Hallo dear Community,
for a student projekt I am looking for a solution to communicate with M24LR04E-R which ist ISO15693 Dynamic Tag.
First I choose ST25R3911B-DISCO evaluation kit with ST25R3911B Reader-IC on it. This solution is ISO15693 compilant and it look‘s like a good idea to Read/Write on the M24LR. But it is in the developing phase and I can‘t order that.
So I thought about ordering simple ST25R3911B Reader-IC and upgrade it with a self-made antenna. But the datasheet of the ST25R3911B says nothing about supporting NFC-V (ISO 15693).
Tell me please if I can pair ST25R3911B Reader-IC with
M24LR04E-R Tag
.Best regards, Hanna

Hi Michael,
ST25R3911B does not directly support ISO15693. This protocol is only supported via the so called stream mode of ST25R3911B.
Bit coding/decoding, CRC, etc needs to be done in software.

Hello Hanna,
The ST25R HF reader series provides multiprotocol support for 13.56 MHz NFC / RFID communications as ISO / IEC 14443 Type A or B, ISO / IEC 15693, ISO / IEC 18092, FeliCa and NFC Forum protocols.
Please refer to
http://www.st.com/en/nfc/st25-nfc-rfid-readers.html?querycriteria=productId=SC1540
The provided FW supports all tag products provided by ST. NDEF handling is not part of the current release of the discovery GUI.
We plan to release a new GUI version which will include a Tag Editor where NDEF formatting and handling is demo'ed.
Hth, and best regards,
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
I have the same question as Anna has: The product overview on the ST website clearly states that ST25R39xx devices support ISO / IEC 15693:http://www.st.com/en/nfc/st25-nfc-rfid-readers.html
However, neither the product page, nor the datasheet mention ISO / IEC 15693:
http://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/st25r3911b.pdf
They only refer to ISO 18092 (NFCIP-1) Active P2P, ISO14443A, ISO14443B and FeliCa.On the other side, the GUI software for the ST25R3911B-DISCO works with ISO 15693. I have the demo board running.
Obviously, the ST25R3911B is capable of ISO / IEC 15693. But why is it not mentioned at all in the datasheet? Are there some issues we should be aware of?
