I work on an STM32F407G-DISC1 pedometer project, in which the program is supposed to use built-in lis3dsh accelerometer via SPI to detect and count steps and display the number of steps on the screen (ILI9341 SPI).I have tested my screen code, and it works properly, so problem lies in how I use accelerometer or detect steps.To detect steps, I read lis3dsh registers with 100HZ frequency by making a call to SPI from a 100HZ timer interrupt. These snippets are interrupt and timer configuration respectively.void HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef* htim) { if (htim->Instance == TIM2) { if ((draw_ready == 1) && (accelerometer_ready == 1)) { accelerometer_read_all_axes_dma(xyz_data, &hspi1); } } //else if (htim->Instance == TIM3) { // if (draw_ready == 1) { //steps_count += 1; //update_lcd_flag = 1; // } //} }static void MX_TIM2_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN TIM2_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END TIM2_Init 0 */ TIM_ClockConfigTyp

When using USB CDC to communicate via USART, and interacting with USART data, in code is it recommended to interact with it at the USB side, or to interact with it at the USART side? From what I can tell, both offer both polling and interrupt methods. The USART offers DMA access, but apart from that it's not clear what, if any, tradeoffs there are between USB CDC and USART.

Github link to code    Hi everyone, I am currently working on a project with the NUCLEO-L432KC board, trying to interface a generic SPI MicroSD Card module (the standard blue one, powered via 5V). I am stuck with the FatFS error FR_NOT_READY (Error 3) during f_mount. After extensive troubleshooting, I suspect a hardware failure on the MISO pin (PA6), but I would like a sanity check on my diagnosis before I remap the pins. Hardware Setup: Board: NUCLEO-L432KC (STM32L432) SD Module: Generic SPI adapter (Powered via 5V VIN pin) Wiring: CS: PB6 (D5) SCK: PA1 (A1) MOSI: PA7 (A6) MISO: PA6 (A5) <-- The problematic pin Software Configuration: IDE: STM32CubeIDE FatFS: _MAX_SS and _MIN_SS set to 512. SPI1: Master, Prescaler 256 (Low speed for init), CPOL Low, CPHA 1 Edge. The Issue & Diagnostics: The communication fails at the very beginning. When sending CMD0 to wake up the card, the SPI RX buffer always returns 0x00 instead of 0xFF (Idle) or 0x01 (Su

I've downloaded archive "en.STM32CubeExpansion_Crypto_v4.0.1.zip", now I'm trying to install it in STM32CubeMX with "From Local..." feature, but I'm getting error. How can I install the library in CubeMX?Thank you.

Hi Starting my first project testing VSCode integration of ST tools instead of using Eclipse... Just reporting an issue with build analyzer, it is indicating that I have 188% of FLASH used...The compiler output gives the correct information:It seems an issue parsing the map or elf file to operate the tool.

It is very inconvenient to have regenerated C files in C++ project.Problem is not main.c only, *_it.c as well. In C++ project one have to call methods of class from interrupt handlers. It is not possible to make directly from *_it.c. Indirect call chain is lost of time.I renamed main.c to main.cpp in C++ project, made call from main.cpp to method of class. All is OK.Flashed microcontroller with main.cpp, all is working.ST done great work to support C++. And made it useles by generating new code to C files. Why not to generate code in C++ project to CPP files?

Hi,I have some CubeMX-generated code which works properly. Originally it was created to run from default address 0x08000000.Now I have a bootloader at address 0x08000000 which is responsible for handling updates and other stuff and then jumps into the target-code, so I moved that code via linker script to 0x08020000. This also works fine, the code works as desired. In a next step I decided to have some additional information stored in flash prior to the CubeMX generated code to make it easier for the bootloader to manage firmware versions, so I shifted the code by additional 128 bytes and now have the following section in my linker script:MEMORY { FLASH_BOOT (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08000000, LENGTH = 128K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08020080, LENGTH = 1024K - 128K - 128 EEPROM_EMUL (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x080E0000, LENGTH = 128K DTCMRAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128K RAM_D1_DMA (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x24000000, LENGTH = 64K RAM_D1 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x24010000, LENGTH = 320K - LEN

Would writing to the crossbar registers (SETx1R, RSTx1R, SETx2R, RSTx2R of all 6 timers) on every PWM cycle (max 200kHz) affect long term reliability? I'm running this in an interrupt routine for a power converter and I'm wondering if doing this would make sense to have a more consistent processor delay. Preload is enabled on all 6 timers and master timer. Register updates on timers 1-6 occur on master timer register update.

