STM32H7B3LIH6Q – TFT RGB selection and HDMI support

Hello,

I am using STM32H7B3LIH6Q and planning to interface a TFT display via LTDC (RGB interface). I am considering the following options:

• NHD-4.3-800480CF-ASXP (4.3", 800×480, RGB)
• NHD-4.3-480272EF-ASXP (4.3", 480×272, RGB)
• NHD-3.5-320240JF-ASXP (3.5", 320×240, RGB)

Kindly suggest:

1. Which TFT is most suitable for STM32H7 in terms of performance and ease of integration?
2. Is 800×480 the preferred resolution for LTDC + TouchGFX applications?
3. Do these RGB TFT displays support HDMI interface directly?
4. If HDMI output is required, is using an external RGB-to-HDMI bridge (e.g., ADV7511) the correct approach?

Hello,

Look at the STM32H7B3I-EVAL it contains a 7" 800x480 WVGA TFT.

It uses Rocktech LCD, part number: RK070ER9427-CTG. 

For the options you suggested I can't tell. You need to check from your side.

For HDMI you need indeed a HDMI converter. For ADV7511: I don't know you need to check with its manufacturer: Analog Device.

There is a board provided by ST: DSI to HDMI adapter, but unfortunately STM32H7B3 doesn't have DSI interface. I don't know if there is a LCD-TFT to HDMI converter bridge is available from ST.
