Hello we are using STM32mp153 for multiple products, and I'm considering buiding a generic TF-A bootloader with one device tree with all the clocks enabled for all the peripherals. I would like to do this in order to make it more generic across our portfolio.Does this come with any potential problems down the line?

I Have STM32F746 Disco and i have a memory section that sould be initialized to zero.and the aim behind this is to keep the memory content whenever the board is rest.but unfortanlty, this section is being clear every time i restart the debuger.the section is holding structure which is defined as the following:PROBE_strExceptionInfoType objstrExceptionInfo __attribute__ ((section (".ramException")));i tried the same criteria with STM32F3 and STM32F4 and it worked but it didn't work with STM32F7the linker is attached.Any idea?Best Regards,

Hi,I use STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe on windows. I can use it from python like that:process = subprocess.Popen( ["STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe","-l"], text = True, shell=True, cwd=self.cubeProgPath,stdout=subprocess.PIPE)How can I use it on Ubuntu? On Ubuntu in installation folder of CubeProgrammer I found "STM32_Programmer_CLI (size 2.6 MB) is that what I am looking for? How can I run it from terminal? When I open terminal in that destinantion and write and write "STM32_Programmer_CLI" it returns command not foundThank you for any help.

Is there a possibility to fire DMA transfer on a positive edge on the GPIO pin (PA3) ?

Hi. I have a board: SparkFun Thing Plus - STM32 - SparkFun DEV-17712Can I run the project directly via USB on this board? In stm32cubeprogrammer, I connect normally via USB, unfortunately in STM32CubeIDE, I have an error: No ST-Link Detected. I don't have the st-link / v2 programmer.

Hey, mechatronics student here. So ive been trying to make the transition from Arduino to STM32 lately, and am a little overwhelmed by hardware-oriented programming. So I can get things like Blink running, and know my way around C good enough to have done some smaller things already, but I want to start using little more complex peripherals now.I thought about using a 240x240 TFT display, driven with the ST7789 chip, and I wanted to do very basic things for the beginnning - like painting dots (single pixels) for the beginning. But thats where it already starts to get a little too complex for me. With the Arduino, you have libraries and those libraries (like TinyTFT for the Arduino) handle the communication to the peripheral (TinyTFT is utilizing SPI aswell), so you just need to tell it what to do - paint a pixel, row 2 column 6 or whatever. So my first guess is that I would need to write such functions similar as in said libraries myself - no problem, effortwise. Now ive read through the

I need the RTC module to be enabled in order to write to & read from backup registers on STM32F401 using these functions:void HAL_RTCEx_BKUPWrite(RTC_HandleTypeDef *hrtc, uint32_t BackupRegister, uint32_t Data) uint32_t HAL_RTCEx_BKUPRead(RTC_HandleTypeDef *hrtc, uint32_t BackupRegister)However, the datasheet states that the lowest backup battery drain current (IDD_VBAT, typ. 0.1uA) can be achieved when RTC and LSE are off.So is there a way to use the backup registers as a general memory while RTC is off?

I used the STM32CubeIDE for 3 years on a Windows10 PC. After installing the 8-bit ST_Tools (STM8CubeIDE,...) on the same PC the connection to a NUCLEO-64 (STM32-G431RB) does no longer work. Now STM32CubeProgrammer reports "No ST-Link detected". However, I don't know if the STM8 installation is related to the problem.Solution attempt: download and re-install the latest STM32CubeProgrammer (v2.11.0) ST-Link drivers (STSW-LINK009). The install wizard reported a successful driver installation (see screenshot). However, the issue"No ST-Link detected" persists, and new drivers are listed by the Windows Device Manager (see screenshot). Please suggest potential solutions to try. Thank you.

