I have been trying to get VS Code working with the latest STM32 VS Code plugins, and not having much luck. Latest plugins installed, on a nice fresh install of Fedora Desktop Linux.I have been using Red Hat/Fedora/CentOS, Ubuntu and versions of Mint and Arch as desktop OSes and development platforms since 1995...That being said, I was frustrated that I couldn't get this piece of the plugin puzzle working. The plugin could not find the Cube MX installation. So, I tried adding a .exe extension to it (yep, on Linux), and lo' and behold, there it was. Cube MX came to life. This tells me the plugins are coded to search for a .exe file extension by default.John
Hi,I changed the MCU on my design from STM32 L031 to L051 & L052 to have more flash then have a DAC output.I kept exactly the same ST supplied libraries / APIs for the RFID part, and command them in the exact same way with all MCUs.SPI to RFID chip runs @4Mbit/s.My design is using the ST25r3911 for RFID in NFCV / 15693 standard.Allthough the RFID works perfectly on the old design with L031, the RFID read returns a CRC error on the other 2.The tag detect, ID read & single block write work fine though.(The PCB design is exactly the same for the L031 and L051, only changed for L052 to add more functionalities)Could anyone help please?Kind regards,Yves
Hi,I've been reviewing the documentation for the STM32WBA55, but I haven’t found a clear answer on whether it is possible to directly access the RF registers to tune to a specific RX channel (ex. 2450MHz) and measure the channel's RSSI - specifically, without relying on any protocol-specific signal like Bluetooth LE. Could you please clarify if this is supported? Thank you.
Hello,I am designing a Matter/Zigbee Gateway using an STM32U5 as the host. My planned architecture includes:ST67W: Handling Wi-Fi and Thread (Matter over Wi-Fi/Thread).STM32WBA (or similar): Handling Zigbee (Matter Bridge logic).I have two specific questions regarding the ST67W's coexistence capabilities:Internal Coexistence: Does the ST67W natively support concurrent operation of Wi-Fi and Thread simultaneously without external hardware arbitration?External PTA Support: Does the ST67W expose 3-wire PTA pins (Request/Priority/Grant) to manage coexistence with an external 802.15.4 radio (e.g., the STM32WBA running Zigbee)?Basically, I need to confirm if it supports a "Hybrid Coexistence" setup where it manages internal Wi-Fi/Thread traffic while acting as a PTA Arbiter for an external Zigbee MCU.Thanks in advance.
Hello, I have an STM32H755 nucleo board and I want to use the secure memory area features but I need to clarify my understanding of the reference manual "rm0399" and some follow up questions. My understanding is that:From my normal code (non-secure) in standard mode you enable secure access mode. Then an MCU reset is triggered. Then from my normal code in secure access mode I call RSS_resetAndInitializeSecureAreas that is mentioned in page 258 in the reference manual with the memory area I need to setup to be my secure code and this request triggers a reset. After reset the MCU enters the RSS ROM instead of my normal boot code and then it jumps to my secure code that won't exit it until the API RSS_exitSecureArea.Q1: If I don't call the RSS_exitSecureArea can I keep the secure code running on CM7, Can I run a normal non-secure application on CM4?Q2: Does the RSS have a feature to authenticate a bootloader code and if the answer is yes, where is that documented?
In the DC Link Capacitor i am facing a problem like i am getting 260Arms as the inrush current for my motor controller. Although my overall operating current is 160Arms maximum. Suggest me some methods to reduce this consition.
I progrogrammed it to use HSME at 8Mhz, aftar that it was impossible to connect using stlinkv2, injected 3.3V on booth0 but nothing happened. I had to remove the microcontroller. There are 2 ways: it went to a too high speed and burn or was not possible to connect to HSEHere is the code, not use it unless can easily change the micro:void SystemClock_Config(void) { RCC_OscInitTypeDef RCC_OscInitStruct = {0}; RCC_ClkInitTypeDef RCC_ClkInitStruct = {0}; /** Supply configuration update enable */ HAL_PWREx_ConfigSupply(PWR_EXTERNAL_SOURCE_SUPPLY); /** Configure the main internal regulator output voltage */ __HAL_PWR_VOLTAGESCALING_CONFIG(PWR_REGULATOR_VOLTAGE_SCALE0); while(!__HAL_PWR_GET_FLAG(PWR_FLAG_VOSRDY)) {} /** Initializes the RCC Oscillators according to the specified parameters * in the RCC_OscInitTypeDef structure. */ RCC_OscInitStruct.OscillatorType = RCC_OSCILLATORTYPE_HSE; RCC_OscInitStruct.HSEState = RCC_HSE_BYPASS; RCC_OscInitStruct.PLL.PLLState = RCC_PLL_ON
All the provided examples are using USART YMODEM to transfer data. I know, that it really doesn't matter what kind of protocol you use as long as image is placed in a correct place in the memory, but I wonder if I can use DFU feature to update firmware and still use SBSFU. Additionaly is there any reference or resource that supports we only have to upload .sfb file and we can't use .bin file? If we have to use .sfb file only then what is the correct method of downloading it because we can't download .sfb file through cli as it doesnot support .sfb extension and same I am not able to upload it through STM32 CUBE Programmer.
