Updated post to reflect permanent fix Dear STM32CubeIDE user, Further to the recent STM32CubeIDE project creation issue, we would like to inform you that a solution is now available for you. This permanent fix applies to all STM32CubeIDE versions. Issue description When creating a new STM32 project in STM32CubeIDE, the “STM32Cube” radio button may have become unresponsive, blocking the “Next” button after the product selection screen. This prevented the project creation from being completed. Permanent fix You can apply this resolution to any STM32CubeIDE version, even if you applied the temporary workaround that we recently shared with you. Open STM32CubeIDE. Refresh the database.Go to Help > STM32Cube updater > Select “Check the Target selector Device Database Updates” Restart STM32CubeIDE If you deactivated the auto refresh function previously, you may wish to reactivate it for all your STM32Cube tools. Here is how to proceed: STM32CubeIDE:Go to Window > Preferences
HI With some help from @Gregory PLANCHON and @Olivier GALLIEN I can now boot the processor in M33-TD flavour. Our application wants to also use the Cortex M0+ for a very low power mode. How to use the Cortex-M0+ - stm32mpu tells how to do this from A35/Linux environment. Is there a similar document on how to do this from M33/FreeRTOS environment?
Hi I am using a STM32MP257F-EV1 board, and I am trying to build the demonstration exampleSTM32CubeMP2/Projects/STM32MP257F-EV1/Demonstrations/StarterApp_M33TDI am using command line (not IDE)I have cloned and built TF-M for SDCARD_SDCARD and EMMC_EMMC modes and can see the resultant binariesI have built the Application and can see the binaries (including the tfm and bl2 binaries copied from the tfm area).I now want to flash onto my board. I am following the instructions in the README.html file in the top level of the project structure. It mentions some flash layout files. For the MP25-EV1 board, five TSV flavors are provided to flash under the M33TDCID profile: - `FlashLayout_emmc_stm32mp257f-ev1-cm33tdcid-ostl-optee.tsv`- `FlashLayout_nor-emmc_stm32mp257f-ev1-cm33tdcid-ostl-optee.tsv`- `FlashLayout_nor-nor-sdcard_stm32mp257f-ev1-cm33tdcid-ostl-optee.tsv`- `FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp257f-ev1-cm33tdcid-ostl-optee.tsv`- `FlashLayout_nor-sdcard_stm32mp257f-ev1-cm33tdci
I am working on STM32MP257F. I read the Artical "How to perform Secure Boot from Distribution Package". It doesn't seem to mention Sign or Sign & Encrypt FIP Binary manually. In my case it is necessary to Sign/Sign & Encrypted FIP binary manually and do it outside of Yocto. This is done only with 1 specific person and does not expose the private key. Please give me an example to Sign/Sign & Encrypt FIP binary manually using STM32_SigningTool_CLI.Thanks.
Hi, I'm doing a custom hardware design. I'd like to use LPDDR4 but only at 16bits of data width. Is there a list of LPDDR4 parts from Micron, ISSI, or others that are known to work with the STM32MP257?Are any parts that claim LPDDR4 ok?Thanks,John
I created an STM project of the STM32MP157f-dk2 in eclipse.I've tried to build the entire A7 core linux code. How do I replace what's on the dk2 now? The dk2 just has the starter package on it.
