I'm trying to jump from the Arduino realm to STM8 realm and setting this software up is brutal going through company IT. They won't give me admin rights and I'm wondering if that is why I can't edit a simple stm8.h files to uncomment out my particular MCU. I'm using the STM8-so8-Disco discovery board and all I wanted to do was change the delay rates of the LED setting, but I can't change anything in the demo files. I found a step by step setup process and I'm walking through that online, Starting STM8 Microcontrollers | Embedded Lab (embedded-lab.com) but that says you need to load the library files and edit the stm8s.h file to uncomment the particular MCU you are using, but I cannot do that either. I've tried everything I can think of but I'm starting to wonder if it might be caused by the fact that my IT group won't let me have admin rights to my PC so I can't run the program as the administrator. Could that be the problem and is there a work around? Thanks

I have the low power timer LPTIM1 working on a STM32H7A3 but the way I have to clear the IRQs is a little confusing.  Here's my IRQHandler:void LPTIM1_IRQHandler(void) { //Disable LPTIM1 CLEAR_BIT(LPTIM1->CR, 0x01); //Clear IRQs LL_LPTIM_ClearFlag_ARRM(LPTIM1); LL_LPTIM_ClearFlag_CMPM(LPTIM1); //Enable LPTIM1 SET_BIT(LPTIM1->CR, 0x01); LL_LPTIM_StartCounter(LPTIM1, LL_LPTIM_OPERATING_MODE_CONTINUOUS); lptim1TestTimerCallBack(); }I don't understand why I have to disable LPTIM1 before clearing the ARRM and CMPM IRQ flags.  Nothing I've found in the reference manual says I need to do this.  But if I don't, LPTIM1_IRQHandler keeps getting called with no delay.  If I do the enable/disable dance, LPTIM1 function as I expect.  If I understand correctly, disabling LPTIM1 stops the counter while I clear the IRQs.  In this case, that little bit of added delay isn't a big issue but it doesn't seem right and I'd like to understand what I'm doing wron

I am trying to write code for a simple transmit and receive in FDCAN (Classic Mode) in external loopback mode, but I have been unsuccessful in doing so. I don't even know where I am going wrong and am looking for help as my last resort.  I have tried using the MCP2551 CAN trasceiver and also without, as I am unsure whether the NUCLEO H7A3ZI-Q has an inbuilt transceiver or not. Whenever I try to run my code, the TxBufferMessagePending starts facing errors. Also, I wanted to know, if a transceiver is required for CAN interface, is it possible on a CAN transceiver like the MCP2551 or do I require a seperate CANFD transceiver. Please find attached .ioc file and main.c code for my STM Project.

STM32f103vet6It's in the manual that SDIO adapter clock (SDIOCLK = HCLK).  When HCLK is set to 72MHz, SDIO_CK is configured through the register SDIO_CLKCR bit 7:0(CLKDIV). When the bypass clock is not used, SDIO_CK=SDIOCLK/[CLKDIV+2], which should be the frequency division of 72MHzBut the default parameter in the code generated by STM32CubeMX is to divide 48MHz. The two macros in the file stm32f1xx_ll_sdmmc.h are defined for 48MHz, and these two macros are used when calling the HAL SD Init function. If used in this way, it will cause overclocking.

Hello Team, Hello i have a Nucleo H745ZI_Q board in this Ethernet without RTOS is working fine but  when am going to configure ADC  all the three ADCs are shows error message --> Partly Disabled conflict with: ETH: mode RMII   even many channels also showing error message . Whats the issue ?? How to resolve this ???? Best Regards,Gagan Gowda G R

I use STM32F407 Discovery board to generate analog signals using DAC with DMA transfer. The goal is to use both DAC channels to have two signals generated simultaneously. However, I cannot enable the DMA request for the second channel. After analyzing previous posts, I understood that I need to change the settings on the low level and deal with registers. The reference manual states:To efficiently use the bus bandwidth in applications that require the two DAC channels at thesame time, three dual registers are implemented: DHR8RD, DHR12RD and DHR12LD. Aunique register access is then required to drive both DAC channels at the same time. The problem is that I cannot find the way to configure these registers in STM32CubeIDE and understand what exactly do I need to change to enable the dual DAC channel converstion. Could you answer whether I am on the right way of thinking, and if yes, what can I do to access the register values of the DAC and enable the DMA request for the sec

Hi, I am MURALI SELVAM I need a reference schematic for STM32F103RCT6TR. Anybody with a reference schematic for STM32F103RCT6TR, Kindly share me thank you.

I have a few questions about the DFU mode on the STM32F723. My goal is to enable users to flash a binary file to the MCU via a USB connection. My implementation is that i placed a 22uF capacitor on the boot0 pin then tied another IO pin (EO) in this case to boot0. To enable DFU mode, currently I pull E0 high for a second to charge the capacitor, then switch the pin to an input to make it high impedance. Next Deinit the USB HS Handle. After that do an NVIC Reset. My issue is that after resetting I don't see any new USB DFU device. Even though my USB CDC/HID Composite device is working at USB HS speeds using the onboard USB 2.0HS PHY.Here is my SchematicWhat do you think I am missing? Linux lsusb, and dmesg show nothing at all. Thanks!