I have seen that it takes about 28 ticks to read registers, so I think my stm32h750 runs really at 17Mhz, it seems is not risk, so perhaps it exists another more fast stm32 micro that have more 17 MIPS
Hi, I'm trying to understand what filters I have to apply in CubeMX to find products that support 2 QUADSPI with independent clock. E.g. h7a3aii6q seems to be such part that allows me to have two independent QUADSPI and there are parts like e.g. H743XIH6 that have QUADSPI Dual-Bank with two NCS but with only 1 Clock and there are also Parts with OCTOSPI, but they don't seem to have two independent interfaces most of them time.Any chance to make part search easier for me to find products that have features like these two independent QUADSPI?Thx
Hi Team,Firmware file are just signed not encrypted through STM32 SigningTool - stm32mcu (STM32_SigningTool_CLI.exe) after generating public and private keys through STM32_KeyGen_CLI.exe.Public key in raw 64 bytes is provided to bootloader_main.c as constant and hash is calculated from firmware data file after placing it at known location.Able to verify magic number as after signing a firmware file a header of 256 bytes is placed at top but failing to verify ECDSA signature. Using API ECDSAverify from legacy_v3 cryptographic library to verify signature. Please anyone help me with example as a reference to know where it is getting wrong.
HelloDo I unterstand correctly that the recommended secure boot option for STM32L4 is SBSFU?It seems that the only resource on how to get started with examples is the playlist on YouTube where a non signed exe from google drive has to be installed. Is there another way to get started with an example that doesn't involve having to install an exe from google drive? Are the scripts shown on the video available without installing the exe?I would really appreciate some guidance.Thank you very much in advance.
Hi everyone,Hi @Jocelyn RICARD, @D.Botelho @Jocelyn RICARDyou made this small bootloader example for testing H7 security features, e.g. RDP:https://community.st.com/ysqtg83639/attachments/ysqtg83639/mcu-security-forum/6051/1/STM32H753_SecureMem_ExampleV1.1.7zIs it possible to provision H5 MCUs and activate the closed product state using UART like the H7 example above? What i want is to implement a custom app that can get commands via UART and provision the device.I would like to have methods like: void setProductState(State state); void provisionDevice(const uin8_t* obkey,size_t obkey_size); // provisionDevice would then provision the device using the obkey send via UART. I see in the reference manual that the RSS offers functions that i can use for the provisioning. But i read somewhere that in PROVISIONING State the flashed application won't run and the device waits to be provisioned via debugger. If that is the case my idea described above won't work because a
I am currently trying to build a motion detector like application using a LSM6DSV80x and it's MLC in combination with MEMS Studio (fw 2.2.0). To do so, I use the standard DataLogExtended firmware on a NUCLEO-F401RE and can successfully log and visualise data in MEMS-Studio. The MLC training can also be done successfully, and I can flash the MLC from MEMS Studio as well as use the Decision Tree Output Viewer. But then, when I want to tweak the parameters or understand what is going on, I am missing the MLC Debug Tab in MEMS Studio (as referred to in UM3233 (MLC section) completely and cannot test on already recorded data (see picture attached). So where can I find the Debug MLC Tab in MEMS Studio 2.2.0? If it was removed, which is the last MEMS Studio version that supports it?(Tested both on Mac and Windows -> same issue)
I'm using a custom board, and use the optee device tree generated by STM32CUBEMX and full UART log. Panic at core/kernel/dt_driver.c:904 <probe_dt_drivers>. How to solve this problem?