I read in this document about the concept of BLE slot allocation. I experimented with 5 STM32WB boards, one as master the four as slaves), and encountered an error I didn't understand.The master issued `aci_gap_create_connection` to each of the four slaves with the following parameters:Common parameters:LE_Scan_Interval: 96 (which means 96 * 0.625 = 60 ms)LE_Scan_Window: 96 (same as above)Conn_Interval_Min: 48 (48 * 1.25 = 60 ms)Conn_Interval_Max: 48 (same as above)Conn_Latency: 0Slave1:Minimum_CE_Length: 0Maximum_CE_Length: 0Slave2:Minimum_CE_Length: 14 (14 * 0.625 = 8.75 ms)Maximum_CE_Length: 14Slave3:Minimum_CE_Length: 28 (28 * 0.625 = 17.5 ms)Maximum_CE_Length: 28Slave4:Minimum_CE_Length: 43 (43 * 0.625 = 26.875 ms)Maximum_CE_Length: 43If I understand the document correctly, the first connection (to slave1) will make the anchor period 60 ms, and the subsequent connections won't change that as Conn_Interval_Min and Conn_Interval_Max are the same for all connections.All four connecti

According to datasheet, STM32H7B0VBT have 1024Kb of AXI SRAM, it is defined in STM32H7B0VBTX_FLASH.ld. But for some reason the same memory is limited to 128Kb in STM32H7B0VBTX_RAM.ld. I modify linker scripts according to my needs, but maybe I missing something. Is it just an usage example, or there was some reason for assigning only 128Kb?

Does it have a linux driver and is it supported? How can I use it?

I'm using MSIS at 24 MHz for everything, like this: SET_BIT(RCC->CR, RCC_CR_MSISON); while (0 == (RCC->CR & RCC_CR_MSISRDY)); SET_BIT(RCC->ICSCR1, RCC_ICSCR1_MSIRGSEL); MODIFY_REG(RCC->ICSCR1, RCC_ICSCR1_MSISRANGE, RCC_ICSCR1_MSISRANGE_0);   // enable 32kHz clock crystal SET_BIT(PWR->DBPR, PWR_DBPR_DBP); // enable write access to backup domain MODIFY_REG(RCC->BDCR, RCC_BDCR_LSEDRV, RCC_BDCR_LSEDRV_0); // medium-low drive power SET_BIT(RCC->BDCR, RCC_BDCR_LSESYSEN); // enable propagation to other peripherals (like LPTIM4) SET_BIT(RCC->BDCR, RCC_BDCR_LSEON); // LL_RCC_LSE_Enable while (0 == READ_BIT(RCC->BDCR, RCC_BDCR_LSERDY)); // wait until ready   // use it to trim the MSIS oscillator MODIFY_REG(RCC->CR, RCC_CR_MSIPLLSEL, RCC_CR_MSIPLLSEL); SET_BIT(RCC->CR, RCC_CR_MSIPLLEN);   // set MSIS as system clock MODIFY_REG(RCC->CFGR1, RCC_CFGR1_SW, 0); while (0 != READ_BIT(RCC->CFGR1, RCC_CFGR1_SWS)); /* Wait until syste

Hello, actually, our processor STM32MP153 (dual core) is completely full with the "normal" memory regions regarding the MCUs (M4) code and data. So now, we decided to add the RETRAM_data form ORIGIN = 0x00001000, LENGTH = 0x0000F000 /*60k*/The linker works as expected but if I start a DMA transfer with variables placed inside this area, the DMA stucks directly with a transfer error. The same code but placed in the RAM1_dataORIGIN = 0x10030000, LENGTH = 0x00010000 /* 64K*/works fine.I know this problem only if the area is not accessible by the DMA as on the H7 but if I have a look at the memory layout and master/slave bus matrix, both DMA should be able to send data from the RetRAM.Any ideas what could lead to this problem? I checked also to place the segment at 0x38000000 but this leads to a linux boot stuck. My actual workaround is to place variables not used by the DMA into the RetRAM section .bss1 with the __attribute__((section (".bss1")))command. This works but, this is my next smal

I want to use CAN Bus in STM32F042F4 (TSSOP20). In the data sheet it says, CAN_RX on PA11 Pin 17, CAN_TX on PA12 Pin 18.When trying to configure in CubeMX, CAN function is greyed out and the pinout has not PA11 and PA12. Isn't it possible to use CAN in STM32F042F4 TSSOP20 device? Best regardsHarald

I want to use a STUSB4500LBJR for USB-C power delivery. On the datasheet stands that connecting the I2C lines is optional and in another datasheed of the STUSB4500 stands that I don't have to use a microcontroller. But I cannot find information about choosing a voltage output I want from the STUSB4500 on the internet.

