Can i delete the prepositioning phase while using St7MC?

Dear sir,
Now I want to delete the prepositioning phase whilse using st7MC for sensorless control in open loop mode, Can I do like that? becasue you know, with prepositiong phase the motor maybe move reversely in the start-up. Thanks the help! mcuintereestOptions

Dear sir,
the prepos phase is essential to have the best motor start-up in a sensorless system. If, theoretically, you eliminated this stage, you could have in any case a reverse rotation, due to a not well-known rotor position, and, even worst, you could fail at all the motor start-up, causing a sudden rotor-blocked condition. So, in my opinion you should kept the alignment phase... Regards, Tanio