ST undoubtedly put lots of effort in building a complete and coherent solution supporting secure firmware install (SFI), even done by contract manufacturer (CM) independent from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). See AN5054 and AN4992.However, how can I use this solution, or even part of it, to allow the end user to update STM32U5 firmware once a new version becomes available, preferably using firmware image downloaded from my website and stored on USB pendrive? I imagine that such image could be generated based on the actual device "license" provided (uploaded) by the end user, but it is not a must. Are there any examples, application notes, or presentations available on this subject?Reading firmware file from the pendrive is not a problem, but what needs to happen next is.Please advise.

Hello everyone,I'm seeking your guidance regarding the substitution of 0402 inductors with 0603 in the NUCLEO-WL5JC MB1389 high band schematics (https://www.st.com/resource/en/schematic_pack/mb1389-wl55jc-highband-e02_schematic.pdf). In the RF section of the schematics, there are 0402 (highlighted in Red inside attached sheet) power inductors from Murata. I have chosen the replacement in 0603 (highlighted Blue) accordingly. However, only two inductors have slightly lower specifications (highlighted in gray-red). I would appreciate your advice on whether the specifications of the selected inductor would be suitable for this application. (LQW15AN3N6C10 -> LQW18AN3N6D00 and LQW15AN3N0B00 -> LQW18AN3N0C8ZD)

Hi community, just a single question as confirm.  I am working with stm32f429.From the schematic the hw engineer decided to use the following pin for spi purpose for communicating with an eeprom  Can you confirm that i cannot use those pins for spi purpose ? (i have tried to select sp1,sp2,sp3,sp4,sp5,sp6) Thanks a lot

Hi,I need low side switch which is Automotive qualified, support more than 60V with over current protection feature. Please suggest some parts which meet followed requirements. Please reply as soon as possible. Regards,Sangeeta K

Hi, I'm new to the community and I hope someone could help me with the following. I was wondering is there any way to distinguish between a human body and a static object, like a piece of paper when detecting obstacles with ToF sensors(e.g. VL53L4CX, VL53L5CX)? Is there a way to detect some sort of body heat or any particular aspect of the body that will differentiate the human presence from other constant entity? Are there any colour limitations of the ToF sensors such as very dark(black) surfaces that absorbs the photons and hence limiting the reflection of the emitted light?I've read in some articles that these sensors don't like curved surfaces as the laser beam will not bounce back to the collector...would this compromise the human body detection?I would appreciate any advise or input and thank you in advance.

I'm collecting 100 samples on a 200ms timing budget and reporting the average once a minute, so if it's just one sample, it's high by what you see * 100. The behavior appears sensitive to the value for sensor.setSignalRateLimit(). I have it down from 0.25 (25kcps) to 0.025 (2.5kcps) for the bulk of the graph. For the right ~10% of the graph it is set to 0.005 (5kcps) to see if that reduces the frequency of occurrence. With higher SignalRateLimit() settings, or the default value, I get more frequent and several levels of spike indicating that one or more readings are just some overflow value x.01, .02. .03 or .04, depending on whether the condition occurs 1, 2, 3,4 etc. times in 100 samples. I can deal with it at this point and have a useful system, but it's bugging me. The L0X is installed in a ~half full steel 275V oil tank with zero ambient light and it has a cover with cross talk barrier.I know that the 4CD would probably be better, and I am experimenting with at present, but the ava

Hello!I am trying to read some blocks from a iso 15693 tag. I can do it with Android without any problem. But when I try to do it with iOS I always receive the response [255,255]. What does it mean? For example:22 33 E0 02 51 00 02 4E BE 55 08 00 32 00 Flags: 22Function: 33 (Extended read multiple blocks)Uid: E0 02 51 00 02 4E BE 55Start block: 00 08Number of blocks: 00 32I don't know if the problem is the CRC16.It occurs the same when I try to send the present password (B3 function), I receive the same response.I know is not necessary to append it in Android, but, is it necessary in iOS?which algorithm of CRC16 I have to use?which bytes I have to use to generate CRC? all the message (22 33 E0 02 51 00 02 4E BE 55 08 00 32 00)? Thank you!

Hi,Im using LSM6DSV16B & IIS2MDC for one of my project , how can i find heading using these sensor. Is there any library available for heading calculation?

