Just got two of the WL55JC1 boards today, and while working just fine transmitting data, the usb connectors are really bad. Can barely touch the usb without it disconnecting and resetting the board..I will try and resolder the connector and see if this helps.
Im trying to use the STM32 Nucleo Pack LoRa HF band sensor and gateway, and im trying to program the I-NUCLEO-LRWAN with the firmware, but im getting no responde from the shield. I did a little bit of research and found out about the firmware update that you can do, but every time i try to run the program, with the conections provided by the guide, the program doesn't open. Do you need to run de SWD connection + UART or only one of the two? Plus, since i tried to run the sm42_backup program, the shield doesn't even light up anymore when i plug it in.
I would like to completely stop M0 + and RF in order to minimize power consumption when SLEEPing STM32WB. Is such a thing possible? I tried various things with reference to the sample code and documentation, but M0 + / RF did not seem to be stopped.
Hi, I am trying to set a 64 MHz max frecuency for my RF application (STM32WB55). To do so, I switch from default MSI to HSE with PLL. The System Core Clock updates well to 64 MHz.However, when I start the MAC layer and RF subsystem on CPU2 by calling SHCI_C2_MAC_802_15_4_Init(), the SystemCoreClock goes down to 32 MHz.Is there any way to avoid that decrease in frecuency?Thank you.
I have a custom board with STM32 microcontroller and SX1261 Radio Module. I am familiar with I-CUBE-LRWAN from ST Micro. I used the I-CUBE-LRWAN Package in a Nucleo Board and it is working fine. I understand that I need to create a new BSP if using custom board. How can I create my own BSP for the custom board including I-CUBE-LRWAN? What files should be added? Thanks
I use CubeIDE 1.5.1. I download stm32wb55 pack and copy of example BLE_HeartRateFreeRTOS at my folder D:\Anatoly_RX\WB55_razgrabit\Applications\BLE\BLE_HeartRateFreeRTOS\STM32CubeIDEI can open project. When I try to rename it I get error null argument
I am building a wireless application (BLE) with STM32WB55CG. For that, I am planning to use HSI and LSE (LSE as RF wake up clock and HSI as CPU1 and CPU2 clock). For that, I disabled HSE in the RCC part of CubeMX. After I did that, RF becomes inactive and unselectable. How can I solve this issue to make wireless application without using HSE? (I am using STM32Cube_FW version 1.8.0)
I have created a board based on STM32WB55CG which is same microcontroller as that is used in P-NUCLEO-WB55.USBDongle. The problem is, in STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.10.0 project folder for P-NUCLEO-WB55.USBDongle board, there is no BLE_MeshLightingProvisioner example included.I have tried to read AN5292 document, but there is nowhere this is mentioned on how to port project from one microcontroller to another. Also, i have noticed that, the Upper Tester protocols as explained in AN5292 using the provided project BLE_MeshLightingPRFNode are not working either but everything else works; something to do with command not being sent to microcontroller using the VCOM port. Can anyone help on this?
The first problem HAL_Delay() is stuck. The count value is always 0 and cannot enter the timer interruptThe second problem cannot enter the external interrupt.Does anyone know what's going on?
I am developing on NUCLEO WB55, I call aci_gap_start_general_discovery_proc() to discover near devices, if I pass PUBLIC_ADDR as third argument all goes well but it does not find my devices, becose they have random addresses. If I pass STATIC_RANDOM_ADDR (or RANDOM_ADDR) as third parameter it fails and returns 0x42 error code = BLE_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMS.Why?What I have to do?Thanks in advanceAlessandro
Hi.I'm looking for best way to remotly control Nucleo based procjet around 500m-1km range or above if possible. I've been looking for radio solution but all accesable options are really short range like LoRa modules which can provide good connectivity on 300m max. nRF24 modules are interestin and some websites claming connectivity range 1km but i've been using those and they are good at 100m tops. There are some expensive solution from Texas Instruments but i'm looking something affortable. I know that i can simply use GSM module and have 4G and GPS i single module. Is there a affortable long range, high power radio solution? I'm looking for something below 100$ price point. It needs to be able to transmit video from Nucelo cabable camera.
Have built the (single core) LoRaWAN AT Slave example from STM32Cube_FW_WL_V1.0.0, which has been flashed to a new Nucleo STM32WL55 board (straight out of the package). No apparent problems building and flashing. Configured for AS923 region.Running an OTAA Join command the terminal returns:AT+JOIN=135s069:TX on freq 923400000 Hz at DR 2OK35s461:MAC txDone40s447:RX_1 on freq 923400000 Hz at DR 240s523:MAC rxTimeOut41s447:RX_2 on freq 923200000 Hz at DR 241s523:MAC rxTimeOut+EVT:JOIN FAILEDLooks ok but problem is that the radio isn't transmitting at all, as checked with a spectrum analyser (which sees output from other LoRaWAN boards running that frequency band).Could be a simple configuration problem, but everything looks ok.Suggestions would be welcome?
The latest I-CUBE-LRWAN version 1.3.1 hasn't been updated for nearly a year now, whereas previously there were several upgrades per year. As we are using this product in commercial IoT units it is pretty critical to understand whether STM intends to continue upgrading it to keep up with the LoRaWAN specification as it moves forward, particularly as implemented by the latest Semtech stack? Comments from STM would be appreciated.Thanks.
