Reducing influx of resurrected ancient threads

We see this now more often than before (and there was an increase of this trend due to spam in the last few months even in Salesforce). I'd suggest the following steps:

- consider first-poster moderation to cut back on the spam; yes, I know that means to spend on human work

- remove the autosuggestions when trying to post, which are temptation to unexperienced users to use them as anchor for their first post. They are entirely useless as the AI behind them principially can't convey reasonable results in a technical forum (though it might be good enough for the usual Khoros customers selling cosmetics and alike)

- lock threads older than say two years, this has been done in past and it was workable (assuming Moderators can unlock/modify locked threads upon request).

Perhaps a "Penalty Box" tag that established members can add to Topic list that hides posts from top level views until a member of staff can manage/address. We've got enough eyes here that can identify spam or chat bots within minutes.

We've been using a "Spam" tag over at u-Blox / Salesforce for well over a year to hide material very quickly, so don't know why that wasn't adopted here.
