Hello,I'm using TIM2 on STM32H743 (Nucleo, rev Y, Keil 5.31).Just before setting the bit TIM_CR1_EN the setting of the timer is the following:DIER : bit UIE setPSC: expected value (0x4E1F)ARR expected value (0x4E20). it is almost the same as PSC but normalall other registers are 0, including CNTTIM2 interrupt is enabled. No pending interrupt at this time. As you can see it is a pretty simple setup.When I set the bit CEN , I get the first TIM2 interrupt way too quickly (the timer is supposed to trig an update event every 2s). At this first interrupt the status register is 0x0000001F (bit UIF set + bits CCxIF).The next interrupts are happening at the correct frequency, around 2s. I've checked the timer duration using CYCCNT register (and after having set the timer freeze functionality during break). Except for the first interrupt, I indeed measure 800M cycles with CYCCNT (cpu @ 400MHz).But the first interrupt happens around 40 k cycles after the set of CEN bit.Any idea ?

I am trying to understand how to setup the microcontroller (STM32F030 in this case) to use external oscillator. I am using blinking LED as a test to see if the code is running. To setup the HSE I did following:selected Crystal/Ceramic Resonator in High Speed Clock under RCCunder TIM1 set Internal clock as a Clock Sourceunder clock configuration tab selected HSE under PLL source mux and System clock muxWhen I run the microcontroller it runs even if I disconnect the external oscillator. I am not sure if the microcontroller goes to internal RC when there is no external oscillator or I need to do some additional work?

Strange behavior of STM32H743. It continuously reset every few seconds.I check reset reason with this part of code after system startup:if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_IWDG1RST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_INDEPENDENT_WATCHDOG_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_SFTRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_SOFTWARE_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_PORRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_POWER_ON_POWER_DOWN_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_PINRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_EXTERNAL_RESET_PIN_RESET\n"); } else if (__HAL_RCC_GET_FLAG(RCC_FLAG_BORRST)) { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_BROWNOUT_RESET\n"); } else { _PRINTF("RESET_CAUSE_UNKNOWN\n"); }After first power up it prints: "RESET_CAUSE_POWER_ON_POWER_DOWN_RESET", and then "RESET_CAUSE_INDEPENDENT_WATCHDOG_RESET" every few seconds.I commented IWDG initialization, but it didn`t help. When I download this code to the similar device, all work good.Maybe MCU IWDG hardware part is broken?

Just installed SMT32CubeMX and wanted to install CMSIS but it fails..... Screen shot shows errors.... anyone else having issues ?

Hardware: STM32MP157C-DK2, VL6180 breakout from SparkfunSoftware: CubeMX IDE (1.3.0), buildroot (following the guide from Bootlin here)I'm trying to use the M4 core to communicate with an I2C sensor. I successfully talked with the sensor on the Linux side so I'm confident the wiring and hardware is good.I edited the DTS to enable the m4_i2c5 per the example provided by ST. &m4_i2c5 { pinctrl-names = "rproc_default"; pinctrl-0 = <&i2c5_pins_a>; status = "okay"; };I've also tried many variations of the following, with and without pinctrl statements:&i2c5 { status = "disabled"; };   &m4_i2c5 { status = "okay"; };From CubeMX IDE:Main initialization and while(1):/* Initialize all configured peripherals */ MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_I2C5_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ gpio_init_structure.Pin = GPIO_PIN_7 ; gpio_init_structure.Mode = GPIO_MODE_OUTPUT_PP; gpio_init_structure.Pull = GPIO_PULLUP; gpio_init_structure.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_VERY_HIGH; HAL_GPIO_Ini

I am using STM32L4R9 Evaluation board for my development. When we generate a Demo Project from the TouchGFX Designer, how do we check that how many Frame buffers are used by default and how to check whether we are using any External RAM to store the Frame Buffer.Regards,Bala

