STR91x External DMA Lines

I am designing an application that will use two STR91x devices back-to-back. I plan on using 16 bits of GPIO to create a high speed parallel comm channel between the two processors.

I'd like to offload the operation of these ports to the DMA channels. I think I could use the DMA_RQSTx lines to implement an External DMA request, but I cannot find any documentation regarding the operation of these lines on the STR91X devices.

Can anyone point me to documentation on DMA_RQSTx? I'd also like to hear anyone's experience using these lines.
