I think const-correctness is an important-enough concept to call this a bug report. In the HAL Driver for STM32F1xx, much of the codebase is not const-correct.  For G4xx, I see that I2C is not. What is const-correctness in C?If a function that accepts a pointer to some data doesn't change that data, the function can tell the calling context that fact by declaring the buffer pointer to be const, like so:void i_do_not_change_the_data(const void * data_ptr);Then the calling context can be sure that the function will not attempt to write to the buffer, and can take advantage of compiler and language optimizations surrounding const arguments.  One such (poor) example is a string literal, which can serve as a const char * argument, but not a char * argument. Most (all?) of the HAL functions that take pointers to buffers take non-const pointers, even if those functions don't write to the buffer.  That means that I cannot write my own code to be const-correct without casting a

It is possible to use two DACs (PA4 and PA5) and one ADC (PA6) at the same time on the STM32F303RET?

STM32CubeProgrammer v2.13 was giving me the famous "Failed to execute MI command" and "Failed to download Segment[0]" errors within the STM32CubeIDE, so I downloaded the standalone STM32CubeProgrammer v2.10 and it works fine. The IDE still uses v2.13, so how do I downgrade that one to v2.10 so I can program my chip through the IDE?

Hello all,   I try to make a differential ADC-measurment with the Zephyr work. The console tells me, that "Differential channels are not supported", so I'm not sure what the problem is (Wrong config of the device-tree, missing config in proj.conf or wrong software". In my opinion this measurment should work.  I'm using the STM32H563RG and want to perform the measurment on PA0 (ADC1_INN1) and PA1 (ADC1_INP1)proj.conf: CONFIG_ADC=y CONFIG_ADC_STM32=y CONFIG_LOG=y CONFIG_GPIO=y   Devicetree &clk_hse {     clock-frequency = <DT_FREQ_M(25)>; /* STLink 25MHz clock */     /*hse-bypass;*/     status = "okay"; }; &clk_hsi48 {     status = "okay"; }; &clk_hsi {     status = "okay"; }; &clk_lse {     status = "okay"; }; &pll {  /* SYSCLK 240MHz (250) */     div-m = <5>;        /* 5 (4) */     mul-n = <96>;     &nb

Hi   If I understand correctly, this table in the datasheet says WB55RC family which I have a 256K flash type, should allow me to have 128K SRAM 64KB SRAM1 and 64KB SRAM 2 But the code that is generated with STM32CubeMX does not grant me all these sections: First of all there are two .ld files which I would like to know what are they and how they are used? One is STM32WB55RCVX_FLASH.ld with the following memory assignment: MEMORY { FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08000000, LENGTH = 256K RAM1 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000004, LENGTH = 0xFFFC // which is(64K) RAM_SHARED (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20030000, LENGTH = 10K } The other one is STM32WB55RCVX_RAM.ld with the following memory assignment: MEMORY { RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 64K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08000000, LENGTH = 256K } What do I have to do to have more RAM ?   [Also in the labels that I am expected to assign for the post in the forum, there is no STM32WB family]

Hi,We're in the process of developing a new board and I've got a question about USB.We would like to have a USB device with MSC only. Can we not activate the UCPD and work with the TCPP01-M12 FLT, DB CC1 and CC2 signals at ground (as on the STM32U545 eval kit)?At the moment, I can't get the USB to work without the UCPD enabled on the NUCLEO-U575ZI-Q board.

Hi, I am using a custom PCB with SM32WB5MM module. I am reading a temperature sensor and I want to update its value to the advertising package in "a_AdvData".For this I made a "shared_variable" in my main.c (for now its just defined to 10, later it wil lstore the temperature reading from sensor). Then I made a "extern int shared_variable;" definition in main.h.Then in app_ble.c I assign this data to the struct of "a_AdvData" package.Main.h     /* Includes ------------------------------------------------------------------*/ #include "stm32wbxx_hal.h" #include "app_conf.h" #include "app_entry.h" #include "app_common.h" /* Private includes ----------------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN Includes */ /* USER CODE END Includes */ /* Exported types ------------------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN ET */ extern int shared_variable; /* USER CODE END ET */ /* Exported constants -----

Hi, this is new for me. im working with a project that includes an STM32U575RIT6Q controlling a device through the SPI3 interface at 40MHz with 8 bits per word, SPI mode 0, and the GPIO change speed at very high. The microcontroller is running at 160MHz using PLL with the HSE.The issue here pops up when i call the function HAL_SPI_Transmit or HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive with a bytes length of 1024 bytes or longer. The SPI transaction fails because the bit named#define SPI_FLAG_EOT SPI_SR_EOT /* SPI status flag : End of transfer flag */could not reset to 0.This issue is not happening when the bytes lenght of the transaction is shorter than 1024 bytes. here is the code im using for this test. void MX_SPI3_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN SPI3_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END SPI3_Init 0 */ SPI_AutonomousModeConfTypeDef HAL_SPI_AutonomousMode_Cfg_Struct = {0}; /* USER CODE BEGIN SPI3_Init 1 */ /* USER CODE END SPI3_Init 1 */ hspi3.Instance = SPI3; hspi3.Init.Mode = SPI_MOD

