First of all, I was doing basic HAL_UART communication with lora modules. Now I have a new project which requires really really low power so I decided to go with stm32wl.I will have 50 end node device (sensor device) and 1 base station. Sensor device will send data to base station every 20 minute. I don't want to use loraWan network like (TTN,LORIOT, etc.). Base station will internet connection and base station send these 50 sensor datas to http client.I watched this video MOOC - STM32WL workshop - 4 Point to point. Can I achieve to do my project if I refer this video?Can I do point to multipoint communication with stm32wl's libraries ?
I am experimenting with the STM32WLE5 and the embedded SX126 LoRa-radio. (aka SubGHz)I simply reset the SubGHz, then read its status, and this always returns a 'Failure To Execute Command' (according to section 13.5.1 GetStatus from SX126 datasheet) or when referring to the RM0461 reference manual, the GetStatus can be found in section 4.8.5 'Communication status information commands'Here is the code :SET_BIT(RCC->CSR, RCC_CSR_RFRST); // Activate Reset HAL_Delay(10U); CLEAR_BIT(RCC->CSR, RCC_CSR_RFRST); // Release Reset HAL_Delay(250U); uint8_t commandData[64] { 0 }; // contains parameters when sending a command to the SX126x uint8_t responseData[64] { 0 }; // contains results when reading from SX126x HAL_SUBGHZ_ExecGetCmd(&hsubghz, RADIO_GET_STATUS, responseData, 1); uint8_t chipMode = (responseData[0] & 0x70) >> 4; uint8_t commandStatus = (responseData[0] & 0x0E) >> 1; theLog.snprintf("chipMode = [%02X], commandStatus = [%
Hello,Currently I am working on STM32WL55JC single core where I initialized PB3, PB4, PB5 and PA15 for SPI1 line with a FLASH Memory MT25QL.I tried basic with reading Flash memory ID.It worked when i used the SPI_FullDuplex_ComPolling_Master example as shown in first picture but when i tried to create my own project file it didn't worked {0xf as shown in 2nd Picture). I even tried generating code using Ioc file of SPI_FullDuplex_ComPolling_Master example.What could be the reason? Am I missing something here?I am using STM32Cube FW_WL V1.3.0.Thank you
Hello everybody .I am using openthread in a project. I am creating an openthread network using the stm32wb processor. I install the MTD stack software on the slaves I choose from my cards because I always want them to be child. Everything works fine, but the child device joins the openthrad network late (2 seconds). How can I lower this value?
I used STM32WLE5JC control for playing the song via I2S. I have used SPI2 (alternat function of I2S) in the STM32WLE5JC. I can read the song in SD card and transmit the signal to the I2S in the I2S module (MAX98357A). The signal is transmitted to the I2S module and speaker ready to play. But I set the I2S exact hearable frequency(44.1khz) in the I2S initialization, that time noise is produced by the speaker. When I set the 8khz,11.025khz the song played slowly in the speaker. I am using MAX98357A mentioned frequency in the STM32WLE5JC, but no result.I have attached the system clock & I2S configuration:

Hello, I need to send data from STM32WB Nucleo to the computer (any symbol), I spend many days, but didn't find any simple example for that in Google. I was surprised usually I never had a problem like that... Please, can you share a simple example of how to send data/symbol/something from STM32 WB to the computer via BLERegards,
Learning how to use the STM32WB55RG alongside the 'Mastering STM32' by Carmine Noviello. I followed the instructions for setting up interrupts to use the NUCLEO hardware buttons, but when I build, I get a warning that 'HAL_GPIO_EXTI_Callback' defined but not used [-Wunused-function]. I have pasted some snippets of my code to help. I have added toggling the state of an LED to the Handler functions to ensure they are being called. What seems to happen is that the __weak function is called, despite me placing a definition of the callback in main... any help is appreciated.EDIT: I should also mention that the interrupts do not work, the callback is not called as per the warningstatic void MX_GPIO_Init(void) { GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct = {0}; /* GPIO Ports Clock Enable */ __HAL_RCC_GPIOC_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOB_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOA_CLK_ENABLE(); __HAL_RCC_GPIOD_CLK_ENABLE(); /*Configure GPIO pin Output Level */ HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOB, LD2_Pin|LD
Hi,Is there any way to put STM32WB to stop1 mode, without using sequencer, while BLE advertising is on? I know how to enable stop1 and I know how to enable advertising. But how to combine it? I'm exploring the BLE_Peripheral_lite sample. In BLE_HearRate sample I see that sequencer can put MCU into stop1 mode, but how to do this without sequencer?
Hi,I'm using STM32WB5MMG and want to send 8-bit data through BLE every specified duration (e.g. 1s). I have tested the Bluetooth and timer interrupt separately and both works fine. However, when I tried to trigger the Bluetooth using timer interrupt as shown in the following code, both stop working.The error is:

Good morning everyone,I'm using NUCLEO-WL55jc1 board and STM32CubeIDE 1.10.1. The case is that before creating a new second project, the ST-LINK V3 was detected and everything worked properly. However, currenly, when I want to debug the program I get this message (even with the first project I have, LoRaWAN_End_Node example).I hope someone could help me.Thank you very much,Carlos
Dear all,How can we generate a 40 KHz signal based on LSE (32KHz crystal)? If I Feed the HSE 32MHz / 32 to run the either LPTIMER's would it be still in low power?Thanks,mmsya.
