Hi.I am following the instructions written in STM32MP1 Developer Package - stm32mpu and meta-st-stm32mp/README.HOW_TO.txt at kirkstone · STMicroelectronics/meta-st-stm32mp · GitHub to build u-bootWhen I execute make -f $PWD/../Makefile.sdk all, I get following message. Missing u-boot-stm32mp157a-dk1-trusted.dtb file in folder: '$FIP_DEPLOYDIR_UBOOT' or '$FIP_DEPLOYDIR_ROOT/u-boot'make: *** [/home/itron/Documents/workspace/STM32MP1/Developer-Package/stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.15-yocto-kirkstone-mp1-v22.06.15/sources/arm-ostl-linux-gnueabi/u-boot-stm32mp-v2021.10-stm32mp1-r1-r0/u-boot-stm32mp-v2021.10-stm32mp1-r1/../Makefile.sdk:130: fip] Error 1I did cd $PWD/../../FIP_artifacts/u-boot, I can see u-boot-stm32mp157a-dk1-trusted.dtb is in there though.I am using v22.06.15 for SDK and SourceThanks in advance
Hi ST experts,Would like to check if STM's MPU able to support Window CE 6 or Linux platform?Thank you
Hi!Problem: The board boots correctly into the Linux kernel, but the kernel is unable to mount the rootfs. We designed a custom board using stm32mp157f. It is based on the DK2 with some differences:PLL Base clock 48Mhz (instead of 24MHz)Other power supply than the pmic (with a fixed power regulators)eMMC on board (not used)Therefore changes to the tf-a and u-boot (dts) had to be made. The changes were applied on copies of the dts files for stm32mp157f-dk2.u-boot sees mmc0:STM32MP> mmc info Device: STM32 SD/MMC Manufacturer ID: 9f OEM: 5449 Name: SDCIT Bus Speed: 50000000 Mode: SD High Speed (50MHz) Rd Block Len: 512 SD version 3.0 High Capacity: Yes Capacity: 15 GiB Bus Width: 4-bit Erase Group Size: 512 Bytesand is able to load the kernel and initrd:bootcmd_nexio boot_syslinux_conf extlinux/nexio_extlinux_6.conf switch to partitions #0, OK mmc0 is current device Scanning mmc 0:4... CK_SCMI0_HSE is a syntax error when compiling with dtc, but it does not exist in the file stm32mp1-clks/h. Is it okay to set it to CK_HSE?
Hello everyone,I need a way to synchronize A7 and M4 cores (find the same timestamp) within 1 ~ 2 usec. Is there any shared timer or resources except for memory and virtual serial com between these two cores? I have a PPS signal and I want A7 to be aware of its arrival, but it has a 10 usec latency from the moment the PPS signal arrives! I do appreciate it if you let me know about viable methods I can take to mitigate this issue. Best,Saeed
Hi ST Community,I have been trying to add the WLAN interface to my stm32mp157f-dk2 board with the distro "openstlinux-weston" and the machine "stm32mp1" without success with the following documentation:I have applied the kernel configuration given in chapter 3 of the following link https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/WLAN_overview#How_to_use_WLANI checked that the file "stm32mp157f-dk2.dts" has the configuration described in the chapter 3.2 of the following link https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/WLAN_device_tree_configuration#cite_note-stm32mp151.dtsi-6Also I checked that the stm43mp1.conf file (machine configuration file) has the following settings MACHINE_FEATURES += "wifi" WIFI_LIST += "linux-firmware-bcm43430"After applying all these settings and rebuilding the image, when I connect to the stm32mp157f-dk2 board and apply the command "ifconfig -a" I don't see any new WLAN interface.Maybe I'm missing something? Thanks in advance
Hi! I have created a program to send messages between cores (A7 and M4), using virtual uart. The messages that are sent from the A7 core are received by the M4 core. My error occurs when I try to read the messages that are sent from the M4 core to the A7. The program that I have created in linux is the following (M4 program is running): How can I read the messages that are sent from the M4 core?Is there any example to follow? Thanks!
