Hello all,I'm Ali, new to ST Microcontrollers, and I'm seeking some guidance to get started with SPC5 Studio. Previously, I developed custom SDKs where I had control over registers, their addresses, and more. However, transitioning to SPC5 Studio has proven challenging for me.While I can easily import samples from the application library and run them on my microcontroller, I'm struggling with writing a simple LED blinking program. Understanding the schematic, identifying pins, ports, and other details has been particularly difficult.Currently, I've created a project and set pin 1 as GPIO using pinMap editor, but I'm unsure how to proceed further. If anyone could provide assistance in getting started with SPC5 Studio, including basic programming instructions, it would be greatly appreciated. For reference, I'm using the AEK-MCU-C1MLT1 board.Best regards,Ali

Hello Everyone  I want connect stm32F LCd controller to TFT lcd but 16 bit  because I have lack of pins . how should I connect the RGB pins of STM32 to RGB pins of the LCD ?  In case I use the LTDC contrller in 16bits , Can I use the unused pins  RGB of the controller  for other  fucntions ?    Thank you in advanced

Hello everyone,I want to add a process called LL_SPI_SetRxFIFOThreshold(SPI3, LL_SPI_RX_FIFO_TH_QUARTER) in my program to set the FRXTH bit, but LL_SPI_SetRxFIFOThreshold was not declared in this scope.”How can I deal with this error? microcontroller stm32f407vgt6, cubeIDERequired header file #include “stm32f4xx_ll_spi.h” is written void SPI3_Start(void) { LL_SPI_Enable(spi2); LL_SPI_SetRxFIFOThreshold(spi2, LL_SPI_RX_FIFO_TH_QUARTER); } Can you help me with this issue?Thank you

Is this the right way? if (FLASH_OB_GetRDP() != OB_RDP_LEVEL_2) { HAL_FLASH_Unlock(); // Unlock the flash memory HAL_FLASH_OB_Unlock(); // Unlock the option bytes *(__IO uint8_t*) OPTCR_BYTE1_ADDRESS = OB_RDP_LEVEL_2; // Set RDP2 HAL_FLASH_OB_Launch(); // Activate it HAL_FLASH_OB_Lock(); HAL_FLASH_Lock(); } You have to test if RDP2 is already set otherwise you get a hard fault - and a bricked unit unless you have some recovery mode. The above uses existing ST-provided Cube IDE code. There are other examples which are more direct e.g.HAL_FLASH_Lock() is written as FLASH->CR |= FLASH_CR_LOCK but it is the same code. Lots of people going around in circles e.g.https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-embedded-software/what-causes-hal-flash-ob-unlock-to-call-hardfaulthandler-it/td-p/59977/page/3Can anyone see a problem with my code? I've tested it and it appears to set RDP2 (the debugger stops working with error 19 or some such) but not yet with the IF statement around

I am using STM32G031J6M6 and using NRST pin as GPIO.I have been unable to connect to STM32CubeIDE, CubeProgrammer and ST-Link Utility since then, probably because I executed __WFI() in the program.CubeProgrammer error codeSTM32 target not found! Forgive this short , pedestrian inquiry. I am using the STM32U083C-DK and the ST Micro provided BSP code and examples to write to the LCD display that is meant to be used with the DK.  All works well, except the case of string buffer I give to the LCD display is not faithfully reflected  on the display.  For example if the string buffer is defined as: uint8_t* LCD_String[] = "Please Work";  , the LCD shows in slow mode PLEASE WORK (all caps) not case sensitive as I was expecting.  Also it sometimes (seemingly randomly) display lower case letters.  I am using the ST Micro provided API BSP_LCD_GLASS_ScrollSentence API to display my text.I'd be happy to provide more details but wanted to keep this post short.  I'd be MOST interested if someone could tell me if they are seeing the same thing.   If they are not seeing the same thing(i.e., it is working fine for them and faithfully display the case of the characters) , then I know the is

Hello -Board - STM32 NUCLEO-L476GPeripheral board ADXL313 (16 byte data registers)Interface - SPII  can perform single byte read, combine the 2, 8 bit values and the data is correct. Yet, when I try to perform a 2 byte SPI read, it's garbage. This works:uint8_t ADXL313_ReadRegister(uint8_t reg) {uint8_t rxData[1];uint8_t txVal[1];txVal[0] = (reg | 0x80);ACC_CS_ASSERT();  // lowHAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi3, txVal, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY);HAL_SPI_Receive(&hspi3, rxData, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); ACC_CS_DEASSERT(); //highreturn rxData[0];}int16_t ADXL313_ReadDataRegister( uint8_t reg){uint8_t data0 = ADXL313_ReadRegister(reg);reg += 1;uint8_t data1 = ADXL313_ReadRegister(reg);return (int16_t)((data1 << 8  | data0 );}Using above data values are correct when doing to separate 1 byte reads and combiningBut this...does NOT work:void ADXL313_ReadDataRegister(int16_t *data) {uint8_t txData[1];uint8_t rxData[2];txData[0] = ADXL313_REG_DATAX0 | 0x80; // 0x80 to indicate read operationA

