Hi AllJust bought a Nucleo-STM32G070 board and I am new to STM32 MCUs, I tried to power the board with a micro USB cable that I used to charge my mouse after I have installed the USB driver (stsw-link009), but the LEDs do not light on as shown in the introduction video. I did not remove or add any jumpers, did not make any change on the board.Anybody knows where the problem is? Chao

[EDIT - I had Rx Buffers length before which is still there. I mean Rx Buffers Address which has vanished)Trying to walk the right path to get Ethernet working on a dev board, but using CubeMX as the basis (have looked at LwIP_HTTP_Server_Netconn_RTOS  and https://github.com/stm32-hotspot/STM32H7-LwIP-Examples/tree/main and now trying to recreate)A lot of other example posts have something like this (numbers may vary However in the latest STM32CubeIDE or MX  that Rx Buffers Address is now gone.  Both the examples above have something for that in code, and in the linker script. Anyone know why this changed recently? Or if any examples have been updated.I have the Nucleo-H743ZI2 board to be exact. Thanks

My P-NUCLEO-LRWAN2 gateway board (F746ZG) no longer transmits data to TTN and the serial port does not respond. I think I may have loaded a firmware by mistake, where can I find the original firmware? Thanks for the support.

Hello,I am designing a system that uses the ST25R3920. I am using the STSW-ST25RFAL002 software library to interface to the NFC reader. For performance & power saving reasons, I am attempting to complete NFC transactions as quickly as possible, and turn off the RF field between transactions. The typical use case of the system is that once a tag is detected, an initial transaction will take place. After that, the likely case is that the same tag will be present, and no other tags will be present. But there will be cases where that tag will disappear, and then the same tag or a different tag may appear at some time in the future.I am wondering what sort of optimizations I can make by assuming that the same tag will be there, and there should not be any collisions with other tags in the area. So far, I found that after performing discovery to find a tag, and then completing the first transaction with the tag, I can callrfalFieldOff()And then later resume transactions by callingrfa

Hi, It looks like the kill command is not working for ST25TV16K. I am getting an error command as shown below:The register values are given below:

Hello, I am having a confusion in understanding the Clock Frequencies for STM32L452RE. In the Datasheet its mentioned that "Several prescalers permit to configure the AHB frequency, the high speed APB (APB2) andthe low speed APB (APB1) domains" It also says "The maximum frequency of the AHB and the APBdomains is 80 MHz" which is correct. But if you see on the Block Diagram both APB1 and APB2 Share the same clock i.e 80MHz . How would we justify if APB1 is Low Speed and APB2 is High Speed.  It would be great to understand what its actually trying to say. Thanks in advance. Attaching the Images for Reference.

I am attempting to create an NFC antenna for the M24LR04E-R chip, following the circuit diagram of the x-nucleo-nfc02a1 board. My challenge is that the x-nucleo-nfc02a1 board uses a double-sided antenna, but I want to design a single-sided antenna that I intend to print using silver ink on a flexible PET sheet.I have already followed a YouTube video on STMicroelectronics' YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dtq8fKiGMUU) and designed a 42x42 mm antenna with 11 turns, which results in a 5.01 uH inductance according to the eDesign suit (the calculations give a value of 5.009 uH). However, when I printed and tested it, it appeared not to be working correctly. It doesn't seem to operate at the desired frequency of 13.56 MHz. Can you point out what I might have missed or any mistakes I might have made?

Hello,    I am trying to test the compass of the IKS4A1 board with a Nucleo F446 board. I followed line by line the instructions provided in the "Getting started with the STMicroelectronics X-CUBE-MEMS1 software package for STM32CubeMX". My cube project locks like this:Even if I followed all the steps, it was not perfectly clear how to test the board. Moreover I have to further enable the DMA on Uart2 in order to avoid hard_fault. Then, after havin a running firmware I started Unicleo-GUI but there is any communication with the board. The Getting started say to set the Uart to 115200 but Sniffing the packets it looks like unicleo send packets to 38400. In any case also setting the Uart to 38400 there is no communication. The getting started guide says [4.55]: "After application starts, the user can view the data using a Unicleo-GUI application also developed by STMicroelectronics."  But  it does not seem to be as described. Is unicleo Gui the corr

I'm working on migrating a design from STM32F405 series to STM32G473 series, both LQFP100 package, both use FSMC for access to external SRAM (in multiplexed mode; I have separate address latches clocked from FMC_NADV capturing A0..A15 from D0..D15.) When verifying pin-by-pin alternate function definitions, I encountered FMC_NL (assigned through PB7) where I expected to find FMC_NADV (assigned through PB7.) On further checking, I see that datasheet for G473 (DS12712 rev 5 is the version I downloaded and am referencing) cites FMC_NL only in the pin/alternate function definitions, and FMC_NADV in the timing diagrams. The reference manual (RM0440) doesn't appear to site either pin name. Is reference FMC_NL in the pin alternate function definitions to be taken as a typo which should read FMC_NADV? Thank you

