I'm trying to perform the first boot on the STM32MP257F-EV1 following this guide: STM32MP25 Evaluation boards - Starter Package. I've connected the LCD screen to the board according to the instructions.The board is powered by USB-C on CN21, and the status LEDs are as follows:LD11 greenLD6 greenLD5 blinksI've tried to flash the microSD card (SANDISK 16GB) using both methods provided in the guide. 6.2. Image flashing ( STM32CubeProgrammer tool DFU mode)I've followed all the steps and got the following messages: stm32mp2$ STM32_Programmer_CLI -l usb ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.17.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- ===== DFU Interface ===== Total number of available STM32 device in DFU mode: 1 Device Index : USB1 USB Bus Number : 001 USB Address Number : 002 Product ID : DFU in HS Mode @Device ID /0x505, @Revision ID /0x100 Serial number : 00270
Hi everyone,I'm a beginner when it comes to STM32 MPU, and from the very beginning I've had an issue with the HDMI output on my STM32MP257F-DK board, which I received from my university. Naturally, I wanted to start with the Starter Package to explore and see what the board can do (link to guide). I followed all the steps without any issues. After booting the board from flash memory, I was able to access the CLI via ST-LINK.Now I'm struggling with HDMI, which only shows a black screen. I can see that my monitor detects the board and establishes a proper connection using one of the supported modes (see weston.log at the end). I also went through this guide (How to display on HDMI) to make sure everything is set up correctly and that the HDMI mode matches between the monitor and the board.Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Or maybe I'm missing something? Any advice on how can I debug the issue further is welcome :)Thanks in advance! weston.logDate: 2024-02-27 UTC[19:02:43.
I am using a som STM32MP255 digi connectcore board (CCMP25) for an audio application. I'm using the SAI2 lines for PCM. While playback gives me some signal, capture always results in inout/output error. For my application, the som will be the pcm slave, and there is an external master supplying the bitclock and FS. I am not using any real codecs and opted for dummy codecs for alsa to recognise. Below I'll paste the overlay (I have also attached my overlay) and some details for you guys to verify. I am not sure where I'm going wrong. The SCLK = 4.608MHz and FS = 96kHz are given by the master, the master streams pcm data. What I'm trying to achieve is 16 bit, 3 channel per frame sync. #include <dt-bindings/gpio/gpio.h>#include <dt-bindings/pinctrl/stm32-pinfunc.h>#include <dt-bindings/input/input.h>#include <dt-bindings/leds/common.h>#include <dt-bindings/regulator/st,stm32mp25-regulator.h>#include "dt-bindings/pwm/pwm.h"#include <dt-bindings/clock/s
Hi Team,We are planning to use STM32MP235A for an IP PTZ camera application. Do we have an example code for the same? If yes, kindly share the links to relevant resources.Thanks,Preethi
I making a custom ST32MP151 board with Nordic 4G, Wifi and bluettooth. I did submit a schematic and PCB review to ST via Arrow distrubitor.Only 2 sticking ponits. The DDR3 memeory connections I coppied from ST APP NOTE AN5031 page 38, ST now says this is wrong and should be reversed?see attached The other sticking point is USB connection.There is 3 connections on ST32MP151 on ST APP NOTE AN5031 page 67. Hello, I was wanting to make my own camera board and I wanted to use the same camera that is on STM's Camera board MB1854 and I looked up that manufacturer part number (AS-BC538A3M6-63(1.02.A3265)) and nothing showed up, and when I looked up just AS-BC538A3M6-63 then the only result was STM's example schematic for the MB1854 camera board. I then tried looking up the company they listed on the BOM (HONGJIA) and still found nothing. Does anyone know how to find the board or even some contact info for that company? ThanksCarson

Hi,I was wondering if ST or any ST Partners are planning to produce a System-on-Module (SoM), System-in-Package (SiP) or Single Board Computer (SBC) based on the new STM32MP257 chips?We're planning to develop using the STM32MP257F-DK evaluation board then find a SoM, SiP or SBC that supports the STM32MP257's MIPI CSI-2 interface and ability to quickly wake from a low power sleep mode.Will
Hello ST Team and Community,I'm working with the STM32MP257F-DK board and exploring the provided AI demo examples. I noticed that most of the camera-related demos (especially those involving image inference or real-time processing) are designed around libcamera as the default source, as indicated in code snippets like:parser.add_argument("--camera_src", default="LIBCAMERA", help="use V4L2SRC for MP1x and LIBCAMERA for MP2x")While I understand that libcamera is appropriate for MIPI-CSI cameras (which MP2x supports), I'm currently using a USB UVC camera, which libcamera does not support.From what I know, USB webcams work well with V4L2 but are ignored by libcamera due to its pipeline design.My questions:Are there any official plans or guidance for supporting USB cameras on STM32MP2x using V4L2, especially in AI demos?Why is V4L2 support not more visible or included as an option in the MP2x examples, considering the popularity of USB webcams for quick prototyping?Would ST consider p
Is it mandatory to use a MIPI display in order to boot the system successfully? Is it not possible to boot using only an HDMI display?
Hi everyone,I have the STM32MP257F-DK development kit and I'm interested in flashing or building Android OS for it. So far, I've found some resources and guides for the STM32MP257F-EV1, but nothing specifically for the DK variant.From what I understand:The EV1 board is more feature-rich and used as a reference platform.The DK (Discovery Kit) is more compact and may have differences in peripherals or memory layout.My Questions:Is Android (AOSP) officially supported on the STM32MP257F-DK?If not officially supported yet, is there a known working method to port or build Android for it manually?Can I reuse the EV1 build instructions or BSP with some modifications for the DK?Any guidance, links, or shared experience from others who tried Android on the -DK board would be greatly appreciated. I'm comfortable with building U-Boot, TF-A, Linux kernel, and AOSP — just need to know if this effort is currently feasible or if I’m hitting an early-adopter wall.Thanks in advance!
Dear Team, I recently brought STM32MP257-DK. I am able to explore the A35 part. Also I am able to run the example projects provided by ST for M33 core. Since My application will have more dependencies on the Realtime and hence I wanted to create a separate project for M33 core from scratch. The example projects provided doesn't contains any .ioc file and hence I am not able to configure the project properly. can you please help me to create one. I have just attached my .ioc file in the following attachment. Thank you. Regards,Iqbal
... in order to make a "Hello World" and be able to use it for more applications? Based on the steps of the ST wiki on the stm32mp257f-dk through a VirtualBox to be able to use Linux and configure the A35, we realized that when performing the last steps of the wiki on the M33 we get connection errors with the board. That is why we have not been able to use the M33 independently. Because of this, we want to know how to make the connection between both microprocessors and thus have the possibility of configuring the M33 and being able to give it more uses.

