New to STM32WB.I have 2 units of STM32WB5mm-dk boards. On these boards want to run BLE mesh code. But when i checked in STM32WBCubeMX no BLE mesh example code for STM32WB5mm-dk.Can some one help me in getting example code so that i can start development.Generic onoff code would fine to start ?
hi, I have developed applications using STM32WL base on NUCLEO-WL55JC1. But I found when enter CAD there is a long time block on SUBGHZ_WaitOnBusy(). About 1.2ms.it’s so long than I thought I found a issue in GitHub:https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeWL/issues/70 When SUBGRF_SetTx() or SUBGRF_SetRx() is called, it blocks for a long time (~1.2 ms) until the BUSY line goes low. The blocking delay is in HAL_SUBGHZ_ExecSetCmd() where SUBGHZ_WaitOnBusy() is called after the SET_TX (0x83) or SET_RX (0x82). what can I do for avoiding this issue? Thanks
Hi,I am currently working on a BLE module using the ST STM32WBA55UGI6 MCU. While I am able to read the MCU through STM32CubeProgrammer, I am encountering issues when trying to perform BLE RF tests using STM32CubeMonitor-RF.Could you please advise which firmware files need to be programmed to enable BLE RF testing? I have downloaded various projects from GitHub, but none of them have resolved the issue.Thank you for your assistance.
Looking through the WB0x portfolio, it looks like the WB06 and WB07 VFQFPN are completely unattractive and even the WLCSP not a good bargain.STM32WB06KC is supposed to be 1.87 Dollars, whereas STM32WB09KE stands at 1.013 Dollars. Also the later would actually make a *** of the stm32U083KC as long as you don't need USB, since it is supposed to use less power, has double the Flash, more RAM (and BLE of course) and costs 25% less.Actual listings at DigiKey and Mouser back up the budgetary claims. So what's up with those prices?EDIT: Really, you censor the word F o o l ?
How to set GPIO output speed register (slow, medium, fast, very fast) in accordance to SPI and the slower I2C, clock speeds respectively? The data sheet specify in rise/fall time. Is it correct that the register actually set drive current?SPI clock at 6MHz is 83ns high and 83ns low. Should we aim to make rise/fall time a "certain percentage" of 83ns? If so, how much?Part is STM32WLE5JCI6TR,SPI bus has two external devices. Pin capacitance is about 5pF per device, presumably the MCU alos count as one, plus 5pF for PCB. That will be 20pF. When putting a scope X10 passive probe will add 15pF. Total 35pF. Still under the 50pF on data sheet. SPI clock about 6MHz.I2C has one external device. Clock is 100 to 400kHz.Many thanks

Hi,I'm a beginner and I'm trying to build a simple example which sends some data from one STM32WEL5 to anotherone using the SUBGHZ peripheral. It is supposed to work like the STM32CubeWL/Projects/NUCLEO-WL55JC/Examples/SUBGHZ/SUBGHZ_Tx_Mode example. Sadly I have not been able to get it to work yet. I used RM0461 to code the configuration of the receiver and transmitter but have not been able so receive a message. The code is on GitHub:Transmitter: https://github.com/MattR-1/STM32WLE5_Tx_ExampleReceiver: https://github.com/MattR-1/STM32WLE5_Rx_ExampleAll of my code is in the respectiv main.c files. I tried to make it readable and explain the code in the REEDME files.I'm using Wio-E5 dev boards from Seeed Studios, but I don't see a reason why the RF-stuff wouldn't work on NUCLEO boards aswell. I don't have an SDR to confirm that the transmitter is doing something.Could someone help me by reading over my configuraion and tell me, where i went wrong in the setup? If there is another example
Hello!I'm trying to update from v1.11.0 to the latest stack in our firmware for stm32wb5x_BLE_HCILayer_fw.bin to address the errata around the utilizing the PLL, but CPU2 is hard faulting as soon as we invoke SHCI_C2_BLE_Init(...).I can run and load v1.11.0 through v1.15.0 of the stack without touching our code.Versions v1.16.0 through v1.19.0 report a "security attack" by setting the top of TL_RefTable to 0x3DE96F61.v1.20.0 of stm32wb5x_BLE_HCILayer_fw.bin has a hard fault:0x20030000 <TL_RefTable>: 0x1170fd0f 0x00003284 0x00002a33v1.20.0 of stm32wb5x_BLE_HCI_AdvScan_fw.bin has a hard fault:0x20030000 <TL_RefTable>: 0x1170fd0f 0x00003160 0x00001f6fv1.20.0 of stm32wb5x_BLE_HCILayer_extended_fw.bin has a hard fault:0x20030000 <TL_RefTable>: 0x117
Hello,I am trying to get zigbee traces running on STM32WB5MMG running on Sparkfuns development boards. For my current project I am using this hardware:SprakFun MicroMod Main Board - Single - https://www.sparkfun.com/products/20748SparkFun MicroMod STM32WB5MMG Processor - https://www.sparkfun.com/products/21438Standalone UART Connection works fine, only the traces dont work in combination with the Zigbee Stack enabled. To illustrate the problem I created two fresh projects:STM32WB5MMG_UART_TEST:This one is a project for testing the UART on the custom hardware (serial connector located next to the "function zero" connector), I enabled interrupts and dma for rx/tx which works perfectly fine putting out a simple counter.STM32WB5MMG_ZIGBEE_WITH_TRACES_TEST:This one is a fresh project for testing the Zigbee Stack together with traces (based on the same configuration as STM32WB5MMG_UART_TEST). I expect the Zigbee Traces to be received on the serial interface just like the counter in the other
I need to express my frustration with this feature. For some reason, I accidentally activated the anti-rollback feature. Now, when I try to update the new firmware, I am unable to write a new one. As a result, it's completely bricked for any future wireless applications.