Hello!,I got a custom PCB with a STM32F76 MCU with a PHY chip.Running Freetos CMSIS V1, and LwIP. I want to setup the MCU as a PTP slave/client. Is there a way to configure this in the .ioc file?Looking through the drivers enabled HAL_ETH_USE_PTP in stm32f7xx_hal_conf.h Also added the following to HAL_ETH_Init() :ETH_PTP_ConfigTypeDef *ptpconfig ;HAL_ETH_PTP_GetConfig(heth,ptpconfig );// Get PTP actual configuration into ETH_PTP_ConfigTypeDefHAL_ETH_PTP_SetConfig(heth,ptpconfig); What is the proper way to enable PTP support in the .ioc file ? Do I need to know the IP of the PTP master? Thanks,Steve

Hello community,I´m trying to use LL driver for the communication with ST25DV64KC chip,  the register address of this chip is 16bits, but the current LL driver only supports 8bit, I tried to adjust it and failed. Do you have some LL driver examples for ST25DV chip? thanks in advancd.

In my project, my MCU (F411) uses I2C HAL API routinely to read from a sensor device. When some event happens, my interrupt handler will use I2C API to read from different register from that device; so my question is:Is HAL API thread safe? Although I don't use RTOS, there is possibility that my code may try to use I2C interface at the same time.

The wiki documentation of the PhaseVoltageGeneration property minDeadTime says that if this property doesn't apply to a driver it has to be set to null.As we are using a driver that already provides automatic dead time generation (and which cannot be disabled), I disabled this feature by setting it to "null", however the Board Manager complained with following error message: Incorrect type. Expected "number".The correct way to disable this seems to be to set the value to "0" and not "null" as specified in the documentation.I recommend fixing the documentation accordingly.

Hi,I have installed the newest STM32CubeIDE (14.1) and tried to load an example project. Unfortunately, no builder is available. The Project Properties under Builders is just empty.Under Preferences the Toolchain Manager GNU Tools for STM32 (11.3.rel1) is installed but not set to default. However even setting it to default and restarting the CubeIDE does not help. Please note that the Computer that should run the IDE has no internet access. The Toolchain Manger ties to connect to the ST repository to update or maybe find the specific tooling for the STM32L5.I am wondering if a current manual to install CubeIDE offline exists or if I would need to download the specific toolchain for the STM32L5 from somewhere. Thanks for your help.Best regardsM.

Using STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe (v2.13.0, on Win10) I try to connect via ST-Link / SWD, It works perfectly in the GUI but if I trySTM32_Programmer_CLI --connect port=SWD ap=1nothing happens, not even an error, it just terminates. I am having trouble with the latest STM32L4 package (V1.18.0) so I wanted to roll back to a previous version.  STM32CubeIDE won't let me change versions, even if I have multiple versions installed and it insists on only using the newest one.  I uninstalled the newest package and deleted the other package from the repository and it still insists on using V1.18.0, even though it's not on the system.  I read a post that I can generate an older version in CubeMX so I generated a project (by manually changing the default firmware location to V1.17.2) and made a *.ioc project with version 1.17.2 and tried to start a new project in STM32CubeIDE using that *.ioc file . . . but it won't let me open the CubeMX project *.ioc file (trying to use STM32CubeIDE V 1.14.1 but I guess CubeMX has the wrong version so I'm getting "This file has been generated with STM32CubeMX version '6.10.0'.Your current STM32CubeMX version is '6.9.2'.").  So, long story short . . . is there

I am using the VL6180 (not the X version).  This is TOF only.  When reading in continuous mode, I'm getting a tolerance of +/- 1mm and sometimes more.  I'll list my settings below.    My application will measure distances from 10mm to 100mm.  Right now I have the inter-measurement period set to 500ms and this is flexible.  How can I optimize my settings further for accuracy? thanks     VL6180_WriteByte(0x0207, 0x01); VL6180_WriteByte(0x0208, 0x01); VL6180_WriteByte(0x0096, 0x00); VL6180_WriteByte(0x0097, 0xfd); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00e3, 0x00); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00e4, 0x04); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00e5, 0x02); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00e6, 0x01); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00e7, 0x03); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00f5, 0x02); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00d9, 0x05); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00db, 0xce); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00dc, 0x03); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00dd, 0xf8); VL6180_WriteByte(0x009f, 0x00); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00a3, 0x3c); VL6180_WriteByte(0x00b7, 0x

Hi allI'm want to send a string from one stm32 to another stm32 to blink an led on it I'm using uart polling method to do that. The communication happens and led blinks only if I press the Reset button once I switch off and on power supply. What should be done if I want continuous communication.

