Hi.I started to play with STM32MP1 micros and have a problem. How can I add so libraries not having "normal" linux tools? I wrote a simple GTK app and I am missing libpcreposix.so.0
Hello,The starter package of STM32MP1-Ecosystem-v4.1.0 is downloaded to the SD card on STM32MP157D-EV1 board and SD booting is fine as attached log file. The tried layout files were FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157d-ev1-trusted.tsv and FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157d-ev1-optee.tsvHowever, I don't see the below menu screen to select the boot mode for M4 examples. How can I enable the menu screen with the starter package?Select the boot mode 1: stm32mp157c-ev1-sdcard 2: stm32mp157c-ev1-a7-examples-sdcard 3: stm32mp157c-ev1-m4-examples-sdcard <- Select stm32mp157c-ev1-m4-examples-sdcard Enter choice: 3 3: stm32mp157c-ev1-m4-examples-sdcard Retrieving file: /uImageThanks.
I am using STM32MP153 MPU on custom board. Is it possible to read/write memory region using ST-Link connected via JTAG interface? Most interesting if this is possible through some command line interface, perhaps my own C program using some API.
Hello.I use a board STM32MP157A-DK1. I have SD-card with linux and now i try to run the board in KEIL. I have read file "Using STM32MP1 Cortex-M with Keil MDK". But I get error:Error: flash download failed. Also a can see:Full ship erase done.No Algorithm found for: 0000000H - 000003BBHNo Algorithm found for: 1000000H - 1000147FHProgramming skiped.I think that (if i enter options - utilites - settings - add) I have to add the correct algorithm but I get the algorithm whatever i choose. Maybe may I download the correct algorithm?
Hi, many thanks for your assistance!I am using a custom STM32MP157C board, and the problem I am facing is that during the debugging of the CM4 core application, I am unable to automatically transfer the elf file to the destination directory. To actually debug, I have to manually transfer the elf file using the console and scp, manually start the program from the remote device, then I can attach to the remote debugger with file download set to false. This is the error message I get when I try to launch the debugger with the file download enabled: Error in final launch sequence: Failed pre launch Failed pre launch Transfer has failed, please: 1. check your physical connection 2. make sure that your target is still running Linux 3. check your proxy bypass setup inside Network Connections Preferences 4. make sure that your target has enough storage space 5. make sure that remote directory has valid access rights > you can open a Console View for this... Hi,after changing some kernel settings probably, I suddenly can not flash it to our custom STM32MP157 based board. Process fails around 100% of last partition with error: "Error: Error while reading the file"Looks like Cube reads file size incorrectly. There are a number of functions used by the STM32_Programmer_CLI to accomplish secure firmware install and secure secrets provisioning (STM32U5 and STM32MP13 being the targets). I'm looking at what's needed to integrate this process into build/program/test harness - ideally via the API. None of the examples seem to describe how to accomplish this via API. I was able to retrieve the chip certificate for the U5 via the API after wiretapping/verbose debugging of the CLI tool. It pretty straight forwardly reads a specific address via the DFU. What I couldn't figure out is where this address is coming from. On another board (L5) its a different address. I'd really like a general solution for this. Is there documentation or examples of using the API to accomplish the tasks described in AN4992 (STM32MCUs secure firmware install (SFI) overview) or AN5510 (Overview of the secure secret provisioning (SSP) on STM32MP1 Series)?
Hello all,I am used to the regular MCUs STM32Fx families where I'm used that the main.h has all the #defines of the GPIOs and other peripherals.I'm now using STM32MP1 generating code for CM4 and noticed it is generate any #define information.also, it is not initializing GPIOs state. Why is it generating no initialization of GPIOs or other user label #defines?
I would like to program a STM32MP157 using STM32CuneIDE. So by cofiguring the peripherals, generating some interfacing code and make everything work using interrupt driver routines. I do not want to use some operating system. Just writing code for each core.Is that possible?
I am using stm32mp157f-dk2 and followed https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started with help of stmcubeIDE. I am able to debug M4 core and also see SWV prints with ST A7 image and M4 image. Both images are available through above ST web site. I want to try same thing with my Linux image but I am struggling because M4.elf is not getting transferred with default STMcube debug configuration as default debug configuration expects "root" and do not allow to modify username. Is there any way to modify username or is there any way to change debug launch configuration As User name field is "READ ONLY" thus I am not able to modify. Is there any way to modify these debug configuration
I have a Ubuntu 22.04 server I use for building Yocto distros for the STM32 MPUs. I would like to install the programmer on that so I could run some automated tests and flashing on my build images. Is it possible to install the software without the GUI installer?
Noob here..I'm aware I can to access the Cortex-M4 as STMCubeIDE generates both a project and code for it. But the generated project for the A7 is empty. I am only able to access the A7 using Linux? I am currently using Windows.
"Does this mean that I can only use the other three options exclude 'free' in either M4 or A7 and cannot switch between them?"
