Hello I am trying to currently flash and install a firmware file that is stored in a SD card in a STM32F746- Discovery board onto the board. I am new at working in this type the project the board its working as a mass storage device using the SD card as the storage and I want to be able to install any firmware files that is stored in the SD card tough an exe app I develop to be able and install it. I heard that using jumper it can be done, does anyone have any idea of how to do it or if anyone know any other way around.

Hi there!Since updating to:STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.16.1 Build: 22882_20240916_0822 (UTC) I've noticed that changes to the .ioc configuration file performed through the Device Configuration Tool do not reliably propagate to code using the "Do you want generate Code?" (which should be "Do you want to generate Code?"....) option do not generate code that is correct, instead it generates code from a previous configuration.This particular aspect of STM32CubeIDE seems to get worse in every iteration.Also, when you use the configuration tool twice in a row, and do a save-generate cycle, it stops working and the "save" option disappears, and you have to close and re-open it. This is time consuming and very frustrating.This issue is new, and did not occur previously.It makes STM32CubeIDE even more unreliable than it already was, and someone should fix it with priority.Also the recent change to require the user to define "USER_VECT_TAB_ADDRESS" in the "C/C++ Build/Settings" Property for a p

Hey,I'm trying to print the data from the gyroscope L3GD20 of the STM32-F411E Discovery board ( Board Ref:MB1115B) using stm32CubeIDE.Is there a library I can use for the gyroscope, Or does any one can guide me through creating the project as it is the first time I'm doing this.Thanks !

I'm trying to program an STM32L011F4 to transmit data through USART2 by way of the DMA controller.  My code compiles but the IRQ handler for DMA is never called.  Either I have not correctly initialized the DMA controller or there is another problem I am overlooking.  Can anyone provide suggestions?  //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- #include <stdio.h> #include "stm32l0xx.h" //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- #define USART_TX_PIN GPIO_PIN_2 #define DMA_BUFFER_SIZE 64 uint8_t dma_buffer[ DMA_BUFFER_SIZE ] = "String to send through USART2 by DMA!\r\n"; //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- void SystemClock_Config(void); void USART2_Init(void); void DMA_Init(void); void Start_DMA_Transmission(void); //----------------------------------------------------------------------------- int main( void ) { SystemClock_Config(); // Conf

Hi all. I'm an old PIC user and now trying to use the STM32 IDEwith some success as of now.With PIC I can place some NOP() in the code to be ableto set a breakpoint, sometimes to halt the CPU, and since it isa very fast function., if at the end of a testing I forget toremove it, then is does not do harm.  And too, sometimesto use it as a fast delay 10-15times in a row.But I try a lots of "NOP()" & "NOP" & "nop" and alike without success. So anyone have a clue ???

i have W25Q128JV with Nulceo l432kc, my program output .elf file size is 1500kb. so I want to connect external flash(W25Q128JV) with my nucleo L432kc board through SPI1 and i want store and run my code from W25Q128JV.Can anyone please help me with this?

Hi, I am in the process of trying out the image classification example in the STM32 Model Zoo package. I have trained the MobileNetV2 model and followed the steps for deployment on my STM32H747i-Disco Board. However, the code does not seem to be working on my board. Only static shows up on the LCD as shown in this image. Are there any possible fixes as to what is going wrong? I am following the deployment tutorial step by step and even tried to run the image classification code directly from STMCubeIDE but I still get the same result. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am using an STM32H7 to interface with a TI INA700 power monitor. I am using polled/blocking I2C, in particular HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit to set the register I am interested in reading, followed by HAL_I2C_Master_Receive.  This has been working fine for months, so I know that the implementation is basically correct. I am still trying to confirm (the board is not currently in my possession), but it appears the INA700 has been damaged and is not responding to I2C writes or reads with HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit and HAL_I2C_Master_Receive. When this happens, I see this operation go from taking a few ms to taking > 150 ms, even though I have the Timeout argument of both HAL_I2C_Master_Transmit and HAL_I2C_Master_Receive set to 2ms. I have reading documentation, and the documentation seems to say that the purpose of this timeout is to abort the function call if the I2C transaction doesn't complete within that time period, but I am not seeing that behavior, and I am wondering if

Hello everyone,I'm working with the NFC08A1 (ST25R3916) reader, and I'm encountering an issue with SPI communication when trying to read the ST25R3916 registers.I’ve written a simple function to read a register, as shown below:   uint8_t Read_A_RegSpace(uint8_t reg) { uint8_t tx_frame = 0; uint8_t rxData = 0; HAL_StatusTypeDef status; tx_frame = reg | 0x40; SPI_CS_Select(); status = HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi1, &tx_frame, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); if (status != HAL_OK) { UART1_WriteString("Errore nel Transmit!\r\n"); return 0xFF; } status = HAL_SPI_Receive(&hspi1, &rxData, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); if (status != HAL_OK) { UART1_WriteString("Errore nel Receive!\r\n"); return 0xFF; } SPI_CS_Deselect(); UART1_WriteString("Value: "); UART1_WriteHex(rxData); return rxData; } where: void UART1_WriteHex(uint8_t number) { char buffer[256] = {0}; sprintf(buffer,"0x%x\r\n", number); UART1_WriteString(buffer); } void SPI_CS_Select(void) { HAL_GPIO_WritePin

