How many write cycles is considered for a single ST25DV sequential write mode(256 bytes)?

Anish Venkataraman

Hi,

First of all I am really loving the ST25DV dynamic tags. I am currently trying to write sequential write of 200 bytes of data using I2C. I am able to write the the chip, but I was curious of how many write cycle is this considered. I am writing 200 bytes to the chip every 10mins and I want the device to last atleast 10 years. So I would like some information on the write cycles which would help me in calculating the life expectancy of the chip.

Thanks

Anish

Hello Anish,

I'm relay happy that you love the ST25DV 🙂

Number of write cycles is dependent on different factors, like temperature and if you write always the same bytes or not.

There is an application note (AN5085) on ST's web site that explains this in details and can help you calculate how long you can use the device. Here is the link:

Best regards.
