BT 5.0 one to many audio streaming

Hi. I read that it is possible to stream audio using BT 5.0 interfaces, from one to many devices. For example in a home application where I use my smartphon to play sincronized high quality audio in all the rooms. Do you confirm it? Is there an application note about this application? Does it work also in mesh mode?

Hi Giampiero,

Could you provide some URL where you read?

BLE Mesh has one-to-many messaging capability. It will be suitable for a home application, but cannot do one-to-many audio streaming.

Please refer to SDK and documents available in ST web site:

Hi Winfred.

Actually, it's not clear. Someone says it's possible, someone says it's not.

Someone says that it can be achived using a no standard protocol:

Samsung already supports two syncronized streaming:

Hi Giampiero,

For the 2 links you provided, they are not the new features defined by Bluetooth 5.0 (by saying new, i mean 4.2 --> 5.0).

Their audio streamings are not transferred over BLE.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Winfred

Do you mean that it is not a BT 5.0 application and it's possible to stream audio to 2 different BT 4.2 devices like I see in the Samsung Note 8 video?

Regard

Giampiero

Hi Giampiero,

It's possible with the streaming being transferred over Bluetooth classic radio. But it will be more suitable to ask Samsung for their proprietary solution.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Winfred
