hi!

there's a file recently published at

http://www.st.com/mcu/familiesdocs-110.html

:

CDC driver - Virtual COM Port driver - Release 1.0 - May-2008

http://www.st.com/stonline/products/support/micro/files/vcpdriver_v1.0_setup.zip

inside the zip there's an exe installer, no readme. I know what CDC is, and I guess it's supported by all current OSes. who needs this driver? anybody installed it? could you post the files or at least the readme?

thanks!

thanks ST1, your post alerted me to the fact that new firmware versions were available (the version numbers in the webpage hadn't been updated at the time). unfortunately the discovery added more confusion on my side! see here:

thanks!

Hello!

Are the CDC drivers from particular software/hardware vendor necessary to recognize the virtual COM driver, or do OSes have such generic drivers themselves? I suppose that the USB CDC documentation has the answer, but it needs mundane digging. Anyone has yes/no answer?
