I have had this working - using Nuttx, but since then I've been trying to get an STMCubeIDE based solution working but I've hit a problem.
The Phy does not operate as expected - no LED activity, and no ethernet traffic.
The odd thing is that when I go back to Nuttx, I have the same problem.
When I dig in to the register activity I can see that the code is issuing a Soft Reset by writing 0x8000 to the BRC register 0.
It then immediately reads the BCR and gets 0x3000 back to sthe reset has cleared very quickly.
From the datasheet it says that it can take up to 500ms so this seems strange.
Is the chip resetting properly? How do I tell?
Has the chip/board failed in some way?
Any ideas?