Hi,I have a custom PCB for my company for automotive purposes with the ASM330LHHX as the IMU. Upon integrating the gyro rate (about the X axis, roll rate, see green line in 1st plot below) while acceleration is happening on the on the Y axis (Ay, see orange trace in second plot below), the purely integrated angle estimate diverges significantly more than it does otherwise without the Ay. This data is from a car driving around sporatically with some significant Ay events in both directions. What is the cause of this behavior from the gyro? Is there a specification that determines how much this behavior occurs, in a standard format of SI units?  Thank you, Steve KrugCTOsteve@axicleengineering.com

I understand, why STM goes meanwhile with AZURE RTOS: it has several nice features. e.g. FileX, LevelX, several network and USB stacks (where STM needs effort to provide as well). But I do not understand why this AZURE RTOS should be a "Real-Time OS" for ARM based platforms? I see so many violations on ARM based coding rules, esp. this: ARM based systems use up to four registers directly, for the function call parameters if you use more as four parameters on a function call: a stack located parameter is needed (and shuffling registers inside the called functions) - suggestion is to put more as four into a struct and use "call by reference" using stack based call parameters: it consumes space from stack (memory size!) - and it can be slower compared to the use of MCU registers (stack is on slower memory) it makes it tough to predict how many stack size do you need I see so many function calls with more as four parameters, e.g. in FileX:    UINT fx_directory_first_full_e

I have previously used the STM32F103C8T6 is a number of projects and was considering switching to the STM32H503RBT6. My use case is low volume R&D work. With the F1, I would use JTAG for programming but the option isn't available for the H5 in CubeMX under SYS. I was curious what others used for programming this chip.

Hello,I am using an stm32h750. I have an ADC group that includes 4 inputs from GPIO ports and the 3 internal ADCs (VBAT, CPU Temp, Reference Voltage). It's set up with DMA. The conversions run at 150hz.We use a coincell battery voltage as input to VBAT. The 150hz frequency of voltage reading is causing it to drain too quickly. The request is that this voltage is read much less frequently (like a few times a day)I'm brainstorming solutions. My original thought was to just remove VBAT from the ADC group and read it directly at application level, but I didn't know it was an internal ADC at that point, so I don't think this is possible?Second thought, after searching the forum, was to use injection mode. But, unless I'm misunderstanding, this is only possible at the group level, not individual channel? Am I wrong here?My final dirty idea was to configure my ADC group normally at startup, get a good VBAT value, reconfigure the group without VBAT (I did this by disabling DMA, reconfiguring A

Hi together,I'm trying to use the ST Link Virtual Com Port on a STM32H745 DISCO board. For this I created a project with the CubeIDE and configured it as explained on many websites and YouTube clips.I also see ST Virtual Com Port in the windows device manager (and also the ttyACM0 on a Linux machine). In the main() I call the MX_USB_DEVICE_Init() and in a cyclic thread I call the CDC_Transmit_FS() to sent some bytes. But in the CDC_Transmit_FS() the hcdc->TxState inif (hcdc->TxState != 0){ ... }will never be 0. After some debugging I found that the function USBD_CDC_Init() is never called. I get interrupts for the USB and HAL_PCD_IRQHandler() is called but never reach the /* Handle Enumeration done Interrupt */if (__HAL_PCD_GET_FLAG(hpcd, USB_OTG_GINTSTS_ENUMDNE))It stucks in the /* Handle Suspend Interrupt */if (__HAL_PCD_GET_FLAG(hpcd, USB_OTG_GINTSTS_USBSUSP))part. Do you have any idea whats going wrong here? Thanks!Christo

I'm unable to connect to STM32F407-DISC1. STM32 ST-LINK Utility gives "No ST-LINK detected" and STM32CubeProgrammer gives "Error: No debug probe detected". I run Windows 10 Business on a Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 3 computer and I have tried with 2 different STM32F407-DISC1 boards, 2 different USB-cables and with both STM32 ST-LINK Utility versions 4.1.0 and 4.6.0. When I plug in my board, an additional "USB Composite Device" shows up under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" in the Device Manager, but it won't let me manually update the driver to the one inside the en.stsw-link009-folder. I have tried to uninstall STM32 ST-LINK Utility, reboot my computer and install STM32 ST-LINK Utility again, but to no avail. Can someone please help me?
