I am experimenting with PWM DMA on STM32F407VET6. The code creates pulses of increasing width. If I enable the output compare preload, the number of pulses is 2 instead of 6.The first pulse at startup is the default setting from the configuration in MX and not the first DMA value. This makes sense as preload of output compare means to load when timer = 0 (if I am not mistaken). To make sure PWM values are not one off, I disabled the preload of the output compare register. In that case I get only 2 pulses and pulse generation stops? Why do I get only 2 pulses in that case?void HAL_TIM_PWM_PulseFinishedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { HAL_TIM_PWM_Stop_DMA(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_1); printf("HAL_TIM_PWM_PulseFinishedCallback: Transfer completed\n"); }     /........................../ Main loop extract:   for (int i=0; i<6;i++) pwmData[i] = 1+5*i; /* USER CODE END 2 */   /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ while (1) { /* USER CODE END WHI

Hello, I am using an STM32L462 microcontroller with a crystal from Wurth: 830 016 178This crystal has a load capacitance of 6 pFI calculated the two load capacitors CL1 and CL2 to be 4.3 pFNow, everything is working OK, and the RTC is running fine...But as soon as I measure the signal with an oscilloscope ( 10 M ohm probe 12 pF) the signal diminishes to zero)Now, I understand that I add an additional 12 pF to the loop, but I am afraid that my solution is not stable. The drive level in the firmware is set to low.And if I turn it to high, it makes no change. The traces to the micro are 4mm and the other 5 mm long. In the reference manual of the STM32L462 they use also a chrystal with a load capacitance of 6pF ( with stopmode specifications they tell), but they have 6.8 pF capacitors can anyone advise me?

I have a B-L475E-IOT01A2 board. I'm trying to use the onboard microphones to record audio, using the DFSDM peripheral, and then send the data over UART to my PC to play it back. The thing is, the data I get is basically just static. Here is how I configured the DFSDM peripheral in CubeMX, based on the "DFSDM_AudioRecord" example for the eval boardsSource for output clock is audio clock. Hello, I have some trouble with FDCAN.Please let me know what is wrong with my settings. 1. Current problem: My STM32H7 transmit only error. (Logic Analyzer) (PCAN View)Same error signal repeat endless and if I connect PCAN, many other error and stuff error occur and can bus status become BUSHEAVY. I check where does HAL_FDCAN_AddMessageToTxFifoQ() return HAL_ERROR.First transmission, HAL_FDCAN_AddMessageToTxFifoQ() return HAL_OK(but in Logic analyzer and PCAN, it is just error) and in Second transmission, TXFQS is 0x00 20 00 00 and enter a if state under and return HAL_ERROR.I think it is become there was no ACK from PCAN. Therefore Tx Que in STM32 will not reset.Maybe PCAN can't give ACK to STM32 because STM32 didn't transmit hole CAN frame as you can see upper logic analyzer screenshot. 2. How I test CAN communication. This is what I setup for debugging.* I didn't attach 120 Ohm terminal resistor because length of CAN bus is short. (it is shorter th

We plan to design a stm32mp13x board equipped with 8MB psram using FMC interface as system RAM. It's going to be very slow but that's fine for our application, and standby power consumption is the topmost priority in this project. How should we deal with all DDR related pins, including both power and signal? Can all VDDQ_DDR and DDR_VREF pins be left floating? Or these power supplies is mandatory, at least a LDO with a few milliamperes output capability required? And how about all addr/data signal? I assume it is safe to left those pins floating but expect an official confirmation for assurance.

I encountered a weird problem when configuring user USB (CN13) of NUCLEO-F446ZE as a virtual COM port. If no other board (e.g., NUCLEO-IHM07M1) is stocked on, this USB can be recognized as a COM port in Windows 10. However, once NUCLEO-IHM07M1 is mounted, immediately the following message pops up. Any idea about the reasons? How to fix such an issue?

Hi, Regard I Problemed with stm32h747xi mcu. #Setting   - Power mode control is direct smps supply mode  - clock 480MHz  - VScale0 Setting  i saw stm32h7 user manual direct smps supply mode doesn't setting with 480MHzSo now I Know. But I don't know why it doesn't boot well at low temperatures. It seemed to boot well for 4 years at room temperature. When I tried to connect ST-link V2/V3, I checked that it didn't connect either.

