Posted on June 12, 2018 at 06:37Hi Everyone,       I m interested in doing lower level programming. Now i currently working with stm32f407 board. I have successfully got the output for GPIO. Now i am started working on ADC interface. But i couldnt get the output for my code. I haD given 3V to PA1 pin but still i couldnt get the proportional value in DR register. Kindly help me out to solve this issue.&sharpinclude 'stm32f4xx.h'void GPIO_Init(void);void adc_init(void);uint16_t adc_read();uint16_t adc_value1=0,adc_value2=0;int main(void){ GPIO_Init(); adc_init();while (1) { adc_value2=adc_read(); if(adc_value2>=0X000C) { GPIOD->ODR|=(1<<14); } else { GPIOD->ODR|=(1<<15); } // // GPIOD->ODR&=~(1<<14);// for(delay=0;delay<=4166666;delay++);// GPIOD->ODR|=(1<<15);// for(delay=0;delay<=4166666;delay++);// // GPIOD->ODR&=~(1<<15);// for(delay=0;delay<=4166666;delay++);}}void GPIO_Init(void){RCC->AHB

Posted on May 29, 2018 at 13:55Hi All,I am working on STM32F413 Disco kit and trying to read/write into SD card using DMA mode.My requirement is -   i have to call single function which will read/write into SD card in 1ms timer callback function.It is working fine in debug mode but not in normal mode.Is there any delay issue ? Because when we run in debug mode, automatically delay is getting added.Our project requirement is very rigid that we should not use HAL_Delay().Please provide your suggestions.My code:-/********************************************/void HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim){    // TIM1 is configured for 1ms        if(htim->Instance == TIM1)    {        SDtest();          }}/********************************************/void SDtest(void){      LastWriteAddr = SD_WriteBlocks_DMA(Tx,TEMP_R

Posted on June 14, 2018 at 18:20Hi everyone,I am currently using USB Full-Speed for an application and I would like to know if there is a way to implement DMA to access USB FS FIFO.I know that a dedicated DMA exists for USB High Speed but I can not find something similar for Full Speed. Moreover, the documentation and ressources about the FS FIFO remain a bit confusing and could suggest it may be possible to access buffers via DMA but I still didn't manage to do this.I would need some peace of advice on how I could achieve and implement a such architecture.Thank you in advance.#stm32-usb-dma #usb-fs

Posted on June 14, 2018 at 19:23Stm32F103 HAL_CAN_Transmit(&hcan,10) not working, always return HAL_TIMEOUT and HAL_ERROR, but when i use STD_Lib everything is good. So i think if the HAL has BUG of CAN on STM32F1?Hello,I'm trying to set up CAN on my STM32F103  to send a CAN message but I keep getting HAL_TIMEOUT error from the HAL_CAN_Transmit() function :/* Check End of transmission flag */ while(!(__HAL_CAN_TRANSMIT_STATUS(hcan, transmitmailbox))) { /* Check for the Timeout */    if(Timeout != HAL_MAX_DELAY)    {       if((Timeout == 0U) || ((HAL_GetTick()-tickstart) > Timeout))                           ///////here!!!!!!!!!!!!!       {          hcan->State = HAL_CAN_STATE_TIMEOUT;   &nb

Posted on August 10, 2016 at 09:39I am used to chips being marked for example ''STM32F405VGT6''. However, from several people I hear that now chips marked with an additional ''U'' at the end are showing up. Date code 1613 or something like that. One person reported problems with that chip. To be honest: I personally don't think it's the chip, but I would like to know what that U stands for (the datasheet clearly states that this U does not exist....)

Posted on June 14, 2018 at 08:37Hello,Could you describe difference in use FIFO0 and FIFO1 for CAN1 and CAN2 in stm32f4 mcu? For example if I configure CAN2 for receive in FIFO0 and configurate filters 14 all work success, but if I try use FIFO1 with CAN2 no interrupt CAN2 happen in receive in this case. CAN0 need use with FIFO0 and CAN2 need use with FIFO1 if big data transfer happen, isn't it(or what case when need use separately FIFO for CAN1 and CAN2)?