Hi,I am using ST-LINK_CLI for flashing mcu via ST-Link ->SWD. In ST-Link utility can be set Reset mode (SW,HW,Core). How can I set this parameter in ST-Link_CLI ? I did not find anything in documentation.Or is there any better tool to control STLink via command line? Actually I use it to control it from python...Thank you, Jan.

I am currently working on a project to program a PLC. This one already has a program to control its operation. We are using the Nucleo board STM32F302RBT6. The goal is to extend the program to be able to integrate the uart communication. Unfortunately I can't configure the uart using the normal method on stmcubeMx because it would already damage the current control program. For the configuration I have chosen another method, that of copying all the lines of codes of configuration of the uart in my current program. In the files main.c, stm32f3xx_hal_msp.c and  stm32f3xx_hal_conf.h I added all the necessary configurations as they appear in the uart configuration with stmcubeMx. In addition I added the stm32f3xx_hal_uart.c, stm32f3xx_hal_uart_ex.c, stm32f3xx_ll_usart.h, stm32f3xx_hal_uart.h,  stm32f3xx_hal_uart_ex.h files in the drivers where they belong. Unfortunately the uart communication still does not work and when I compile my program I get the following error: Break at ad

Hi,I'm using the NUCLEO-64 STM32L476RG and I am aware that it is very simple to start the ADC to get a reading in an analog port. One should however wait for the conversion to complete and the HAL library has the HAL_ADC_PollForConversion() function that can be called with a timeout value. However, HAL_ADC_PollForConversion() enters in a loop until the ADC finishes conversion; and I would like to release the CPU to perform other tasks (in FreeRTOS) while the conversion happens. Thus, I am thinking about calling HAL_ADC_PollForConversion() with a 0 timeout value and call osDelay(1) if the return is HAL_TIMEOUT. (This would be repeated until the return is HAL_OK.)However, I noticed in the HAL_ADC_PollForConversion code that a timeout causes the following two lines to be called: /* Update ADC state machine to timeout */ SET_BIT(hadc->State, HAL_ADC_STATE_TIMEOUT); /* Process unlocked */ __HAL_UNLOCK(hadc);Would this prevent the ADC to complete the conversion process?W

In stm32mp157c-ed1.dts, the MPU pin setting is written in the stm32mp15-pinctrl.dtsi file, but in CubeMX, a node called @pinctrl is created in the generated .dts file and written in it.Why?Can I delete this part and create a ***.pinctrl.dtsi file?

I am having issues getting the status flag polling mode to work when I try to poll with a QuadSPI command that uses all four data lines for the instruction. When using a command with a 4-line instruction in this mode, it polls the first command correctly, but the second command has one fewer clock cycles than expected, and then the chip select never goes high again. I've tried getting this to work with multiple configuration settings, but the common denominator seems to be the 4-line instruction causing the issue. QSPI_HandleTypeDef hqspi = { .Instance = QUADSPI, .Init.ClockPrescaler = 63, .Init.FifoThreshold = 1, .Init.SampleShifting = QSPI_SAMPLE_SHIFTING_NONE, .Init.FlashSize = 1, .Init.ChipSelectHighTime = QSPI_CS_HIGH_TIME_1_CYCLE, .Init.ClockMode = QSPI_CLOCK_MODE_0, .Init.FlashID = QSPI_FLASH_ID_1, .Init.DualFlash = QSPI_DUALFLASH_DISABLE, };   QSPI_CommandTypeDef qspiCmd = { .Instruction = 0x05, .Address = 0x00000000, .AlternateBytes = 0x00000000, .AddressSize
