Hello,I modified the BLE Beacon example to send 5 beacon packets and then enter into the STOP2 mode. It is possible to wake-up and resend 5 packets when a button is activated. However, when the time is set, the MCU wakes-up, and freeze. The function UTIL_LPM_EnterLowPower() is used for entering low-power, and HAL_RTCEx_SetWakeUpTimer_IT() is used for setting the wake-up time. a few seconds are used as wake-up time. The wake-up is only verified by monitoring the current consumption increased from few µA to approx. 2.5mA after the time is elapsed. Beside that turning on one of the LEDs has been implemented in the RTC wake-up interrupt routine, and one just after the __WFI without it's being triggered. It has not been possible to debug, as the debug does not return until the execution is paused, and when it's paused the PC points on the next line of the __WFI instruction.Do you have any ideas of what the reason can be, or any suggestion on debugging?Best regards,Fatih

New question = New thread. Split from this post. Hi mƎALLEm, Thanks for the support, I was able to successfully perform UART-based flashing. For the actual use case, I need to flash the STM32F767ZI Nucleo using the CAN interface. I have a PEAK USB-to-CAN converter and an external CAN transceiver and ST-Link V2. According to AN2606 (Table 94), the STM32F767 series supports booting via the CAN2 interface when the appropriate boot pins are configured. The STM32CubeProgrammer User Manual also mentions CAN as a supported bootloader interface. However, in STM32CubeProgrammer, there is no option to select a CAN interface. Does the STM32F767ZI Nucleo actually include a CAN bootloader? Can a PEAK USB-to-CAN adapter be used for CAN flashing, or is an ST-Link V3 required since it provides a CAN bridge? Could you please suggest the correct method or recommended setup for implementing CAN-based flashing on the STM32F767ZI Nucleo? Thank you, Arun_Badiger.

Hi all,I'm currently designing a board that requires using an stm32h723 with USB HS (I need more bandwidth than FS allows). The stm32h723 I'm using doesn't expose pc2 or pc3, which are needed for ULPI DIR and NXT respectively. Instead, pc2_c and pc3_c are exposed as pins on the chip. These are internally connected to pc2/pc3 internally with an analog switch, but is this really sufficient for ULPI? The datasheet doesn't seem to be clear. The stm32h747 datasheet does specify using ULPI over pc2_c/pc3_c, which makes me think it's at least been considered. I'm curious why it doesn't seem to be specified in the stm32h723 datasheet (either specifying whether it will or won't work)I did find a few forum posts of people using pc2_c/pc3_c with USB, although it seemed like this had issues (including hardware damage, possibly of the analog switch itself). Thanks!

Hi, I have a problem with my CubeIDE installation that is that I cannot create a stm32 project(the option that integrates with CubeMX) I can only create the followingI've installed it from the shell script from the generic Linux download, I'm using arch Linux(btw).I've reinstalled it at least 3 times now, also went to Help -> Install New Software, used this site: And installed everything down the STM32CubeIDE section.

I have a project in which I try to sync my assembly code on a signal on a GPIO, using WFE for minimum latency and jitter.I use a Rust HAL ony for initialisation of the clock and to put some GPIOs into input mode, and one in output mode that I use to check the timings of my assembly code with an oscilloscope. The synchronization works (PA15 in input mode, using EXTI line 15 to send the wake-up event), but the WFE also wakes up at regular interval. Apparently every second when no debuger is connected, and maybe a bit slower when openocd / gdb is connected.I try to understand why it does wake-up, but really can't find anything. Here are the sources of wake-up I checked:- Interruptions:SEVONPEND is zero (gdb) x/t 0xE000ED10 0xe000ed10: 00000000000000000000000000000000 and if I replace the stack with $AAAAAAAAs, I see no trace of an interruption being called when the core wakes up.- Event on EXTI lines:EXTI_EMR1 and EXTI_EMR2 only activate Px15 (gdb) x/t 0x40010404 0x40010404: 00000000000000