On the X-LINUX-QT Starter Package Wiki page it states "The X-LINUX-QT expansion package compatible with ecosystem release v6.1.0 provides only the Distribution package, which can be used to generate the Starter and Developer packages".Has anyone generated the QT starter package in v6.1.0?The image produced by "bitbake st-image-qt package-index" launches with the GTK starter package, not the QT starter package.

I am trying to use the gprof editor/viewer within cubeide but it doesn't work, everything just freezes then crashes with no error messages, i also found nothing in the logsI'm trying to use gprof profiling arm-none-eabi-gprof.exe, i have my code instrumented and got a valid gmon.out file, it is small ~15kb, the file is valid as i can process is manually with gprof.exe and get a textual representation of the profiling data. However i don't want text output, i want the included viewer in the cubeide, to see in a nice tree view the data, i have the option to open the gmon.out file with the gprof editor but when i do, it asks for the corresponding elf file then after that everything freezes then crash. What am i doing wrong? Is this expected to work at all? Did anyone use it?Cube ide1.18 stm32f429 discovery project

Hi everyone,I’m trying to interface an ST25R100 NFC reader with my MCU, and I’m having trouble reading ISO15693 tags. My initialization seems to work, but I never get any response from the tag. Hello,in our application, running on a H533RET6 and with no TZ enabled, we need to close debug ports in production.I preliminarly did some tests using CubeProgrammer: I generated password-based credentials (obk+bin files, which as far as I understand from AN6008 is the only option when not in TZ) and successfully managed to lock the device by moving from PRODUCT_STATE Open (0xED) to Provisioning (0x17), supplying the .obk file and then lock the device (PRODUCT_STATE = 0x72). After verifying that debug ports were closed, I unlocked the device by making a discovery and providing the bin file, with the device returning into Open state. Note that the first 3 32-bit words of my obk file are:0x00, 0x01, 0xfd, 0x0f, 0x60, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00Showing that the address base is the secure OBK base address and that  the encryption is on (as it should be in my device, again as far as I understand). So far so good, but know I would like to move at least the encryption process

My ST32N6 Discovery apparently works very well, however, when I enter the AI demo, the camera screen goes black, and two red LEDs light up on the RGB LEDs next to the connector. If I remove the camera, the DEMO alerts that there is no camera. There is no LED on the camera module to indicate its status. Are there any tests I can do to check if the camera is damaged?Unfortunately, I can no longer return it, as it has been more than 60 days since I received it and only today was I able to take the time to do a more in-depth study of the camera.

I'm trying to enable USART transmission (TX only for now) via DMA, but when I call HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA, the transfer doesn't seem to start at all and HAL_UART_TxCpltCallback is never called.I've configured everything through CubeMX: enabled USART with DMA, enabled FreeRTOS, and enabled interrupts. Without DMA, transmission works fine using HAL_UART_Transmit, but when I switch to HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA, nothing happens.I can't figure out what the problem might be. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here's my main code:/* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2026 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE fi

Dear Sir/Madam,We used the STM32F072C8T6 processor in a project we carried out for the railway sector, and as stated in the link below, we currently need a SIL certificate to be able to submit it to the auditing firm.Link: https://www.st.com/resource/en/product_presentation/stm32_stm8_functional-safety-packages.pdf

With CubeIDE 1.x iterative development is simple1 Start CubeIDE and create new project. It is possible to select C++ project option at project start (without any effect)2 With Device Configuration Tool create initial perifery config. It is possible to open second windows for it and have two separate windows side by side. Generate code.3 Switch to first window and work with generated code4 If need new device, switcn to second window, add new device, config it and generate code.5 In first window regenerated code is created in sync with Configuration Tool. Convenient and logical steps. Great work! How iterative development can be done with CubeIDE 2.0?