Hi everyone,I started a project a few weeks ago, which for reasons of urgency I had to use a black pill board as an initial prototype, using STM32F401CCU6 (of uncertain origin). The project continued to develop almost completely until we assembled the official board with all the circuits and peripherals. When we programmed the firmware on the new board, after some time debugging and evaluating the operation, we noticed that without the backup battery the system took about five seconds longer than the old one to show the first image on the screen. The restart process here is turn the power supply off, wait some seconds (30s to 60s) and turn it on again (repeated many times with and without the battery). The RTC is working perfectly with the battery, it keeps the date and time as expected and loose them when the battery is removed. We reviewed all the hardware (connections, cabling, pinout, etc.) and found no difference between the new board and the initial prototype. We are using exactly t

How can I get these icons to appear?I imported a project from Atollic TS.Thanks,Mechi

Hi All,I have a design that works in STM32CubeIDE but fails when building it with VScode+STM32 plug-in. The strange thing is that the design is working except for the UART TX DMA.To narrow down the issue I created a small design with just the UART TX DMA function. I build the design in STM32CubeIDE and all was OK. I then took the STM32CubeIDE ioc file and created a new (cmake) design for VScode. I copied all the Core/Driver files and startup_stm32h743xx.s to the VSCode project and again the UART TX DMA was not working. To make sure the above procedure worked I created the same design/procedure but used interrupts instead of DMA and in both STM32CubeIDE and VScode the code worked as expected. The source files/drivers/startup/etc are all the same but the produced elf/map/hex files are different. Both STM32CubeIDE and VScode uses the same gcc version 12.3.1 and it looks like most of the gcc flags are the same:VScode:H:\ST\STM32CubeCLT_1.15.1\GNU-tools-for-STM32\bin\arm-none-eabi-gcc.exe -DD

I once made a prototype pcb that contained a Nucleo-32 G431. During testing, I noticed that the PCB did not work and even contained a short circuit. On closer inspection I noticed that the rows of the Arduino Nano connectors on my PCB were swapped. Flipping the nucleo board over fixed the problem. But I never understood how I could have made this mistake when creating the footprint of the nucleo board... :thinking_face:Until today. I also have some Nucleo-32 G031 boards available. Both nucleo boards have the arduino nano connectors and these are called CN3 and CN4 on both boards. BUT... on the G4 board the names are swapped compared to the G0 board! This must have caused the confusion! Why not give these connectors the same name throughout all boards?

Hi, have any of you communicated with a display based on the ST7735S controller? Based on this library: https://github.com/afiskon/stm32-st7735  I converted it from SPI communication to 8080 parallel control, but display does not work properly, while filling the screen with color works, writing text,  drawing pixels or squares does not, everything is visible in the video in attachment.Below link to my project:https://github.com/apaczenko1993/KTLCD9 Thanks for help.

Hi,where do you set programmatically (perhaps through a preprocessor directive) the option to lock the micro to prevent read/download of the flashed code but while obviously still allow for firmware updates? Also I could not seem to find any such option in CubeIDE. Is it available there or do I need to use the CubeProgrammer?Thank you

Hi,We had right the code for NUCLEO-WL55JC1 which is perfectly run. NUCLEO-WL55JC1 is connected with Gateway and send the data successfully to the Gateway according to code. But when we load the same program in our customised board the MCU is not connected with the Gateway even we put the MCU in continuous data sending mode. In above image we display the response of NUCLEO-WL55JC1 on left side while our customised board on right side. We can see that NUCLEO-WL55JC1 dev board is connected in first attempt while our customised board is trying multiple times even though it is not able to connect with Gateway. Is there any thing in hardware or software specific which we missed compared to NUCLEO-WL55JC1 Dev Board ?We did all required connector for MCU, supply voltage is 3.3V and 868MHz antenna is connected.I am attached here the code for ready reference. Please suggest what we missed out and where.

