does anyone knows if is it possible to read the pin's state when the GPIO is configured in output mode? I made a quick test, and seems not to be possible.
The IDR should reflect the current state of the pin wrt VIL/VIH. The more important question would be how are you driving the pins, and how you expect that to be over-come.
