Hi all,The development board we are using STM32MP157C-YA157C from Myirtech is running Ubuntu 18 with openstlinux.I am trying to interface the usart1 with another module but by default, the peripheral is not enabled from device tree.So, I modified the device tree as follows (pins z6 and z7 are used by usart1) according to the document of ST :   usart1_pins_a: usart1-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 7, AF7)>; /* UART1_TX */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <0>; }; pins2 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 6, AF7)>; /* UART1_RX */ bias-disable; }; }; usart1_idle_pins_a: usart1-idle-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 7, ANALOG)>; /* UART1_TX */ }; pins2 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 6, AF7)>; /* UART1_RX */ bias-disable; }; }; usart1_sleep_pins_a: usart1-sleep-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 7, ANALOG)>, /* UART1_TX */ <STM32_PINMUX('Z', 6, ANALOG)>; /* UART1_RX */ }; };&usart1 { pinctrl-names = "default

I have a 1Hz square wave signal with a 50 % duty cycle going into a pin on the MCU. The pin on the MCU (PA0) is configured to be TIM2_ETR via the STM MX Cube tool. I am expecting to go into TIM2_IRQHandler() every second, i.e. every positive edge of the external clock. However, I don't, I just go in TIM2_IRQHandler once just after startup. Any ideas as to why this is happening ?

Hello everyone! I'm using the STM32MP157F-DK2 and the OpenSTlinux Distribution package with a set of Yocto recipes that do not affect the Linux kernel. I have written a program for the Cortex-M4 core and created a device tree in CubeMX. Then, I built my OpenSTlinux distribution based on my device tree from CubeMX (based on guide "How to compile the device tree with the Distribution Package"). Initially, everything works fine, and I have a fully functional Linux distribution and a working program for the Cortex-M4. However, if I want to stop the execution of the Cortex-M4 firmware and try to run it again, nothing happens. It's as if I'm running a firmware that does nothing. Only reboot helps. In my program, I use UART3, SPI5, several timers, GPIO ports, and OpenTTY Virtual UART for communication between A7 and M4 cores. I suspect the issue might be related to clock configuration, but I haven't found a way to diagnose this problem in more detail yet. I hope someone here can help me.

Hi FolksI am doing some test to see if it worth to start using AzureRTOS on a new system we're going to develop.I have a serial stream coming from a device (RTCM stream) that need to be read by a MCU and then sent over a UDP stream.The UDP/Net part is (almost ok), while i'm struggling a bit to port a uart manager i wrote in the past for FreeRTOS.The uart from the device is a bit tricky and i receive frequently fragmented packet that need to be reassembled to be correctly decoded by a parser.With FreeRTOS i used to do that with stream-buffers or queues , where UART DMA RX isr pushes in half and cplt events the received bytes on the streambuffer (or queue).If the amount of received bytes was not hit by the half or cplt event i have a last-byte timeout timer that when triggered just push the remaining bytes on the same streambuffer.As example, the uart receiveve was launched with size=64 in circular mode.Every half or cpltd events 32 bytes was sent to the streambuffer, and let's say that

Hey all,I am wondering if anyone has some insight into why i cannot get a usb connection working (trying as HID).I can power up and debug the MCU (STM32F103RBT6), but cannot get the USB to connect.For the HSI I am using 10pF for C1 and C2, and a 1000 ohm resistor for Rext (Rosc). My oscillator is the 7M16000024 (16Mhz, 10pF load capacitance according to https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/txc-corporation/7M16000024/5954370 )I have been following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj1_hsQ5PR0&t=877 to get a USB connection happening (which fails to connect).Some images below show the circuit and i hope are useful.

I'm trying to redesign the STM32F100RBT6B without ST-LINK. something I did from the STM32VLDISCOVERY schematic file. but the redesigned hardware was not working with STM32 ST-LINKER UTILITY. For your reference, I have attached a schematic file  showing the error: 16:19:07: Can not connect to Target!Please select "Connect Under Reset" mode from Target->Settings menu and try again. If you're trying to connect to a low-frequency application, please select a lower SWD Frequency mode from Target->Settings menu.16:29:02: No target connected

Is there a schematic or a reference design similar to the one used for the Neucleo boards?  I'm thinking of spinning up my own board instead of using a neucleo, and wanted to include design elements like the debug link, boot loader link, oscillators, caps. etc.    My other option is just to use the datasheet for design recommendations to make my own board, and add debugging and firmware update connections to I can use CubeMX to prototype and then use a serial connection to allow firmware updates on production build.