Hi everyone,It's not unknown to people that TouchGFX designer is missing a key functionality: Grouping of views that have shared functionality, and separating the shared code into some interface. It's a feature that will appear in the Designer since it is currently not able to do this.So far people are adding the same custom container to different views to achieve "shared" functionality, but this only takes care of the UI definitions and not code that could also be shared, like handlers for buttons (which had to be written again in each view).A proper solution requires modifying the generated files, which will get overwritten again during the next code generation. Still, i've put together an example that you can look at to get a general overview. I'm attaching it here now, and will follow up with a detailed description of what's going on. I suppose we could consider this a pre-cursor to what will happen in the designer at some point and then you'll be READY and understand everything! =

HIi have a question about printf. fprintf, scanf etci'm redirecting those functions to use a UART replacing the int _write(int file, char *ptr, int len)  and int _read(int file, char *ptr, int len) functions.  int _write(int file, char *ptr, int len) { HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t*)ptr, len, 1000); return len; } int _read(int file, char *ptr, int len) { __HAL_UART_CLEAR_OREFLAG(&huart2); HAL_UART_Receive(&huart2,(uint8_t*)ptr, len,HAL_MAX_DELAY); HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,(uint8_t*)ptr,len, 1000); return len; }   now i'm using threadX and possibily call printf or the other function from multiple threadsis this approach already thread safe or i have to implement a mutex for the Uart?If i have to use a mutex is that possible to get and put the mutex inside the _write or _read function or i have to get the mutex before call printf?thank you

Hi I am using UDE STK 2021 debugger software and for that I am using PLS-UDESTK debugger(HW), for SPC58NN84E7 microcontroller  I could see the PLS-UDESTK is mentioned as NRND(Not recommended for new design) So I am planning to use AEK-MCU-SPC5LNKU with same above mentioned SW debugger. Can you any confirm me that AEK-MCU-SPC5LNK supports UDE STK 2021 SW debugger Thanks in Advance

Hello,I hope everyone are doing well!I have implemented MQTT protocol in an STM32H7 microcontroller that is attached on a display. For that reason I have use the subscribe method in order to receive payloads from 6 different topics, which two of them has large bytes because they have JSON form. During its normal operation, it appears the exact data on the screen and it is working correctly, it stops working (ping returns "can't reach destination" and also MQTT stops working) by giving me an  configASSERT( pxQueue->uxItemSize == 0);  in the function xQueueSemaphoreTake as the figure showing below:I am not able to understand what is the problem, before that due to the reason that the two payloads was so large the xQueue was being overwritten and this configASSERT was appearing again, but the problem was that  uxLength and uxMessagesWaiting had a big number that was not normal. This problem I was able to solve it by increasing TCPIP_STACK_SIZE in lwip

I have a board with stm32f407zgt6. I'm using freertos and fatfs. The board has a connection for an SDCARD, I'm using a 4GB SDCARD with fat32.For reading, F_open, f_read, f_close, everything works. When I use it to write, f_close takes a long time and returns FS_DISK_ERR.What do you need, files, the .ioc, the sources, no problem, to help me find the problem? I tried to configure it as correctly as possible, but I think I left something behind. The write process it's in the file ESP8266_HALL.cpp, this file I put in the body of the post, because the forum did not accept the file for a reason that I did not understand, but I will not fight with the forum, I really want help.Thank you very much.PS: f_write return the correct amount of bytes written, with what I ordered to be written. the file, after the f_close error, has 0 bytes on the disk. This happens both for already existing files and for new files  /* * ESP8266_HAL.c * * Created on: Apr 14, 2020 * Author:

Can anyone please confirm that LevelX and FileX can only be used with AzureRTOS. Everything that I have read indicates as such. Both only available when AzureRTOS is enabled as well as using CubeMX.Thanks in advance!!!

