Hi,

Here is the default linker script that is generated by CubeIDE 1.14.0 for the STM32L452CEU:

This linker script causes a hardfault immediately (on the second instruction executed), presumably because the stack pointer is bad:

Leakster_Xubuntu_64-bit_22_04_2.png

The RAM size in the linker script is by default set to 160K, however, the size of SRAM bank 1 is actually 128K. Changing the map fixes the issue:

MEMORY
{
  RAM    (xrw)    : ORIGIN = 0x20000000,   LENGTH = 128K
  RAM2    (xrw)    : ORIGIN = 0x10000000,   LENGTH = 32K
  FLASH    (rx)    : ORIGIN = 0x8000000,   LENGTH = 512K
}

(the RAM1 size has been reduced to 128K)

However, this is discarding 32K of SRAM. Also note that if you look in the L452 examples in the ST github repo, it also only maps 128K RAM: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeL4/blob/master/Projects/NUCLEO-L452RE/Examples/GPIO/GPIO_IOToggle/STM32CubeIDE/STM32L452RETX_FLASH.ld

_estack = 0x20020000;    /* end of RAM */

... snipped ...

MEMORY
{
RAM1 (rw)      : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 128K
RAM2 (xrw)      : ORIGIN = 0x10000000, LENGTH = 32K
FLASH (rx)      : ORIGIN = 0x8000000, LENGTH = 512K
}

I'm not entirely sure why the stack can't be placed in SRAM2 even though it is supposed to be mapped contiguously with SRAM1. This seems to be undocumented in the errata.
