I'm working with the STM32wb55ceu MCU which states that it has 512K of flash memory starting from address 0x08000000.However, I realized that if I compile and run the follow program, it will hard fault when attempting to read the value from flash (line 3)void main () { uint8_t i = *(uint8_t *)0x0806f18c; (void)i; while (1); } To my understanding, the flash should end at 0x08080000. and I have confirmed that my flash memory size is 512K by using the st-info utility. Is there some sort of memory protection I need to disable?
Trying to port code written for WB55 or WB50 onto a WB15. Obviously there's less memory available, but apparently zero documentation on what this means in the Real World. I've managed to squeeze a version of my basic application into the WB15 by making the following changes in app_conf.h:CFG_BLE_NUM_GATT_ATTRIBUTES 68 -> 48CFG_BLE_ATT_VALUE_ARRAY_SIZE (1344) -> (500)Why does this work? Is there something I can do elsewhere to give CPU2 more memory to play with? Using IAR EWARM, looking at the link map there's plenty of spare space in SRAM2, though I have had to allocate CSTACK and HEAP in SRAM2.Any help appreciated...

Good Day, I got myself a pair of LoRa-E5 mini which has STM32WLE5JC single-core. I would like to program them in a way in which they would communicate by using a channel and address id to each other. kindly give me a refernce to how to program them in cube ide. I have referred to other example materials on LoRa-WAN, sigfox & sub-GHz ping-pong. but i would like a simple way as I mentioned above.
We designed a customized board based on STM32WLE5JB SoC without the 32k LSE crystal to save cost. However the Sub-GHz radio doesn't work - LL_RCC_HSE_IsReady() always returns 0 and no radio interrupts generated. Is it because the LSE not being soldered? I didn't see the LSE is required for sub-GHz radio in the documents.
Hello everyone,We are currently trying to experiment with the STM32WB5M for it to be integrated in our project as a radio co-processor module. We have ported nimble stack (https://github.com/apache/mynewt-nimble) on our application MCU to act as an host stack using HCI over UART. The port has been validated with a nrf53 has a controller. We are now trying to experiment using the STM32WB5M in "Transparent Mode" with HCI over UART (we are using the STM32WB5M development kit with LPUART1 as transport). We end up in a situation where we are able to correctly advertise, connect to the radio (the CONNECTION_COMPLETE event is send by the STM32WB and received by the host stack and applicative layer). But the connection drops after ~3seconds, and the STM32WB doesn't send any event to notify the host stack). The issue can be replicated using the unmodified "BLE_TransparentMode" project from cubeMX on the STM32WB5M development kit. And connect it to the STM32CubeMonitor-RF application. The following "
hello , i'm following this tutorial LoRaWAN with STM32 Getting Started: Part 1, LoRaWAN with STM32WL Overview - YouTubeand i want to know why targeting STM32WL as end-node instead of STM32LO and How I can buy this material decomposer not a complete package like P_NUCLEO_LRWAN2 just buy one by one :-STM32WLJC-Nuculo STM32F746- RisingHF arduino expansion board (LRWAN_GS_HF1)thank you
I have a customer that wants to update the wireless stack on their custom assy. This has been implemented successfully following the procedure set detailed in AN5185. Please note that this is not an OTA upgrade and the stack is upgraded via application code using the FUS_FW_UPGRADE with the stack loaded in the non locked area of flash.During performance testing we are looking for the system to gracefully recover if a "power event / power cycle" occurs during the upgrade process. Although there is a specific error code for a power cycle or user abort, we are finding that the system does not appear to recover well if the power event happens while the cpu is acting on the FUS_FW_UPGRADE process.Any advice on error handling or further detail about the process would be helpful and appreciated.I also noticed that the OTA example provided includes the command SHCI_C2_FUS_FwUpgrade(0,0); (both source and destination addresses are set to 0) . What does this do and why was this done. Thanks
Hello everyone, I have been working with the stm32wb15cc for a few months and am having a weird issue. I believe I have set up TIM2 and it's interrupts properly and my TIM1 interrupts work but TIM2 interrupts are not being called. TIM2 clk speed is 4Mhz. Any insights would be appreciated! I noticed nowhere in the the setup function is there a "HAL_NVIC_SetPriority(TIM2_IRQn, 0, 0);" or HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(TIM2_IRQn); but maybe HAL does it behind the scenes? It didn't work when I added it anyways lol. I have set up the TIM2 Timer as follows:I have called "HAL_TIM_Base_Start(&htim2);" HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback function works for TIM1 but when I check for htim->Instance to be TIM2 it is never called. (callback image linked)I have made sure I enabled TIM2 interrupt in the NVIC. (interrupt image linked)The setup Code is shown below and in TIM_Setup and TIM_Setup_Code images. TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig = {0}; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0
I have an STM32WB55 board. I used the CUBEMX to generate a template that both activates the internal temperature sensor and BLE module. However, if I ran the program generated, it will be blocked in the "hw_timeserver.c" at line 566, which is:while(__HAL_RTC_WAKEUPTIMER_GET_FLAG(phrtc, RTC_FLAG_WUTWF) == RESET)If I turn the ADC off, the program will start properly, and I am able to scan and connect. the problem seems relative to the clock configuration, but I have no idea how to debug it.I attached my CUBEMX setting file. Can anyone helps me find the problem?