I have been experiencing mixed results when booting up and programming a custom board using STM32MP131DAG7. Some of the custom boards boot up and program without issues. Other boards do not boot up or program. All the custom boards were built at the same time as part of the same batch. I would like some troubleshooting assistance Details of my custom board:STPMIC1DPQR to power the STM32MP131Switches on BOOT[0-2] to select the boot mode.Onboard eMMC and SD card slot.USB port for DFU via STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe to program the eMMC. These boards also boot up via SD card perfectly fine when I set the BOOT switches to select SD card boot. Everything on the custom board functions as normal after successful program. In the same batch of my custom boards, I have seen ones that do not boot up. For these boards I have tried both USB boot and SD card boot. The t
Hi I have a board based on a STM32MP135F. I can see that CLK signal of my sdcard (SDMMC1) very look like a 50 MHz sinusoidal instead of a clock. I have tested with and without my 22 Ohm resistor on this line and I am now looking into the device-tree/pinmux.I can alter slew-rate in my DTS, but sadly I fail to find datasheet about this to know which value would suit best.Commercial presentations tells about 4 speed values from slow to very-fast, reference manual tells about GPIOx_OSPEEDER, but I can't find more. Were can I find pad setting documentation?Otherwise, which are the characteristics of slew-rate values? Best regards.
I created a layer using bitbake-layers create-layer --priority 7 ../layers/meta-st/meta-my-custo-layer and created mkdir recipes-graphics/wayland/weston-init/ and created folder called files and append file weston-init_%.bbappend and in files i added my weston.ini where i disabled the panel=none and in bb append i added this code FILESEXTRAPATHS:prepend := "${THISDIR}/files:" SRC_URI:append = " file://weston.ini" do_install:append() { install -d ${D}${sysconfdir}/xdg/weston install -m 0644 ${WORKDIR}/weston.ini ${D}${sysconfdir}/xdg/weston/weston.ini }And added the layer using this bitbake-layers add-layer ../layers/meta-st/meta-my-custo-layer/After that i built the image using bitbake st-image-weston but still it is taking the old weston.ini and the panel is visible Can Someone help me on how to do it?
Hello everyone,i'm working on a custom SOC based on ST32MP135 and LAN8710 ethernet phy chip.When the HAL_ETH_Init() code runs and sends the module reset by setting the ETH_DMAMR_SWR bit, the loop exits with the HAL_ETH_ERROR_TIMEOUT.The current interface is set to SYSCFG_ETH1_RMII value and the clock source is set by the following code:HAL_RCCEx_PeriphCLKConfig(&(RCC_PeriphCLKInitTypeDef){ .PeriphClockSelection = RCC_PERIPHCLK_ETH1, .Eth1ClockSelection = RCC_ETH1CLKSOURCE_PLL4 }); The HAL_ETH_MspInit() function sets the GPIOs and enables the clocks: /* Enable GPIOs clocks */ __HAL_RCC_GPIOA_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOB_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOC_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOG_CLK_ENABLE(); /* Ethernet MSP init: REF_CLK -------------> PA11 TXD0 --------------> PG13 TXD1 --------------> PG14 RXD0 --------------> PC4 RXD1 --------------> PC5 TX_EN --------------> PB11 CRS_DV --------------> PC1 MDC -------------->

Hello, we are currently designing a STM32MP257 based custom board. For reference, we are looking into STM32MP257F-EV1 and STM32MP257-DK evaluation kit schematics. In both schematics, there is an STM32 MCU which connects to the JTAG ports of the STM32MP257. Is this MCU used as an STLINK to provide JTAG to USB2.0 conversion? If so, if we are to implement the same structure on our board, is there a way to access the STLINK firmware and embed it into our own MCU? Furthermore, is there an external STLINK adapter dedicated for STM32MP25 series MPUs to access JTAG over USB?My second question is that can we program the MPU using the JTAG pins? Both in reference manual and datasheet of the MPU, there doesn't seem to be a boot mode setting for JTAG.