On MacOS 14.2.1, STM32CubeMonitor 1.7.0, STM32CubeIDE 1.14.0, NUCLEO-H563ZI MB1404CIn CubeIDE I created a new project with:/* USER CODE BEGIN 0 */volatile uint32_t i;/* USER CODE END 0 */and/* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */while (1) {/* USER CODE END WHILE *//* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ i = (i + 1) % 300; HAL_Delay(100); }/* USER CODE END 3 */I load the code into the processor, run it in the debugger, and it goes through the proper motions, i ramps from 0 to 299 and repeats.Next, in CubeMonitor I use the basic template, as described in various ST training videos, to display the value of 'i' and it always comes up on my chart as having a value of zero.I try various things, delete any extraneous stuff, try again from the templates, restart, reset, retry, try a different instance of the Nucleo board, but the answer is always zero. So, I grab a Nucleo-F767ZI board, new project in CubeIDE with the same USER CODE sections, load and check, update the same CubeMonitor flow for the new ST-Link and .elf fil

Hello,I really like the touchGFX framework. I am working in the startup company and we are developing the in-vitro medical device. One of our feature is LCD screen and I would like to build awesome and modern GUI for that purpose (gui's in medical looks often old-stylish). The main problem is, all existing software (libraries, frameworks) are known as SOUP (software of unknown provenance) and there are restrictions of using such a software in the medical target. Since we have to comply with IEC62304 and FDA510(k) standards this may be a problem. I have not too much experience with standarization, that is why I want to ask if somebody has used this framework in critical and safety-related systems?Probably there is not to many people doing such a things, so this question is directed rather to the developers of TouchGFX. Do you know some examples of application including TouchGFX? Maybe you can provide some extra resources (documentation, history files, tests) for an additional fee? Thanks

I am developing a terminal device that performs serial communication and Ethernet communication using stm32f429zit6. TCP IP communication is performed between this terminal device and the server, and lwip raw API is being used for TCP IP communication. When this terminal device starts Ethernet communication with the server, it operates normally at the beginning, but then retransmission occurs from the server, communication is cut off, and the software operation of the terminal device stops. From what we have analyzed so far, it seems that retransmission occurs when the terminal device receives a packet from the server and gives an ACK signal late. Is there a way to improve this in the terminal device? The log below is the Ethernet communication packet log between the server and the terminal device. Here, 192.168.0.11 is the IP number of the server and 192.168.0.210 is the IP number of the terminal device.

Hello Community,Using the USART commands in boot mode on a STM32H723 CPU, I faced following issues:Extended erase (0x44) and writing memory(0x31) to the flash works fine, if I write ALL bytes in blocks of 256 bytes. But if I do a read memory(0x11) after writing one block for verify purposes, I get FFs on the first bytes instead the correctly written data. This happens exactly after the second read block always, even if I write 4 blocks and do the readback then. The STM32 CubeProgrammer also only supports verification AFTER writing all data to the flash, not block by block. Is this a generic limitation in the boot loader ?

Hello.I am very new in using STM32. I am using STM32H747I-DISCO board. For my project, I only need one ADC in differential mode. Previously, I tried to use DMA with ADC but it never worked, even the "ADC dual mode interleaved" example provided by st didn't work. So, I started to fiddle with "PollForConversion" and interrupt methods. Now, from CubeIDE, i have the following clock setup,CPU1 - 480 MHz, CPU2 - 240 MHz, APB1 and APB2 timer clocks - 240 MHz, ADC - 21 MHzOnly have channel 1 set to differential mode for ADC1 and Timer 2 in free running (1 MHz) to measure timings. Here's the timer initialize, static void MX_TIM2_Init(void) { TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig = {0}; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig = {0}; htim2.Instance = TIM2; htim2.Init.Prescaler = 240; htim2.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim2.Init.Period = 4294967295; htim2.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; htim2.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_DISABLE; if (HAL_T

I created new program using latest CubeMX 6.10.0, I use Keil. I upload without any problems.I use ST Link v3 connected to PA13 (SWDIO) , PA14 (SWCLK)The program is running but when I try to connect again it says STM32 not found.I cannot debug, I cannot download again. There is no extra code, only plain code created by CubeMX, all pins are not enabled, nothing.Still the same problem. I connect pin BOOT0 to 3.3V and suddenly I can access the chip again and upload program. When I use program created by older CubeMX, I do not have this problem.Has anybody seen something like this ? There must be something with the code generated by latest CubeMXI haven't check other chips I have noticed this only with STM32F103CBT6. Other might be affected too.

Hello,I'm currently working with the STM32H745I-DISCO board, using STM32CubeIDE and STM32CubeMX v1.14.0 for peripheral initialization. Initially, I enabled SDMMC1 on the Cortex-M7 core, which worked well - the necessary resources were added to my project under the "STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver" folder:stm32h7xx_hal_mmc.cstm32h7xx_hal_mmc_ex.cstm32h7xx_ll_sdmmc.cSubsequently, I attempted to enable SDMMC1 for the Cortex-M4 core as well (while keeping the initializer on Cortex-M7). However, STM32CubeMX automatically disabled the MX_SDMMC1_MMC_Init function for the M4 core. To address this, I unchecked the relevant option in Advanced Settings and regenerated the code. Unfortunately, this didn't update the linked resources for the M4 project, leading to a compilation error due to an "undefined reference to `HAL_MMC_Init'".In an additional test, I enabled SDMMC1 exclusively for the M4 core, which resulted in the removal of linked resources from the M7 project but did not add them to the M4 core.