Hi ST Community / @Peter BENSCH I use my solar panel connected to the STEVAL-ISV020V1 to charge my LiPo battery. Everything works fine and it charges the battery. However since I am trying to charge it indoors, during night-time, my solar panel doesn't reach the min required voltage of 2.6 to operate the STEVAL-ISV020V1. Now I am wondering if the STEVAL-ISV020V1 becomes a load instead of being a charge controller when this happens because it drains the battery with a very low voltage at a certain time.

Hi!I have generated an n-Class Classification static library with NanoEdge AI Studio using data from ISM330ISN. I want to use this library in the ISPU template project that comes with X-CUBE-ISPU (X-CUBE-ISPU\1.1.0\Ispu\ism330is_lsm6dso16is\template\ispu). I have pasted the .h files (NanoEdgeAI.h and knowledge.h) and the static library (libneai.a) in the ispu_utils folder and have linked the static library by going to Properties > C/C++ Build > Settings > Tool Settings > GNU STRED Cross C Linker > Libraries and inserting the following information:But after hitting "Apply", "Rebuild Index" and "Apply and Close", when I try to build the project, I get the following errors:  07:30:02 **** Incremental Build of configuration release for project ispu_basic **** make all Building target: ispu_basic.elf Invoking: GNU STRED Cross C Linker reisc-gcc -mcpu=reiscl -mfp32-format=ieee -Os -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -Wall -Wextra -Wdouble-promotion -fno-strict-al

Hello Forum, I am struggling with a sync timer problem and I have no more idea for resolve it. Here we go :TMR5 is configured as master for TMR3TMR3 is configured as master for TMR4 I configured TMR3 as OnePulse output signal with a delai from a OutputCompareStatus of TMR5I configured TMR4 as PWM signal started by OutputCompareStatus of TMR3 I do Init/Configure/Start after a powerOn and the system works well. I want to do an update of the delai on TMR3 and, impossible to have a correct synchronization between my signals as in the first call.I did several attempt and I lost my self in all theses, someone know the exact sequence of call I have to do for make the magic happened ?Thanks a lot When it works, Any other attempt stop/update same delai/start, the blue wave loose the synchro   Mickael

Hi,we are using the LSM6DSO in Fifo mode and with the double tap feature. Our firmware configures the Sensor Frontend to give an interrupt at fifo_th on INT1 and for double_tap on INT2. Therefore, we explicitly disabled the INT2_on_INT1 bit inside the CTRL4_C register. But still we see the the INT2 interrupts on the INT1 line. (See plot)We always reset the sensor to default. So I guess it seems something is not correctly configured. Here is the code for configuring the sensor:  // configure for the first time ret_code_t err; // Get ID err = lsm6dso_device_id_get(whoamI); if (whoamI[0] != LSM6DSO_ID){ APP_ERROR_CHECK(NRF_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED); } // Do reset uint8_t res; err = lsm6dso_reset_set(PROPERTY_ENABLE); do { lsm6dso_reset_get(&res); } while (res); // Disable INT2_on_INT1 to avoid wrong Interrupts lsm6dso_ctrl4_c_t ctrl4_c = {0}; ctrl4_c.i2c_disable = PROPERTY_ENABLE; ctrl4_c.int2_on_int1 = PROPERTY_DISABLE; writeReg(LSM6DSO_CTRL4_C, (uint8_t *)&ct

Hi,I am currently designing a PCB with bluenrg332AC and need the layout / Gerber file to make progress. But I couldn't find any on the Internet, so can anyone provide me with the file or give me some hint of finding the file? Thank you!

I developed with the stm32f756 chip and then switched to the stm32h743 chip. Then, the functions "LL_SPI_TX_FIFO_FULL", "LL_SPI_IsActiveFlag_BSY", "LL_SPI_IsActiveFlag_TXE", and "LL_SPI_IsActiveFlag_RXNE" that were in "stm32f7xx_ll_spi.h" cannot be found in "stm32h7xx_ll_spi.h". What is the reason and which function should I use to use those functions in stm32h?Please share your knowledge. Thank you.

Hello,Does StellarLink support SPC560P microcontrollers?Best regards.

