and time consuming. ¿Does this really pay off when is up and running? Here is the whole diagnostics prompt:The 'ARM CMSIS SIN COS' code replacement library includes the standard math library 'C89/C90 (ANSI)'.
