STM32H7S3L8H6 NUCLEO SPI Loopback Test Failing

shri7
Visitor

I’ve been trying to run an SPI loopback test, but my code gets stuck in the transmit function. The data never actually transmits, so the function waits indefinitely. When I checked the SPI clock pin with a logic analyzer, it remains low. I also verified the peripheral clock in the SFRs, and it shows that the SPI clock is enabled.

For the hardware setup, I connected MOSI to MISO with a jumper wire.

I’ve attached images and included the full code—please take a look and help me figure out what’s causing the issue. One more note: I’ve used the same configuration in previous projects and it worked fine, but now it suddenly doesn’t.

If the information I’ve provided isn’t clear or sufficient, I apologize—please let me know, and I can share more details.

This will prevent SPI from working.

Initialize the SPI SCK pin as GPIO output and toggle it. Verify on a scope that it toggles.

If it isn't able to toggle, probably it is being tied low somewhere in your hardware. This is likely a hardware problem, not software.

Other possibilities are that you are not monitoring the pin you think you are, or you are not initializing the pin you think you are.

Yes,The pin toggles even tried using a different spi