Can someone tell me if/where the content that used to be in the open repository is now available? The open repository appears to have been recently wiped. https://github.com/touchgfx/touchgfx-open-repository/I'm also curious to know why it was wiped?

Greetings,I am trying to read register 0x00 through 0x0F on an I2C enabled Chip (Si4703) I have got the reset set up and working but my I2C is not working as I am unfamiliar with the HAL protocols I have created a number of variable pointers to store data   /* USER CODE BEGIN PV */ int16_t *DeviceID_ptr; int16_t *ChipID_ptr; int16_t *PowerCFG_ptr; int16_t *Channel_ptr; int16_t *SYSConfig1_ptr; int16_t *SYSConfig2_ptr; int16_t *ReadChan_ptr; int16_t *StatusRSSI_ptr; /* USER CODE END PV */   Fruther on in the main loop I am trying to get to read the data at just register 0x00    /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ while (1) { buf[0] = DeviceID_ptr; /* USER CODE END WHILE */ // pass buffer as a character pointer //strcpy((char*)buf, "Hello!\r\n"); //HAL_UART_Transmit(&hlpuart1, buf, strlen((char*)buf), HAL_MAX_DELAY); //HAL_Delay(1000); // save return values of errors // transmit I2C values ret

Hi everyone,Do you think there is any reason why a set of instructions (20 lines max.), including UART transmission, works fine within the while(1) block but it doesn't work if that exact set of instruction is in a function, within the same while(1) block? In practice it seems to transmit correctly unless the instructions are in a separate function. I am running out of ideas.If necessary, I will be happy to provide more details.Thank you!Edit: when I say that I doesn't transmit correctly, I mean that only 2 out of 6 packets are sent. When the instructions are not in the function and directly in the while block  all the packets are send correctly.

Hi,When reading some solutions I noticed that the 'OP' (the person who originally posted a question) did not accept the solution clearly, and there were even subsequent messages.When starting to use this new forum, I already accidentally clicked the Accept solution button, because the button changes places instantly.Even though there is a "Not the solution" button, not all users will look for this feature.Other users who will see the post with the solution already accepted can skip this post.

Why does the STM32CubeIDE only allow selecting SPI1, SPI2  Full/Half Duplex slave mode for the STM32F072RBT6 Discovery board, while providing incorrect configuration options for Full duplex Master for SPI1, SPI2

Hi,I'd like to discuss the best practice or approach to execute an infinite animation, like a GIF, to execute is while the screen is running.I've done a simple Box object, as an example purpose of my subject, to help in this topic. It could be line, circle or etc. Note: My goal here is about the shapes objects only.I'd like to know if its the best way to do it. My current touchgfx version is the 4.22.Many thanks!I attached my code.

Hi,I use the ADC with DMA. The adc conversion is triggered with 20kHz.I would like to transfer my 4 adc values from interrupt HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback to a FreeRtos task.What is the best way to transfer adc values from HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback to FreeRtos task?Are there examples which I should check?I read about binary semaphores, queues.Thanks

I wish to configure my STM32 MCU (STM32G071RB) as an I2C slave device, and support I2C burst-write and I2C burst-read, in a similar manner to many I2C slave devices:(usually the RA value is incremented after every DATA byte)The I2C receive/transmit functions that are available in the file "stm32g0xx_hal_i2c.c" all require a predetermined buffer size.Is there a different I2C driver available for supporting burst write/read?If not, how would you recommend to implement this on the MCU?