What I want to achieve:During startup all code is verified, starting with SMiRoT (as root-of-trust) then SMuRoT, then SecureManager then non-secure application. If the application has been modified (vberification fails) the startup shall end in system bootloader.Unfortunately, this does not work as our tampered/modified non-secure application is still started/executed instead of jumping into bootloader.Secure manager is installed with the provisioning script. We have modified the BOOT_UBE setting via TrustedPackageCreator from 0xB4 (OEM-iRoT - user flash) to 0xC3 (ST-iRoT - system flash) and re-generated Option_Bytes.csvWhat I see is that when connecting the STM32CubeProgrammer, the value for BOOT_UBE still shows 0xB4.And in the log during SFI flashing (provisioning.py -v --sfi-flash) it shows this:DEBUG - Warning: Option Byte: BOOT_UBE, value: 0xB4, was not modified.DEBUG - Warning: Option Bytes are unchanged, Data won't be downloadedDEBUG - Time elapsed during option Bytes config

Hello, I am using STPM34 smart metering chip to read 230 VAC voltages and currents. I am using 3 chips on 1 board:First 2 STPM34 measure 3 phases of 230 VAC voltages and currents, 3 STPM34 measures 16 multiplexed current channels and no voltage.I am communicating with all chips via SPI interface, I use CRC to verify communication. I also use auto Latch function on all chips and 2x current gain on all channels, these are all the settings I change every time it powers on. The problem I face is after long working time, from a few days to a week, I start to get wrong values from some chips. Sometimes I get wrong voltages, sometimes wrong currents. Currently I am getting 428 V on voltage channel that is measuring 250 VAC on a device that runs for 12 days. Previously I was getting 0 A on a current channels of a device that was running for 5 days. It depends on device that I use. I have 5 PCBs with assembled devices, currently testing 2 on long run and both return wrong values after some

# External Loader Issue: STM32U5G9ZJT6Q + MX25L12833FZNI-10G (Quad-SPI)## 1. Problem SummaryHello, I'm a novice developer who recently started working with embedded systems. I've been struggling significantly with implementing an external loader for several weeks now...I'm developing an external loader for **MX25L12833F** (16MB Quad-SPI NOR Flash) connected to **STM32U5G9ZJT6Q** via OCTOSPI1, but it continuously fails in STM32CubeProgrammer. The loader compiles successfully and generates a `.stldr` file, but programming operations fail. The problem is sector erase. Writing, reading, verification, and mass erase all function normally, but only sector erase does not work properly. What could be the reason? __attribute__((used)) int SectorErase(uint32_t EraseStartAddress, uint32_t EraseEndAddress) { OSPI_RegularCmdTypeDef sCommand; uint32_t SectorAddr; uint8_t status_before = 0; uint8_t status_after = 0; g_erase_input_start = EraseStartAddress; g_erase_input_end = EraseEndAddre

Hello, ADC_CR_ADCALLIN is described as "rw" . The procedure given in RM0456: 33.4.8 Extended calibration mode does not explicit recommend to reset ADC_CR_ADCALLIN after the procedure. I think it is helpfull to add in RM0456.

Can multiple versions of a software be installed on one computer or system? The latest version I recently downloaded doesn't include MX. Should I install version 1.19.0, or use the uninstallation method for version 2.0.0?

I work on a pedometer project, which uses built-in accelerometer and an LCD screen (ILI9341). The screen code works fine, but I struggle to get the pedometer part to work. I suspect there might something wrong with how I initialized the accelerometer, since it outputs weird values.I use an stm32f407g-disc1 board with built-in accelerometer, which I communicate with via SPI. I find the values it returns very weird, since I don't move the device at the moment. Shouldn't they be close to zero since there is no acceleration? Moreover, they don't change when I shake the device slightly, although it may be because the acceleration is not big enough to be detected. Another problem is that mag value changes all the time, although x,y,z don't change.Valuesmain functionint main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. *