I have a program that updates a ble characteristic where it gets displayed on the stm32 toolbox app as however many bytes I set it to in Stm32CubeMX. This which makes sense in terms of default configurations, but if I wanted to display a float value instead how would I go about that? For reference im using Custom_STM_App_Update_Char() to updating the value where If I pass in a float it gets converted to bytes automatically.
Hi all,i am new to the STM MCU and i am working on project about LoRaWANi have a ST32F401 MCUall the sources and examples i found about LoRaWAN supports different modells.so i wanted to ask if theres any sources or examples that support the modell i am using.or if u have any tips i will be very happy to hear
Hi,we are using the STM32WB microcontroller along with sleep modes – specifically, SLEEP and STOP2. When we try to enter STOP2 (or Sleep) mode, it seems like the MCU automatically checks whether it can enter this mode or not (like an automatic check to see if there is any active task that wouldn't allow low power mode). For example, if we enter Sleep mode while a TIMER is running in the background, the MCU immediately exits Sleep mode (even though no interrupt should be generated at that moment). Or are we doing something wrong, and some IRQ is waking up the MCU?Is there some kind of "protection" like this on this MCU?@STTwo-32
Hi together,I have the STM32WB55CG and plan to integrate it into a smart home Zigbee network, that uses the Tuya Gateway and is controlled by Smartlife app.I have found several examples on how they communicate with each other (network of STMs), however I cannot manage to integrate it with the existing products.Do you have an example (preferrably complete CubeIDE project), to just get the integration running? The later plan is to control LEDs, however first of all I want to get the connection running and maybe an exemplary send or receive message. Thanks
Hello,I am configuring Nucleo-L073RZ with I-NUCLEO-LRWAN-1 expansion board in STM-Cube-IDE as the End-Node with the AT-Master Example in the en-cube-lrwan library provided by ST. (en.i-cube_lrwan->STM32CubeExpansion_LRWAN_V2.1.0->Projects->NUCLEO-L073RZ->Applications->LoRaWAN->LoRaWAN_AT_Master->STM32CubeIDE->I_NUCLEO_LRWAN1)ProblemWhen I Debug the code into the board it is halted at the HAL_INIT() function.Solutions I tried1. There are no breakpoints on it and just below it there a function call for clock configuration and I have also checked it.2. Performed full chip erase after performing booting.3. Checked on debugger configuration as well. (Reset Behaviour-> Connect under Reset)I am attaching the log file also.
I was a bit confused by Table 4 in chapter 7.1.3 page 13. It is UM2823 - Rev 1.The description for [1-2] claims to be the default setting and describes what sounds to me like [7-8] called "USB STL" and the description for [7-8] sounds like external power so [1-2]? Have the information been mixed up?And the table name says JP2 since I am at it :)
I'm using a STM32WLE5cc inside a RAK3172 (TCXO) module on a custom board. I have custom firmware developed in the STMCube IDE. So, my join request is seen on the gateway, and the gateway sees a join accept from the server. Unfortunately the joined event is not seen on the STM. I'm using the endpoint template as a framework. What is the best procedure to track down where the fault lies?
