Using the latest STM32WB V1.13.1 Firmware Package I can't seem to get any of the example BLE applications to run.I have upgraded the co-processor firmware and FUS accordingly. Trying to run this application I imported into STM32CubeIDE and compiled. Set my debugger and run. STM32WB5MM-DK\Applications\BLE\BLE_HeartRateI get the following output on my UART terminalWireless Firmware version 1.13.0 Wireless Firmware build 5 FUS version 1.2.0 SHCI_SUB_EVT_CODE_READY - WIRELESS_FW_RUNNING DBGMCU_GetRevisionID= 2001The OLED display says "ST BLE HEART RATE"But the application appears to be frozen and not advertising. Verified with 2 phones using ST BLE Sensor and nRF Connect apps. No Advertising.So from there i added a printer into the main loop.if (timerTick + 1000 < HAL_GetTick()){//should print 1HZ APP_DBG_MSG("%d LOOP\n", HAL_GetTick()); }But nothing gets printed. Where can i go from here?
I got the package P-NUCLEO-LRWAN2It consists of an endnode and a gateway for sending date from endnote to gateway and further to an application.In the manual (UM2587) "Getting started with the P-NUCLEO-LRWAN2 and P-NUCLEO-LRWAN3 starter packs" on page 10 is that statemaent:My endnode NUCLEO-L073RZ falls into that range, and therefor I have to change the sotfware. In the softwarepackage of i-cube-lrwan are parts related to different MCU and also to different 'cases' (AT_Master and End_Node).I guess I have to select the part STM32-L073RZ, but what case (AT-Master or End-Note).in the documentation i found no hit what is preloaded for the endnode.An other question why can't be used for reprogramming the endnote the STM CUBE IDE?Has anyboddy a answer?Best regardsGeorg
A new version 2.8.0 is released.It mainly provides BLE OTA improvements and fixes some minor issues.See Release note https://www.st.com/resource/en/release_note/rn0104-stm32cubemonrf-release-280-stmicroelectronics.pdf for more details.Enjoy !
So when I look into the FUS installation file the version information is all set to 0xFFs. I can successfully read the version information in the stack BIN file, and it comes out as expected.
I am using the HSE and LSE for the STM32WB. I am under the impression that you must use the 32MHz HSE if using BLE. I am also under the impression that you should be able to set your CPU1 (app processor ) to 64MHz. I have tried all kinds of things in the .ioc file and it always wants to revert to using the MSI source / PLL to set CPU1 to 64MHz and CPU2 to 32MHz. Can someone tell me how to set CPU1 to 64MHz while having CP2 (radio) at 32MHz using HSE?
I'm running FUS 1.2.0 on an STM32WB55CEU and every time I try to update the BLE firmware over USB I get a FUS image write error. It appears to download and verify successfully but always fails during the actual firmware update. I can't seem to find this error anywhere else on the forum (or Google) so am I the only one having this issue? 08:58:38 : ST-LINK error (DEV_CONNECT_ERR) 08:58:45 : USB speed : Full Speed (12MBit/s) 08:58:45 : Manuf. Hi,We are currently using another IC for BLE and would like to build our expertise on stm32wb55.I made a custom profile following the scenario 1 with the help of Cubemx.Will it be possible to use Scenario 2 were M4 core is used just for applications?
I am trying to get my STM32WB5MM-DK to output a PWM from LPTIM1 clocked from LSE in STOP mode.I created a fresh project with STM32SCUBEIDE selecting HSI clock for the main CPU and LSE clock for the LPTIM1.Then in User Code 2 section i put the following: LL_C2_PWR_SetPowerMode(LL_PWR_MODE_SHUTDOWN); //Shutdown CPU2 HAL_LPTIM_PWM_Start(&hlptim1, 999, 499);//DIV2 = ~16.4HZ 50% Duty HAL_Delay(500); //PWM can be seen on scope here HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP0Mode(PWR_STOPENTRY_WFI); //PWM stopsHowever when i get to the stop mode, the pwm signal stops... what am i doing wrong?
I'm attempting to cause an STM32WL (currently on a WL55JC1 devboard) to sleep using the shutdown mode, and am running into a an issue where the MCU immediately exits sleep after it enters it.Here's what I believe to be the sleep related portions of my code - I can post more if needed:int main(void) { HAL_Init(); HAL_PWR_EnableBkUpAccess(); uint32_t tickstart = HAL_GetTick(); HAL_StatusTypeDef ret = HAL_OK; while (!(READ_BIT(PWR->CR1, PWR_CR1_DBP) == (PWR_CR1_DBP))) { if ((HAL_GetTick() - tickstart) > RCC_DBP_TIMEOUT_VALUE) { ret = HAL_TIMEOUT; break; } } __HAL_RCC_BACKUPRESET_FORCE(); //[JT] - Debug __HAL_RCC_BACKUPRESET_RELEASE(); //[JT] - Debug HAL_PWR_DisableBkUpAccess(); SystemClock_Config(); MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_RTC_Init(); MX_SUBGHZ_Init(); MX_USART2_UART_Init();
I have been using the STM32WB55 Nucleo board successfully to run a CoAP server on OpenThread.I have designed a custom board which is very similar to the Nucleo board (same microcontroller).I successfully updated the FUS firmware following the Release Notes documentation (flashed stm32wb5x_FUS_fw.bin at address 0x080EC000, and stm32wb5x_Thread_FTD_fw.bin at address 0x08097000).When I read the FUS infos, I get:FUS Status: FUS_NO_ERRORFUS Version: v1.2.0.0FUS OPerator: v3.1.0Now, when I run the program, it looks like function SHCI_C2_THREAD_Init() never returns, as shown in the picture attached:I connected to the UART to get the trace debug output, shown below:[M4 APPLICATION] **********************************************************[M4 APPLICATION] WIRELESS COPROCESSOR FW:[M4 APPLICATION] VERSION ID = 1.13.0[M4 APPLICATION] FW Type : Thread FTD[M4 APPLICATION] **********************************************************The above output tells me that the co-processor FW is correctly flashe
I am using an STLINK-V3SET programmer / debugger. I connect to my target (STM32WB55) on a Midatronics Sharky Mkr board. I find that if I 'blink' or move funny the debugger after connecting shuts down and displays the following under the console window:Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Target is not responding, retrying...Shutting down...Exit.Can someone help me out here as to what to do?