Hello, I am using an STM32F103CBT as an I2C slave. A memory buffer is to be transferred via the interface. Although hi2c1.Init.NoStretchMode = I2C_NOSTRETCH_DISABLE; is set, I cannot measure clock stretching and the first byte transferred is always 0xff. void HAL_I2C_ListenCpltCallback(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c){ HAL_I2C_EnableListen_IT(hi2c); } void HAL_I2C_AddrCallback(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c, uint8_t TransferDirection, uint16_t AddrMatchCode){ HAL_StatusTypeDef hal_i2c_status = HAL_ERROR; if(TransferDirection == I2C_DIRECTION_TRANSMIT){ hal_i2c_status = HAL_I2C_Slave_Sequential_Receive_IT(hi2c, i2c_rx_buffer, 1, I2C_NEXT_FRAME); if(hal_i2c_status != HAL_OK)printf("AC Receive IT error\r\n"); }else if(TransferDirection == I2C_DIRECTION_RECEIVE){ i2c_tx_tf_cnt = 0; hal_i2c_status = HAL_I2C_Slave_Seq_Transmit_IT(hi2c, &i2c_tx_buffer[i2c_rx_offset], 1, I2C_NEXT_FRAME);// << this always sends 0xff if(hal_i2c_status != HAL_OK)printf("AC Transmit IT error\r\n")

Hi, I'm currently examining the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 as a NFC chip for our project. And I've stumbled across a problem. Our own Hardware runs predominantly on 3.3V. In theory, this would not be a problem as the Chip st25r3916b supports the 3.3V operation, but I've found no resources on how to use it.I've implemented a startup routine, that resets the chip (0xC1), then sets the Chip to 3.3V mode (0x01,0x80) and then tries to read the Chip ID (0x7F), but the Chip ID is not returned.As far as my understanding of the Protocol goes, there is no way to only use the Chip resp. the Eval-Board with only 3.3V. As the chip would have to be powered up with 5V and then set to 3.3V mode to use it that way. Otherwise, the Chip won't be able to hear the MCU, as the SPI signal threshold is below the minimum 3.6V, that are required for the 5V use case.Am I wrong in my understanding or is there some sort of jumper, that I need to set?

Hello all,We are once again using one of the VL53 TOF sensors for a close-proximity ranging application. For this application we are using code from the VL53L4CD_ULD_Driver.After initialising the system using the VL53L4CD_SensorInit function, we are obtaining single measurements by starting the sensor via VL53L4CD_StartRanging and getting results via get_data_by_interrupt()We are noticing that if the target distance is changed, the first 2 or 3 measurements after the target distance change, are incorrect (look like values from the previous target distance). The 3rd or 4th measurement (and onwards) are correct. Please have a look at the below log: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------bVL53L4CD ULD ready ! - VL53L4CD INITIALISEDTARGET PLACED ~85MM FROM SENSOR AND STARTED GETTING SINGLE MEASUREMENTSeStatus =  0, Distance =  86 mm, Signal =  832 kcps/spad

HI, I am trying to implement ST7567 GLCD (128x64) with SPI on my STM32G0B1RCT6 MCU. Unfortunately i am not getting the Example Driver, i tried my self but there is no improvement, So Any one Kindly send me the STM32 related ST7567 GLCD Example

Hello, im trying to sending manufacturer-specific data using the SCAN_RSP AdvData in the BLE_p2pServer_Ext application on the STM32WBA module. Are there any examples? Thank You.

I was about to ask about this, but suddenly figured it out.My goal was to delete old irrelevant stuff from the "File path" drop-down box in STM32CubeProgrammer / Erasing & Programming, but it wasn't obvious how to do that. Now that I've figured it out, I want to share it with the community.On Windows computers (at least mine), the recent file list is not placed in Windows registry, but in a text file. The file to edit is config.properties, located in C:\Users\{user name}\STMicroelectronics\STM32CubeProgrammer.Recent files with complete paths are listed at the parameter downloadFileList, separated with commas. Simply delete those you no longer want there (or all), and save the file. Next time you open STM32CubeProgrammer, only the files you left in the list are available in the drop-down box.I don't know if it is necessary, but I made the change while STM32CubeProgrammer was not running. My guess is, that if the file is edited while the application is running, the changes made will