We are encountering an issue with the STM32WB55CGU when using it in combination with OpenThread, particularly related to the low power mode. Below are the details of the issue:Software Versions:STM32CubeIDE version: 1.16.0STM32WB55 firmware version: 1.20OpenThread version: Configurations are attached in the .ioc file.Problem Description: We have configured the STM32WB55 to enable low-power mode, but we are experiencing the following issues:The first time after enabling low-power settings, the software runs, but the MCU does not enter low-power mode as expected. After cycling the power (removing and reapplying it), the MCU crashes almost immediately upon startup.Configuration: The low power mode was configured using the standard function available in the STM32CubeMX .ioc file. No external peripherals are involved in this setup.Observations:When low power mode is disabled, the OpenThread stack runs as expected. We observe that the access point receives a poll every 5 seconds. The issue doe
Hello @STTwo-32 @Remi QUINTIN , I have a question regarding the BLE pairing process. After following the tutorial from ST on BLE security regarding pairing and bonding, the passkey authentication is happening only when the user requests to read a characteristic value. But in our case, we would like to have the pairing with passkey whenever the user wants to connect to the device. I have seen the example of the BLE _HID in the STM32CubeWB SDK, but i could not find the any relevant APIs that are calling the pairing request function during the connection. There is also no .ioc file for this project. Could you please provide information regarding this example? From the pm0271 document, we can initiate a pairing procedure using the "aci_gap_peripheral_security_req()" on the peripheral device. What is the correct procedure to call this function for the pairing to happen with passkey when the user tries to connect to the device? is this the correct function to call?Because from
Hi, Investigating the MB1789-HP reference design which excludes the RF switch. Does this board still TX/RX or is it transmit only?Is there any documentation or software examples outlining how to implement LoRa communication without the RF switch?Kind regards,Connor
I read the other forum on this back from 2021, but changing the files didn't do anything. Is there a fix in 2024 now? if (OptionsBytesStruct.IPCCdataBufAddr != (uint32_t) pMb_RefTable) { /* * WARNING: If there is a difference between the MAPPING_TABLE placement in memory * and the address calculated according to the IPCCDBA option byte, * to avoid writing the IPCCDBA OB by mistake, the execution enters now in a while(1){} * Read below, uncomment RCC_OscInitStruct local variable and replace #if 1 by #if 0 if you are sure */ /* USER CODE BEGIN MBMUXIF_SystemInit_Prevent_OB_Programming */ #if 1 /* USER CODE END MBMUXIF_SystemInit_Prevent_OB_Programming */ Error_Handler(); #else
Hi All,We have designed a board using the STM32WL55CCU6 [UQFPN 48 pin] chip and successfully brought it up. We have tested the USART, and it is working correctly. However, when we try to port and run the example of SubGHz Ping Pong Dual Core, it does not work as expected. The program gets halted after calling the function "MX_SubGHz_Phy_Init();". We followed the procedures outlined in the readme file which I had added along with the query. The modifications for the files are done as mentioned in the readme but the switching between the cores is not happening. I am adding a file where the program is halted. Can anyone provide the correct procedure for this?
Hi everyone,I would like to know if it is possible to perform FW Update OTA while having flashed the BLE LLD firmware on the Radio Co-Processor? I am currently using STM32WB55 nucleo boards.Thank you in advance.
Dear all,I have a board developed using a reference design from STDES-WL5U4DHB: MB1789-HP "Direct Tie connection between RX and TX - High power mode".I'm trying to figure out what needs to be changed in the drivers to enable EndNode example to work. Since this design uses same transmission line for both Tx and Rx and has no RF switches I thought commenting out RF switch configuration in BSP_RADIO_Init() and whole implementation of BSP_RADIO_ConfigRFSwitch() should be sufficient but I'm still not getting any packets to show up at my LNS.To be precise, I'm seeing the following:in OnTxData() params->Status equals LORAMAC_EVENT_INFO_STATUS_TX_TIMEOUT and params->isMcpsConfirm equals 0in OnJoinRequest() joinParams->Status equals LORAMAC_HANDLER_ERRORGateway is 2 feet away and E2E communication with other LoRa devices work fine.I have attached board schematic (IO and antenna part) and a scope capture from the HP pin. You can see that there's something going on for 1.4
Hello everyone,I'm currently working on a project that involves the STM32WL5MOC microcontroller, and I need to implement a firmware update mechanism for it. I have some experience with microcontrollers, but this is my first time handling a firmware update process.Could anyone provide guidance or share resources on how to implement a firmware update for the STM32WL5MOC? Specifically, I am looking for advice on the following:Bootloader Design: How should I design a bootloader that can manage the firmware update process? Any example code or tutorials would be very helpful.Update Methods: What are the common methods for performing firmware updates on this microcontroller? Should I consider using OTA (Over-The-Air) updates, or is a wired connection (e.g., USB or UART) more reliable?Memory Management: How should I handle memory allocation for the new firmware image while ensuring that the current firmware remains functional during the update process?Error Handling: What are the best practice
