Is it possible to generate mingw32 sdk in Yocto
Hi all,I'm runnig the example 'OpenAMP_TTY_echo_wakeup' on a STM32MP157C-DK2. My question is regarding the Option 5) in the readme. Here we put the system into standby and wake the CA7 up then. Afterwards there is no FW running no the CM4.My Question: Is it also possible to exit the standby mode from the CM4 while the CA7 is still in standby? I mean in a way that the CM4 FW is still there and running?ThanksKlaas
I was hoping to find any examples/pre-built applications which can be run off the SD card to simply turn on an LED or so, for the STM32MP157A dev kit. Can anyone point me to any resources like this?
Hello Guys.In the current state, when connecting the LAN cable and attempting to connect to the board's IP by SSH, it has been confirmed that the connection is immediately established. It is thought that anyone can access the board in this state. So I need to change root passwordHowever, there are no guidelines for how to do this on the WiKi Page. How can I change root password of STM32MP1?

I understand that when I create my own machine, I can create device tree by following 2 method. Method 1) Building device trees by Developer Package (separately from bitbake) This method is described in following Wiki page. https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_compile_the_device_tree_with_the_Developer_Package Method 2) Building device trees by Distribution Package (included in bitbake) This method is described in following Wiki page. https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_create_your_own_machineIn both of above two methods, I could create the device tree (.dtb file) successfully. Now, I want to modify the "arch/arm/boot/dts/stm32mp157c.dtsi"In Method1, I could create updated device tree (.dtb file) by modifying "arch/arm/boot/dts/stm32mp157c.dtsi".However, In Method2, I could not create updated device tree (.dtb file) even though I modified "arch/arm/boot/dts/stm32mp157c.dtsi".(The build was successful, but the changes were not reflected.)Why does th
Hello Guys.I am using STM32MP157C-DK2 and st-image-core.Looking at the st-image-weston and wiki Page, I am configuring the hotspot mode to be available in my image.First, while looking at the wiki page and st-image-weston, I composed a script that uses the following command.(/usr/sbin/hostapd /etc/hostapd.conf -P /run/hostapd.pid -B)I created systemd because there is no response from the installed hostapd systemd.Next, I made systemd execute my script. However, the hotspot mode did not work.If I run the script directly from the terminal or crontab, hotspot mode operates normally as shown below.---------------------------------------------------------------Configuration file: /etc/hostapd.confwlan0: Could not connect to kernel driverUsing interface wlan0 with hwaddr 10:98:c3:63:a7:e3 and ssid "HSGT_SsgRk4hU"random: Only 19/20 bytes of strong random data availablerandom: Not enough entropy pool available for secure operationsWPA: Not enough entropy in random pool for secure operations
Hi.Can I use all peripheral in MP1 by only M4 code? I couldn't find MP1 HAL Library for USB, Ethernet, SD Memory and etc. For example, How can I use it if I want to use USB data write&read by M4 code?Thank you.Best regards.
Hi,iam trying to get an understanding of the OpenAMP Framework and i wanna use it for interprocess communication with the STM32MP1. As my understanding, the OpenAMP Framework could be used from Baremetal/RTOS side and apparently also from Linux Side. But when i had a look to the stm-wiki site i only found an Implementation of the OpenAMP to the Cortex M4 not to the A-Cores. So my question is, if there is any example to use OpenAMP also on the A-Cores, with the STM32MP1. Another Question is, if its possible to run the Linux in Slave Mode and the M4 In Mastermode? In my understanding its not possible with the STM32MP1 or?
Hello,we have a custom board based on STM32MP151C. On our SPI is the Ethernet Switch KSZ8794. How should I proceed to enable the ethernet in the U-Boot? I have already configured the etherne0 node (according to the ST documentation). Should I add the node to the spi node?
We are using the latest STM32CubeIDE (1.4.0) and are trying to develop applications for linux user space on our STM32MP157 board. Our goal is to use the cross compiler toolchain for developing and debugging with the IDE.When we create a new project, it seems the IDE doesn't create any ready to compile main.cpp files for the A7 processor like for the M4. See this screenshot: For the M4, the project compiles with the template main.c just fine. But for the A7, nothing is there. So my question is, is there any documentation on how to develop linux user space application with the STM32CubeIDE for the A7?Thank you.Best regards,Kevin
I am interested in the platform to evaluate wifi chips from different vendors. But based on the quick run through schematic, I don't think its possible to connect any different wifi chip (which has sdio as supported interface) in the DK2 kit. If anyone has performed similar exercise or have a different solution in mind, please feel free to educate me.