I have searched lots of articles, and followed their approach, but minicom still show garbled. (I tried teraterm on windows before. Its message is correct.)The following is my command lines:---------------------------------------------------------$ sudo minicom -sSerial port setup >  | A -  Serial Device   : /dev/sdc  | B - Lockfile Location   : /var/lock  | C -  Callin Program   :  | D - Callout Program   :  | E -  Bps/Par/Bits    : 115200 8N1  | F - Hardware Flow Control : No  | G - Software Flow Control : No ---------------------------------------------------------I'm pretty sure the config is equal to my USART3 setting:---------------------------------------------------------/* USER CODE END USART3_Init 1 */ huart3.Instance = USART3; huart3.Init.BaudRate = 115200; huart3.Init.W

I need some help please re ISM330DLC – extracting data using FIFO_DATA_OUT_H and FIFO_DATA_OUT_L as described in AN5125 section 8.5.1.I don’t fully understand table 85. Where does the FIFO_PATTERN_[9:0] come from?How is the association between Next reading from FIFO output registers and FIFO_PATTERN set up?What are the detailed steps required to read the sequence of 16bit words Gx Gy Gz XLx XLy XLz? Thank you for your help!

Hi everyone,I have been using STM32CubeMonitor for some time and I love this tool. The only problem I have is when I compile my code, I have to reselect the variables in the configuration of the variable nodes. Is there a way for the software to remember the variables I want to analyze or at least a way for the software to tell me that it is no longer able to find the variable select in the code? Because for now when it does not find the variable, it simply displays a null value in the graph

Hi, I'm using a Nucleo-F072RB at the moment and would like to use the STM32cubeMonitor tool to visualize a few signals at 1-10kHz. Right now I am only able to read at about 5Hz update, which seems very slow. I noticed a section on the wiki for speed optimization, but access is blocked. Could someone offer advice for increasing the acquisition rate? BTW, I really like the idea of this tool if it can become more oscilloscope-like!

Hello guys.I am proceeding in the manner provided on the WIKI page(https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Distribution_Package).However, the following problems still occur in Step 6.[error codes]-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WARNING: iso-codes-4.4-r0 do_fetch: Failed to fetch URL git://salsa.debian.org/iso-codes-team/iso-codes.git;protocol=http, attempting MIRRORS if availableERROR: iso-codes-4.4-r0 do_fetch: Fetcher failure: Unable to find revision 38edb926592954b87eb527124da0ec68d2a748f3 in branch master even from upstreamERROR: iso-codes-4.4-r0 do_fetch: Fetcher failure for URL: 'git://salsa.debian.org/iso-codes-team/iso-codes.git;protocol=http'. I'm trying to receive many 24 bits transfers over SPI with no interrupts. SCLK needs to be driven by the STM32. The throughput required would starve out the CPU if any interrupt was needed between/on transfers.From other forum posts, I've seen that this can be complicated business as the SPI peripheral supports a max of 16 bit transfers. I haven't seen anyone using the Timer DMA-burst feature though.I'd like to use a timer to trigger a DMA/SPI transfer, but I'd need 3x 8 bit requests for every trigger. AN4776 5.1/5.2 describes a "Timer DMA-burst feature" that sounds like it could do something like this. I've never seen anyone on forums use it for something like this. Would this work? Am I misunderstanding the datasheet?Alternatively, I could control the SPI clock with an advanced one-pulse timer and configure a RX DMA/SPI to just read in bytes as they come. However, this would require some hardware modifications that I'd rather avoid.

Hello, I need to calculate checksum over a struct I have defined. Can anyone please help me with this? The data is structured as below: typedef struct eeprom_struct {   // char serial_number[5]; float detector_comp_ch0; float detector_comp_ch1; float detector_comp_ch2; float detector_comp_ch3; float detector_comp_ch4; float detector_comp_ch5; float detector_comp_ch6; float detector_comp_ch7; char serial_number[14]; uint checksum;     } eeprom_struct; I know this is not directly related to STM32 MCUs, but I really need to solve this, and could not get an answer anywhere else.Thank you in advance for your help.Best regards, Vouria

