I'm working on an application that requires a very fast UART speed. The STM32H7 allows a UART speed of 17 Mbps, which is just barely enough, but should work. However, other than the fast UART speed, I don't need to do a lot of processing. I would have much preferred to use an ultra-low-power device instead.Because of this I want to run the MCU clock speed as low as possible. However, using CubeMX and the clock configuration tool, I'm running into issues where when I drop the CPU clock, the maximum speed of the UART peripheral clock drops too low for my needs. I've traced this down to what I believe is a voltage scaling "VOS" issue. Each VOS voltage scaling value places a limit on the maximum UART speed (see General operating conditions table, fpclk value).So my question is basically, Could I run the CPU at 140 MHz (which seems to recommend VOS3) but set VOS to VOS0, which would allow the 17 Mbps UART speed? Or do I need to us VOS3 with that low of a CPU clock? Are there any issues I sh

Hi, I am planning to build a motor controller using ST Motor control work bench is it possible to use STM32F072B-DISCO with custom power board with this GUI. If yes what are the limitations    Board link: https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/32f072bdiscovery.html

I have a doubt regarding the motor state flow diagram. Currently, i am working on sensorless FOC of SM-PMSM using STM32G321B-ESC1 discovery kit with the help of MCSDK 6.1.1.To understand the motor state flow, i referred few documents from the documentation of MCSDK. But, there is only explaination of 6 step library (UM3042 STM32 motor control SDK - 6-step firmware library).Below is the Motor state figure from UM3042 for 6 stepCan someone please share me the motor state diagram for FOC sensoreless or related document for FOC library? Thanks in advance:)

Hi,I'm developing STM32G031 UARTs using registers and the CMSIS library. I’m using NUCLEO-G031K8 UART2 over an embedded STLINK/V3 on board and UART1 over an external CP210x UAR/USB adapter.  I have a problem receiving data to UART1. No problem to receive data to UART2. Also both UARTs transmissions are working properly. I’m using the same configuration: // USART1_TX = PA9 // USART1_RX = PA10 // USART2_TX = PA2 // USART2_RX = PA3 void my_uart1_conf ( void ) { RCC->IOPENR |= RCC_IOPENR_GPIOAEN ; // Activate clock in GPIOA GPIOA->MODER &= ~GPIO_MODER_MODE9_0 ; // Set Alternate Function (AF) for USART1_TX GPIOA->MODER &= ~GPIO_MODER_MODE10_0 ; // Set Alternate Function (AF) for USART1_RX GPIOA->AFR[1] |= GPIO_AFRH_AFSEL9_0 ; // AFRH is AFR[1]. Choose AF1 GPIOA->AFR[1] |= GPIO_AFRH_AFSEL10_0 ; // AFRH is AFR[1]. Choose AF1 GPIOA->OTYPER |= GPIO_OTYPER_OT10 ; // Choose Open_drain for RX to avoid P-MOS transistors issues //GPIOA->PUPDR

I soldered a stm32g030F6P6 on ssop-to-beadboard PCB. When I connect Vdd(pin4) to 3V, Vss(pin5) to ground it will over current and burn it self (about 200mA input current). I have burnt 3 of it.I find out that the input resistance of power rail is super low at around 10 ohm and I am 100% sure I did not bridge the pins together, here is the picture where pin number is aligned with breadboard and white line is ground blue line is 3V capacitor is 0.1uFWhat seem to be the problem here?I have burnt 3 of it on 3 different ssop-to-beadboard PCB therefore can rule out the possibility of bad soldering.

I'm currently trying to build a custom PCB using LSM6DSO. I just have few questions about the pins I don't use. I have no need for SPI communication, interrupts and VDD, not VDDIO cuz I need to power it through my RPi. I only need I2C communication and I need the PCB to be as small as it can get (like 1.6 cm in width, 2.4 cm in length), so I thought of connecting the unused pins, which are VDD, INT2, SCX, SDX, SDO/SA0 in this case to the ground with capacitors and only have the pins for I2C for soldering. The X's on the pins mean I should leave them unconnected.My question is, are there any pins on the schematics I made that should not be connected to the ground and should rather leave them unconnected after making their pins? I am very much new to circuit. Any advice, recommendation or anything helpful is very welcome.

When developing my external loader I changed its name.It works well under this new name.But STM32CubeProgrammer V1.14 continues to want to load the file that no longer exists:  20:20:04 : STM32CubeProgrammer API v2.14.0 | Windows-64Bits 20:20:04 : Error: Flash loader C:\Program Files\STMicroelectronics\STM32Cube\STM32CubeProgrammer\bin/ExternalLoader/AASun_W25Q64_V1.1.stldr cannot be loaded. 20:20:04 : Error: Flash loader C:\Program Files\STMicroelectronics\STM32Cube\STM32CubeProgrammer\bin/ExternalLoader/AASun_W25Q64_V1.1.stldr cannot be loaded.  How can I avoid this message?