Posted on June 15, 2018 at 05:37Working on an STM32F103, using PWM to generate waveforms. The timer is in One Pulse mode and uses the Repetition Count Register to clock out the required signals. Based on user selection, I am stopping and starting the output using HAL_TIM_PWM_Stop_IT()/HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_IT(). There are multiple timers in a master-slave configuration, and interrupts are being used to interface with a DAC, so there are many things that must remain in sync.As expected, stopping and re-starting the timer does not affect the timer state, notably the counter CNT. That's fine as I can simply zero this register before restarting, to ensure the output is in sync. The problem is that the timer is stopped at some arbitrary point in time at which the repetition counter is at some arbitrary value, and when the output is restarted, the repetition counter appears to resume from this arbitrary value, thus introducing a short delay or phase shift in the output, prop

Posted on June 14, 2018 at 22:58Having a problem with ST-Link v2-1 programming the STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN boards.Have updated the firmware and using the latest driver for WIndows 10.Programming requires constant driver restarting. Debugging from the IAR or Keil is nearly impossible.On the several PCs the app ST-Link Utility can't connect to the board due to a USB failure.Drag-and-drop feature works 1 time out of 100 with fail message: 'The application file format is unknown and cannot be parsed and/or processed'Thanks for help.#b-l072z-lrwan1 #stm32l0-discovery-kit-lora

Posted on June 14, 2018 at 01:13I have configured an timer IC channel and it is working ok however the timer counter isn't reset when I read the captured value: void HAL_TIM_IC_CaptureCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim){if (htim == &htim2)    {       input_capture = HAL_TIM_ReadCapturedValue(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_1);    }}There is any register that I need to configure so the timer reset the counter each time it capture a value?Per example I have a channel capturing a 10Hz signal however I'm only writing to serial port at 1Hz and I only want to write the last captured value. Without reset the counter the output I got is '1000, 2000, 3000, 4000,...' instead of always be 100 (I have the timer configured to 1ms resolution).#stm32f0-hal #input-capture-mode

Posted on June 05, 2018 at 17:21I would suggest opening the file attached in notepad++.Generally speaking the code makes sense. I can get it working without the CRC, which apparently is supposed to equal 0.Note the following section:if(psFirmware->ulPage == (psFirmware->ulTotalPages - 1)){ sFirmware.ucRcvdImage = TRUE; //verify FW if(sFirmware.ucUpdateWhat == fwUPDATE_CONSOLE){ ulCRC_Calc = sFirmware.ulFirstWord; sFirmware.ulAddress = UPDATE_IMAGE_ADDRESS+4; size = ((psFirmware->ulTotalPages * 12) /4)-1; }else{ ulCRC_Calc = 0; sFirmware.ulAddress = UPDATE_RADIO_ADDRESS; size = ((psFirmware->ulTotalPages * 12) /4); } for(i = 0x000 ; i < size ; i++){ ulMemoryRead = *(__IO uint32_t*)sFirmware.ulAddress; sFirmware.ulAddress += 4; ulCRC_Calc += ulMemoryRead; //ADD the bits to calculate the checksum } if(1){//ulCRC_Calc == 0){ //verify FW image here if(sFirmware.ucUpdateWhat == fwUPDATE_CONSOLE){ FlashStatus = FLASH_ProgramWord(UPDATE_IMAGE_ADDRESS,sFirmware.ulFirstWord); if

Posted on June 12, 2018 at 10:34Hi all,I try to create a software interrupt in STM32L476.This is the software interrupt enable codeHAL_NVIC_SetPriority(EXTI1_IRQn, 3, 0); HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(EXTI1_IRQn); LL_EXTI_EnableIT_0_31(LL_EXTI_LINE_1); LL_EXTI_EnableEvent_0_31(LL_EXTI_LINE_1);This is the interrupt trigger code  LL_EXTI_GenerateSWI_0_31(LL_EXTI_LINE_1);The interrupt is not generated, how come? what am I missing?The datasheet says the following:14.3.6 Software interrupt/event selectionAny of the configurable lines can be configured as a software interrupt/event line. Theprocedure to generate a software interrupt is as follows:1. Configure the corresponding mask bit (EXTI_IMR, EXTI_EMR).2. Set the required bit of the software interrupt register (EXTI_SWIER).This is exactly what I'm doing. 'normal' interrupts work.#software-interrupt #stm32l4