Hi all,I'm following "Touch GFX #4. Send data to UI" youtube video to send data from the RTC to the display. My project is not complete or tested on the hardware. I'm building it as I go to check for errors. I kept getting the error below for the second screen. I checked all steps in the video and I followed them correctly. I'm not doing anything on the second screen since the video has only one screen. I made another simpler project (zip link to google drive the file size is about 94MB) and that built fine until I added an interaction to the button from the first screen to change to the second screen. I have an interaction in my original project. I started getting the same error as before. I'm pretty new to touchGFX and not much of its code make sense yet. My c++ skills are ok but inheritance, virtual functions and the like not so much. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something. If I remove the interaction or the whole second screen the problem goes away ... but that doesn't really h

Hi,I have a slight problem with st-image-weston.bbappend.In my meta-layer in folder /recipes-st/images/ I add an st-image-weston.bbappend to install a few packages I intend to have.And now something is strange, after adding a new package to install into rootfs the packages start to compile but not install on rootfs.Content of my st-image-weston.bbappend FILESEXTRAPATHS:prepend := "${THISDIR}/${PN}:" inherit populate_sdk_qt5 IMAGE_INSTALL += " \ qtbase-dev \ qtbase-mkspecs \ qtbase-tools \ qtdeclarative-qmlplugins \ qtquickcontrols2-qmlplugins \ qtwayland \ gstreamer1.0 \ gstreamer1.0-plugins-good \ " CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += " \ net-tools \ openvpn \ systemd-networkd-configuration \ netplan \ networkmanager \ iproute2 \ ppp \ usb-modeswitch \ usbip \ ppp-dialin \ libiio \ packagegroup-st-demo \ sox \ libnfc \ sdcard-raw-tools \ " IMAGE_ROOTFS_MAXSIZE = "950000" Finally, many packages are not installed for instance USB gadget DHCP server, ppp etc.F

Hello,I am working on a project that is using wifi to communicate with the connected device and the latency is critical. We are using the wifi JODY-W263-00B from U-Blox connected by SDIO bus, and for measuring the latency we simply use ping command. The average latency of our setup is around 10 ms. As this project is the third generation of our product we have a comparison with the previous generation that was based on the imx6 chip from NXP, and with it, we were able to reach average latency of around 1.8 ms, but we were using a different wifi module (ELLA-W161). To make this comparable we have made a few measurements using different CPUs, wifi modules, and connection types. Our results are in this spreadsheet. In the name/board column is the name of the device to which was wifi module connected, the WIFI connection column shows how we connected module/evk kit, and columns under Ping [ms] are our measurements. Other columns are self-explanatory as I hope.From measurements, you can see

I am interested in calibrating precisely the delay introduced by the filter chain (LPF1 and/or LPF2) of the LSMDSOX (or DSO/DSM - I presume they are the same). I have found the settling times in Table 13 of App Note AN-5272, which is a good start, but is there more information available on the actual transfer functions of LPF1 and LPF2?Can the self-test be used as a clean step function on the input, as a way to characterize the overall transfer function? The AN-5272 App Note suggests to wait 100 ms for a stable output, but it is not clear whether this is due to the settling time of the filters, or if it is imposed by some other stabilization of the self-test circuitry itself.Thanks in advance,Best regards,Laurent

I am using the STM32H745XIH6 board with touchgfx. And I am calling the HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA function in model.cpp whenever the user entered a string on the LCD.But I would like this HAL_UART function to be execute to main.c instead. How do I do this codewise? I am not very experienced with interacting C++ with C. The function that I want to transfer to main.c is SendData2MCU(int UART, int DMA, uint8_t* data) #include <gui/model/Model.hpp> #include <gui/model/ModelListener.hpp> #ifndef SIMULATOR #include "main.h" #include "string.h" extern "C" { extern UART_HandleTypeDef huart1; extern UART_HandleTypeDef huart3; extern UART_HandleTypeDef huart7; extern uint8_t RX1_String_cpy[512]; extern uint8_t RX3_String_cpy[512]; extern uint8_t RX7_String_cpy[512]; extern int DMA_complete; } #endif Model::Model() : modelListener(0), toggleGreenLEDButtonState(false), toggleRedLEDButtonState(false) { } void Model::tick() { #ifndef SIMULATOR modelListener->RX1_3Data