Hi supporter, I'm working with ST25R for NFC reader which read e-passport.In our current set up, system run on STM32MP1, some open source provides example via CCID and pcsc-lite driver.Based on my knowledge, currently only userspace application is supported.Any chance that we can make pcsc-lite works with ST25R? Thanks,

Hi,I 'm trying to code TIM to count 5s for me using CMSIS. Using the code snippet provided below I got IRQ immediately.RCC->APBENR2 |= RCC_APBENR2_TIM16EN ; // Enable TIM16 clock TIM16->PSC = 16000 - 1 ; // 1 ms TIM16->ARR = 10000 - 1 ; // 10 s = 10000 * 1 ms TIM16->DIER |= TIM_DIER_UIE ; // Enable interrupt generation NVIC_SetPriority ( TIM16_IRQn , 0 ) ; // Configure interrupt priority NVIC_EnableIRQ ( TIM16_IRQn ) ; // Enable interrupt TIM16->CR1 |= TIM_CR1_CEN ; // Start count TIM16 I know the solution for HAL to avoid immediate IRQ would be: __HAL_TIM_CLEAR_IT ( &htim16 , TIM_IT_UPDATE ) ; Please help to find relevant solution in CMSIS, because I stucked.Here is entire code .V/ryabool2001

Hi, I was following the STM32MP157F-DK2 tutorial for developing on ARM Cortex A7. I have two problems:1) Starter package - i have using STM32CubeProgrammer to download the image to a new SD Card, but the board failed to load Linux2) i have tried the example given for hello_world.c . host cross-compilation is successful, but the program cannot run on the board with the following error messages:root@stm32mp1:/usr/local# su -l weston -c "/usr/local/gtk_hello_world"chown: cannot read directory '/home/root': Permission denied/usr/local/gtk_hello_world: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.34' not found (required by /usr/local/gtk_hello_world)appreciate any help.

Hi,I just wanted to mention that its really frustrating that in the STM32H7 HAL Manual, in the RCC Section,1. There isnt a simple step by step guide to setting up the clock config to follow along, like there is for other things like GPIO's. As someone who's just starting in embedded with STM32, I really would want STM to include step by step guides for every section in their HAL Manual.2. In the RCC Section of the HAL Manual there is no section which talks about Voltage scaling. I luckily stumbled across it but what if someone else did not know about it. There should be the step by step guide, which includes the steps for setting the voltage regulator as per the desired clock config. I know that this may be something that is 'supposed' to be done in STM32CUBEMX, but in order to really learn, I don't want the software to do everything, I want to learn and see what actually goes on. The HAL Manual has been pretty good with that but there's tons of sections like RCC, and even PWR tha

Hi,I have small headless firmware and wish to include a version constant in the Binary image so I can determine the version when using the debugger.It's easy if your project has a display, but I can't figure out an easy way of doing it for a simple system.  If I put a string constant in main.c the linker doesn't include it as the string isn't used anywhere. Does anyone know of an easy way to do this with an example?RegardsRob

I used stm32wb55rgv6 and stm32wb5mmg in the stm32wb series for simple Bluetooth projects (using hw_timeserver to send notification data), and then used nRF Connect to receive notification data. My program and design are basically the same, but only stm32wb55rgv6 succeeded, while stm32wb5mmg failed, as shown in the figure:  I have compared these two projects many times, and based on an5289, I think his process is quite normal. I guess there is something wrong with the design of HW_timeserver timing triggering. I'm trying to Receive a message "hello" from serial monitor and viewing it on Live expression,but message is not coming as word. It is coming as single letter- H E L L O.char msg[20]="hello\r";HAL_UART_Receive(&huart2,msg,sizeof(msg),1000);i am using this code.