Hi, I tried to set up and use HPDMA with ADC on my Nucleo-H7S3L8,but I have some questions about how to use it.I could not find documentation on using HPDMA with STM32 MCU, only for GPDMA.I found an HPDMA example for the Nucleo-H7S3L8 (ADC_SingleConversion_TriggerSW_HPDMA), but I don't get the logic. Why are both HAL_ADC_Start_DMA() and HAL_ADC_Start() used together? Normally, you'd just use HAL_ADC_Start_DMA(), right? Continuing from my previous question, if I want to modify this example to support multiple channels, Continuous Conversion Mode, and DMA circular mode, how should I do it?I tried modifying the ADC parameters to Continuous Conversion Mode and DMA circular mode, but it still only runs once. Then I tried enabling Circular Mode in HPDMA, but it gets stuck at HAL_ADC_Start_DMA.If possible, could you teach me how to modify it for multiple channels? I'm not sure whether to use End of single conversion or End of sequence of conversion. I have 9 channels.I'm also not sur

HiI have recently purchased the STEVAL-STWINBX1 (STWIN.box) board, and I’m exploring its use for predictive maintenance applications.I already know that FP-AI-PREDMNT2, together with DSH-PREDMNT, is available for the STEVAL-STWINKT1B kit.Could anyone let me know if a similar cloud application/dashboard (like DSH-PREDMNT) is officially available or supported for the STWINBX1 board?Any guidance or references would be much appreciated.Thanks.

Hello everyone,I’m looking for any Wi-Fi connectivity implementation examples for the STEVAL-STWINBX1 (STM32U5). Ideally, I’m searching for a solution that integrates with the eLooM framework, or at least a reference on how to properly add Wi-Fi tasks within eLooM.Specifically, I’m trying to find:Wi-Fi driver/task examples compatible with STWINBX1Any eLooM-based implementation of Wi-Fi or network communicationExample projects that connect to AWS IoT using Wi-Fi (HTTP)Documentation or sample code showing recommended methods for enabling Wi-Fi cloud communication on STWINBX1So far, I haven’t found a clear reference project for STWINBX1 + Wi-Fi, especially one supporting cloud connectivity or integrating with the eLooM architecture. If anyone can share links, example projects, or guidance on how to implement this, it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!Sajid

Hello, I am trying to use SAES with a wrapped key to decrypt firmware updates on an stm32u5g9vjtxq. I am not sure how I should be changing the InitVect in CRYP_AES_CBC mode after hcryp is already initialized with HAL_CRYP_Init.  To elaborate on what I am trying to do I have created a wrapped key that is being stored in OTP memory along with the IV used to encrypt / decrypt that wrapped key.  My bootloader calls HAL_CRYPEx_UnwrapKey using the OTP memory address of the wrapped key and the IV also stored in OTP.  I then want to change the IV to match that of what was used to encrypt the new firmware image, the unwrapped key is what was used to encrypt the firmware image.  I am not sure how to accomplish this without having to call HAL_CRYP_Init again...I think the second call to HAL_CRYP_Init looses the unwrapped key and replaces it with whatever is defined in hcryp.Init.KeySelect which I have set to CRYP_KEYSEL_HW.To summarize I need to be abl

I'm planning on moving from STM32F103 for more speed, so in advance of getting a board I thought I would try building an app for the STM32G431... so I found an small example project online that was using an OpAmp feature.Having got that compiled ok in STM32CubeIDE I backported my app source code into the project (which went ok), but compiling it was missing some definitions for HAL UART structures.Looking at "Drivers/STM32G4xx_HAL_Driver" in my original project and comparing it with "Drivers/STM32G4xx_HAL_Driver" in the new project I see that its missing some files like "stm32g4xx_hal_uart.h". Is it possible to force STM32CubeIDE to regenerate the Drivers subfolder from scratch?I always find switching a STM32CubeIDE project between different MCUs a harder job than it should be, e.g. it would be nice if there was a combo box listing MCUs in the project properties.

Tried running DMA with ADC simultaneously by configuring both in CubeMX, but I am not getting correct ADC values in the buffer. The sin wave from the signal generator is completely distorted. The ADC works individually without the DMA by filling the buffer through interrupts. The DMA is configured in circular mode. I even tried running the sample code of ADCgainCompensation from ST(modified a little to get values in a buffer), but had no success.

Hi and happy new year... I'm a complete beginner, and I'm facing a major problem.I've tried creating a new project in CubeID for an STM32F401CEUx.But the project "STM32 Project" doesn't appear in the list of new projects. The closest thing I find is one called "STM32CubeIDE Empty Project," and when I create a project using this template, the initial image of the chip where I configure the pins doesn't appear, and the IoT file isn't in the project tree either. Why could this be?

