Are there any code examples or documentation of different types of PSRAM which have been used on the flexible static memory controller of this family?

There are a couple of SRAM examples in the FSMC directory of the STM32F2xx std peripheral library. Have you looked at those? The PSRAM I've seen claims to be SRAM compatible (never used one myself though).
