I am working with M24M02 and I measured that it takes 50% longer to read a page than to write a page. Is this normal that read time exceeds write time?  NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. I have been asked to embed an accelerometer into the engine control module. It would normally be used when the engine is not running to determine static angle with respect to gravity; low G, angle sensor. However, once the engine starts running there will be significant vibration, the controller is mounted to the engine. For discussion purposes it may be considered 10 g random, up to about 3000 Hz. The specification indicates the normal operating ranges and then indicates a couple of shock type accelerations (absolute maximums). But these are very short duration (3000 g, 0.5 ms) or (10000 g for 0.1 ms).Which of your MEMS devices would you recommend if exposed to continuous 10 g random vibration? 15 g? 20 g?NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. Hi, I'm using LIS2DS12 and I was wondering if it was possible to use it as a pedometer? How do you suggest to set the thresholds? Thanks

Hello. I have custom board with STM32H743 and USB3320 in Full Speed Mode. Dont have problem with initialization of MSC (Window read descriptor, configuration and other). But when read blocks from SD card some trouble occurs. With USBPcam and Wireshark I check than Windows read data from SD card in next sequnce: Sector 0 Size 512, Sector 0 Size 512, Sector 2 Size 512, Sector 0 Size 512, Sector 63 Size 512. When reading sector 63 problem occurs: data from STM32 transmitted but on PC dont received. In debug I see that Sector 63 read success and USB_Transmit function also call. Maybe someone have suggestions to resolve this problem?

i bought new ST25RU3993-EVAL board. ST25RU3993 Reader suit is installed. Powered on the board through USB cable. ST25RU3993 reader board is connected to ST Reader suite Tool. clicked on start scan on tool. Placed the Tags in-front of Antenna port .But unable to detect the tags. In this board antenna is not given. is ST25RU3993-EVAL board detect the TAGS without Antenna ?

I migrate my CubeMx project that is based on stm32l072cbtx to version 5.0.1 but in connectivity menu, LPUART1 NVIC settings doesn't appear. So I can't enable LPUART1 interrupts with code generation. Is there any problem? or I've missed something

We are trying to evaluate ST25R3911B for our application. I have installed STM32CubeExpansion_NFC5_V1.3.0 Library. I tried an example code for STM32L476RG-Nucleo from this library (\STM32CubeExpansion_NFC5_V1.3.0\Projects\Multi\Applications\Polling\SW4STM32\STM32L476RG-Nucleo\STM32L4xx-Nucleo-Polling). I can see the tag type & ID on serial terminal as shown in image. Now I am trying to read & write the memory block of tag. But unable to find the API sequence necessary to perform read/write. can anyone please suggest?

Dear technical support I'd like to notify you that seems that there is an error in you CUBE version 4.24 until the latest one 5.1 (i checked one by one and there is an error with the DMA RX in circular) Before (with previous CUBE versions) I was using the Nucleo-STM32F767ZI and I was able to communicate continuously through the UART 8 in DMA mode (circular RX). However, now that I updated my .ioc file to the newest CUBE versions I'm not able to continues receive information in Rx, i.e. it only receive the information in Rx one time and the values are not updated (values sent by an external terminal), then if I press the reset button on the Nucleo board the value is updated. It doesn't matter if I select Rx as Normal or Circular mode, there are not changes at all. I'm attaching my CUBE file to take a look, I have to mentioned that I downgrade the version (Cube 4.24) in order to see if the problem was with the version Cube 5.1 but still the same not able to have changes wi

Posted on June 20, 2018 at 15:33Hi All,I'm developing an application using CubeMx to generate the basic code. On CuebMx I enabled freeRTOS and LWIP.Now I would like debug my threads but Eclipse gives me access only on the thread in esecution before the break/stop.Someone (knows and so) can give me a link or the tips to enable on Eclipse  the view of all threads allocated?Thanks... for any help.Gianluca