When debugging my firmware using STM32CubeIDE, the debugger seems to miss the start of the program. As an example, when I put breakpoints right at the top of main(), they are ignored. It's not only a couple of lines that are affected, but pretty much all the initialization etc. cannot be debugged because breakpoints there do not have an effect. It seems to me as if the program would start before the debugger is ready/active, therefore debugging is only possible with a delay. To confirm this, I put the following code at the top of main:int test = 1; while(test) { }The while-loop is not left until I manually change the value of test to 0, which then makes it possible to set breakpoints to other lines following, where breakpoints were ignored before. This is very frustrating, as it makes debugging very cumbersome. Also, if I add a specific call to my main() (HAL_DMA_DeInit()), I get the following error, which also seems to be related to gdb...?Open On-Chip Debugger 0.12.0-rc1+dev-00061-g5e9b
hello. Now I am using stm32mp157a-ev1 board and coding M4 program on stm32cubeide.However, there is a problem that the stm32cubeide stops at 70% after starting to run or debug. And can check the log for errors in metadata.2023-04-04 17:11:23,560 [INFO] LogOutputStream:77 - [STDOUT_REDIRECT] 2023-04-04 17:11:46,018 [ERROR] LogOutputStream:75 - [STDERR_REDIRECT] SLF4J: Failed to load class "org.slf4j.impl.StaticLoggerBinder".2023-04-04 17:11:46,018 [ERROR] LogOutputStream:75 - [STDERR_REDIRECT] SLF4J: Defaulting to no-operation (NOP) logger implementation2023-04-04 17:11:46,018 [ERROR] LogOutputStream:75 - [STDERR_REDIRECT] SLF4J: See http://www.slf4j.org/codes.html#StaticLoggerBinder for further details. The OS environment is Windows 10, and the installation location is installed with the default settings.I can't proceed with the current project, so please help.
Hi,I am using STM32CubeProgrammer version 2.12 running on Windows 10 to connect to the STM32MP157F-DK2 board ST-LINK connector CN-11.I managed to connect and when I click "Firmware upgrade" the STLinkUpgrade 3.4.0 window opens. However, when I press "Open in update mode" I get the error message:Error connecting to device ST-LINK/V2-1 (error 0x3); check USB connection and refresh the device listAt this point the connection is dropped and I have to connect again.I also noticed that the "Current Firmware" was not listed as I expected from my experience of upgrading the ST-LINK firmware on other NUCLEO and DISCOVERY boards.Maybe the current version of STM32CubeProgrammer doesn't yet support the STM32MP157F-DK2 board ?Any help would be much appreciated.Kind regards,Steinar
Hello , This question belongs more to IAR community but still asking it .I was checking this project of OpenAMP : STM32Cube\Repository\STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.6.0\Projects\STM32MP157C-DK2\Applications\OpenAMP\OpenAMP_TTY_echo\STM32CubeIDE\CM4\DebugIt has the elf generated using the STM32CubeIDE project but using IAR or Keil how can we generate the elf file? Also is it possible to debug/run it using IAR on windows?(using STM32Cube Ide there is already a way : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIhzzgJmop0 but I want to do it using IAR.Regards,Pv
I've been trying for hours to read an analog value from a pin and write it over UART with no success on my STM32MP1. I've assigned PF14 to ADC2_INN2 and set IN2 to "IN2 Differential", then I generate the code and when I try to build I get a bunch of errors with regards to HAL functions. I have "#define HAL_ADC_MODULE_ENABLED" in my stm32mp1xx_hal_conf.h, which I thought would be what I needed.
Hi,We are trying to replace UART8 instead of UART4 in uboot and UART8 doesn't work for us.We change to UART3 it work just fine. When we open STM32CubeMX, hopefully we can find something, but seem the application doesn't allow us to select UART8.Anyone know why there is red circle on UART, please?
Hi its me again,I'm told that i need to use SX1280 Transceiver with a STM32MP157A-DK1 (using ARM Cortex A-7 coding in C/C++) for SPI connection, im gonna take that SPI data and save it into a .txt file. Saving it into txt file is the easy, right now i can write given pre-made string into a txt file and save it on the Board. But i actually dont understands how to access/use SPI. i've looked and made some research about SPI in these sites and many more:https://www.semtech.com/products/wireless-rf/24-ghz-transceivers/sx1280 (the transmitter)https://www.analog.com/en/analog-dialogue/articles/introduction-to-spi-interface.html#https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/spi/spi-summarythen i was told that if im gonna use this transmitter then i need to use this driver in my project:https://github.com/YukiWorkshop/sx128x_linux_driverwhich is the real confusing part for me, i can't managed to use this driver. It has some example codes in it (the Test.cpp) but i cant build them and i got several
Hello,We are using STM32MP157A.We are working on IPCC from A7-0,A7-1 to M4.We are getting IPCC interrupt A7-1 to M4,But when we are not getting interrupt from A7-0 to M4.In cubeMx it is showing NVIC to IPCC RX1 and TX1, but not showing to RX0,TX0.we are using CubeMX 6.3.0 and firmware version is STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.4.0.But in reference manual showing IPCC_RX0,IPCC_TX0 these interrupts are available. in our application we need interrupts both A7_0 ,A7_1 processors to M4 controller.please help us in this regards.regardssrikanth
hello, I am connecting the STM32MP157C to the debugger using STDC14 CN1 connector in JTAG mode. Please tell me the pin/signal direction, with regard to the debugger, for the following: Pin 4, T_JTMS Pin 6, T_JCLK Pin 8, T_JTDO Pin 10, T_JTDI The connection fails using the CubeProgrammer. I get the following message: "ST-LINK error (DEV_UNKNOWN_MCU_TARGET)". On the debugger the PWR led lights green and the COM led lights red. The signals I am using to connect are: T_JTMS, T_JTCK, T_JTDI, T_JTDO (STM32MP157C to debugger) and also providing 3.3V to pin 3, T_VCC and of-course connecting the GND pins. I am not connecting STM32MP NJTRST pin to pin 12, T_NRST in the debugger (the STM32MP has an internal PU on it). The STM32MP157C boot mode is JTAG (although doesn't work in USB boot mode). What am I missing here? thanks Gil
