I am trying to understand how STM32L4xx's USB DFU link works.
I downloaded the DfuSe_Demo app and I can regularly program the micro via USB, but I noticed that every time the power supply is disconnected from the board and then switched on, the PC always re-installs a new device (USB cable always connected). However, if the power supply is never disconnected and I only use the USB cable to connect, no new installation takes place.
In practice, if I put the power on and off the board 100 times, the PC stores 100 new hardware, keeping the previous ones in memory (among the hidden devices) and showing me only the last one.
Why does this happen? I expect it to behave like this when I plug in a new board, not the same one.