I've been trying to adapt an example piece of code that utilizes a UART from the Visual GDB website. The adaptations are:Using an STM32F769 Discovery board.Communicate with an ESP8266 device plugged into the board's WiFi socket.I managed to work out that I need to use UART5 and PD2 as the UART's RX and PC12 as the UART's TX.The serial details are the same as the example so need to alter those.Well when I run this code the send appears to do something because the blue data LED on the ESP8266 flashes briefly (during the send) so this tells me either the send is working or at least the TX pin is fluctuating in some way. However the receive hangs, the only to stop it hanging is a finite timeout or pass 1 as the buffer length. When I pass 1 as the length I can see that it does indeed write to the buffer and in fact writes a 0x00 but nothing more.Repeated receives hang, so trying to receive 1 byte then again trying that leads to a hang, only the first read of 1 byte ever returns (with an OK s

I think I've caused some problem in the way I'm coding this interrupt. For a second I thought it was a pipeline re-entry problem like Clive-Two-Zero described in a different thread, but adding a volatile variable and incrementing it, didn't seem to work.Does anyone see anything obviously wrong with the code? This is a project generated from TouchGFX and I'm using GCC to compile. I was unsuccessfull in porting the project to System Workbench or Atollic to take advantage of the in circuit debugger to see exactly what is happening and where it's hanging.Left and Right comes from a different microcontroller that is handling a quadrature encoder dial. So I know the signal are nice and clean of bouncing (checked with scope). What made me sure it was the interrupt is when I move the left and right output from the microcontroller handling the quadrature encoder to the joystick left and right input of the discovery kit (STM32L4R9I-DISCO), the behavior goes away and I get nice and responsive gra

I am using a stm32f407 and i use this code inside a loop:/* Mount SD Card */ if(f_mount(&fs, "", 0) != FR_OK) _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); /* Open file to write */ if(f_open(&fil, "first.txt", FA_OPEN_ALWAYS | FA_READ | FA_WRITE) != FR_OK) _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); /* Check free space */ if(f_getfree("", &fre_clust, &pfs) != FR_OK) _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); total = (uint32_t)((pfs->n_fatent - 2) * pfs->csize * 0.5); fre = (uint32_t)(fre_clust * pfs->csize * 0.5); /* Free space is less than 1kb */ if(fre < 1) _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); /* Writing text */ sprintf(counter_buff, "%.10f", count); f_puts("\n", &fil); f_puts("STM32 SD Card I/O Example via SPI\n", &fil); f_puts(counter_buff, &fil); f_puts("\n", &fil);   /* Close file */ if(f_close(&fil) != FR_OK) _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); /* Open file to read */ if(f_open(&fil, "first.txt", FA_READ)

I'm having a lot of trouble finding documentation. This board sold by ST exposes a connector that is intended to house an ESP8266 WiFi device. But the ST documentation says nothing about how that connector is wired on the board. I assume it's tied to one of the USARTs but which one?Are there any examples of C/C++ code for this board that interacts with the ESP8266?Given that ST refer to the WiFi device and designed a socket and support specifically for it, it's odd that I can find virtually no information.Any help is greatly appreciated.Hugh

Hi,I am using a LSM6DSO accelerometer. I want to know what type of acceleration I am getting as output: RMS acceleration or just the acceleration amplitude?Regards,Gabriel

I created a TouchGFX project for the STM32429I-EVAL1 board in CubeMX 5.0.1. I configured all the peripherals needed and verified that the LCD and SDRAM are working correctly. After generating the code in CubeMX I also generated the code in TouchGFX.It seems however that TouchGFX does not draw to the framebuffer address (SDRAM). The values do not change and remain static. Am I missing something to make this work? I included the .ioc file for creating the project.

I have created my own board based on the STM32L073RZ where I copied certain bits from the NUCLEO borad. I am having a problem where I can't connect to it using the STLINK. I have found out that even with only power plugged in the reset line is pulled low for no reason. I have double checked my schematic and the pinout of the chip. I have also tried adding a 10k to 3V3 but it is stilled low. It can't be that there is a short to ground because I have done a continuity check and they are not connected, the chip itself must be pulling it low. Can anyone help??