I want to know the role of the m4_***(for example m4_adc, m4_timers1) node in Cortex-A7 Device tree. When I generate device tree from CubeMX, the m4_*** node are described even if that peripherals are used only on Cortex-M4 FW.Do I need to set status = "okay" in Cortex-A7 device tree even if that peripherals are used only on Cortex-M4 FW?for example, When I use timer6 only on Cortex-M4 FW, Do I need to describe that status = "okay" in m4_timers6 node in device tree?Best regards,H. Masuda
We have confirmed the operation on our original board that "STM32MP151CAA3" mounted on.When I start our Cortex-A7 (Linux) FW and try to load our Cortex-M4 (RTOS: uC3) FW , an error message is output on the console of Linux. The steps when an error occurs is described below. Is there any possible cause for the error?--Steps--1) Write our Cortex-A7 (Linux) FW to a SD card and start it with our original board.2) Build our Cortex-M4 (RTOS: uC3) FW. ⇒ Build is successful.3) Transfer our Cortex-M4 (RTOS: uC3) FW to our original board by scp.4) Start our Cortex-M4 (RTOS: uC3) FW by Cortex-A7 (Linux) FW.⇒ Linux console shows the error message.Best Regards,H. Masuda

Hi,Im working with STM32MP157A-DK1 board. Im working on the linux side, need to write C/C++ code for saving data into a SD card. I need to use SPI to get data from RF transceiver. I built linux and kernel as in this link:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/Getting_started/STM32MP1_boards/STM32MP157x-DK2/Develop_on_Arm%C2%AE_Cortex%C2%AE-A7/Modify,_rebuild_and_reload_the_Linux%C2%AE_kernelThen i looked for articles on SPI, these ones especially :https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/SPI_overview#Kernel_configurationhttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_use_SPI_from_Linux_userland_with_spidev#pnl-glhvfb87rihttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/SPI_device_tree_configuration#How_to_configure_the_DT_using_STM32CubeMXhttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_build_Linux_kernel_user_space_toolshttps://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_cross-compile_with_the_Developer_PackageAnd to be fair these are really good materials but i cant manage to be able to run spidev_test example.i did rebuilt kernel , mod
Hi.I was going to buy STM32MP157C-DK2 but its status NRND(Not Recommended for New Design). So I think to buy STM32MP157F-DK2. Are they different point is only a clock(650 or 800) of A7 core? What's the difference?Thank you.Best regards.
I want to know what "st-image-xxxxx" parameter mean.Especially, I want to know what name of xxxxx (for example "weston") means. Is the name of xxxxx related to the name of some config file? For example, if I changed the name of xxxxx to any name from weston, Are output files by bitabake influenced?Best Regards,H. Masuda.
We would like to share data between the A7-core and the M4-core on an STM32MP1 device. Those cores both have access to the SRAM1,2,3,4 . The M4-core is connected directly via the AHB interconnect, the A7-core is connected via the AXI-based NIC-400 interconnect which has access to the AHB. Since both interconnects have a bit-width of 32 bits or more, I am wondering if writing or reading to/from a 32 bit address will always be atomic, at least for aligned accesses. So for example, if the A7 is constantly writing a uint32 into a commonly known memory address in SRAM1 and the M4 is constantly reading this address, is it guaranteed that the M4 will never read a partially updated value? Thanks in advance
Hello I am getting the following error after trying to build the imageThe rootfs size 5956484(K) exceeds IMAGE_ROOTFS_MAXSIZE: 763904(K)and I don't find anything related to this problem apart from this line that should be implemented in the local.conf file:MENDER_STORAGE_TOTAL_SIZE_MB=.... Will this solve my problem? If not how do I solve this problem please I am a beginner with yocto.I want to use the maximum space that I can so that this error won't come again. I will add a lot of packages and modules after so please tell me if there is a default size to apply. Thank you
Hi, I have 10 DK2's in a server rack for development and testing. STM32CubeIDE (1.5.0) debugging wants me to specify a serial port and an IP address for debugging. This is IMHO redundant, why? Moreover, the serial ports /dev/ttyACM* are to be selected from a drop-down list. But, those assignments are not persistent. After a reboot of the server or a reconnect of the boards, the ttyACM* changed. I would prefer using the persistent names available at /dev/serial/by-id/usb-STMicroelectronics_STM32_STLink*, but cannot select those in the Debuggger tab. Finally, the IDE asks me for my credentials several times per debug session. Is there a log which I can inspect to see what's going on behind the windows?RegardsKnarfB
Hi.It's ready to use MP1 peripheral(USB, Ethernet, SD card) right away if I download to OpenSTLinux image to MP1-DK board after downloaded on ST website? or Do I need to make device driver for peripheral? Are there guiding, or tutorial for making application about using USB, Ethernet or SD card on OpenSTLinux?Thank you.Best regards.