Hello, I would like to disable the thermal shutdown at 120C on STM32MP157A-DK1 which embeds a STM32MP157A. It runs Yocto Project and contrary to other boards I worked on, I cannot turn off and even change the critical temperature (the procedure is the same on other boards it succeeded) so the board is turning off itself.Any help is welcome. Thank you
Hi,I'm using stm32mp153c and I managed to start M4 code after the SPL initialization and before U-BOOT. All initializations work fine except for the MX_OPENAMP_Init.I see that if I start the code after SPL the variable of num_of_vrings (that is equal to the define VRING_COUNT 2) is 0. Whereas if I start the M4 code directly from linux the variable is set to 2 and the OPENAMP initialization works.I tried to set a delay of 1 minute before the IPCC and OPENAMP initializations (in order to wait for LINUX to enable virt_uart and rpmsg_sdb devices) but the OPENAMP initialization still failed.Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.Best regards,Andrea
Hi there, I've got an STM32MP157F-DK2 devkit, I managed to set up all the packages, including Yocto distribution (Distribution Package) and all seems to be working fine for me. Now I'm starting to modify ST distribution, just to get used to the environment. ... I'm working on the splash screens right now. I easily changed the Uboot splash screen: I only needed to modify .bb recipe for uboot splash and copy the correct images to the right folder. Now I'm trying to modify also the Kernel splash screen, and things started to get really confusing... I did some research and I discovered that the ST meta-layer seems to use a modified version of psplash script from Poky. I found that in the layer meta-st/meta-st-openstlinux/recipes-core/psplash/psplash-drm there's what I'm looking for. However, I can't figure out how to make things work properly. What do I have to change? What kind of images should I use? (I tried png 480x272 8bits depth but they seem not working) Thanks so muchSimone
Hi there, I'm starting developing on an STM32MP157F-DK2 kit, and I wanted to build my own distribution, starting from the distribution package (STM32MP1 Distribution Package - stm32mpu). At the first compilation, the bitbake st-image-weston takes reaaaally long time. I already used Yocto with older projects, using competitors' boards, and I never faced such a slow compilation time, which seems weird to me. Do you have any suggestions to speed up the process for your distribution? I tried already to modify BB_NUMBER_THREADS and PARALLEL_MAKE parameters in local.conf file but I didn't notice any real difference. Other ideas? PS: I'm running my compilation on a virtual machine (running Ubuntu 20.04 lts OS), which has the minimum raccomandations that I found in some other thread here (sorry I don't remember where exactly): 6Gb of ram (ddr4 3200mhz) and 2 cores of physical CPU (intel i7-1165G7), totally not a bad machine in my opinion. Thank youSimone
Hi, I have upgraded to Ecosystem 3.1.1 and have started to get warnings in TF-A when booting up my stm32mp151c. These are the warnings: NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP151CAA Rev.B NOTICE: Model: STMicroelectronics custom STM32CubeMX board NOTICE: Bootrom authentication failed WARNING: regulator_get_by_phandle: phandle 14 not found WARNING: VDD unknown INFO: Reset reason (0x15): INFO: Power-on Reset (rst_por) INFO: FCONF: Reading TB_FW firmware configuration file from: 0x2ffdd000 INFO: FCONF: Reading firmware configuration information for: stm32mp_io INFO: FCONF: Reading firmware configuration information for: tbbr INFO: Using EMMC INFO: Instance 2 INFO: Boot used partition fsbl1 WARNING: regulator_get_by_phandle: phandle 19 not foundEverything works as expected and the board boots as normal. But I don't understand why these warnings appear. I have localized in the source code that there are some patches added to the TF-A in ecosystem 3.1.1. In tf-a-stm32mp/plat/st/stm32mp1/stm32mp1_syscfg.c /* Ge
We are migrating from ecosystem version 2.1.0 to 4.0.0. We have a custom board with STM32MP157C.After resuming from STANDBY the ADCs and DAC, used by M4, no longer work. They are initialized and started without error, but all ADC channel data reads 2048. For the DAC, the DOR1 register reflects the data written to it, but there is no output on the DAC_OUT1 pin.Additional information:The ADCs and DAC are used with DMA.The ADCs and DAC work fine after cold boot.On ecosystem version 2 the ADCs and DAC work both after cold boot and after resume from standby. We use trusted boot.

Hi, I cannot debug stm32mp157-dk2 on macOS (stm32cubeide). I have those logs in the console:Does anyone know how to resolve it? :)
HiCurrently, I'm designing a PCB with "STM32MP151AAD3T".I'm developing our own PCB with reference to "STM32MP157x-EV1".DDR trace wiring is described in Section 3.2 of "AN5122" as follows:********************************************************************************Point-to-point connection of the data bus (2 swappable bytes, and swappable bits in the same byte):– 16 data signal bits (DQ)– 2 data mask signals (DQMx)– 2 differential clocks (DQSx_N/DQSx_P)********************************************************************************What kind of criteria should I apply to swap bits(DQ) in the same byte? Can I prioritize pattern routing?Best regards,
Hi,I am using stm32mp157a processor in my custom board. Fsbl and ssbl is booting from Sd card. When i try boot through Emmc it is not working, even files are not loading. I have followed below link for emmc booting https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00000HypghSAB/emmc-questionsWhen i enter ext4load mmc 0:4 0xC0000000 tf-a-stm32mp157a-dk1.stm32 command in u boot prompt it is showing below Error.Failed to load tf-a-stm32mp157a-dk1.stm32. What is the issue. How can i resolve this error.
