Solved

Posted on April 05, 2017 at 12:48HelloI'm trying to read data from a GPS module that send packets with different lengths. I connected the rx line to another pin and enabled an interrupt on it, in this way I can 'timeout' the end of packet (packets are one per second, plenty of time between a pair).I set-up DMA on UART (tried both circular and normal) because I don't need UART interrupt to read data. I would like to read data on timeout, but after the read I need to reset the state of DMA in order to empty the buffer and restart writing from index 0. I need to know the dat tranfered too.I'm using an STM32F101 device with HAL library version 1.4.0.No luck with examples from ST nor documentation around internet. Thanks for your help.Sergio

Hi again @Martin KJELDSEN !I have a textarea with one wildcard with a fix width but ajustable height. If the wildcard doesn't fit I would like to have the text split in multiple lines, and/or change the text size to be smaller. Is there a simple function/setting to use for that or do I have to manually check getTextWidth()?Thanks in advance for the help!

In the sample code, STM uses "HAL_GPIO_EXTI_Callback" to handle interrupt from a push button, but in class I learnt that we need to use the IRQHandler to handle the interrupt. When to use "HAL_GPIO_EXTI_Callback" and "HAL_GPIO_EXTI_IRQHandler" to handle interrupt?

Hi I use GT9147 touch IC on my stm32mp157 board. I found the stm32mp157c-ev1.dts use same chip. But the ev1 use GPIO14 of stmfx GPIO expander chip as TP_INT signal. The GPIO14 of stmfx configure as below code.486 hog_pins: hog { 487 pins = "gpio14"; 488 drive-push-pull; 489 bias-pull-down; 490 };Now, my board use PG7 as TP_INT signal. I also want to configure the pull-down property to PG7.Below is my touch panel code. gt9147@5d { compatible = "goodix,gt9147"; reg = <0x5d>; irq-gpios = <&gpiog 7 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>; irq-flags = <IRQ_TYPE_EDGE_RISING>; reset-gpios = <&gpiog 8 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH>; status = "okay"; };So, my question is how to configure pull-down property of irq-gpio. I try to add "pinctrl-names" and "pinctrl-0" property to gt9147 section, but kernel shows pinctrl errors. In my opinion, other SoC platform support "hog" to config each gpio pins. Does the gpiog or pinctrl suppor this function in stm32mp1 platform?

Hi,Is there somebody who really used the RTC using external crystal (HSE) of 32.768KHz ? I tried to use it but with no success.Using the RTC with internal oscillator of 40KHz (HSI) the all it's OK. I think that there is a problem with external crystal for this micro. It's possible?

Hi,I want to use STME32L152 with LSE for RTC.I set the bit LSEON in the register RCC_CSR but the bit remains always 0. I proceeded the same with LSION and it is working well.I disable also the bit LSECSS and behavior is the same. The LSE oscilator didn't start. There is another condition to starting LSE?Thank youConstantin

Hello,I have been having problems with my debugger losing connection when i set the CM7 of my STM32H745 into CSleep mode. I have the DBGMCU flags set to enable debugging in low power, but I assumed I was still doing something incorrect with the domain low power modes or the flash memory. However, I made a minimal example without the STM HAL and low power debugging worked as expected. The debugger did not lose the connection after the CPU entered CSleep mode.I tracked it down to line 137 in file "STM32Cube_FW_H7_V1.5.0\Projects\NUCLEO-H745ZI-Q\Templates\BootCM4_CM7\Common\Src\system_stm32h7xx.c":SCB->SCR |= SCB_SCR_SEVONPEND_Pos;Based on the comment immediately before and the seeming intention of the line this should probably be: SCB->SCR |= SCB_SCR_SEVONPEND_Msk;And indeed making the change allows the low power debugging to behave as intended with the debugger not losing the connection. That line of code is all over the example and template sources as per the attached file, bu

When I change the name of a screen or container, I get compile errors. I believe this is because TouchGFX won't delete code under the "gui" directory to keep from wiping out user changes. I can deleted these manually and build under Visual Studio, but as soon as I generate code in TouchGFX, it recreates these files and the compilation fails again. How can I delete or change these names in a way that doesn't break TouchGFX?

I need to display a filled graph, where some portions of the graph needs to be displayed in different colour than the basic colour of the graph. The graph is displayed using a canvas widget, created in touchgfx 4.10.0. In the drawCanvasWidget function, the graph is drawn using lineTo commands. (The filled effect is created by drawing a series of vertical lines adjacent to each other). The problem is that colour of the line can not be changed in the drawCanvasWidget function as the function is const. So, how can the part of graph be drawn in multiple colours? A sample of the graph is in the file attached.RegardsMathews

Hi,I'm trying to find out whether there is any way to maintain internal pulldowns on pins in standby mode on the STM32F407.I suspect that this is not the case but haven't been able to find a definitive answer in the documentation. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!jay

