Hi! It's my understanding that ST are moving a lot of work for power management and clocking out of ATF and to OP-TEE. In preparation for this shift my co-developer and I have started out trying to build and run the following software on the STM32MP157F-DK2:linux v5.15-stm32mp-r1u-boot v2021.10-stm32mp-r1arm-trusted-firmware v2.6-stm32mp-r1optee_os 3.16.0-stm32mp-r1Unfortunately the only serial output we get is:NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP157FAC Rev.Z NOTICE: Model: STMicroelectronics STM32MP157F-DK2 Discovery Board NOTICE: Board: MB1272 Var4.0 Rev.C-02 NOTICE: BL2: v2.6-stm32mp1-r1.0(release):v2.6-stm32mp-r1 NOTICE: BL2: Built : 19:38:48, Jun 23 2022 NOTICE: BL2: Booting BL32Build commands are:build optee: make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/armv7-eabihf--glibc--bleeding-edge-2021.11-1/bin/arm-linux- CFG_EMBED_DTB_SOURCE_FILE=stm32mp157f-dk2.dts PLATFORM=stm32mp1 -j16 build ATF: make CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/armv7-eabihf--glibc--bleeding-edge-2021.11-1/bin/arm-linux- PLAT=stm32mp1

Hi everyone, I recently picked up a STM32MP157F-DK2 board and trying out this embedded linux. Very new to it all.I did some research and it looks like the traditional way is to use one of the build systems, such as buildroot to create your own distribution, however as to get a more of a feel and going along on my own paste I would like to get Ubuntu onto this board.Based on the research if you have a .img file it should be the easiest way to get linux up and running just by flashing it to your SD card and having the board boot up from it. This is not the case for me. I tried using this https://ubuntu.com/core/docs/supported-platforms (ubuntu-core-22-pi) reasoning being its a ARM Cortex-A7 as well. The questions that I have are this, why does it not boot up? I just expect for all the hardware not to be handled properly on the STM32MP157 board but still to boot. Is there even a way to get ubuntu onto this board? Once again this is all new to me I am not even sure what I am doing is corre
Hello:I installed 'cups' and 'hplip', and successfully installed HP_ LaserJet_ 1010 driver through 'hp-setup', but when I print files through 'lp', the printer doesn't respond, and a 'filter failed' error occurs. I want to install hplip-3.19.12-plugin_run, but failed. hi,i would like to disable the uart debug console so that i can use uart4 for something else. how do i disable the console?thanks, vince
Hi everyone,I am trying to trim the internal RTC of an STM32MP157 to run slightly faster. According to the reference manual, you need to set bits CALP and CALM[8:0] in RTC_CALR to do so.Here is what I did (using devmem2:(# Enable write access to RTC_CALR ./devmem2 0x5C004024 h 0xCA ./devmem2 0x5C004024 h 0x53 # Write calibration factor (CALP=1, CALM=327) to RTC_CALR ./devmem2 0x5C004028 h 0x8147Reading back the contents of register RTC_CALR returns 0x0147 instead of 0x8147, which corresponds to CALP=0.Measuring the RTC deviation confirms that CALP does not get set to 1.I am aware that using hwclock with adjtime can easily work around this issue. Yet not knowing what is going wrong here keeps bugging me...
Hello all, I have stm32mp157dk2 board and I was using zeep package in it (as custom layer with the help of recipe from ST community). Lately got a need for aiortc package but recieved a recipe from community but the employee has tested it new ecosystem, so it didnt work in older one. So as soon they released new ecosystem, I built the distribution package and added both zeep and aiortc to it.But after flashing the board, pip3 commands are not working, shows "NoModuleFoundError" for "colorsys" whenever I try and the zeep package shows same error for "attr" and aiortc (compiled successfully but) shows "NoModuleFoundError" for "av" . As pip3 is not working I'm unable to get these missing modules. How to fix this issue? Also I'm putting those recipes below, so any suggestions on changes in these recipes to make them work in new ecosystem is appreciated :)DESCRIPTION = "aiortc is a library for Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) and \ Object Real-Time Communication (ORTC) in Python." I connected the board to the OTG port. In the DFU mode, the USB port can be recognised correctly. When switching to the normal mode, Windows 10 cannot recognise the device. I tried to force to install the device as "Remote NDIS Compatible Device". Windows shows device status as "This device cannot start (Code 10)".I have stuck on this issue for more than 2 weeks. Please help!
I have configured the pins for uart7 to communicate with our zwave chip.in kernel-source/arch/arm/boot/dts/stm32mp157c-dk2.dts&uart7{ pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; pinctrl-0 = <&uart7_pins_a>; pinctrl-1 = <&uart7_sleep_pins_a>; status = "okay"; zwave { uart7-gpios = <&gpioi 5 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>, <&gpioi 7 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>, <&gpioc 7 GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW>; }; /* USER CODE BEGIN uart7 */ /* USER CODE END uart7 */ };kernel-source/arch/arm/boot/dts/stm32mp15-pinctrl.dtsi : uart7_pins_a: uart7-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 15, AF13)>; /* UART7_TX */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <0>; }; pins2 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('E', 7, AF7)>; /* UART7_RX */ bias-disable; }; }; uart7_sleep_pins_a: uart7-sleep-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('A', 15, ANALOG)>, /* UART7_TX */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 7, ANALOG)>; /* UART7_RX */ }; };I want to control the chip wit
Hello, I'm new to the liniux embedded system. We need LTE 4g module (location india) with GPS which can be connected to STM32MP157 through usb or any other peripheral. Is there any module to use it. Thank your
HelloI was wondering if you planned to support kirsktone (next yocto LTS) supposed to be released soon. Do you have any info on the port? Thanks
The image that comes with the board has WiFI and USB OTG working. I am adding additional networking (VPN, firewall) to my Yocto build. I have attempted to build core-image-base and am able to see the wlan0 adapter but something in that build is disabling the VPN.