Hi all, I am working on my own program using the API provided with the stm32Cubeprogrammer V2.18 to flash custom bootlader and programs over USB in dfu mode. The problem I had was when I tried to flash a custom bootloader, the function connectDfuBootloader threw this error: Error: Database cannot be found. DatabasePath = /../Data_Base/STM32_Prog_DB_0x415.xml Error: CUBEPROGRAMMER_ERROR_NOT_SUPPORTED After a few attempts I realized I had to put the Data_base folder 3 folders up from the executable file so the program can find that file. This is not a major problem but I can't find any function within the API that allows me to change that path, so do anyone knows another way to change this?ThanksKind regards

Hi everyone, I am looking for s low-side driver that will last more than 5 years, preferably 10. For functionality, L9822E and L9823 are good candidates, and I would like to know their expected EOL. Thanks Insu

Hi,i'm trying to work with Sigfox and MB1779B board.I try to connect with cube programmer and V3miniE.here is the log :is there a procedure to connect to board ?thank you

Hi,I generated the code in CubeMX and opened it in VSCode. However, I cannot run the code because VSCode cannot find main.h. I'm not sure why this is happening. I've generated the code twice, but the problem persists. The main.h file is located in the Core > Inc folder, and main.c is in the Core > Src folder. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue? Thanks!

Dear STM32 Community,PFA for your reference.I am working with an STM32F765 on a customized board, using STM32CubeIDE version 1.17.0. I am facing an issue related to the RCC->CSR register and processor behavior.Issue with RCC->CSR: At the beginning of execution, `RCC->CSR = 0x14000000`, which indicates a normal power-on reset. However, when I run the program without breakpoints, `RCC->CSR` shows `0x00000000` after the first loop, which seems incorrect. Breakpoint Behavior: When I set a breakpoint and step through the code, `RCC->CSR` shows `0x14000000` only during the first loop, and after that, it becomes `0x00000000`(cleared RCC->CSR manually after reading). PFA for your reference.Processor Exit from While Loop: Additionally, when running without a breakpoint, the processor is unexpectedly exiting the while loop. I am unable to identify why it is going outside the loop.(with RCC->CSR value 0xd50106d2)Steps Taken:1. Printed the value of `RCC->CSR` at differ

Is it OK to use these pins as current sinks for driving LEDs ?

I'm tying to setup TCP server using ethernet communications (Nucleo-F767ZI) and find that I can ping the board using the router allocated IP address but I'd like to do the same using Hostname. In STM32CubeMx .ioc file, under Network Interface Options, LWIP_ENABLE_NETIF_HOSTNAME is set to 'enable' and I've set the host name I want to use in LWIP_NETIF_HOSTNAME to 'my_lwip'. However, I still find that I cannot ping the board using the hostname. I know my router DNS is working Ok because I can ping a Raspberry Pi using it's host name.I realize that in STM32CubeMX generated lwipopts.h #define LWIP_NETIF_HOSTNAME is set to my_lwip by default but I change this to 1 manually. Otherwise, in ethernetif.c, the statement netif ->hostname - "my_lwip" is not enabled.I think mDNS has to be enabled in LwIP. However, under MDNS/TFTP tab in CubeMX, LWIP_MDNS is always disabled and there is no enable option in the drop-down list.  I've seen a post that suggests to enable LWIP_MDNS, LWIP_UDP and

Posted on March 27, 2017 at 18:51 I'm using STM32F303 which operates on 3.3V  how can I communicate with the L9823 SPI which runs via 5V? thank you

I am using SPI2 and SPI3 with DMA1 to write and read to/from peripheral chips. This works fine most of the time. At the same time I am using the stop mode to save power. Now in some cases just after leaving the stop mode, the next DMA transfer does not work. The transfer is started but the complete-interrupt-routine is never called. And when checking the registers the half transfer bit is not set. A reset of the DMA(LL_DMA_DeInit(DMA1, LL_DMA_STREAM_ALL)) in this case seems to not resolve the problem. I have to reset the whole device to resolve it.DMA and SPI transfers are setup before each transfer.LL_SPI_InitTypeDef SPI_InitStruct; //Structure containing the settings for SPI2 LL_DMA_InitTypeDef DMA_InitStruct; //Structure containing the settings for DMA1 NVIC_InitTypeDef NVIC_InitStructure; LL_DMA_DisableIT_TC(DMA1, LL_DMA_STREAM_2); LL_DMA_DisableIT_TC(DMA1, LL_DMA_STREAM_5); LL_SPI_Disable(SPI3); LL_I2S_DeInit(SPI3); LL_SPI_StructInit(&SPI_InitStruct); SPI_InitStruct.Mode = L

Hi. Looking to use E-L9823 as a replacement in a legacy design. The datasheet states pin 21 is not connected. Looking to confirm it is a true "no connect" internally on the part.  On our existing PCB it will be tied to +24V. Thanks.

Hello,I want to use the security features included in the TFM in my application, I have followed UM2851, now,I have a better understanding for TFM and I succeed to implement it in STM32U585, to go further I want ot implement my own non-secure application and to interact and use secure services via PSA APIs, I have searched all the web for that, but I didn't find a hint.Any explanation or a hint, please ! Thank you.Regards,ZK.