Hi,I am working with the STM32N6570-DK board. Initially, I am using the GPIO_IOToggle example project to verify the basic board functionality.I configured the hardware using STM32CubeMX v6.16 and generated the project using the STM32CubeIDE toolchain. The project was built successfully using STM32CubeIDE v2.0.0.When I run the project in debug mode from CubeIDE, the LED toggles correctly. However, the device does not boot when I flash the binary manually using STM32CubeProgrammer v2.21.0. Signing and Flashing DetailsI am using the following command to sign the output binary generated by CubeIDE:STM32_SigningTool_CLI -bin <path to fsbl project.bin file> -nk -t fsbl -hv 2.3 \-o <path to fsbl project-trusted.bin file> \-dump <path to fsbl project-trusted.bin file> -align After generating the trusted binary, I flash it at address 0x70000000 using STM32CubeProgrammer.Boot ConfigurationBOOT0 switch: position 1–2BOOT1 switch: position 1–3After flashing the trusted bi

Hello,I am using the STM32U5G9ZJTXQ with TouchGFX on a 4.3-inch display (480×272). The display works fine, but the touch is not working. The touch controller IC is GT911.

Hi everybodyI need some help to identify this ST micro diode , can anybody point me in the right direction please?I have tried searching for the numbers on the diode with no luck.regardswasim

Hello,i have a STM32F114 (Black Pill V3.0) and a strange timer problem. We all know that when setting the APB1 clock divisior is > 1, the APB1 timers gets twice as fast (2x, TIMPRE bit is not set). However, my timers are 4x when the divisor is > 2 (RCC_CFGR_PPRE1_DIV4, RCC_CFGR_PPRE1_DIV8, ...). It doesn't matter if i use HSI, HSE or PLL as sys clock source. My timer interrupt is twice as fast compared to a APB1 divisor of 1 or 2:APB1 divisor = 1: timer interrupt each 0.1 ms (10 KHz)APB1 divisor = 2: timer interrupt each 0.1 msAPB1 divisor = 4: timer interrupt each 0.05 ms (20 KHz)...I checked different frequencies (16 MHz, 48 MHz and 100 MHz sysclock). AHB and APB2 divisors are 1. I used two STM32F114 devices for testing. I double checked everything.  Code:// reset state assumed, HSI is 16 MHz unsigned long cfgr = RCC->CFGR; cfgr = (cfgr & ~RCC_CFGR_HPRE) | RCC_CFGR_HPRE_DIV1; // AHB clock = 16 MHz cfgr = (cfgr & ~RCC_CFGR_PPRE1) | RCC_CFGR_PPRE1_DIV8; // AP

Hello,I'm facing a issue with DMA2D to blend some images. From the naming ARGB means that the order of the colors should be Alpha, Red, Green and Blue. But if I have a PNG file which contains my image with Alpha, how I have to convert to a static image for my MCU to be able to work correctly  with it with DMA2D?Normally PNG is using RGBA format in big-endian. But if I'm converting this file to ARGB format and try to blend it over another image, it will work? Also I'm confused with endianess, because I know that ARM normally is using little-endian.Which is the best approach to load the image?A struct like this:typedef struct { uint8_t A: 8; uint8_t R: 8; uint8_t G: 8; uint8_t B: 8; } ARGB_TypeDef; typedef struct { const uint16_t width; const uint16_t height; ARGB_TypeDef *data; } FCU_Labels_TypeDef;Should work with DMA2D which requires uint32_t data for source and destination? Thanks.

Hello ST Community,I am writing to report a serious regression in STM32CubeMX 6.16.0 running on Arch Linux (KDE Plasma) with a 1920x1080 resolution.Environment:OS: Arch Linux (Rolling)Java: OpenJDK 25Desktop: KDE Plasma (Wayland/X11)Screen Resolution: 1920x1080The Regression (Comparison):1. STM32CubeMX 6.15.0 (Previous Version):Status: Works perfectly out-of-the-box.Details: I did not need to modify any configuration files or set any environment variables. The application launched correctly, the UI was usable, and the window could be resized and maximized without issues.2. STM32CubeMX 6.16.0 (Current Version):Status: Unusable / Broken.Details:The default UI rendering has issues (fonts are tiny or behavior is inconsistent). When trying to fix it using standard scaling methods (e.g., _JAVA_OPTIONS="-Dsun.java2d.uiScale=2" or GDK_SCALE=2), the window management breaks. The window refuses to maximize, enter full screen, or resize properly. It seems internal window constraints have been chang