We use the STM32H743BI.We have a problem with writing the Backup-RAM if the mapped variables size is not multiple of 32 Bit.According to the reference manual (rev. 7) the backup RAM is accessible in 32-bit, 16-bit or 8-bit data mode. (RM0433 Rev 7, page 264, Backup RAM).We have mapped a struct with several elements on the start address of the backup RAM (0x38800000). Each element has data size of 16Bit.Struct:struct tBackupRamDataStruct { UINT16 ui16Test1; UINT16 ui16Test2; UINT16 ui16Test3; UINT16 ui16Test4; };Code:int main(void) { static volatile struct tBackupRamDataStruct tBackupRamDataStruct __attribute__((at(0x38800000))); … // Init controller and pheripherals while(1) { if (ui16UpdateData) { ui16UpdateData = 0; tBackupRamDataStruct.ui16Test1 ++; tBackupRamDataStruct.ui16Test2 ++; tBackupRamDataStruct.ui16Test3 ++; tBackupRamDataStruct.ui16Test4 ++; }   if (ui16ResetRequest) { ui16ResetRequest = 0; __NVIC_SystemReset(); // Execute System Rese

I have an existing STM32F078VB firmware application. The following code used to work perfectly fine to jump to the DFU bootloader shortly after power up, based on the application firmware detecting 2 buttons being pressed on the board:#define BOOT_STACK_ADDR 0x200014A8 /**< Bootloader stack address */ #define SYS_MEM_START_ADDR 0x1FFFC800 /**< System memory start address */   void DfuStart(void) { void (*boot_jump)(void);   /** * Disable peripheral clocks */ __HAL_RCC_GPIOE_CLK_DISABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOD_CLK_DISABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOA_CLK_DISABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOB_CLK_DISABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOC_CLK_DISABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOF_CLK_DISABLE();   HAL_DeInit(); HAL_RCC_DeInit();   /** * Disable systick */ SysTick->CTRL = 0; SysTick->LOAD = 0; SysTick->VAL = 0;   /* Disable Timer 6 which is used as HAL tick source. */ __HAL_RCC_TIM6_CLK_DISABLE();   /* NOTE WELL: Do NOT disable interrupts here! */   /** * Run to s

we want to develope simple BLDC driver in open loop mode with speed and direction control input.I found your IC L6235 which fits to our requirement .is there any evaluation kit this IC.

Hello, I am trying to use SPI programmable amplifier MCP6S21 from TI with my STM32H743ZI2 nucleo board but nothing seems to happen. When I try to observe the signals from CLK and MOSI pins, there is nothing (even when it is supposed to be transmitting data). My SPI4 port is in Transmit Mode Only Master with a baud rate of 8Mbits/s and I transmit 8bits words. I use the HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi4, buf_tx, 2, 100); function to transmit.HAL library seems to be in 1.8 version .My CubeIDE is in 1.3.1 version and my CubeMX is in 5.6.1.202004052303 version.Do you have any idea to help me ? Thanks for future answers ;)

I am having problems with the clock signal supplied from ST-LINK chip and need to exchange it with a clock signal from a stable oscillator. For that I need the layout to find the power lines and the diagram to identify jumpers. The schematic and layout of the second version (ZI2) are not the same as in UM1974 for NUCLEO-H743ZI; I need schematics for ZI2 version! Thanks!

Hello everyone, I am trying to adjust the frame rate(to a lower fps) of the display on STM32F429i discovery board. I saw from this manual cd00278141-qvga-tftlcd-direct-drive-using-the-stm32f10xx-fsmc-peripheral-stmicroelectronics.pdf saying there's a tim3 clock used for adjusting the frame rate of the display. So i try to find any corresponding timer that may be used for refreshing the display, the only one i found is in clock configuration. If this is the part to modify the frame refresh, how can i calculate required frequency for my target fpsMy goal is to reduce the mcu usage to the smallest % possible, so that my adc can achieve maximum sampling rate. Edit: My display only have 3 screens, some buttons and text area for user input. I do not need a very fluid display
