In `STM32F030CCTx` I need to set the CRC in 16-bit length by calling HAL_CRCEx_Polynomial_Set(MATRIX_UART_settings->crc, CRC_POLY, CRC_POLYLENGTH_16B); but the compiler shows the error : 'CRC_POLYLENGTH_16B' undeclared (first use in this function) in the `stm32f0xx_hal_crc.h` file `CRC_POLYLENGTH_16B` is defined under preprocessor directive like #if defined(CRC_POL_POL) /** @defgroup CRC_Polynomial_Sizes Polynomial sizes to configure the peripheral * @{ */ #define CRC_POLYLENGTH_32B 0x00000000U /*!< Resort to a 32-bit long generating polynomial */ #define CRC_POLYLENGTH_16B CRC_CR_POLYSIZE_0 /*!< Resort to a 16-bit long generating polynomial */ #define CRC_POLYLENGTH_8B CRC_CR_POLYSIZE_1 /*!< Resort to a 8-bit long generating polynomial */ #define CRC_POLYLENGTH_7B CRC_CR_POLYSIZE /*!< Resort to a 7-bit long generating polynomial */ /** * @} */ /** @defgroup CRC_Polynomial_Size_Definitions CRC polynomial possible sizes actual definitions * @{ */

Hello,We have been using the LIS3DH for some time and recently acquire some LIS3DSH' as well.With both modules there is an internal pull-up for the SDO pin, and with the LIS3DH there is a register to control this pullup:CTRL_REG0I am not able to find a similar register for the LIS3DS, and that register address is referenced as something else.I recall that in earlier versions of the LIS3DH datasheet, this register was not provided, but added in later revisions.Is there some unlisted register for the LIS3DS to disable this internal pull-up? Or some other method?Thankyou.

I'm trying to use the internal op-amps of an STM32L471 to amplify a small current-sense voltage before measuring it via ADC. This figure from the relevant product training resource shows an internal arrow labelled "ADC," coming from the op-amp output. I assumed this meant the output from an internal opamp could be internally routed to the input of an ADC. However, I can't find a way to do this, in STM32CubeIDE or in the documentation. This should be possible, right? Would appreciate any info/advice, before I have to start bodging it externally...Cheers

Hi, I'm a beginner with TouchGFX Designer. I am trying the following gauge example with minor changes:https://youtu.be/NdGgtKwQ6fg Everything works fine in the simulator.On the device needles are not visible, and arcs appear only for left gauge andpartially. What I'm I doing wrong? I use TouchGFX Designer 4.22.1The hardware is a Nucleo-G071RB board with a X-GFX01M2 TFT display (expansionboard). A zip of the project is available here:https://fichiers.dagami.org/Nucleo-G071RB-GFX01M2-gauge.zip Thanks for any help.

I have four FSM programs working with the LSM6DSV sensor, all set to AODR/GODR of 30Hz in line with the examples I copied. Tap detect requires significantly higher ODR.  I might also want to run the SFLP at a rate higher than 15 or 30 Hz, so does this mean that I can't run the FSM when running the AODR/GODR at higher rates than 30 Hz or that I simply need to change the FSM program configuration (gulp!) to account for the desired higher rates?

Hi,I have a project where I need at least 8 PWM input channels, 10 would be great. I can't see a method to filter by PWM input on the website or in STM32CubeMX. I would like to round it down to a few devices and compare them on cost, package, etc. Is there a method to do this that I'm missing?At the moment I'm simply choosing the devices with the most timers and working through the list 1 by 1 using STM32CubeMX, this is quite a slow approach.Any advice is welcome. Thanks

I am trying to use STM32 VSC extension plugin on VSCode for a better coding experience, but error occored when I am trying to debugging.VSCode suggested that build task finish successfully in the terminal.It seems debugger failed to connect debug server. [I am not sure what debug server is and how they work. The only thing I know is that launch file has set up 2 tools named:ST-LINK_gdbserver.exe and arm-none-eabi-gdb.exe. Iguess they are connected with each other and transmit debug info by TCP(?)] I have already tried connect and reconnect my NUCLEO board on my computer. When debugger runnging, the stlink flashlight on the NUCLEO is blinking as normal (red-green-red-green). But somehow the program can't be uploaded. Also I've allowed the debugger access my network so the issue shouldn't caused by a block of my defender (I am using windows Defender only) on my computer. But, however, the debugger crashed before everything I predicted happen and here is some related infos.