I'm very proud of STM32MP1 and I want to continue to learn more about the STM32MP products. So, I'm planning to create another single board computer such as the open source project STM32-Computer. My next project will be STM64-Computer, which will use STM32MP257.I have some questions that are refering to the STM32MP2 series. Can I surf on Youtube with that? Can I stream with that? Can I use regular programs such as Libre Office, Putty, Java, VS Code on that? Are there any limitations? How powerfull is the GPU? E.g can it do facial recognition? Is the setup, configuration, hard ware etc. almost the same as STM32MP1? I mean, if I have made a single board computer with STM32MP151, then a STM32MP257 will be exactly the same, just another more expensive and power full processor? Why is STM32MP257 so difficult to get? I can only see DigiKey have some few in stock. Is it possible to route the conductors on the PCB with 4 layers PCB, or do I need 6 layers or more for the STM32MP257? I know the getting
Hello all,Sorry if I'm not doing everything perfect about this post but this is my very first :).So i'm currently working on the STM32MP13 DK - Starter package (on STM32MP135F-DK)And when executing the command : STM32_Programmer_CLI -c port=usb1 -w flashlayout_st-image-weston/optee/FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp135f-dk-optee.tsv which job is to flash the image into the sd card i'm getting the following log. I'm working on oracle VM, Ubuntu 24.04.If you have any question about my setup I'll be happy to answer you.Théo Log :Start Embedded Flashing service Opening and parsing file: tf-a-stm32mp135f-dk-optee-programmer-usb.stm32Memory Programming ...File : tf-a-stm32mp135f-dk-optee-programmer-usb.stm32Size : 86.52 KBPartition ID : 0x01Download in Progress:[==================================================] 100%File download completeTime elapsed during download operation: 00:00:02.171RUNNING Program ...PartID: :0x01Reconnecting the device ...Error: Unable to reconnect the target
On the M4 core of a stm32mp157 I am using FIFO based FDCan communication.Messages are sent and received just fine but I think when I send too many messages in a short time some messages are getting lost.So I added a call to HAL_FDCAN_GetTxFifoFreeLevel before calling HAL_FDCAN_AddMessageToTxFifoQ to make sure there is space in the FIFO, but HAL_FDCAN_GetTxFifoFreeLevel always returns 0.Here some parts of my fdcan configuration:RxFifo0ElmtsNbr = 8;RxFifo0ElmtSize = FDCAN_DATA_BYTES_8;RxFifo1ElmtsNbr = 0;RxFifo1ElmtSize = FDCAN_DATA_BYTES_8;RxBuffersNbr = 0;RxBufferSize = FDCAN_DATA_BYTES_8;TxEventsNbr = 0;TxBuffersNbr = 0;TxFifoQueueElmtsNbr = 35;TxFifoQueueMode = FDCAN_TX_FIFO_OPERATION;TxElmtSize = FDCAN_DATA_BYTES_8; What am I missing?
Has anyone here tried to stream Youtube or old playing games on STM32MP257?144p, 240p, 360, 780p, 1080p etc. Quake, Doom, Half-Life, perhaps Half-Life 2 as well. What was your experience and limitations? Very curious to know.
Hello, st:The board I have on my hand is stm32mp257f-ev1.Now I have a problem. The gstreamer cannot work properly when playing mp4 format video.Does the h264 decoder need to be activated or enabled?I run this commandgst-launch-1.0 playbin3 uri="file:///home/root/Videos/2002.mp4"here is the error:and also the gst-discovery-1.0root@stm32mp2-e3-c2-aa:~# gst-discoverer-1.0 Videos/2002.mp4 Analyzing file:///home/root/Videos/2002.mp4 Done discovering file:///home/root/Videos/2002.mp4 An error was encountered while discovering the file Failed to configure H264 decoderIt seems that I can play webm format video but not mp4.I tried the software decode avdec_h264, but it only has 15 fps.But in fact the h264 plugin has been installed on my board.root@stm32mp2-e3-c2-aa:~# gst-inspect-1.0 | grep h264 codectimestamper: h264timestamper: H.264 timestamper libav: avdec_h264: libav H.264 / AVC / MPEG-4 AVC / MPEG-4 part 10 decoder rtp: rtph264depay: RTP H264 depayloader rtp: rtph264pay: RTP H264 payloa
Hello,I am running on a stm32mp255dak processor with Linux running on the A35 core and FreeRTOS on the M33 core. I am running the M33 core code out of DDR.I am seeing an issue where the M33 core performance takes a hit and missed deadlines when the A35 core loads the DDR. The issue is very similar to the one described in this forum. https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1220944/am625-lpddr4-access-priority Does anyone know where to start looking to find the root cause of this issue? I done some investigation into the DDRCTRL registers and tired to mess if the QoS of the A35 core, but that did not seem to make a difference. It seems like the issue is a DDR contention issue between the two cores.