Hello ST Community,I recently made PCB using STM32WB55CGU6 MCU. I used STM32WB-Dongle as reference and designed 4-layer PCB. After board bring up and soldering I found that every peripherals of my board are working except Bluetooth.I am using P2P-server application code and I see nothing on ST-ble mobile app.Can anyone suggest how can I make Bluetooth working? Thanks and Regards,Nikunj Panchani
After going through AN5457 I want to confirm whether I have correctly followed the design guidelines presented.I am aiming at 920MHz and have used the 923MHz 22 dBm value for Z0 (10.58-j10.71).This is my first time dealing with RF but I understand that the aim is to reach the center of the smith chart and hence 50/0 Re/Im. On page 26 it gets a bit confusing as the notch filter chart clearly moves away from the 50 Ohm center point. This is the last chart in the document which shows the full network so I'm not sure if the remaining components are supposed to return to the center or not.I have assumed that the end result should return to the center and therefore be as close to 50/0 as possible upon entering the RF switch. Is this the correct outcome or are the filtering stages not expected to return to the 50 Ohm value? My smith chart and matching circuit are attached. All values on the components for Q are extracted from the murata SimSurfing tool.I also have a few other questions:Why doe
Hello,We came across a strange problem with LPUART on STM32WB55 chip. When using FIFO in interrupt mode (receiving data), if you use FIFO depth more than 1 byte (even 2 or 8) you will occasionally (one out of ~1000 reads) get complete junk bytes (not always first byte of transition); If everything is the same, and you use 1byte FIFO (HAL_UARTEx_SetRxFifoThreshold(UART_RXFIFO_THRESHOLD_1_8))- it always works fine.Obviously the other (sender) side never changes, it is always sending in junks of 4-8 bytes.Note that we use flow control.Apparently this is coming directly from RDR register in UART_RxISR_8BIT_FIFOEN.Below is the init code. LPUART running on 32Mhz system clock - it never changes.P.S. This issue is not mentioned in errata P.P.S. We would sniff the data to make sure its not line issue, but it is a IPC lines berried deep inside the PCB.Anyone came across something like this before? Thanks in advancehlpuart1.Instance = LPUART1; hlpuart1.Init.BaudRate = 1000000; hlpuart1.Init.WordLen
Hello. I have ordered stm32wb development board and recently started to learn about the Bluetooth. I am planning to control an electric lock through bluetooth mobile app.I have seen the stm32wb workshop, especially part 4 where they are creating a custom template:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPqHUqiWsvs&t=1639s&ab_channel=STMicroelectronicsI would like some general advice regarding making my first Bluetooth program. Can someone advice me regarding what service and charasteristic I should be using? Should I use a random UUID or should i pick one that is predefined? If I use custom UUID, on the phone BLE application it is going to show up as unkown service right? If I want to make that service known, I would have to create my custom Bluetooth application and use the same UUID?
I am not able write anything once i write FF value into flash.Does writing FF into erased area blocks the region from writing again till that page is erased?

MCU: STM32WB55BLE: BLE Stack Full V1.8.0Hello,I am using STM's BLE OTA example project (bootloader) and have it working with my custom firmware. I have noticed an issue that happens when updating my custom firmware via ota. Every so often I am unable to connect to the BLE_OTA firmware to download a new application. I was able to debug the BLE_OTA and find that the firmware acts up when an error event (HCI Event) is received. I have noticed power cycling the MCU fixes the issue and the BLE OTA is able to function correctly. If I perform a software reset via NVIC_SystemReset() the BLE_OTA will run and Advertise BLE Data for maybe 10 seconds until receiving the error event again. I would like to fix this issue without power cycling the MCU. Error Description found in Doc AN5270 Section 3.1 and 3.1.4HCI_HARDWARE_ERROR_EVENT with error code 0x02 (event_time_overrun err) I was wondering if anyone knows of any potential fixes, where I can find more information on the cause of the error event
Greetings,STM32WLE5 reference manual says an external TCXO should have a sinusoidal output. Clipped sine oscillators seem to be more available, do you think they would work too? Thanks!
I have my custom STM32WB55CE board. I had programmed the example code "EEPROM_Emul" from"X-CUBE-EEPROM_V2.0.0" package on it. It was working fine. Then I did FUS upgrade with BLE full stack binary programming on it. After that, the same EEPROM emulation example code gets stuck at EE_Init() function. It goes into Hardfault handler. I did a FLASH erase and reprogrammed the example code. On my STM32WB55 Neucleo board, it works fine. Please guide on this.Thank you.
Hello, I ask here a question already asked in another topic and which as not received any answer.**** I would like to know how toimplement Multicast messagingon my end-node (currently using Murata Module (CMWX1ZZABZ-078) with ST LoRalibraries (Expansion I-CUBE-LRWAN).My code is developed from I-CUBE-LRWANv1.2.1 and I don't see keys dedicated for multicast in commissioning.h file.I downloaded the last version v1.3.1 andI see in the same file :"Application root key - Used toderive Multicast keys on 1.0.x devices."Is there also a device address dedicatedfor multicast ?Do this version fully support multicast messages ?Regards, Fabrice.
Hi All:I try to upgrade RF stack by usb/swd interface on p-nucleo-wb55, and the attach file contain the command I use.I found that the stack get errors, after upgrading the stack by swd interface? Then, the usb interface can't access again...swd interface can access, but it get some error? What action I lost causing this find of problem? Thanks,Jack
Hello,Currently our team is working with "STM32WB55 P-NUCLEO-WB55 Platform", we were able to flash the stack. Then we have tried the same ZigBee project and able to self-demonstrate the same successfully, like led on/off and sending messages. As our team is working to develop a small ZigBee application from scratch like ON/OFF control and sending message from device co-ordinator.We are in need of support & details on how to get start and execute it, So please provide us in details about Configuring the ZigBee network, Device ON/Off control and sending message etc.,This will really help us to speed up our development phase.Thank you.