LSM6DSV16X chip does not work.I purchased the LSM6DSV16XTR chip, then looked at the datasheet and built a simple circuit.But SPI communication doesn't work.I used the LSM6DSV16X arduino library provided by Sparkfun, but communication was not possible.What's really strange is that I took the chip from the Sparkfun LSM6DSV16X breakout board and attached it to the circuit I designed, and it worked fine.When I first start up the sensor, do I need to initialize it in a specific way?Or maybe the delivery was wrong? The LSM6DSOX chip also has the same pin layout, and I tried soldering it the same way, but SPI communication does not work.Is there something I need to set up first? I'm sad because I'm a beginner.

Hello there!I've been setting up the UART peripheral on my STM32H5 and everything works great! However, there is one thing I can't completely understand:Using an RTOS to call HAL_UART_Transmit or HAL_UART_Transmit_IT, what's the advantage of one over the other?AFAIK, the blocking option will use more CPU cycles, and due to the preemptive nature of the RTOS I'm using (freeRTOS), it might take longer to execute in case there are higher priority tasks trying to run.On the other hand, the HAL_UART_Transmit_IT might sound like a better option (since it is non-blocking) but it also introduces a (or several) ISR call(s), which will run over the RTOS. On the STM FAQ about the UART peripheral, I noticed the HAL_UART_Transmit is only for low baud rates, why is that? Is due to its blocking nature?Could anyone explain what would be the best approach here? I'm leaning towards the non-blocking option (and might even add the DMA peripheral) due to its non-blocking behavi

Hi,During development of my project on Nucleo-F303RE, I noticed that there is no communication on my Arduino connector USART2 related pins, even thorugh I set it up in the STM32CubeIDE pinout configuration. Quickly I found out in UM1724 that these pins are by default not connected to the ST morpho and ARDUINO connector, due to the connection to ST-LINK MCU.So I>set up new USART3 on (pins PB10 and PB 11),>set configuration exacly as USART2,>flashed the board>as in the user manual I soldered OFF 2 bridges (SB13 and SB14) and soldered ON 2 other bridges (SB62 and SB63)I connected these pins (PB10 and PB11) to the CN3 Tx and Rx pins and I am able to download and debug the code. However, when I try to communicate with the board using putty terminal on COM3 (where the board is connected) with correct baudrate, I no longer can transmit any data from PC to the board and vice versa.Due to the fact that I am able to flash and debug the board I assume that connection is set up pr

I'm using an STM32H747i-DISCO board with CubeIDE v1.13.2.My first clue that the ARM DSP library wasn't loaded was when the #include "arm_math.h" file wasn't found. It is not in any of this project's folders. I did manually copy the file into the project and the compiler now sees it.However, the ARM DSP functions can't be found. The include paths are correct - at least when compared to a different project where the ARM DSP functions are working properly. Also, I do not see anything in the IOC's Pinout & Configuration or Software Packs relating to DSP.There are a lot of posts here that describe how to add the ARM DSP library to a given project, but depending on the vintage of the post and the version of CubeIDE, this procedure varies a lot.For CubeIDE v1.13.2, what is the procedure for adding the ARM DSP library?

I am enabling the LSM6DSV FSMs, SFLP, and SensorHub (LPS22DF slave) to send data to the FIFO where I read it upon INT1 pulses. I also have the embedded TILT function working routed to INT1. If I try to route the activity/inactivity detect to INT1, I get no interrupt function at all. If I instead choose INT2 for the activity/inactivity INT routing, or specify no interrupt for this function, everything works. That is, I see the FIFO data until the inactivity condition is met, and then the data stops until I move the device, as it should. However, without an interrupt for the activity/inactivity detect I have no indication when the device changes state, which I use to power off other devices in the system.To repeat, this all works as it should when I have the activity/inactivity detect routed to INT2, but I am using the LPS22DF now as a slave to the LSM6DSV master and the LPS22DF data ready interrupt is on LSM6DSV INT2. This allows the LPS22DF data to get into the LSM6DSV FIFO for FSM pro