Hello Everyone,I'm quite new with this kind of coding.I'm editing two dual core projects written for Nucleo WL55JC1, Node2 and Node1. Node2 allready implements the reading from adc and now i have to implement into Node1. I would like that the "adc.c" file was the same in the two projects so i checked the .ioc file from Node2 and I configured the .ioc of the Node1 in the same way doing some changes (Node2 has to read from 3 sensors, Node1 just from one). Now, the two adc.c files are basically the same but the one in the Node1 implements the code RCC_PeriphCLKInitTypeDef PeriphClkInitStruct = {0}; ---------------------------- /** Initializes the peripherals clocks */ PeriphClkInitStruct.PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_ADC; PeriphClkInitStruct.AdcClockSelection = RCC_ADCCLKSOURCE_HSI; if (HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig(&PeriphClkInitStruct) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }and the one in the Node2 don't. For what I understand it regards the adc clock so i checked the Node2's .io
Hello @all, I've downloaded ST25DVCryptoDemo for iOS from here, in order to take a look into the demo code for a new project.Once I've tried to build the Demo app I've got a big amount of errors. In fact the console gave me this message "too many errors emitted, stopping now"Could someone please help me to fix those issues and make everything works properly?I've also download the ST25SDK but, when I've took a look the Readme file I saw that the SDK can be used for Android app and PC app (not iOS app)
Hello.I am using a custom image sensor board controlled by an STM32H7 MCU.The image sensor is AR0134, and the I2C peripheral clock source for the MCU is set to 100 MHz (standard I2C bus speed is configured via timing registers). There is one strange problem when the image sensor board is connected to the main control board (with the STM32H7 mounted).1. I built a total of 30 identical MCU control boards.2. The same firmware is programmed into all boards.3. About 11 of these boards show problems when configuring the AR0134 registers over I2C.- The MCU configures the sensor by writing to its registers over I2C.- During testing, the same image sensor board is reused; only the MCU control board is swapped.- With the same firmware and the same sensor board, some MCU boards configure the registers correctly, but on the problematic boards, when the registers are written and then read back, the values are all 0.- Occasionally, on these problematic boards, if the power is turned off for a long t
Hello, are there any example parameters available to drive a stepper motor fast in current mode? I am using the EVLPOWERSTEP01 evaluation board with different stepper motors, e.g. Oriental PK267JDA (3.4V, 2.8A, 1.2Ohm) and Nanotec ST6018K2008 (4.8V, 2.0A, 2.4Ohm). Every motor stalls at 9 rev/sec. I used the settings related to UM1829 and played with all parameter values. Without any progress. How to speed up to e.g. 60 rev/sec?I attached my default parameters from the SPINFamily tool. Thanks in advance,Stephan
When using Zephyr, commands like west debug require ST tools (e.g. ST-LINK_gdbserver) to be installed and available on the PATH. I believe this currently requires STM32CubeCLT to be installed. However, I'd like to avoid installing STM32CubeCLT since it's deprecated in favor of the new bundle manager that is installed with the VS Code extension.I'd like to request the ability to install & use the bundle manager by itself (outside of the VS Code environment) to install packages like stlink-gdbserver into a custom location on my machine. The goal would be to add these tools to my path for development. I'd also like to be able to use the bundle manager to install tools into a CI environment (e.g. for use in GitHub actions).Note: this question is similar to https://community.st.com/t5/stm32cubeide-for-visual-studio/cli-tools-of-new-stm32cube-for-visual-studio-code-extension/m-p/831932/highlight/true#M1028 however the accepted solution in that answer requires ins
Hello ST Community, We are developing a product based on STM32MP151 which has 2 (WKUP) GPIOs connected to wake our battery-powered product from sleep or shutdown. Can somebody please let us know how we can detect which GPIO triggered the wakeup in linux userspace? We have to execute specific functions in our C application based on which GPIO triggered wakeup of our STM32MP151 based product. We are using latest openstlinux distribution package and we are open to creating a kernel module if that's required, but need some basic guidance on where to look at. Please note: We also use "rtcwake" to wakeup our product at regular intervals. Our product needs both GPIO and RTC wakeup sources. Best Regards, Ayush Sharma
This is a pretty basic question but I would like a bit of clarity if possible. If a GPIO pin is configured for the fsbl code can it also be used in the Appli code?If so how would you go about defining it in the Appli code? There doesn't seem to be an option to use a GPIO pin in both fsbl and Appli in STM32CubeMX or do you have to configure it manually in the Appli code?
Dear Sir/Madam, We are currently using CubeMX version 6.1.4 alongside CubeIDE version 1.18.1 to generate code for the M33 microcontroller. However, we have encountered an issue where the clock configuration functions are not being generated as part of the code.We kindly request your guidance on resolving this matter. Please let us know if further details are required.Thank you for your assistance.Best regards
I am currently designing a circuit using the LD1117S50CTR.In the recommended circuit in the datasheet, Cin = 100 nF and Cout = 10 µF are specified. For an LDO, I believe Cout is critical, while Cin is not as important. Therefore, I am considering using 10 µF ceramic capacitors for both Cin and Cout.Is there any issue with using a Cin value larger than the recommended 100 nF?
Our company has a chip that outputs data via DCMI, though it does not employ a standard DCMI interface. It lacks a horizontal synchronisation signal, possessing only a vertical synchronisation signal. Could you advise which chips are capable of receiving such data? If available, please provide specific chip models and concrete code examples. Edited by ST moderator: This post has been translated from Chinese to comply with the ST Community guidelines.
