Unable to Identify Pin-1 Orientation on M95P08-IXMNT/E – No Visible Marking on Package

Hi,

I am using the M95P08-IXMNT/E flash memory IC and I am unable to identify the Pin-1 orientation on the package.

The device does not appear to have any visible:

  • dot/dimple
  • chamfer
  • laser marking
  • beveled corner

I checked carefully under light and magnification, but I still cannot find any Pin-1 indication.

Could anyone please help with:

  1. How to identify Pin-1 on this package?
  2. Any package photos/reference images?
  3. Whether some lots come without visible Pin-1 markings?

Thanks.

The edge starting with pin 1 is a bit different, see picture.

The SO-8 package should have a chamfer on the Pin-1 side.

Can you share a clear picture?

Thanks for the clarification regarding the Pin-1 orientation of the M95P08-IXMNT/E package.

I am currently interfacing this IC with an STM32H755ZIQ board using SPI. My connections are:

  • SCK -> PA5

  • MISO -> PA6

  • MOSI -> PD7

  • CS -> PA4

I am trying to read the Device ID/JEDEC ID from the flash memory, but I am not getting the expected response value (receiving zeros/invalid data).

Could anyone please help with:

  • Correct SPI configuration required for the M95P08

  • Supported SPI mode (CPOL/CPHA)

  • Required reset/power-up sequence

  • Example command sequence for reading JEDEC ID

  • Whether HOLD/WP pins need pull-ups or specific states

  • Any STM32-specific considerations while interfacing this IC

If anyone has a working initialization/read-ID example, it would be very helpful.

Thanks.
