Posted on January 13, 2015 at 16:10Hallo, I have a STM32L053 eval board with a Bluetooth X-NUCLEO-IDB04A1 board added on top. When I try to get STM32CubeMX to load the extension for BlueNRG, x_cube_ble1.zip, it gives me the message ''This Package version is not managed on this version of STM32CubeMX''. Has anyone any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks, Greg #x_cube_ble1 #stm32cubemx
Posted on October 06, 2016 at 17:48I am trying to configure STM32F030RCTx USART1 and USART3-5 to all have 921600 as the baud rate. USART3 refuses to take a baud rate that high. The highest it takes is 500000, any higher than that and it reverts back to the last entered value (even 500001 is too high).All the other USART I am configuring do not have this problem (the highest baud rate they can take is 1500000).I am having to configure USART3 to have a baud rate of 921600 using the HAL driver after USART3 has been automatically initialised using MX_USART3_UART_Init(). #stm32cubemx
Posted on July 18, 2016 at 10:46Hi I got my nucleo F7 board and have to set up a project asap which recieves TCP/IP (and ideally sends out SPI). After 2 hours I am still a bit lost. Should I go the STM32CUBEMX path? Or how do I get an example project which already has a built in IP handling? Thx #freertos #lwip #nucleo #cubemx #ethernet #lwip

Posted on October 07, 2016 at 09:21Hi All,I made a project with CubeMX 4.16.1. I want to use FreeRTOS as a 3rd party lib. I generate the code to SW4STM32 because I use Eclipse CDT. When I want to compile it, I've got some error:First: in arm_math.h it needs stdint.h because there are a lot of uintxx_t. Second: thre is an error: &sharperror ''Define according the used Cortex core ARM_MATH_CM7, ARM_MATH_CM4, ARM_MATH_CM3, ARM_MATH_CM0PLUS or ARM_MATH_CM0''My questions are:- what is the main config file, where I need to define ARM_MATH_ version?- may I modify arm_math.h to include stdint.h, or is there any better place (header file)?thx,Zamek #cubemx-stm32

Posted on June 29, 2016 at 08:05I'm not entirely sure if this is a bug or not, but I thought I'd describe it anyway. Basically, there are options not present in STM32CubeMX for the CustomHID device which mean that it doesn't work properly if you try to send more than 2 bytes at a time.In the past I've tried making CustomHID devices to pass data to a PC. Lets assume we want a HID device which can pass 64 bytes out ever 1ms.This can be done by opening STM32Cube, and changing the USB_DEVICE to Custom HID device.Then, in USB settings, change the EP size to 64 so that the entire 64 bytes can be passed at once through the endpoint. This part is fine.Next click on 'USB_DEVICE' which opens the settings specific to a custom hid device. Then change the report descriptor size to your liking (lets say 32), and the ''Out-report buffer size'' to 64.The problem with this is that there are two settings missing in STM32CubeMX which are present in the code, that is:- ''CUSTOM_HID_EPIN_SIZE'' and ''CUST

Posted on May 02, 2016 at 11:01Dear all,Actually we are designing a hardware using STM32f407VGT6 micro-controller, already we are accessing this hardware with usb, but in addition we want Ethernet based communication to operate that hardware(access data and control both), so we start to test it first on STM32F4 Discovery kit and Base Board.We download demo code for Http Server using LWIP Stack and run it using Keil ide, the demo code working fine, we were unable to access that web application using IP, that is code to microcontroller.But when we are trying to create a code using STM32CubeMX, it only create lwip code not Http Server code.We don't want to run or use democode, that was ok only for initial demo, now we want to create own using STM32Cube Mx and Keil.So plz anyone help us in this project guide us, ''How to develop Http server application on STM32F4 Discovery Board using STM32CubeMX and Keil''Thank you MembersRegards,Mohit #lwip #stm32cubemx #stm32cubemx #stm32f4 #stm32f4 #!

