why are nearly all stm32mp2's completely out of stock?

seriously i just want to design my product around an mp2. literally any. i cant pick one because none of them are in stock.

im clicking every single mp2 variant that exists. then im picking the sub variant, and then the package. like 3 trees deep. not a single one ive found so far is in stock. these have been out for like years now. how am i supposed to use this chip in my product if it's availability is near non existent?

really bad look for st here.

There are 18 different STM32MP2* parts in stock at DigiKey.

all of which are really specific esoteric variants that i don't need. and they'll likely be available now but gone in a month. i can't plan out a long term product on something like that.

The fact of the matter still stands. nearly ever single mp2 variant is not in stock. my first several dozen choices are not in stock. i shouldn't design my entire product around a really esoteric random mp2 that is kind of in stock at digikey in that moment.

The community serves as a global public reference for technical issues, with product users primarily assisting each other. However, questions regarding availability are commercial and always temporary, so you should clarify them with your local distributor.

What makes one chip esoteric and another one not? The chips used by the dev boards are in stock. Those are the most popular and most likely to be stocked.

Choose one that's in stock, or place an order and wait a few months. This feels overly dramatic.