Hi STM-Community,I'm having problems getting to work the GPIOS of the banks F and G of the STM32MP151DADX with the TFBGA257 Package.Firstly, I see the following error at boot time: [ 1.527623] stm32mp157-pinctrl soc:pin-controller-z@54004000: at least one GPIO bank is required [ 1.527793] stm32mp157-pinctrl: probe of soc:pin-controller-z@54004000 failed with error -22Which seems plausible as the uP I'm using doesn't have a Z-Port. I tried to remove the error by deleting the pinctrl_z of the DTS as follows:soc { /delete-node/ pin-controller-z@54004000; };But then UBoot's dts compiltion fails as pinctrl_z and gpioz are hardcoded in UBoot's sources. My first question is: How can I avoid the pin-controller-z being loaded unnecessarily? I just want to fix this to discard it has an impact on my actual problem.Regarding to the GPIOF and GPIOG:The gpioinfo command shows the pins being unused:gpiochip5 - 6 lines: line 0: unnamed unused input active-high line 1: unnamed unused input active-h
Hi, I am looking all through the wiki, but I do not see any clue on using the tampers as a wakeup source. How can I configure the tampers to wake up the stm32mp1 from low power modes? Is it posible to wake up from VBAT? Or is VBAT only a energy mode to maintain the data in the memories? Can I run a piece of code in VBAT mode? If so, how could I do it? What restrictions do apply? When I say a piece of code, I mean it can be baremetal or linux or whatever it can run.Best regards,Andrés
Is it possible to use OTP WORD 24 to 31 without enable security boot with STM32MP1 part numbers which didn't has security boot option like STM32MP157A/D?Same as above but with STM32MP1 part numbers which has security boot option like STM32MP157C/F?
Hello,I am working stm32mp157c. It has two processor (A7 and M4). They can communicate with each other over virt uart(rpmsg). When I want to send a message to a7 over m4, if the message is filled with constant data, everything is ok. If the message is filled with sequential data, the data cannot be fully transmitted. For example,while(1){OPENAMP_check_for_message();uint8_t buffer[496] = { 0 };for(uint16_t i = 0; i < sizeof(buffer); i++) buffer[i] = 48;VIRT_UART_Transmit(&huart0, buffer, sizeof(buffer));HAL_Delay(1000);}In the above case everything is ok. But the following situationwhile(1){OPENAMP_check_for_message();uint8_t buffer[496] = { 0 };for(uint16_t i = 0; i < sizeof(buffer); i++) buffer[i] = i;VIRT_UART_Transmit(&huart0, buffer, sizeof(buffer));HAL_Delay(1000);}It can only receive 251 of 496 bytes of data. IPCC clock speed is 210MHz.What could be the problem?
So basically I'm trying to implement WebRTC and seems like aiortc is its python implementation right now:.Unable to manually install them using pip3 as it requires some dev-packages.I tried to install it as a layer using pipoe auto-generated recipe, but no luck as it goes on with errors. A working recipe and additions that has to be done to local.conf or CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL variable would be appreciated :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:.
Hi: I have a MIPI LCD ,the driver IC is S6D7AA0X04,the LCD brief shows that the data lane is 4,and the pixels is (1280x800) less than 1366*768,if LCD data lane is configurable,Can I drive it with the STM32MP157C?thanks?
This feels like a dumb question but I can't find the answer through Google and I've spent some time looking.I'm giving a high level presentation tomorrow and in the first slide I'm describing the difference between ST MPUs and MCUs. For the life of me I can't find what the "U" stands for, however...Can anyone help me?
I'm using the 2.1.0 ecosystem with an STM32MP157A-EV1 and am having some problems with running a customized FreeRTOS build on the M4 core while running Linux on the A7s.I have modifed the linker script so that the code is in SRAM1&SRAM2, resource table & OPENAMP rings & buffers in SRAM3 and data in the rest of SRAM3 and the bss in the RETRAM above the vector table. I'm using FreeRTOS v10.3.1 rather than v10.2.1 that is provided by STM32CubeIDE 1.5.1 & the 1.3.0 FW pack but the port.c code looks the same on both.My code works fine running in engineering mode with FreeRTOS running my tasks fine. However when I try to use either the built-in STLink on the EV1 or an external Segger J-Trace Pro Cortex-M the system faults when it tries to execute the 'svc 0' call during scheduler start. If I build a simple dummy FreeRTOS CubeIDE-generated project I can now - after some wrestling with the debuggers - get that to start FreeRTOS okay via Linux.Any ideas on what else to check woul
I am trying to run an FTPM in a trusted environment generated by OPTEE. I can see OpenSTLinux has support for OPTEE, TPM but there is no support for ftpm. Can someone give me pointers as how I can include ftpm in distro(openstlinux-weston). ftpm souce code is made available by Microsoft but I want to know how I can make it work on STM board.
Hello,Since we have an outgoing shortage of components, I am trying to figure out what I can use to do complex math calculations to offload from FPGA.STM32MP1 looks like a good device and could replace STM32H747, but I need a connection to the FPGA register system at very high speed. It does have FMC, but only 16 bits. What I would like to use is a 32b bus, since all of my data is that size.Is it possible to use a DDR interface for that ? I just need to have 32b of data, address pins, as well as some latch signals like read and write, and maybe clock.