Hello, I am using the LDK320M-R, Linear Voltage Regulator IC with Positive Adjustable Output, in one of my current projects. The data sheet states that the ADJ pin voltage range is from - 0.3 to 2V, but does not show how this voltage range configures the regulated output voltage.  I have search on the LDK320 product line page on STM website and was not able to find any useful information regarding how to configure the ADJ for the desired output.  My input voltage is 8V, the desired output voltage is 7VMy guess is to take the ADJ voltage range and divide it by the input voltage to get the steps I need for incremental steps of input voltage. Please help!  Thanks,Marco Jacome

I’ve already asked and didn’t get any answer to the following question: how did it happen that TouchGFX, being ST product, does not support the very basic HW feature of each and every LTDC interface in STM32 controllers, namely – L8 (8bpp) format with hardware palette (look-up table) and the second layer with blending?Do similar limitations apply to other HW features as well or it is just L8 was that unlucky after so many years of TouchGFX development? Last CubeMX version with StemWin and dual layer with 8bpp support was 6.4.1, already coexisting with TouchGFX for few years. Now is CubeMX 6.9.2, TouchGFX 4.22.1 – and still very basic yet very important feature is missing, forcing to double memory requirements for GUI application where more than 256 colours are not necessary. GuiX provides that feature but also didn’t get any official ST support despite clear move towards ThreadX.We are a big ST customer for years, and are in the process of selecting GUI library at the moment. The lack

Hi, I'm pretty new into microcontrollers and I have been doing recently a project using stm32f401rbt6. I have made own pcb with this mcu and have issues with connecting to it using SWD pins by using STlink. I have been investigating this problem for a while and quickly came to the conclusion that I have probably made a mistake in terms of making connections. I have connected all VDD pins to +3.3V supply and grounded all VSS pins including VSSA/Vref- pin leaving Vref+ pin floating ( I don't want to use ADC - so I thought that I didn't have to do anything with it ). I have checked all the pins with the multimeter and all VDD pins have +3.3  V . I have also checked the NRST pin ( which has an internal pull-up) and it is in high state as it should be. The BOOT pin is connected to the slide switch so it can be either +3.3V or 0. What caught my attention is that the VCAP pin is around 0.2 V - from what I have read on the internet it should be much closer to the VDD value.I have see

Hi, I'm developing an CAN to USB converter, this converter needs to change the baud rate of the CAN when the user sends an determined message via UART.The Prescaler, TimeSeg1, TimeSeg2 are all configured correctly for the baud rate I desire, as example:        hcan.Init.Prescaler = 100;      hcan.Init.TimeSeg1  = CAN_BS1_15TQ;      hcan.Init.TimeSeg2  = CAN_BS2_2TQ; In the example above, I choose the baud rate to be in 20kbps, when the command is sent the values are correctly stored, but checking with the osciloscope I noticed that the baud rate didn't change. The steps that im using are:     HAL_CAN_Stop(&hcan);    HAL_CAN_MspDeInit(&hcan);        hcan.Init.Prescaler = 100;    hcan.Init.TimeSeg1  = CAN_BS1_15TQ;    hcan.Init.TimeSeg2  = CAN_BS2_2TQ;    HAL_CAN_MspInit(&hcan);    HAL_CAN_Start(&am

The LIS3DSH accelerometer is located on the STM32F407VGT6.I need to get the WHO_AM_I value from the LIS3DSH accelerometer register using CMSIS and SPI.The SPI1->DR register is 8 bit.I need to send the WHO_AM_I address and 8 more bits, a total of 16 bits should be sent.I have an 8-bit SPI1->DR register, so I can’t send 16 bits at a time.I think the algorithm of actions should be something like this:SPI1->DR = data; //Here I send the register address WHO_AM_I receive=SPI1->DR ; //Here I receive unnecessary data. SPI1->DR = 0; //Here I send empty 8 bits receive=SPI1->DR ; //Here I need to get the value of the WHO_AM_I registerI tried using this code (I wrote it myself), but it doesn't work:uint8_t address=0x8F; //Register address+read uint8_t result; HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOE, GPIO_PIN_3, GPIO_PIN_RESET); //Chip Select SPI1->DR = address; while((SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_BSY) != RESET); result=SPI1->DR; while((SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_BSY) != RESET); SPI1->DR = 0;