Posted on June 13, 2018 at 01:31Hello, I went to STM32 IoT discovery Kit seminar last year at San Francisco. At that time, I received a demo board (STM32 IoT Discovery Kit) with a USB memory card. Recently we have a project may need this MCU, and I am trying to bring up this board, but find out my computer cannot read USB memory card anymore. Do you know where can I download the those files, like software and sample code ? I look over ST website and cannot find it. Thank you for your help

Posted on June 11, 2018 at 14:40I have a weird problem with LSM6DS3. Right after power on I try to read the Who Am I register, via SPI. The return value is 0xFF, if I read it again it will send the correct value 0x69.In other words, in order to get the correct response for Who Am I, I must read the register twice, why is that?#lsm6ds3

Posted on June 11, 2018 at 09:56Dear All, I’m new to this forum and to stm32 board. I’m trying to connect an SD Card to my board NUCLEO-F429ZI but I’m having some problems with it. I use STM32CUBEMX to create the project using the standard peripherals settings. I put SDIO in SD 4 bit interfacing mode. I do not change anything in clock configuration. I connect the SD Card directly to SDIO PIN without any resistors as in picture http://www.openstm32.org/dl422?display Board PIN    SD Pin PD2             2 (CMD) PC8             7 (Dat0) PC9             8 (Dat1) PC10            9 (Dat2) PC11            1 (Dat3) PC12             5 (CLK)

Posted on June 08, 2018 at 10:55Dear All, I have an question about CAN bus transmit interrupt. I use STM32F303.In reference manual, it describes when transmit mailbox becomes empty, the interrupt will be triggered.It also means of that when transmit procedure is completed, the interrupt will be triggered. right?if yes, what should I do in the ISR(interrupt service routine)? There are no thing need to process due to the transmission is already completed. it seems like of an superfluous ISR.#stm32 #can-bus

Posted on June 06, 2018 at 15:12Hello ST Community,I´m using a STMS8105x6 MCU that has an appilcation running that communicates with other MCUs via UART and I2C. I also have a IWDG running, that does sometimes a reset because of communication errors.What I want to know is, how to save a global volatile uint32_t variable that has an important value, that should not be lost at a watchdog reset.Saving it to the EEPROM at every change is not an option. But maybe it can be stored into a backup register or the RAM somehow. Or can I prevent it from being newly initialized at startup?!Using STVD + Cosmic Compiler.Thank you in advance for your help.MaBo

Posted on June 08, 2018 at 16:22I'm looking to do some firmware updates over CAN bus on an M0 based part (possibly F091) which it looks like will require a custom bootloader. Do I need to pick a part with enough RAM to store the entire firmware image so I can transfer the image to the bootloader and then write it to flash? Or I there a way to transfer directly to flash to eliminate the requirement of the RAM being able to hold the entire image?#stm32-can-bootloader

Posted on June 06, 2018 at 14:23Hello,I implemented some functions to read and write the QSPI memory by using functions HAL_QSPI_Transmit() and HAL_QSPI_Receive() provided by the libraries.Everything works fine. I just wonder how I can write and read strings using these functions.I want to write:   char myString[100][50];but the above functions have a uint8_t as an input!Is there any way to do so, other than passing a single character at a time?Thanks,#read #strings #write #qspi

Posted on June 08, 2018 at 10:26Hi All,I am brought a a bunch of STM32L082KZT6 (STM32L082 in LPFP32 pinout) parts and I've started designing my PCB but in the datasheet the VDD_USB pin is omitted (only) for this package BUT ST says it supports USB device mode.I have looked at the part using STM32CubeMX and enabling USB shows USB_DP(PA12) and USB_DM(PA11) but no VDD_USB pin...Can I assume it just gets USB_VDD power from VDD and I should just make sure VDD is >= 3V if I am using USB?Any and all help greatly appreciated!Cheers,Neal#stm32l082kz-vdd_usb