I have followed this STM wiki tutorial about basic PD Sink. Everything is running according to it, but I am unable to see voltage and current measurement inside UCPD monitor. I have also followed the set-up of debugging button which is working correctly and prints the voltage inside trace. But the measurement graph is unfortunately blank. Where might be the problem?github: link

Hi folks,I use CubeMx to generate UART∕DMA code for STM32L4xx MCU.CubeMx uses currently latest STM32Cube_FW_L4_V1.18.0 package, but HAL_UARTEx_GetRxEventType() is not included in it, neither HAL_UART_RXEVENT_* events.I found it is included in the latest STM32L4 git. Could I somehow use latest STM32L4 git to generate a code by CubeMx with required fix automatically or would it always require manual work to replace HAL_Driver files? Cheers

Hi folks,I'm using HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA() on STM32L4. If I use minicom and type a few characters, HAL obviously detects an idle state after each single character I typed.I'd like to configure a idle timeout value used in HAL_UARTEx_ReceiveToIdle_DMA(), so it would suite my use case.Could someone point me to the right place such a fix? Cheers

I am wondering if HAL functions have some builtin protection mechanism or if I have to wrap them around a  semaphore/mutex take/give. For example, if two tasks call `HAL_ADC_Start(&hadc1);` or `HAL_UART_Receive_IT`, what will happen? Shall I use a semaphore/mutex at OS level?

A usual approach is to branch from a given project by making a copy of it and develop further on the copy, leaving the original intact. How can this be achieved in the STM32CubeIDE project tree?I tried it by copying the directory in the filsystem, to a different directory, edited every file containing the original project name to the new one. Even edited the .metadata and every occurence of the original name in the new directory tree. It lead to an existing new entry in the tree view Could be that I even did an Import by browsing to that new directory. But the result was that I was said it not being a CDT project when I wanted to open the properties on the new project icon. What is a safe way to do achieve this?

Hi,I copied below code from internet which works perfect while using HAL_UART_Transmit. However, I want to understand more why there is minus 1 (-1) at timeout parameter ?P.S.: This question may not be directed at the right section, apologies for that. Please feel free to direct me on the right section. Thanks.

In stm32f1xx_ll_gpio.h, LL_GPIO_AF_EnableRemap_SWJ(), LL_GPIO_AF_Remap_SWJ_NONJTRST, LL_GPIO_AF_Remap_SWJ_NOJTAG(), LL_GPIO_AF_DisableRemap_SWJ() all use SET_BIT(AFIO->MAPR, AFIO_MAPR_SWJ_CFG_xxxxx);which is incorrect, as SET_BIT is #define SET_BIT(REG, BIT) ((REG) |= (BIT))and the read value of AFIO_MAPR.SWJ_CFG field according to RM0008 is unpredictable.JW

Hello friends, i design  ac/dc converter circuit using VIPER-319HD with eDesignSuite. One point makes me confused. In attached document, i am not sure these points are GND or not. When i look the datasheet, it seems that these points are related with GND but i am not sure about that. Can you clarify my doubts? Thanks all for your efforts.

I am encountering an error while attempting to create any project in STM32CubeIDE, which states, 'Code generation could not be done because the necessary firmware package is missing. Not able to complete STM32Cube project creation.' I am using the most up to date software version (1.14.1) and all my packages are up to date as well.I have attempted several troubleshooting steps, including:Downloading and installing the package using 'Manage Embedded Software Packages.'Manually downloading and unzipping the package.Replacing the downloaded F4 package with a patch file, as suggested in various forums.Changing the repository folder location.None of these solutions have resolved the issue for me. The only workaround I have found is to create the project in the default workspace, which was initially created in 'C:\Users\xxxx\STM32CubeIDE\workspace_1.14.1.' I also made sure that my other project workspace folder has the same administration access as my default workspace. And nothing worked fo

Hello.I encountered strange CubeIDE behavior on a customer board with an STM32G0B1CEU.I've found similar glitches on this forum, but they mostly stemmed from fake HW.I use all original STM from MOUSER.If I enable PWM on TIM4 in MXcube, without NVIC, I generate the code, then using CubeIDE and stlink-v3e I upload the code to the MCU without problems, it works without problems, the oscilloscope shows what it has.But as soon as I activate anything with NVIC (TIM PWM Interrupt, DMA interrupt, ...), I generate the code in CubeIDE, then when uploading the code to the MCU it terminates with an MI error message, see attachment.Where is the problem? Please help.