Any program that I generate using STM32CubeIDE for the STM32WB with BLE enabled hangs until I comment out the following line. What need to change in the initialization sequence? /** * We should never end up in this case * However, if due to any bug in the timer server this is the case, the mistake may not impact the user. * We could just clean the interrupt flag and get out from this unexpected interrupt */ while(__HAL_RTC_WAKEUPTIMER_GET_FLAG(phrtc, RTC_FLAG_WUTWF) == RESET);
HI. I bought the STM32WL lora HF Package (lora getaway + lora sense)I programmed the gateway as appear in the youtube here the link(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJU3YM1MWN4)It worked well for 1 month, suddenly I lost the signal from the node, and I check the TTN, firmware, APPKEY, DEVKEY, etc, finally, I check the gateway and realized with the following mesage in the log. _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ _/_/_/_/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ _/ _/ _/ _
I have been trying to get receiving of custom(32bit preamble, 2 byte SYNC word, fixed size) FSK packets working. It seems to work fine only sometimes. Sometimes the sync word shows up in the received data buffer and sometimes it isnt there. I honestly dont know and could not find how is the radio supposed to work in this case. Is the data buffer supposed to contain the sync word or what might be happening. I am using the Radio.SetGenericRXConfig() to configure it and Radio.Rx() to start the receiving in continuous mode.
Hi,About the stm32wl55 subGHz module. I choose FSK mode because of his higher flow rate than LORA. Question what is the preamble, i know his length can be tuned but what it is ?RegardsJP
According to the documentation: In TX mode, BUSY will go low as soon as the PA has ramped-up and the transmission of the preamble starts. The active mode switching time given in 5.7.8 Table 33 does not specify what PA Ramp time is for the *-to-TX mode transitions. What is the switching time not including the PA Ramp time?
Hi there,I am attempting to generate a simple FSK TX packet with the NUCLEO-WL55JC1 development kit, but I am struggling to understand how to enable the SUBGHZ radio and get it working. I have tried writing my own hardware interface with no luck, and when I have gone back to using the ST HAL I have gotten the same results. No matter what I try, I keep getting a status of 0xAA, which I believe means the radio is in Standby mode and has experienced a Command Execution Failure. The datasheet describes this as "Command successfully received but cannot be executed at this time, requested operating mode cannot be entered or requested data cannot be sent." This status doesn't change if I try and put the radio into another mode (for example FS or TX mode).Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong? I am assuming that I haven't initialised the radio correctly, but I haven't found a lot of initialisation guides. My initialisation code is below. // Reset radio RCC->CSR |= RCC_CSR_RF
PS: I don't want to use an external antenna
STM32WB55 bluevoice demo. Peripheral blinks blue, but turns red on SW1. Central blinks green -- on reset of central peripheral returns to blinking green. No code changes, but yesterday green blink was rapid today slow. I can't ask good questions yet because I am trying to figure out how this works, but I need it working to do that. Any ideas?
I'm currently looking into how to actually set the security modes and security levels for a BLE device build on the STM32WB55RG chip.I have found the method to get what the security mode and level is:tBleStatus aci_gap_get_security_level( uint16_t Connection_Handle, uint8_t* Security_Mode, uint8_t* Security_Level );However I have not found a method or combination of methods to configure the actual security mode and level for my BLE chip.Currently to setup the authentification requirements I'm using this method:tBleStatus aci_gap_set_authentication_requirement( uint8_t Bonding_Mode, uint8_t MITM_Mode, uint8_t SC_Support, uint8_t KeyPress_Notification_Support, uint8_t Min_Encryption_Key_Size, uint8_t Max_Encryption_Key_Size, uint8_t Use_Fixed_Pin, uint32_t Fixed_Pin, uint8_t Identity_Address_Type );And I'm using the io capability method for that part:tBleStatus aci_gap_set_io_capability( uint8_t IO_Capability );I can't find any documentation specifying how to actually configure
Does someone tried to have geolocation somehow with STM32WL Lora Stack?Supposedly it's included in the protocol using RSSI or TDOA against different gateways.Another way is to have direct link without gateway of known position nodes and the different RSSI.Best Regards.
Hi, I tested the board with the UART_TwoBoardPolling but I don't succed to turn the user button 1 into the user button 2. The LED stops blinking but nothing append. With the debugger, it is going somewhere but i don't see where... maybe hardfault ?
Hi there,I have a small question about the Radio IRQ lines on the STM32WL series. As far as I am aware, there are two MCU interrupts tied to the SUBGHZ radio: the RFBUSY interrupt (EXTI45) and the SUBGHZ_Radio_IRQ (EXTI44). However, when setting up the radio, there is the option to configure 3 separate IRQ lines. What is the purpose of this if there is only one interrupt available on the MCU side? Thanks,Rebecca
