Welcome, @MWestlake, to the community!
Why are you looking for a replacement for a component that is still in production?
Maybe the A6387 would fit, although it has a slightly higher price because of the automotive qualification?

Hi @Peter BENSCH
Thank you for your quick response! If the L6387E is still available, we can't seem to find it. My students need the driver to be a "through hole" model, not a surface mount. Can you point us in the right direction? (We need 10 total) We are using it for our brushless motor control board.
My most sincere gratitude,

Ah, I see. For me, L6387E was the generic term for the gate drivers, of which, however, the L6387E variant in DIP8 together with L6385E has unfortunately already been discontinued at the beginning of 2020. I even looked in my own sample stock to see if I might be able to help you out of it - unfortunately nothing left.
If you don't find a few pieces at some dealer on the internet, you will probably either have to redesign and build new boards or build an adapter that converts the L6387ED in SO8 to DIP8.
I am extremely sorry, but unfortunately I cannot help you in any other way.
Good luck!
Regards
/Peter

Global supply chain issues in the semi-conductor industry mean their aren't parts sitting on distributors shelves, so you can't cash-n-carry. Lead times are pushing 40-80 weeks on many devices.
Try octopart.com or other parts brokers, however limited stocks tend to be expensive, and out of the gray market, ie parts brokered from previous buyers.