Hi Team,I was working on STM32F103C8T6 Bluepill board. I was using this board with ST-LinkV2 to connect with CubeIDE. When i tried to flash a sample LED blink program via CubeIDE, it gave an error saying 'Target not found'. But at the same time i was able to connect this board via cube programmer using same ST-Link and write sample LED code into the board. I have also tried to put the board into DFU mode by changing BOOT0 to 1 and connected with a usb cable to my linux machine. when i tried 'lsusb' it didnt show DFU mode status of the board. Please help me to resolve this issue.

I created project in stmcube32mx for h5 microcontroller and it works if I manually replace bl main to bl entryin file startup_stm32h563zitx.s.If this manual replacing is a bug or on purpose?Jan

Hi Sir,Does any STM32 MCU support two independent USB 2.0 High-Speed (480 Mbps) interfaces simultaneously? I have observed that current H7 parts limit the second core to Full-Speed only. Do any newer series support true dual-HS operation?Thank you.

Hi everyone,I’m setting up LVGL on a custom PCB using an STM32H747BIT MCU. The display is connected via LVDS, and I’m using DMA2D for transferring the framebuffer to the screen.The issue I’m facing is that the DMA2D transfer complete callback is never triggered, and as a result, lv_disp_flush_ready() is not called and the buffer is not pushed to the display.Below is the relevant initialization code: lv_init(); lv_tick_set_cb(HAL_GetTick); //FIXME: per ThreadX fer servir tx_time_get disp = lv_display_create(LV_DISPLAY_HORIZONTAL_RES, LV_DISPLAY_VERTICAL_RES); lv_display_set_buffers(disp, buf1, NULL, sizeof(buf1), LV_DISPLAY_RENDER_MODE_PARTIAL); hdma2d.XferCpltCallback = disp_flush_complete; lv_display_set_flush_cb(disp, my_flush_cb);The my_flush_cb() function is as follows:void my_flush_cb(lv_display_t * display, const lv_area_t * area, uint8_t * px_map) { lv_coord_t width = lv_area_get_width(area); lv_coord_t height = lv_area_get_height(area); SCB_CleanInvalidateDCache();

Hello,I am working on a custom board derived from the STM32MP157F-DK2 reference design and currently validating the basic bring-up.I have a few questions specifically related to the Cortex-M4 (MCU) core on STM32MP157F:Checking MCU execution via JTAG/SWDUsing the JTAG/SWDIO pins, how can I confirm whether the Cortex-M4 core is running or halted? Are there recommended tools or procedures (e.g., STM32CubeProgrammer, OpenOCD, ST-Link) to attach to the M4 core independently of the A7 cores and verify execution status? MCU startup code responsibilityDoes the Cortex-M4 require a separate startup/application binary (startup code, linker script, vector table), or is this handled automatically as part of the Yocto/OpenSTLinux build? In other words, does Yocto provide and load a default M4 firmware, or is it expected that we build and deploy an M4 firmware separately (for example using STM32CubeIDE)? Boot flow clarificationAt what stage is the M4 core released from reset? Is this controlle

Hi All, I'm building an instrument that needs to stream data to a PC at ~4Mbps. People were claiming nearly twice this with USB CDC so I chose the nucleo-h533 board and started with the Ux_Device_CDC_ACM example. I disconnected the USART code and added a loop that calls ux_device_class_cdc_acm_write and then I measure the rate at which I receive data on the PC. I can't get past ~1.8Mbps. I have tried the following: varying the size of the buffer passed in from 64 to 2048 enabling ZERO copy in the driver UX_DEVICE_ENDPOINT_BUFFER_OWNER=1 and defining UX_DEVICE_CLASS_CDC_ACM_ZERO_COPY setting USBD_CDCACM_EPINCMD_FS_BINTERVAL to 1 instead of 5 In all cases, the baud rate remains about the same at 1.8Mbps. Is there anything I can do to improve this? Best, Marc