I am using the STM32L431 MCU and I want to stop the IWDG when it enters the standby mode, so I want to try changing the value of the IWDG_STDBY bit to freeze the IWDG. I tried with any of the the following instuctions but nothing works.CLEAR_BIT(FLASH->OPTR, FLASH_OPTR_IWDG_STDBY); FLASH->OPTR &= 0xFFFBFFFF; (FLASH->OPTR & FLASH_OPTR_IWDG_STDBY) = 0x0;I'd like to know if before I can change this register, another action must be done. Thanks!

New to STM8, I can create and upload new firmware, but I'd like to understand the reverse process in the event I need to use SWIM for root cause analysis of bad or damaged parts with multiple firmware versions. Imagine a drone with AI able to self-modify and update firmware of its components in real time eventually hitting a wall at high speed and you get the idea why this can be important. Suggestions to shorten the learning process? (I'm using a STM8VLDISCOVERY so I have ST-LINK with SWIM configured and hardwired to start).

I have a pulse input circuit with my counts going both into LPTIM1 input and TIM8 input 1. I am using capture compare to measure the frequency using TIM8. I would also like to use LPTIM1 in conjunction to keep the actual count of my pulses. When I send a pulse, I get an interrupt for my capture compare timer but do not get one on LPTIM1. My counts do seem to be increment using count =  HAL_LPTIM_ReadCounter(&hlptim1);However, the counts don't seem to be matching up. It increments maybe 3-4 counts every time I send 1.Here is my code: /* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_USB_OTG_FS_PCD_Init(); MX_I2C1_Init(); MX_I2C2_Init(); MX_I2C3_Init(); MX_USART2_UART_Init(); MX_USART3_UART_Init(); MX_ADC1_Init(); MX_SPI1_Init(); MX_TIM8_Init(); MX_LPTIM1_Init(); MX_LPTIM2_Init(); MX_FMC_Init(); MX_RTC_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */  /*##-3- Start the Input Capture in interrup

Hi,I am trying to use all the 4 PGAs in the STM32F303 to amplify and measure some low voltage signals (100-200mV with a gain of 8 or 16) coming from a temperature sensor. Doing so on one channel works fine, and I am able to get accurate readings once the system has been calibrated. However, as soon as I start using a second channel with a second sensor, the value measured on the first channel drops by about 1% with no reason. And it gets even worse if I add a third channel.I reproduced this on the STM32F3 Discovery board with a very simple voltage divider, so I don't think my external hardware is a problem here.Has anybody ever experienced this problem? Is there an easy way to fix it?Thank you in advance for any help.JulienBelow is how the OPAMP and ADC are initiallised via the HAL library:/* OPAMP1 init function */ static void MX_OPAMP1_Init(void) {   hopamp1.Instance = OPAMP1; hopamp1.Init.Mode = OPAMP_PGA_MODE; hopamp1.Init.NonInvertingInput = OPAMP_NONINVERTINGINPUT_IO0; ho

Hello,I would like to know if it's possible to write from RAM to FLASH using a DMA.I tried to configure a DMA as memtomem, using the HAL_DMA_Start function but it doesn't work.Is it doable ?Thank you.François

Greetings to all.I'm new to this forum and new with STM32 too. So i decided to experiment (and mess) with them to learn something. Now the first problem. I am esperimenting with timers, and after i discovered we can't use HAL_Delay() inside a timer's interrupt calling, I used a workaround. I set a global variable as a switch, so the interrupt routine only changes the switch. The rest should be made in the while(). After some days changing the code, putting breakpoints, etc.. i surrender. Here is some code:#include "main.h"   int Bounce = 0; //Bounce Counter int swTim3 = 0; //Interrupt switch   /* some other code lines ...*/   while (1) { if (swTim3 > 0) { /* some code toggling the led*/ swTim3=0; //reset interrupt } }   void HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { if (htim->Instance == TIM3) { swTim3=1; } }debugging the program, it does not enter inside the if (swTim3 > 0) {}. If I pause the debugging, it is saying me th