Hello all,I would like to use industrial cameras (for example GigE cameras, by using ethernet port) by connecting to STM32MP135F-DK and grab images. Is it possible and is there any instruction to do this?Thank you.
my code only made changes the io, no rtos, no interrupt, but it cost over 1 us. the picture is that io sta. and clock
Hi Team, I am able to test "can0" module, from OpenSTLinux running on STM32MP257F-EV1 board, using the attached code "STM32MP2_Can0Test.c" compiled to binary (using AARM64 cross compiler from OpenSTLinux SDK) and PEAK PCAN Usb connected to FDCAN1 DB9 port of EV1 board, and results are as expected (found can0 to be working fine for Tx and Rx), see attached screenshot STM32MP2_Can0Test_Result.png. I changed can0 to can1 in STM32MP2_Can0Test.c and saved it as STM32MP2_Can1Test.c and tested for can1. However, I wasn't able to Tx/Rx using EV1 on can1 channel (FDCAN2). steps followed are exactly same as that of can0 test. Please let me know if I am missing anything. Below is the ssh terminal steps followed and the result for can0 test.C:\Users\venka>ssh root@192.168.7.1The authenticity of host '192.168.7.1 (192.168.7.1)' can't be established.RSA key fingerprint is SHA256:q3nsWskxawn3YSFrCOGu5GHq28FltL353TXSnbgDP0s.This key is not known by any other names. Are
I am working on STM32 Trusted Package Creator. I read the artical How to deploy SSP using a step-by-step approach at section "3.1.2.2. Secret file content for STM32MP2 series". I need to create a secret file that contain FIP-EDMK OTP as the image below:Could you please explain on Enc/Wrap box. When should I select No Encryption? When should I select Wrapping? When should I select Encryption? For the FIP-EDMK What should I select?

Hi, I am working on STM32MP257f-EV1 evaluation board. i want boot my board from emmc i have tried through stmcube programmer from this link as provided by stwiki https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP2_boards/STM32MP257x-EV1/Let%27s_start/Populate_the_target_and_boot_the_image Even after many times i am unable to boot from emmc i have tried by giving the supply through stlink abd also through jack but i am unable to identify the usb_drd port irrespective of supply Can you please give me a solution for this and guide me. Warm regards,Sirisha.
I am following the "How to deploy SSP using a step-by-step approach". I am working on "3.1.2.2. Secret file content for STM32MP2 series". The target MPU is STM32MP257F. I have some questions as below:1. How do I know whether to choose "Format 1" or "Format 2"?2. I selected the binary file as FIP-EDMK, which is 256-bit but the KeySize shows 128-bit and it won't let me select 256-bit again. Is this acceptable?
I'm investigating 2.5Gb Ethernet PHYs for our STM32MP257D board. Most, if not all, require SGMII which is not explicitly supported in the ST MPU documentation.Anyone been down this road?Anyone know of a compatible 2.5Gb PHY that can use the STM32MP2xx RGMII?Thx
HiWe have a project that will use STM32MP257F on a custom hardware design.I have a STM32MP257F-EV1 board which I intend to use for early development. Our customer has a very strict boot time requirement so we want to use the Cortex M33 as the first boot processor and TF-M masterWe want to boot the Cortex A35 processors and leave them in a standby or low power state as the first application does not need them.In the STM32ubeMP2 package I found STM32CubeMP2/Projects/STM32MP257F-EV1/Demonstrations/StarterApp_M33TDwhich according to its README file, does almost exactly what I want. However I am having difficulty building it according to the instructions in the README file. Here's what I didI created a new workspace at the top level of my Linux shellmkdir workspace2cd workspace2I downloaded the STM32CubeMP2 package from GitHub and checked its tags. Output is belowgit clone https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeMP2Cloning into 'STM32CubeMP2'...remote: Enumerating objects: 14087, done.
Hi,I’m having an issue with flashing OpenSTLinux Android (OpenST-Droid) on the STM32MP257F-EV1 board.I followed the instructions in the following document:STM32MPU Distribution Package for Android - stm32mpuHow to build OpenSTDroid distribution - stm32mpuHow to populate boards for Android - stm32mpu However, when I start the flashing process using STM32CubeProgrammer, it stops at 0x01 and does not proceed further.Could anyone help me understand what might be causing this issue, and how to resolve it? Thanks in advance!
I'm following this guide https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MPU_Developer_Package and I'm stuck at 5.2.3. Building and deploying the Linux kernel for the first time.