Hi all, per AN3156 it states G0 series have USB DFU mode built-in the factory bootloader, so does it mean I won't have to configure the USB Device DFU Class in the CubeMX in order to make it work? Could I configure it into other classes (like CDC Virtual COM), and only need to flip the BOOT0 pin when it comes to firmware update? Thanks

Hi, I'm having a really hard time with the above example TouchGFX Board Setup in TouchGFX Designer 4.24.1.  What should be a really straightforward (supported hardware) project has thus far got me very confused. As a simple test for a slightly more complex GUI, I have just 2 screens which I am trying to navigate using the Joystick: 2 (DOWN) for navigating forward to screen2 and 4; (LEFT) for navigating back to screen1. The interaction for this is all correctly configured in TouchGFX Designer.  Of course, being 'Hardware button clicks'  additional external code is required in the relevant ScreenView *cpp and *hpp files which I have added via CubeIDE.  The project compiles without errors However, when flashed to the MCU the joystick does not have any effect whatsoever.I have investigated a little by looking at the structure of one of my previous projects using a (supported) H503RB and GFX01M2 which worked pretty much out of the box with full joystick useability.

I tried to follow exactly what was indicated in the following tutorial https://www.youtube.com/embed/JWOV4j5fCS4?cc_load_policy=1&autoplay=1&list=PL8n_tqwYdzVAd_OxaKnfxBrvcGwR8kSJo, but despite the serial port being connected, I am not receiving the data on the console that I send through the micro.What could be the cause? In the attached screenshots, you can find the settings and the code from main.c.

The OEMiRoT project uses ExitSecureMemory V1.1 to enable 1 MPU region and start the application. This automatically enables the configured HDP region, so application cannot access the bootloader. The default OEMiRoT project allows for 2 tiny 64kB applications, but I need >128kB for my application, so I added support for external SPI flash for the download location and removed unneeded data areas.My goal is to fit the bootloader in the first 64kB and have the application use the remaining 192kB. However, an MPU region located at 64kB offset cannot be larger than 64kB itself (offset multiple of size). From a security point of view the bootloader cannot enable anything outside its own scope, but given this limitation (pass a single region to be enabled) it cannot instruct the ExitSecureMemory function to allow all flash from 64kB-256kB to be accessed.In the documentation (like AN2606) I couldn't find if the application is still allowed to enable another MPU region to allow ex

Hi,I am using the STM32H563 with an ST7735S display and encountering a colour difference between TouchGFX and the display. How can this issue be resolved?ThanksMathan

To give a context:I'm working to implement OTA for an existing project which uses stm32f091xx.And it already contains separate bootloader(0x08000000) and application(0x08001000) with their own vector tables.Currently, when a reset occurs, the bootloader which is remapped to 0x0 will call the application at 0x08001000.Question:Both bootloader and application have their own vector table.But on the internet, I found that Cortex-M0 doesn't have a vector table offset.Just to know more about it, I tried to create a hard fault on the application and surprisingly, the hard fault is now in a location which is relative to the application and not the bootloader.This is map of the bootloader:HardFault_Handler 0x080000e3 Thumb Code 2 startup_stm32f0xx.o(.text)This is map of the application:HardFault_Handler 0x08002447 Thumb Code 2 stm32f0xx_startup.o(.text)Why is this working? I mean when I set a hard fault, it should go to 0x080000e3  but why it is going to 0x08002447? Can someone give m

Hi I am trying to send some CAN-bus messages from a STM32H723VGT6I am following this video to send standard CAN messages in external loopback mode (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXyzaaSk6Qs&t=568s&ab_channel=ControllersTech).The code seems to be working as I am using some blinking LEDs to monitor the sending and receiving of messagesHowever I tried to connect an oscilloscope to the bus to monitor the waves and I am not able to see the messages that are being sent from the boardTo make sure that my setup is working correctly I added another node to the bus and I am able to read its messages correctly (I made sure to have the bus resistance set to 60ohm)Do you have any idea why the board woud appear to be able to send and receive messages in external loopback mode but we only see radio silece with the oscilloscope? If I try to use Nomal mode instead I keep seeing nothing with the oscilloscope and after a couple of second the LED stops blinking and I get error 512

In the STM32H5 HAL, the file stm32h5xx_util_i3c.h was not included in the compilation list because it does not contain protection with the #if defined (USE_FULL_LL_DRIVER) flag, even though it uses the LL driver. This absence of protection results in a compilation error when the USE_FULL_LL_DRIVER flag is not defined.Steps to Reproduce:Attempt to compile a project that references stm32h5xx_util_i3c.h without defining USE_FULL_LL_DRIVER.Observe the compilation failure due to missing flag protection in the file.Suggested Solution:Add conditional compilation protection around the code in stm32h5xx_util_i3c.h using #if defined (USE_FULL_LL_DRIVER). This would prevent compilation issues when the full LL driver is not in use.