We're using Ecosystem 2.1.0 still (I know!).I'm using the CubeMX autogen code i.e.rcc_pins_mx: rcc_mx-0 { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; pins1 { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('G', 2, AF1)>; /* RCC_MCO_2 */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <1>; }; pins2 { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('I', 11, AF0)>; /* RCC_MCO_1 */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <0>; }; }; rcc_sleep_pins_mx: rcc_sleep_mx-0 { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; pins { u-boot,dm-pre-reloc; pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('G', 2, ANALOG)>, /* RCC_MCO_2 */ <STM32_PINMUX('I', 11, ANALOG)>; /* RCC_MCO_1 */ }; }; If this is in U-Boot's devicetree, U-Boot locks up with no message on start-up.If I take it out of U-Boot's devicetree but leave it in the kernel's, U-Boot starts up fine but the kernel locks up, again with no panic or other output.
Hello We are unable to write into USBH registers in stm32mp157. Actually, we enabled USBHEN and USBHLPEN bits in AHB6ENSETR and AHB6LPENSETR registers. Then we are unable to access USB memory. We tried other peripherals same way means enabling clock in rcc registers and accessing respected peripherals memories. Now what is the issue to USB and How can I access USBH memory. we followed RM0436 manual. Thanks & regardssrikanth
Hi, I tried burning my STM32MP1 board with existing "FlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp157a-ev1-trusted.tsv" file but it throws following error - Error: TSV files are only supported for STM32MPI'm using onboard eMMC (From Kioxia) and STM32MP157AAD3 chip from ST. Hi,teamCurrently, I'm designing a PCB with "STM32MP151AAD3T".I'm designing our own PCB with reference to "STM32MP157x-EV1".When developing software using this EVM, the connection to PC shown in the attached figure is recommended as following URL.(https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-EV1/Let%27s_start/Unpack_the_STM32MP157x-EV1_board)I have questions about the connection with two connectors as follows.Q1. About "ST-LINK/V2-1 Connector"Is it correct to consider that connecting this USB connector to a PC is equivalent to connecting via ST-LINK?For the PCB I'm designing, I want to use a JTAG connector to connect ST-LINK instead of the USB connector.Q2. About "USB OTG Connector"What can I do by connecting the USB OTG connector to a PC?Best regards,
Hi,teamI'm developing a PCB using the following parts now.*********************STM32MP151AAD3T(MCU)STPMIC1APQR(PMIC)MT41K256M16TW-107:P(DDR3L)*********************The VDD and VDDQ voltages of the "MT41K256M16TW-107:P(DDR3L)" are 1.35V, but the default voltage of BUCK2 is 1.1V.(It is recommended to supply power from BUCK2 to DDR)Therefore, the voltage setting of BUCK2 must be changed from 1.1V to 1.35V.Does the bootloader do this? (it cannot be set by the user program, because DDR is not launched)Best regards,
Hi,I am following the steps in STM32MP15 Evaluation boards - Starter Package - stm32mpu. I am using Ubuntu 20.04 on Oracle virtualbox 6.1.40STM32CubeProgrammer is v2.11.0, and STM32MP1-Ecosystem-v4.0.0 release stm32mp1-openstlinux-5.15-yocto-kirkstone-mp1-v22.06.15.I am trying to execute STM32_Programmer_CLI -c port=usb1 -w flashlayout_st-image-weston/trusted/FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157f-ev1-trusted.tsv but then it throws me the error message:Memory Programming ...Opening and parsing file: st-image-bootfs-openstlinux-weston-stm32mp1.ext4 File : st-image-bootfs-openstlinux-weston-stm32mp1.ext4 Size : 64.00 MB Partition ID : 0x10 Download in Progress:[======================================== ] 80% Error: failed to download Segment[0]Error: failed to download the FileError: Download partition 0x10 failedError: TSV flashing service failedAny suggestion for this?
After following the wiki page "how to create your board device", I am exactly in the situation indicated at the end of this page : "The execution should fail just after the "Booting BL32" notice, because state definitions are missing in the device tree (in the pwr node overlay)".For information, I don't use the Yocto (layers etc) env and the full OpenSTLinux distrib, but rather a custom buildchain and the ***-stm32mp-r2 sources (TF-A 2.4, U-boot 2020.10 & linux 5.10 with lightened conf). All of this works well on the EV-1 board using the associated ST conf (dts etc.) and I am now trying to port all that on a custom board. In my porting task, I am then guessing the next step is to add custom-made conf in device trees, especially the pwr node. I would get inspiration from the EV-1 dts but my custom board does not have a PMIC as our stm32mp151 doesn't need to manage low power modes (which should make it more simple?), among other little differences.Where could I find ressources / doc /