Hello, Hello,I plan to use the VL53L5CX ToF sensor in the machine learning core in lsm6dsv16x. is it possible to use the VL53L5CX  as en external sensor instead of magnetometer. Besides, may I use two external sensor in machine learning core( one will be ToF sensor, another is ST pressure sensor) Regards,Fehmi

Hello,I am trying to evaluate the DRP USB C solution ST has to offer.I have available to me a NUCLEO-G0B1RE and an X-NUCLEO-DRP1M1.I understand that the code written in the DRP1M1_DRP example was written for the NUCLEO-G071RB, but I cannot find any reason this code wouldn't run on the NUCLEO-G0B1RE. Pinouts seem fine, Capabilities seem fine, and the readme.md file in this example says it should work on STM32G0XX devices.However, when I debug this code on the board it enters a hard fault loop while trying to run MX_USBPD_Init(). Digging further down, it seems as though it fails to validate that the GUI area hasnt been corrupted. Specifically, at line 80 in "bsp_gui.c":if ((0xFFFFFFFFu != *((uint32_t *)_addr)) && (MagicNumber != *((uint64_t *)_addr)))The call stack looks like this:Are there things I need to adjust to get this code working on the NUCLEO-G0B1RE rather than the NUCLEO-G071RB?Thanks,Nate

Hello, I recently designed STM32F103CBT6 based PCB for motor controller and I wanted to ask about power consumption at the default state of STM32F103CBT6. What is expected current consumption for just STM32F103CBT6 when I power up the board when not programmed to anything? I am using DC/DC from 5V to 3.3V and 3.3V is used to power up the STM32F103CBT6. I am getting 5V from lab bench power supply and directly soldered onto the input of DC/DC converter. I see current consumption about 40mA at the bench power supply. 3.3V is used for some LEDs and an ADC but still higher than I expected. I have attached related schematics here. Please let me know  Thank you  Regards,Mike

Hello, I would like to install the stm32 cryptographic firmware library to use with the STM32F030K6Tx.I download the latest version of the library the 4.1.0 from https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-cryptolib.html.I followed the guide https://wiki.stmicroelectronics.cn/stm32mcu/wiki/Security:Getting_started_with_the_Cryptographic_Library but I cannot find the correct library for the STM32F0.In the description  of the library package is clear that the firmware includes also the STM32F0 series, so I need some help to install the correct library. Thank you for support me.

I'm working on the STM32H747-DISCO Board, and studently the onboard ST-Link-V3 stopped recognizing the STM32H747 MCU.No matter what i do, it wont find the target,when I connect a simple STM32F411-DISCO everything works as expected.Rebooting the Power won't help.Updating the ST-Link FW won't Help.no matter what debug configuration I do it won't recognize the target MCU.Not only that the CubeIDE and CubeMX are very buggy, now the MCU is dead ???this MCU costs a lot and it's dead ?very disappointing !!!!I request that ST representative will help me sort this matter.

I am using STM32F407ZET MCU and using Eclipse IDE. My PCB board is working fine, I check and verify. In my firmware I am using timer 6 as an interrupt and systick is used for freertos. But when I click on the debug option it jumps on the following function and freezes.void __attribute__ ((section(".after_vectors")))Default_Handler(void){#if defined(DEBUG)__DEBUG_BKPT();#endifwhile (1){;}}I tried with STM32CUBE IDE, it is working normal. What can be the reason?

I am evaluating LIS2HH12. Before starting to collect data, I simply reboot it, set FIFO to stream mode (010), enable FIFO, and enable the sensor by setting ODR=800Hz (110). Then I collect 800 samples (each sample=6 bytes, 2 for each axis) by reading the output registers when FSS>0 and as many times as FSS and checking OVR also (which never happens) and maximum FSS I see is 4 or so (the sensor is connected to an RPi 4, SPI@1MHz). I expect 800 samples to be collected around 1 second, but 800 samples are collected in 0.5 seconds. Why would this happen ? I double checked the FSS values I have read and they sum up to 800 in 0.5 seconds as well.

I've followed this tutorial to install the DSP libraries on STM32F407 discovery.Should I keep all the files in the folders in the attached picture? Or only one per folder? (i.e. according to the uController I choose which one to keep)I think I have to delete the IAR and GCC folders, leaving only ARM, am I wrong? And inside this ARM folder should I delete something? What's the difference between b, bf, l and lf?Thank you all!