I am attempting to create a program to implement SPI communication from my STM32H753XI MCU, all I did to do this was start a new project in Keil's uVision and generate the code from Cube after selecting my pinouts.Once my code was generated, however, I attempted to compile it and got 30 errors regarding identifiers that haven't been defined. These appear to be structs and enums from other header files that haven't been included in my project when I generated the code, I've listed examples below.C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Arm\Packs\Keil\STM32H7xx_DFP\2.3.0\CMSIS\Driver\SPI_STM32H7xx.h(284): error: #20: identifier "SPI_HandleTypeDef" is undefined"" "" error: #20: identifier "HAL_SPI_STATE_ABORT" is undefined"" "" error: #20: identifier "HAL_SPI_STATE_RESET" is undefined"" "" error: #20: identifier "HAL_SPI_STATE_ERROR" is undefinedThese are just a few of them. Is this a mistake I made when generating the code from CubeMX?

Before I enter the stop mode 2 I save all the GPIO MODER, OSPEEDR and PUDPR registers, configure pins as analogue (to save some power) and enter the STOP mode 2. When I exit the stop mode (I use RTC wakeup and GPIOs for that) I restore the above registers. Vvery second exit the GPIOA is disconnected from the physical pins. I can read and write the GPIOA registers (I was testing it using debug interface and the UART trace as well) but there is no effect when I write the ODR register. ODR sets correctly, but there is no action on the appropriate pins. It happens every second exit from the STOP mode. So the first exit all works fine, when I enter and exit the stop mode for the second time it does not, the third time all is fine and so on. Other ports work fineI have tried almost everything. Resetting, disabling and enabling the port. Adding the barriers delays and other magic, but unfortunately nothing works.Do you have any clues?

I'm using the Nucleo-L4r5zi I can't send a receive a simple message using USART Communication, Which pins to configurate on the Cube MX ? should i use an FTDI (usart to usb cable) ?

Bringing up BlueNRG2 (in network co-processor mode). Using the following call on the host MCU (after aci_gap_init():(aci_gatt_update_char_value_ext(...)For setting the Device Name characteristic (0x2A00) of the Generic Access Service (0x1800) seems to be limited to 7 characters. Setting a string of 8 or more returns a bad parameters code. I realise there's a packet size limitation (unless BLE >= 4.2 + MTU reconfigure after connection) but 7 seems a bit short, is this simply a limitation imposed by ST in the BlueNRG2 stack or am I missing a call? The complete advertised name I have set is working fine (13 chars).I notice the example STML4 projects use small device names.

On 32F429IDISCOVERY, a set of resistors selects the onboard LCD mode:As can be seen, R35+R41 determine one signal's state, R36+R42 the second signal's state (and the other resistors the rest of the signals). However, on silkscreen of the actual board, R35 and R36 appears to be swapped, as R35 is marked to be not next to R41 but next to R42, and vice versa fr R36:also confirmed by looking at the gerbers:ST, can you please comment/correct in next revisions of the board? Thanks,JW

Following prototyping with discovery board (STM32F746NG-DISCO), I am going to start my own design.Except, I need to change:1- The display, I will replace the 4.3" inch display with another with size of 10.1".2- I have to change the package of the MCU to the LQFP208 package.For the 1st part. I don't think it will be a much of an issue. As long as the new display is driven by the same interface RGB24. The rest is a matter of changing the parameters like width height sync. rate etc... However, if I am missing something please let me know. For the second part. I am very worried about changing the MCU package. I know it has the same peripherals and so. But during the design of the new board. I need to know exactly what are the peripherals and middlewares that I need to activate from CubeMx to be sure about the pins in use during tracing. Can you please tell me what are all the peripherals and middlewares I need to check so I don't miss something? And in general, what else I need to pay at

Hi, is it possible to independently choose the pins related to the SPI or are there constraints? For example can i set this pin :SPI5_CP_CLK PH6SPI5_CP_MISO PH7SPI5_CP_MOSI PF9Thank you!

Hello,I used the Nucleo STM32WB55 board to test the STM32WB55xx current consumption.I took the PWR_STOP2_RTC example from the STM32Cube MCU package for STM32WB Series (v1.2.0)With STM32CubeMx v5.3.0 I re-generated code for Truestudio (I am using Truestudio v9.3.0) and followed the readme for the board setup.I measured 113µA on JP2 (when the chipset is in STOP2 mode), while I expected something close to 2µA as per the datasheet. What is strange is that I have the same consumption if I change the code to use STOP1 or STOP0 mode instead of STOP2.What could be wrong in my setup? How much current should the board consume with this example code? Thanks & Best Regards,Julien.

Hi Sir,In the MB1355 schematics what is the purpose of two antenna's?How to calculate the unfitted capacitors ? what is the purpose of band pass filter here?

If can, please share the physical connection diagram (two Analog voltage sources to single pin micro controller ) and sample code for that.

From the website， it shows there are 6 SPIs in STM32F429VIT6, but from CubeMX Connectivity list, there are only 4 SPIs in STM32F429 series. So which parameter is correct ?B.R.Billy