Posted on September 30, 2016 at 20:36ST,My team has recently started using the OS X version of CubeMX after using the Windows version for the last couple years. Our current project uses an STM32F429NGH6, which has lots of pins. CubeMX is very slow when configuring an MCU with so many pins. On Windows it is slow but tolerable, however on OS X it is nearly unusable. A simple click on a pin to set it via the drop down menu can take 5+ seconds for the dropdown menu to appear and another 5+ seconds for the click on the option to be recognized and menu dismissed.Is there anything you guys can do to improve the performance? I realize that's not necessary an easy thing to do, but it's probably time to focus some efforts on it.We have now moved our embedded development entirely to the Mac and I'm sure many others studios out there are doing the same. I'm sure your other users migrating to the Mac will appreciate any speed improvements you can make with CubeM
Posted on September 30, 2016 at 11:08Hello, I have problems using STM32CubeMX together with KEIL mdk 5. When starting a new project in Keil I can use all the Keil functionality, but when I open Cube from the project runtime environment and initialize everything in there, than I am not able to include Middlewares from Cube in my project. It doesn't include all the files as it does when starting a project in Cube. I can add them manually and this works ok, but this isn't a very maintenance friendly way of coding. On the other hand, when starting a project in Cube I can't add all the Keil CMSIS and Board Support(stm32f4) functionality(only adding RTOS RTX is doable) without getting low level errors. Is there a way of using those two together and use all of there functionality on a user-friendly way? I hope someone can help me with this issue. (and this post is placed instead of having to type it all over..) #stm32cubemx
Posted on March 26, 2016 at 23:44 I tried a new version 4.0 of STM32CubeMX. I selected the STM32F746G-DISCO board. If I set the Detect_SDIO GPIO: Input ad PC13, closed and openedthe ioc file, then the comboboxes are gray and you can not change. Petr stm32cubemx gray-comboboxes
Posted on June 08, 2016 at 18:10I would propose to update the cubemx sw to consider also the errata/chip bugs, to implement the workaround (where there is one) or mark setting as invalid. The tool itself(cubemx) is a very good idea in general, it would save some hours of configuration if it worked. The problem is that it doesn't always work , and you don't know why, then spend hours verifying each bit, then the errata, only to see that the generated configuraiton is not valid, so at the end you have wasted some hours instead of saving any. I had problems with SPI and I2C configurations (both were errata items, btw the I2C is pretty messed up, the amount of bugs/limitations are comparable with the amount of features) The chip in question was stm32f100rb cube fw and mx, the latest to this date. #cubemx-errata-bug
Posted on June 19, 2016 at 10:38Hello,While using STM32CubeMX version 4.15.1, I noticed the following error:When creating user constants, the entered values are checked for size as unsigned integer, if entered as decimals, but as signed integers when entered as hexadecimals.Steps to verify:1) Create a project and choose a DISCOVERY board as target (I chose STM32F429I-DISCO)2) Enable the LTDC and FMC -> SDRAM peripherals3) Configure the clock options4) Go to the Configuration tab5) Open the FMC peripheral configuration and create a user constant ''SDRAM_START_ADDRESS''. Enter 0xD0000000 as its value.When confirmed with OK, the UI will display an error dialog with the message ''Value is not valid!''. But if the constant value is changed to 3489660928, the change is accepted and the constant is added to the project.Just to confirm, I tried adding 0x7fffffff and 0x80000000 as a test. As expected 0x7fffffff is accepted without problems, but 0x80000000 produces the same error messag

Posted on October 04, 2016 at 12:48Hello, We want to use the Full-Duplex I2S interface in a STM32F7 (STM32F769NI) but the CubeMX only allow the Half-Duplex feature, and the libraries doesn't support it. Nevertheless, the STM32F4 Cube allows the Full-Duplex interface (using the stm32f4xx_hal_i2s_ex library). Is there any option to use the I2S Full-Duplex feature with the STM32F7? Thank you #stm32f7 #cubemx #i2s
Posted on June 24, 2015 at 22:25When adding SDIO and FATFS to a project in CubeMX version 4.8.0, I notice there is a new tab in the FATFS configuration settings. This new tab is called ''Platform Settings'', and has selectable options for ''Supported IP's'' and ''Found Solutions''. I'm unable to find information on this new tab in any of the CubeMX documentation. What exactly do these settings do? #sdio #fatfs #stm32cubemx

How do I do it?2) How to pass an argument to a function void StartDefaultTask (void const * argument) and the description of the creation of the task?3) How to enable STemWin in STM32CubeMX project?Help please.Best Regards!Vadim #stm32cubemx-fatfx-freertos
Posted on September 01, 2016 at 13:22Hi, I am using a nucleo - F103RB board for testing its UART. I am using the STM32Cube Mx to generate the codes for the start. I can successfully generate working codes for Usart1 and it can successfully transmit and receive using the HAL library. But when I generate codes for Usart2 using the STM32Cube, I can no longer transmit or receive any data. Does the STM32cube not generate all the required codes for USART2? I am quite new to this so please explain why USART1 is different than USART2 in this case. here is the auto generated code for the USART2 void MX_USART2_UART_Init(void) { huart2.Instance = USART2; huart2.Init.BaudRate = 115200; huart2.Init.WordLength = UART_WORDLENGTH_8B; huart2.Init.StopBits = UART_STOPBITS_1; huart2.Init.Parity = UART_PARITY_NONE; huart2.Init.Mode = UART_MODE_TX_RX; huart2.Init.HwFlowCtl = UART_HWCONTROL_NONE; huart2.Init.OverSampling = UART_OVERSAMPLING_16;
Posted on September 02, 2016 at 20:13I am working on STM32F0. I am suing Uart HAL API to send a command to transmit data over UART which is char *TxBuffer=''ABCD\n\r''; int len = strlen(TxBuffer); HAL_UART_Transmit_IT(&huart,(uint8_t*)TxBuffer,len);However I am unable to send single byte using above Command. If I want to send 'A' , It shows the warning that ''incompatible integer to pointer conversion passing int to parameter type 'uint8_t *'.How can I pass unsigned char values over UART or integer values? I am able to pass string over uart. #stm32 #learn-c #learn-c #cubemx #!stm32 #uart #hal