Hello ST Community - I am looking for example projects in order to evaluate the various sensors and peripherals, including the display. I did check here: https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeH5/tree/main/Projects/STM32H573I-DKAre there any other repositories?  Thanks in advance

Hello Currently i'm using STM32F769I-EVAL board with on-board debug unit ST-LINK/V2-1. I would like to know whether ST-LINK/V2-1 firmware is open source & freely available for end user ?Could someone hint ? Thanks. RegardsBivin

I'm using STM32H757I-EVAL and trying to implement SDMMC.However,  I get some errors in these parts of code.At first, the error happened SDMMC_cmdAppCommnad.But now I can see the error SDMMC_CmdGoIdleStateI did change frequnecy of sdmmc, enable hardware control, enable USE_SD_TRANSCEIVER. These were not working.I used these versions and generated code.STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.16.0STM32CubeMX Version: 6.12 STM32CubeH7 Firmware Package V1.11.0 / 04-Nov-2022

Hi, I would like to test out the UART bootloader functionality for the demo board STM32F469I-DISCO. I am using reference documents AN2606 and Demo board schematic. I am assuming  I need to follow below steps to achieve this. Please let me know if I am missing any. Step1: Load a regular software (some LED Blink) , then have the software to set the bit BFB2 when the user ready for bootload. Step2: try to achieve pattern3 first line item of Table2 from the App note AN2606 .     a) Remove SB15 on the demo board, Stuff R150 with 1K to achive High condition of Boot0.     b) Set PB2 (Boot1) to high by adding pullup resistor Step3: use STM32 Cube programmer to load ne bin file over the Virtual COM Port U3 (STLINK_V2) . It uses PB10 and PB11 (  MICRO UART3 connections PB10 TX,PB11 RX).       Note: The micro PB10 is disconnected on the board to STLK_RX , make sure the connection is restor

Hello, Is there a way to make CubeIde use real directories for the .c, .cpp and .h files instead fake ones? It makes copying files a pain. There is surely a way so that I have not to spend my time searching the real path of every single file. Thanks in advance, Albert PD: Examples in images

In the QSPI chapter of G4series reference manual, we can confirm the support of external QSPI flash chip in mmap mode: "memory-mapped mode: the external flash memory is mapped to the device address space and is seen by the system as if it was an internal memory."I need more RAM instead of code space, therefore my external space is PSRAM instead of FLASH.Now I get the indirect mode R/W and mmap mode read all working. My problem is that my mmao mode write operation always set the PSRAM data to zero, given non-zero value is written in my code.My question is whether G474 QSPI controller support mmap write operation at all. My fundamental confused concept is that the QSPI controller has no idea what type of external PSRAM I am using. Therefore it's my responsibility to tell the CCR, or the QSPI controller what instruction byte content my PSRAM chip expects for Rd and Wr. However I didn't find the possibility to configure  two instructions(R & W) in two different registers for the mm

Have seen in the community page that "TouchGFX can also be used on Linux, and even though the TouchGFX Designer cannot be run natively on Linux, the code generate by the TouchGFX Designer works on both Linux and Windows." but how , please help me in answering the below question that would help me: 1.Is it possible to edit the make file from the source code which generated by designer? 2.Is there a option to design screen for iMX boards?  3. What is the possible way to use TouchGFX for iMX boards like iMX8.

Hi,trying to get an M24512E-FMN6TP running but I only receive I2C NACKs using the default address in the DS13657 - Rev 3 - October 2023 data sheet. After some detailed reading it seems the FMN6TP device does not apply to this data sheet, there is a cryptic note under 11 Ordering information saying I should use the data sheet M24512E-F revision 1 - October 07,2022 which I cannot find, either on the ST web site or via Google. What is up with this device and where can I find the correct data sheet? ThanksGoran

Hi,I'm trying to build a custom BLE application following the "Get Started" videos provided by ST and I want to print the default debug messages on the virtual COM port, as shown in the provided examples (e.g., BLE_Custom). As explained in some tutorials, I changed the values of the macros CFG_DEBUGGER_SUPPORTED, CFG_DEBUG_BLE_TRACE, and CFG_DEBUG_APP_TRACE to 1. However, I encountered build errors because the hw_uart.c file was not generated (the same error is reported here ).I discovered that the same variables need to be enabled from the MX project file (.ioc file) under Pinout & Configuration -> Middleware -> STM32_WPAN -> Configuration. I edited the variables CFG_HW_USART1_ENABLED, CFG_DEBUG_TRACE_UART, along with the previously mentioned macros. After doing this, the build process completed successfully, but there was no output on the UART.The issue might be related to the fact that the debugger messages are printed using a printf function, which should be