Hello everyone. I am using openthread with stm32wb55 processor in one of my projects. I have a related question. I cannot make the number of children connected to the leader or the router more than 10.I am using the childmax11\r command.OPENTHREAD_CONFIG_MLE_MAX_CHILDREN in the software this value was equal to 10, but changing this value did not work. What would be the reason?
Hi,My 1st post here, so please forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong category.2nd disclaimer, I'm predominantly a HW engineer, so I have a limited amount to SW experience.I've been trying to put together a OT border router application on a BeagleBone Black, using the P-Necleo-WB55 board programmed as a RCP.My intention is to build a border router (and other products) using the STM32WB5 modules.I followed the OpenThread instructions to setup the BBB Debian installation, with the only difference being that I interfaced the BBB to the RCP directly via a UART interface. Naturally, I am struggling to get it working.I've managed to see UART traffic from the BBB platform, but have not been able to get any UART communication with the STM32WB55.I also looked into this ST article on how to setup a border router, where the author comments that one can connect to the STM32WB55 board to a hyperterminal to view the RCP logs:Connect one HyperTerminal (ST_Link) to be able to get the RCP running
I've read all topics regarding this error on the forum but nothing helped. The borad connected to Arduino connector is USI® WM-SG-SM-42. Projects build succesfully and connect with the board through ST-Link v3. This is the output I get when debugger and low power work is not enabled(set to 0):STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. Version 6.0.0Starting server with the following options: Persistent Mode : Disabled Logging Level : 1 Listen Port Number : 61234 Status Refresh Delay : 15s Verbose Mode : Disabled
HelloI am trying to implement low power mode with STM32WLE5 MCU (as a part of RAK3172-SIP).However, the current consumption is unreasonably high.I measure around 200uA with 3.6V and around 150uA with 3.3V.Did many tests with different configurations, checked the RF switches. I use TXCO, but even if I run with internal clock - no changes. Debug mode is disabled.How can I debug it further?I even tried to go into Stop2 mode directly before HAL_Init() - still the same 200uA (at 3.6V) consumption. So even before all periphery is initialized I cannot get the lower consumption.I did similar test with Wio-e5 module just to check that the HW is not an issue, and there I 've got around 300uA (at 3.6V). So I have no questions to HW.Regarding the HW, there I have one 100k resistor to BOOT0 to GND and one 100k pullup to nRST. The rest is caps and inductors for supply lines, nothing else is connected to the module.I was thinking this is because of SMPS - but I checked that it is not running in
Hi guys,Do you ever had a thought about making the CoPro firmware opensource and allow the community to participate the development? I see that the progress in maintining the Thread protocol is quite slow compared to the Openthread main repos, also some bugs I found during development could already be closed by myself if I only had the CoPro sources. For example, a problem on the DNS subsystem is in your github issues page since 1 month, maybe I can had solved that problem in the meanwhile and share the solution with other guys. I'm not questioning about the delay, I can understand that not all developer in ST can work on every topic. This is the exactly reason why I'm suggesting the opensource approach.BestAlessio
Hi I'm trying to create a new project from an .ioc file and I get 2 errors, first the "code generation could not be done most probably because the neccessary firmware package is missing, not able to complete stm32Cube project creation" then as suggested I use the "project>Generate Code" tool to complete the code generation. The files looks fine but I cant build the project, when I see the project propieties I notice that there are no buidlers added. When I create a new blank project using the same MCU part the builders are added with no trouble and the project can be build. the project from where I get the .ioc file is in this repo. What am I doing wrong? could it be a linux related error since I'm using Ubuntu 22?
I am writing a driver for the STM32 to get the data from the front-end board, AD5940 using the SPI communication. I am using the AD5940 library available at the : https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/ad5940lib.STM32WB55xx has been used. I have configured the SPI clock to the < AD5940 clock speed. Added the SPI and CS pin configuration in cube mx. whenever I am trying to read the chipid, I am always getting ffff. Also, When projecting the MISO line on the digital analyzer, observing the miso line stays high always. Please find the cubemx main.c file for reference:
In my application, I receive a message from LoRa and intend to transmit it via UART1 which is set to PA9 and PA10. However, when I check the UART RX using a logic analyzer, I do not receive anything.I have tested the UART1 alone in a simple project, and it works fine. But, when I integrate UART1 into the SubGHz_Phy_Per and STM32WL-SubGHz-PhyBasic-Tx-Rx examples, it does not work.I have added HAL-UART to the OnTxDone function, main function, and other parts of the code, but the issue persists. Can someone please suggest a solution to this problem?#[UART/USART] #LoRa #STM32WL