I have a custom board with an STM32WB55CEU (512K Flash) that is failing to start the BLE stack on CPU2 in the function SHCI_C2_BLE_Init(). I believe it's failing this function because it failed to load the BLE firmware (stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_fw v1.13.0) correctly. Whenever I try to load the firmware I get an error at the end saying FUS_IMAGE_NOT_AUTHENTIC or FUS_STAE_IMG_NOT_AUTHENTIC depending on whether I try it from the command line over USB or through the GUI over SWD. I can delete the firmware image without error and my FUS appears to be up to date and running before I attempt the update.I've also tried deleting the firmware by changing the RDP register from AA to BB and back. I still get the authentication error. This only happens on about half of the boards that I've loaded (13 out of 25). I feel like there is an address of setting somewhere that I'm not setting correctly and since all of the other posts I can find on this issue use the Nucleo with the 1MB flash part I'm not
US sub-bands currently make use of the Hybrid feature selected in the LoRaWAN Cube configuration, and that's a good start, but it would be useful to add a run-time API to select sub-bands, like in the US.Dana
After an export then import (whether in "file system" or "archive file") of a working project, I cannot "build" this project agin after this export/import. While the basic project (before the export and the import i.e. the displacement) works perfectly on the same computer. It looks like there is a link problem.12:39:41 **** Incremental Build of configuration Debug for project LoRaWAN_End_Node ****make -j16 all make: *** No rule to make target 'C:/Utilities/trace/adv_trace/stm32_adv_trace.c', needed by 'Utilities/stm32_adv_trace.o'. I am using the VBAT pin to measure the voltage of my battery, but the readings I am getting through this pin are always off by about 3%. The datasheet (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32wle5cc.pdf#page=120) claims that there could be +-10% error on the ratio, this seems WAY too high to be at all useful so I was wondering if there was anyway to internal calibrate the resistors.
ie, what drove the choice of PA12, specifically ?Using PA12 means that you have to power-up the VDD_USB domain - which, I think, adds some extra current consumption. See:https://community.st.com/s/question/0D53W00001Fncm7SAB/stm32l072-vddusb-supply-current-for-pa11-pa12So why do that?
Hi!Can someone help me to clear one moment in using LoRa.Let's say I have one RF remote control, which is pointed to 4-5 remote devices.How can my remote control distinguish replies from these 5 remote devices?Sorry if this is a dummy question. I'm new in radio.THX.
Hi guys. I am working on developing a product using STM32WB55RGV6TR. I referred to AN5042 and AN2867 to define the external crystal. Based on AN5042 if the used register setting for HSEGMC[2:0] is 0b111, the gm is 2.84mA/V. According to AN2867, the calculated gm gain should be greater than 5 to have a stable operation. Using AN5042 as reference, the crystal NX2016SA-32MHZ-EXS00A-CS06654 was used as reference design. However using the formula in AN2867 to get the gmcrit and gm gain, the calculated gm gain is less than 5 which means the crystal is not ideal for use. May I ask why this crystal was used as reference then if the gm gain >5 cannot not be satisfied? Can you advise me on this topic? Thank you.
Hi.I need to make a border router by combining stm32wb55 and raspberry pi. but i don't have any document associated this solution. in Thread_RCP example, as described below-----@par Application Description This application is used to demonstrate the OpenThread Border router feature using an STM32WB device.To play with the demo, you need a Raspberry Pi 3B (RPi) to perform the link with Ethernet network.The full setup and the associated documentations can be requested to ST on demand.-----can i get any document??
Good afternoon....I am new to STM and BLE. I have a while loop in main where I am checking conditional flags that could have been set in IRQs. All seems to work nicely. I then begin the process of implementing the BLE stack for peripheral. After watching a few videos I configured via CubeMX BLE. I am finding that after I implement this my other code stops working. I found that if I comment out MX_APPE_Process(); in the while loop in main all works again. So it appears to me that this process has it's own 'forever' type loop that never leaves once it goes here. Can someone point me to information that may explain how to add my flags into the sequencer piece of the puzzle as this seems like the path I might have to go??? Unless someone has some suggestions on how to do this? I know very little with BLE code implementation so I appreciate any pointers.Thanks
How do I find the real bluetooth address of a connected android device? I find the address in the mobile phone / tablet from the settings, but in the stm32wb55 program event HCI_LE_CONNECTION_COMPLETE_SUBEVT_CODE meta_evt->data structure, the address is different. The address changes after each connection (for security reasons). Is it possible to find this real address in the stm32wb55 firmware?