Hello Community,I am working on a Vibration Measurement system that will be subjected to lifetime vibrations ranging from 10Hz to 2000Hz at approximately 1g with expected lifetime of 2 years with 16 hours daily vibration & 8 hours of no vibration.I'm considering using the STM32 LQFP64 package (of STM32G0B0 & STM32G474) for this application but am concerned about its mechanical robustness under such conditions. The temperature shall always be less than 75'CCould anyone provide information on the vibration tolerance levels of STM32 MCUs in general, and the LQFP64 package in particular? I've found limited to none data/information/specifications on this subject and would greatly appreciate any insights or firsthand experiences.Moreover, I've noticed multiple products that feature both an MCU and MEMS Accelerometers on the same PCB, which are installed in environments subjected to lifetime vibrations of upto 3g over 10Hz to 2000Hz range. Can someone share thoughts on the long-term r

I am reading quaternions from the SFLP and converting to yaw, pitch and roll (YPR). The results are remarkably stable and accurate! I noticed though when performing some simple testing with the sensor on a breadboard and the breadboard flat on a tabletop that the YPR values return NaN when the yaw is ~180 degrees. I need to investigate further the individual byte values from the FIFO under this condition but I am pretty sure this is due to the halffloat-to-float conversion. Are you aware of any such problem or have you seen this before, and is there a recommanded work around?

Hello, have been working with my L476RG and was curious if any of the ST accelerometers would be compatible with this board? I didn't see any in the X series of nucleo expansion boards.ThanksDG

Hi everyone,Is anyone can explain the SLEEPDEEP bit from SCB->SCR with more information than the pm0214 stm32 cortex-m4 reference manual?Controls whether the processor uses sleep or deep sleep as its low power mode: 0=Sleep, 1=Deep SleepWhat i want to know exactly is why do we need to reset this bit when waking up?If you refer to the image attached, taken from HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP2Mode, first line after __WFE(),is to clear back the deep sleep bit.What is the effect to clear that bit?For your information. it seems to be very important on STM32WLE4CB because it fixed a mcu deadlock/crash issue i had recently.  I had a __NOP() following the __WFE() instead of the deepsleep bit clearing.Any information you got regarding this will be very helpful to understand.Best Regards

Hi, I ran into a bug a while back where some ADC reads I had set up weren't working. In the course of debugging I found that the ADCs only worked after I changed the order in which some automatically generated startup functions were called in order to initialize the DMA controller before the ADCs. However, whenever I make changes to my .ioc and generate code it regenerates these startup functions in the wrong order. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?This is the incorrect order they are generated in:This is the order I have to change it to for the ADCs to work:

Hi,Under TouchGFX designer application there is an advertisement touting "STM32U599 fully supported" with an image of the kit with the rounded display. I got the kit from ST (STM32U5A9J-DK / DK32U5A9J$AT1) with the STM32U5A9, with the same round display.Contrary to some other "board demos", this demo only works with the simulator. Maybe that's the reason why it's only present in the first tab named "demos", and not within the second tab "board specific demo".In the build section of the demo named "TouchGFX demo 6", which is exactly the same application running on the kit, there are no instructions to build and upload the demo to the target.How to solve this? Any hint?

Hi,We were looking at the LIS3MDL sensor. Apparently it is a magnetoresistive sensor. When we examined other magnetoresistive sensors in the market we have seen that they need set/reset circuits in order to compensate for the disturbances in the magnetic domains of magnetoresistive sensors. However, in the datasheet of LIS3MDL we couldn't see anything about it. Does LIS3MDL require an external set/reset circuit or is it already in the chip?

I am using STM32F103C8 MCU and Trying to communicate with Quectel EC200U-CN 4G module and i am not getting data through UART2 Receive pin. Please go through my code and suggest mevoid USART2_IRQHandler(void){ if ((USART2->SR & USART_SR_RXNE) != RESET){ GSM_buf[GSM_indx] = USART2->DR; GSM_indx++; while(!(USART2->SR & USART_SR_TC)); } if(GSM_indx >= (BUF_SIZE-1)) GSM_indx = 0; }

In RM0456 section 73.4.3 OTG_HS core (p.3279) I found the following statement:"The OTG_HS receives the 60 MHz clock from the reset and clock controller (RCC). This is typically generated in the PLL associated with the HS PHY and enabled in the RCC. This clock is used for driving the 60 MHz domain at high-speed (480 Mbit/s) and must be enabled prior to configuring the OTG core."I try to configure STM32U5A9 MCU with CubeMX, but I find no option to configure USB 60MHz clock.The only available clock setting called "OTG HS Clock" cannot be set to a value larger 32HMz and probably needs to match setting under "Pinout & Configuration" where this time it is called "Ref Clock selection" - see screenshots below.Where do I set 60MHz clock as described in RM0456? Instead, CubeMX offers 16/19.2/20/24/26/32MHz clock selection. In RM0456 I found no 16/19.2/20/24/26/32MHz clock values mentioned.Please advise. I am a bit confused.

Hello,how can I reset FIFO_Get_Rotation_Vector in LSM6DSV16x sensor? Regards,Fehmi.
